Four good friends, two of whom had barely survived planning their own wedding due to the lack of updated information and real-world resources available, founded The Knot in 1996. With firsthand experience, a unique vision, and funding from America Online, they set out to reinvent the way couples plan their weddings. The Knot quickly became the most popular online wedding resource and a highly successful offline brand, reaching millions of brides, grooms, and gift-givers worldwide.
