The girls got ready at Hotel Monaco. The green striped walls and furniture complemented the red flowers and bridesmaid's pick-your-own black dresses perfectly. My flower girl and I are standing in one of the picture windows that overlooked the Chicago River.

It was a gorgeous and warm summer day. We must have heard hundreds of congratulations and well wishes from the people at North Avenue Beach as we walked along the shore.

We were walking through the Taste of Chicago and Jay saw these giant cell phones dancing in the streets and pulled me over to join them.

For our cocktail hour we used black and white lounge tables topped with white spider mums in square vases and filled the tables with cute dating books from the 30's.

Our ceremony took place on the rooftop of The National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame in Little Italy. It offered unparalleled views of the skyline. We chose to do a sand ceremony because we were worried about the wind on the rooftop. We are laughing as I continue to spill most of my sand on the table. Good thing it was white! I made the programs with a DIY fan template borrowed from another knottie.
