We expect people to trickle in over the course of the afternoon and evening Friday night.
We won't provide dinner. But we will have some light snacks (s'mores, drinks) and a campfire.
Saturday will be a day full of activities (or just lounging around, if you prefer). It will be a good day to see the sights and experience nature near our wedding venue. If you've never been to Yosemite, it might also be a good day to head into the park; head in early to beat traffic if you go! See our Things to Do section for more details and send Nat an email for specific Yosemite tips.
Breakfast and Lunch
We'll start off the day with breakfast from 8-10 am at Paradise Springs. We will also have boxed lunches available to take on your day's journey.
Go Hiking!
Once topped up, feel free to head off and enjoy one of the many hikes near Paradise Springs (see the Things to Do section of our website for some ideas).
Come Climbing!
Another option will be doing some climbing. A group of intrepid guides* will head up to Fresno Dome to set up ropes so that folks can give climbing a try. Directions are located in the Things to Do section. We'll have some spare harnesses and pairs of shoes that you can try to cram into if you don't have your own. Fair warning - the approach to the climbing area is somewhat strenuous and the base area is rocky and uneven. It might not be ideal for very small children. Pack plenty of water and sturdy hiking shoes.
Burgers
In the evening we'll reconvene at 6:30 pm for a burger bar (veggie options available), beer, and campfires.
Talent Show!
After dinner, you will have the chance to show off! We're gonna have a talent show! If you want to participate, just prepare a song, play, skit, joke, memory, story, piece of art, dance, chant, anecdote, scientific paper, or any other talent that you'd like to share with the assembled guests. If you lack talent or inspiration, we will happily assign you a scene from our relationship to act out. Sign up here!
After the show, we hope that merriment, campfires, songs, and revelry will continue deep into the night.
*Not certified guides. But competent climbers nonetheless.
We will recover from Saturday night with another breakfast from 8-10 am at Paradise Springs. Boxed lunches will be available to take with you on your day's adventure.
During the day, there will be a selection of lawn games to provide diversion while you count down to the big moment. Water balloons will be available if it gets too hot. Do not throw them at the bride once her hair is done.
Nat will take those interested on a short hike through the Shadow of the Giants grove of giant sequoias, which is located just a short drive away.
We will get married on Sunday, July 2, at 5:15 in the afternoon. Michelle Kreger will officiate. Feast, music, and dancing to follow.
Please RSVP through this website by May 1, 2017.The wedding and reception dress code is "forest festive." (We know that's not a real dress code.) We want everyone to wear whatever's comfortable and makes them feel stylish. There are no wrong answers! But if you require direction, one option is this:
Check out of Paradise Springs is 11 am.
Before everyone departs, we will have a goodbye breakfast from 8-10 am to recap the night's events and send people on their way.
