New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's popularity among the American people has hit an all-time high over the past few weeks—and there's one population in particular that he's left a positive impression on: eligible bachelorettes Googling, "Is Andrew Cuomo married?" That is, according to his sister-in-law Cristina Cuomo, who joked this week about compiling a "wait list of women who want to go out with him, which is so cute."

"I'm really proud of Andrew," Cristina told ET via video chat. "He's the Andrew that I've always known and admired and loved… We have someone talking straight to us, who is honest and sincere and you know is showing us, is calming us down and giving us all the information in real time and that's what he's been doing. It's amazing."

Who Is Andrew Cuomo's Girlfriend?

He's currently single. Cuomo, 62, was previously in a long-term relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Food Network star Sandra Lee; the pair called it quits after more than a decade together last September, though they are still on friendly terms.

Before that, he was married. Andrew Cuomo's wife was Kerry Kennedy, the daughter of Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy. The exes, who split in 2005, share three daughters together—twins Cara and Mariah, 25, and Michaela, 22.

Andrew Cuomo's Fans

Meanwhile, some of Cuomo's biggest fans also happen to be celebrities in their own right, like Jada Pinkett-Smith, who admitted during a Red Table Talk episode last week that she considers the politician to be her "celebrity crush."

"I don't miss a press conference," said Pinkett-Smith, who's married to Will Smith. "When Cuomo's on, I'm like, 'Got to go see my celebrity crush right now, sorry.'"

Chelsea Handler has also been an outspoken fan of the New York governor; she praised his leadership and calm under fire in a love letter published in Vogue late last month. In the humor-laden letter, Handler thanks Cuomo for, among other things, "reminding us that there are men who can lead and be clear and tell the truth—even when the news is bad"; "your different outfits, your tight white polo shirts, your forceful language, and your clear, easy-to-read graphics"; "reminding us, at a time when old white men are neither cool nor popular, that good men exist and that real politicians do their job by leading"; and "talking about the unexpected benefit of spending time with your daughters and for using words like compassion and courage."

Andrew Cuomo's Family

Cuomo has received favorable responses for staying human amid the pandemic, often bantering with his younger brother Chris, who happens to be a host on CNN—frequently about their elderly mother Matilda.

"I just called Mom, right before coming on this show," Cuomo told Chris in one particularly viral moment during a CNN interview. "And by the way, she told me I was her favorite. The good news is, she said you were her second-favorite, her second-favorite son."

Chris responded dismissively, saying, "She never said that."

Both Chris and Cristina have tested positive for the coronavirus; Chris announced that he was diagnosed in late March, and he recently revealed on CNN that Cristina had contracted the virus as well. "The person who's not upset is Cristina," he told Cuomo in a segment on his show Wednesday, April 15. "It just breaks my heart. It is the one thing I was hoping wouldn't happen and now it has."

Cristina, for her part, has been trying to keep her spirits up and shared a sweet message thanking her family for their continued support amid tough times. "You never know how strong you are, until being strong is your only choice," she captioned a photo of herself with the couple's youngest daughter, Carolina, 10. (The couple also have two other children: Bella, 17, and Mario, 14.) The couple married in a church on Long Island in November 2001.

Following Cristina's recent diagnosis, Cuomo offered sage advice to his younger brother with his trademark no-nonsense delivery. "You're going to be getting better soon, because you have to be getting to the tail end of this thing," the New York governor said on Cuomo Primetime that same day. "So you'll be up and you'll be strong. When all is said and done, I don't think this is a bad experience for [your] kids to go through. You want to talk about growing up a little bit and seeing reality a little bit? Bella will step up so it's all going to be fine. I know it makes a bad situation worse, but it's all going to be fine."
