Who is Collin Morikawa's Wife, Katherine Zhu?

Collin Morikawa's wife is Katherine Zhu. Born in Vancouver, Canada, she attended Zhuji Hailiang Private High School in China and graduated in 2014. She went on to study international management at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. While at university, Zhu received multiple honors for athletics and academics, including the WGCA All-American Scholar, Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar and WCC All-Academic.

Athleticism seems to run in her family—her father, Mike Chu, was a tennis player, and her mother was a track runner. Zhu also played tennis before shifting her focus to golf, which she discussed in a 2016 interview with Pepperdine's blog. How did Collin Marikawa meet his wife? The couple met while they were in college, when Zhu was at Pepperdine and Morikawa was a student at the University of California, Berkeley. Morikawa first posted a photo of the pair on a date together on May 29, 2017, with the caption, "Probably not a good idea to take your date to a rooftop when she's afraid of heights 😜"

In an interview with the PGA Tour in 2022, Morikawa said that getting engaged was far more nerve-wracking than competing in golf. "[I was] way more nervous proposing. It's not even the same. It's not even in the same boat. It is so far gone," he told reporters.
"I mean golf, I do it every day. It's normal. Proposing is not," he continued. "That morning I practiced with my caddie in the Bahamas and we were on a cart and I was driving into ropes and going all over the place. It was nerve-wracking."

On November 26, 2022, Collin Morikawa and his wife Katherine Zhu got married at Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles. They had around 100 guests present, including their pup, Koa, who was dressed in a tux. During the ceremony, the bride wore a gorgeous Vera Wang dress while Morikawa rocked a suit from Stitch+Heart. Zhu changed into a Galia Lahav dress for their reception, which was decorated with flowers from Butterfly Florist. According to a story by People, the couple exchanged traditional vows at the ceremony before sharing their own personal vows with one another privately.
