December 2020-February 2021: The Couple's "Twins with a Twist" Join the Family
Despite their desire to have more children, Freddie and Chelsea Freeman experienced a challenging fertility struggle after she had an emergency C-section with Charlie. The pair were open about their journey, including their decision to work with a surrogate. "We tried for a couple of years, and it didn't happen. We were talking with doctors, and they suggested surrogacy. We jumped at that, because we wanted to be blessed with more kids," the couple told ESPN in February 2021.

August 2024: Chelsea and Freddie Freeman Open Up About Son's Guillain-Barré Syndrome Diagnosis
The strength of Freddie and Chelsea Freeman's marriage was on full display in August 2024 when their son Maximus went through an unexpected health scare. After revealing he "rapidly declined and went into full body paralysis," many tests confirmed that Maximus was suffering from a severe case of Guillain-Barré syndrome, which is a rare neurological condition.
After eight days in the pediatric ICU, the couple's son was discharged. "Max still has a long road ahead of him to regain his strength and relearn how to walk," the Freemans shared in a joint Instagram post. "But we are so thankful to have our family back together."
