Before their European destination wedding, Joey King and Steven Piet had to solidify their union stateside. The couple's civil ceremony took place on August 19, 2023, and included an after-party at a bowling alley. The Kissing Booth star reflected on the intimate celebration on Instagram in 2024, writing, "For Valentine's Day I thought I'd share this rager of a memory. August 19th 2023. Steven and I legally had to get married in the states before our September wedding in Mallorca."
She continued, "Obviously we wanted it to be a bit of a party. So we got some sickeningly hot outfits, gathered family (my mom made me a bouquet from the dollar store), hit up a place called Same Day Marriage in Los Angeles, and went bowling and partied."

Joey King's wedding in Spain took place less than a month later. She and Steven Piet got married again on September 2, 2023, and told Vogue the soirée was "absolute perfection." Reflecting on the destination celebration, King added, "Looking out from the altar at all of our friends and family was an unforgettable moment. We truly felt so perfectly present, and soaking in every detail was pure magic."

King told Vogue that while she and her husband knew they wanted to host an international wedding, they didn't nail down the city until they fell in love with one particular wedding venue. "We were looking for something unique and private and that felt grand yet intimate at the same time," King said. "We found La Fortaleza in Mallorca, and it feels like the Spanish version of The Great Gatsby. It's historic without being dated. It felt timeless, the same way we feel about our love for each other. And finding it was all thanks to our wonderful wedding planners Alison Bryan Destinations—they nailed it and found us the venue of our dreams."
Joey King's Wedding Dress
With the intention to source attire that matched the vibe of the setting, Joey King found four perfect wedding dresses from Oscar de la Renta with the help of her stylist, Jared Eng. The most notable was her ceremony look: a strapless ball gown with oversized 3D flower paillettes and a cathedral-length veil.
To kick off the wedding weekend, she donned a short lace rehearsal dinner dress with a cape and white platform heels. Then, once the after-party began after the ceremony, she swapped her ball gown for a gauzy tulle dress with a tiered skirt and 3D floral appliques. "I felt so sexy and romantic in this, like a fairy," she told Vogue of the third look.
For the poolside party on the third (and final) day, King opted for a neutral mini dress with a crochet top and a straw-like skirt, which she styled with a matching rattan clutch.
