Porsha Williams Is Engaged to Simon Guobadia
Another Atlanta wedding is being planned. Porsha Williams, a standout cast member of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, is engaged to Simon Guobadia.
The future groom, an entrepreneur, made the surprising announcement this week, especially since the dynamics of the relationship are a bit complicated. Guobadia is, in fact, the estranged husband of Falynn Guobadia, another RHOA cast member.
Williams, on her end, revealed she was dating Guobadia this past Monday, though she didn't share with the public that she was engaged. "Our relationship began a month ago—yes we are crazy in love," Williams, 39, wrote on Instagram. "I know it's fast but we are living life each day to its fullest. I choose happiness every morning and every night. Tuning out all negative energy and only focused on positive wishes. He makes me so happy and to me, that is what matters most."
Simon, 56, was the one to reveal the proposal news on his end. "I asked her to marry me because we checked ALL of each other's boxes, and then some," he shared.
The Guobadias were married for two years before splitting. They just announced their divorce on April 22. Williams acknowledged the complexities of the relationship's outward-facing situation. "For all of you that need facts, I get the optics but Simon filed for divorce from a previous marriage in January," she wrote. "I had nothing to do with their divorce filing. That's between the two of them. Falynn and I are not friends, and Simon's divorce has been settled. Our relationship is a positive, loving step forward in everybody's lives."
Williams shares a daughter named Pilar Jhena with her former fiancé Dennis McKinley. She was previously married to former football player Kordell Stewart from 2011 to 2013. It appears that McKinley and her current fiance get along great, even according to her Instagram Stories.
"Simon and Dennis are committed to being respectful and supportive of my happiness in this situation, as well as being the best co-parents they can be to baby PJ," Williams continued in her caption. "Two black men stepping up and being amazing people -- let's praise them!!!!"
She concluded, "It's truly a beautiful moment in my life & we cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives together. xoxo P #LoveWins."
