Two years later, Faith Hill joined Tim McGraw's Spontaneous Combustion tour as an opening act—and after they split with their respective partners, they began dating each other. "We were young and silly and goo-goo-eyed in love," Tim told People of their connection.
Within weeks, Tim McGraw proposed to Faith Hill…while they were on stage, that is! In an October 2015 video shared on Twitter, the singer recalled how he popped the question to his then-girlfriend. "We just made a commitment early on, when we first decided we were getting married and having kids, that we wouldn't just walk out the door when problems arose," he shared.
He further praised his wife in a conversation with Zane Lowe on his Apple Music podcast the same month. "I guarantee you, had I not gotten married to Faith at 29 years old, A, I probably would've ran my career into the ground, and B, I would've died already with my career into the ground – one or the other, and it wouldn't have ever been where it's at now."
