Where's Waldo(boro)?

The nearest airports are Boston Logan and Portland Jetport. Waldoboro is a three hour drive from Boston and a little over one hour from Portland. <a href="https://concordcoachlines.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Concord Coach Lines</a> has buses to Waldoboro from Boston Logan Airport, Boston South Station, and Portland.

Damariscotta

Damariscotta (15 minute drive from Tops’l) is a small coastal town with a beautiful main street containing nice restaurants, coffee shops, and gift shops / galleries. Some recommendations in Damariscotta:- Barn Door Cafe &amp; Sherman's bookstore- Damariscotta River Grill- Oysterhead Pizza- Round Top Ice Cream (a little bit away from main downtown area)

Rockland

Rockland (25 minute drive north from Tops’l) is a larger town with lots of shops, art galleries, and food options.&nbsp; Some recommendations in Rockland:- Atlantic Baking Co- Farnsworth Art Museum

Round Pond

Round Pond (15 minute drive south from Tops’l) has places to get lobster, including Round Pond Lobster and Muscongus Bay Lobster, and take in the water views

Parks, Walks, & Activities

<a href="https://www.bristolmaine.org/parks-recreation/pemaquid-point-lighthouse-park" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Pemaquid Point Lighthouse</a>This lighthouse and surrounding park is a 30 minute drive south of Tops’l and has amazing views of the ocean.&nbsp;There is a Seagull Restaurant and Gift Shop next door, with some classic Maine food options. <a href="https://www.coastalrivers.org/trails/seal-cove-shore-preserve/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Seal Cove Shore Preserve</a>This preserve is a 30 minute drive south of Tops'l and has a 1.2 mile loop trail through the forest, with water views that often include seals. <a href="https://www.coastalrivers.org/trails/la-verna-preserve/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">La Verna Preserve</a>This seaside preserve, a 25 minute drive south of Tops'l, has some nice walks. <a href="https://mainekayak.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Kayaking/Boating</a>There are multiple places to rent kayaks nearby, including Maine Kayak which has locations at both Pemaquid Point and Boothbay Harbor.

Waldoboro is a very small town close to our venue (5 minute drive).&nbsp;Damariscotta (15 minute drive) is a slightly bigger coastal town with nice restaurants, coffee shops, antique shops, and one of our favorite bookstores. Rockland (25 minute drive) is even bigger - it has an art museum and lots of shops/food options.&nbsp; We have a room block at the Rockland Harbor Hotel and will have a shuttle from here to the venue for the wedding on Friday. The shuttle will also make a stop at Moody's Motel in Waldoboro. You do not need to stay at either of these options - there are lots of lovely inns, bed and breakfasts, Airbnbs and VRBOs in the area! We list a few below but this list isn't exhaustive. Maine in the summer does book up though so we’d recommend booking as early as possible.

Rockland Harbor Hotel

Rockland Harbor Hotel is on the main street of Rockland. Our room block includes rooms with king beds and rooms with two queen beds. For those who requested shuttle service, taxis will be provided to and from the venue for the Friday events.&nbsp;&nbsp; To book, please call (207) 594-2131 and mention that you’re there as part of Noah and Ella’s wedding. You can’t book online. Please book by May 3rd as they will release the rooms after this date.

Moody's Motel and Cabins

<a href="https://secure.thinkreservations.com/moodysdiner/reservations" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Website</a> 1907 Atlantic Hwy, Waldoboro, ME 04572 Rate: Around $125 per night for one bedroom cabin, $135 for two bedroom This option has stand-alone cabins with one or two bedrooms. Near to the venue but best for those who have a car to explore the surrounding area as there's less within walking distance than the Rockland options. Taxi service will be provided to and from the venue for the Friday events.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Berry Manor Inn

For those who requested a shuttle, this inn is an 8 minute walk from the pick-up and drop-off point of Rockland Harbor Hotel.&nbsp;

 Limerock Inn

Duck Puddle Campground

Portland Jetport: Smaller airport just over an hour drive or bus ride from our venue. Boston Logan Airport: Larger airport a three hour drive or bus ride from our venue

<a href="https://concordcoachlines.com/route/midcoast-maine-to-from-portlandbostonlogan-airport/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Concord Coach Lines</a>&nbsp;have buses that run between Boston, including directly from Boston Logan Airport, and multiple Maine cities, including Portland, Waldoboro, and Rockland.

Getting around

Shuttle

For those who requested a shuttle, we will have a couple of taxis to bring people to/from the wedding ceremony and reception on Friday. In Rockland, pick-up will be at the Rockland Harbor Hotel at 3pm. One taxi will stop at the Waldoboro Inn and one will stop at Moody's Motel. Both taxis will make the return trip at 10pm, the end of the reception.

Driving

We recommend bringing or renting a car! While there are some taxi services, Maine has limited public transportation in general. Getting around by car is the best option to explore the nearby cute towns and pretty views. You are welcome to drive to and from the venue - there is ample parking on site.
