I am blown away by Gary and Joel. There are two factors that mean the most when working with people/companies for you wedding- minimal stress and superior execution. Both were exceeded! From the first conversation you could tell Gary knows his stuff- the detailed explanation on process and their philosophy on weddings was clear and put us as ease. We had a more casual/party wedding and did not exactly know how properly to balance having special wedding moments with making sure it was a lively, casual party. Well, Gary and Joel knew exactly how to do that! They provided guidance on flow and even went to the space on their own to make sure the setup on the day would be seamless. Beyond logistics, Joel is a music master. He curated an amazing collection of music (90s dance, disco, Motown) that appealed to a variety of ages and kept everyone on the dancefloor. EVERY person at the wedding is still talking about the music. It is one of the most memorable moments of our wedding party. Gary and Joel- THANK YOU so much. We were recommended 74 Events from several friends who have gotten married in the NYC area, and the second we had a call with Gary we knew they were the right DJ company to go with. Gary is so professional and thoughtful. He recommended Joel as our wedding DJ who was OUR HERO. We provided some *embarrassingly exhaustive* playlists to Joel, and he did not disappoint. He did an amazing job of curating our favorites while reading the room and effortlessly throwing the best dance party of our life. We had friends and family reaching out to us days after our wedding telling us how good the music was and how much fun they had dancing all night. Justin from 74 events dj’ed our wedding and he made the night better than we could’ve anticipated! We made a Spotify playlist for the evening, realizing it was harder than we thought it would be to come up with entertaining songs that weren’t just our favorites. Luckily, Justin was able to read the crowd and was able to seamlessly transition into songs everyone enjoyed for the entire evening. His MCing was also very organized and thought out. Gary, the owner of 74 events, was great with communication and helping set everything up pre-wedding. I would recommend this team to anyone looking in the area! Thanks again guys :)

We had the pleasure of 74 Events DJing our wedding. Aaron specifically was the star of the night, and he was very accommodating with our requests. The info that was asked from Gary and team helped make our wedding soundtrack a blast. Everyone was on the dance floor the whole night, and never stopped. Gary and James Arnold from 74 events are the absolute best! Music was the most important aspect of our day and we were very particular when selecting our DJ. We talked to a lot of DJs and didn’t feel they were a match, but from our first call with 74 events I knew we had found the one! Gary was very detail oriented and patient, taking the time to understand exactly what we were looking for. He was very communicative and so quick to reply to our emails. He suggested that James Arnold would fit our vibe and he was completely correct! James was amazing! He took the time to understand us and what was important to us and the type of dance environment we wanted to create on our wedding day. He took our list of do and don’t play songs (which were so specific) and created a playlist that exactly fit the tone of our wedding. We really wanted to ensure that our wedding music was representative of us but was a mix of music for all age demographics without being overly “wedding cheesy” and James delivered! He pulled out some song we had never even thought of and kept our guests on their feet! He checked in with us throughout the night to ensure everything was going according to plan. I really believe the music sets the entire tone of the wedding and 74 Events will help you achieve your vision!

Gary and DJ Aaron couldn’t have been more professional during our wedding planning. Things were extremely organized through the process, and Aaron did a great job mixing our requested music with his own style. He masterfully was able to keep the party going, while not being the center of attention, which was our priority in picking a dj. We recommend 74 events without hesitation!

It was so easy to arrange everything with Gary initially & then to set up the details with our DJ Preston. I can not say enough positive things about Preston… he was so fun to work with, so smoothly MC’d & had the whole night from the ceremony, to cocktail hour, dinner & our reception flow seamlessly! Gary and Ben are a Dream Team! All I wanted for my wedding was to spend the night on the dance floor, and wow did Ben Carlin of 74 Events deliver. One guest called it a "Millennial Dream". Once the dancing started it didn't stop. Combined with Gary's attention to detail in the booking and planning process = dream team. Book them!

We could not be happier with 74 Events - Gary was so wonderful to work with. Was calm and always communicative. He helped pair us with Preston Duggar - an absolute star. Preston listened to our requests (and we have very specific music taste) and had the dance floor packed all night long. Our guests have been raving about Preston and friends of ours have already booked him for their upcoming wedding. 10/10 all around!

Working with Gary could not have been an easier process! While the wedding planning process can be all consuming, Gary made the DJ coordination process more seamless than we could have ever imagined. He is organized, responsive, and provided a ton of helpful info to make sure the day went as smoothly as possible. He selected DJ Navarro for our wedding who was AWESOME!! The dance floor was packed the whole time and he played all of our suggested must playlist. In our coordination call it was clear that Navarro spent time reviewing our intake form and provided really thoughtful suggestions for our music selections. All around really awesome experience!

We’re so glad that Gary matched us with Preston. When we had our first call with Preston to chat about our idea, we knew that we could trust him for our wedding. He paid attention to the energy of our guests and knew what songs to play throughout the evening. All our guests enjoyed the vibe and had such a great time. Preston even had a couple of our aunties staying until the end of the night because they were enjoying the dance floor!

From the moment that we began planning our wedding and decided to work with 74 events, Gary (the owner of 74 Events) made the entire process seamless and stress-free. 74 Events was on our venue’s preferred vendor list. After our first conversation with Gary, we could see that he was extremely professional, organized, and responsive, which made us feel confident with selecting them for our wedding. We were very impressed with how quickly we heard back from Gary and how easy it was to get answers to our questions. We were also able to lean on Gary and James’ years of expertise when figuring out some final details for our wedding, which we greatly appreciated. James did an absolutely impeccable job curating the music for the evening. He was able to work with our wide variety of musical tastes and list of favorite artists and effortlessly weaved them all in throughout the evening. James truly exceeded our expectations and we could not be any happier. There was something for everyone and the dance floor was packed. Everyone was raving about James! Having the right music at a wedding is so important and James nailed it. He did an amazing job reading the crowd and all of the transitions between songs were flawless. Thank you, Gary and James, for helping us have such an amazing wedding.

Our DJ was phenomenal, but the process of finding him was not. Gary is very passionate about his team and often talked over us, and would keep on talking instead of hearing about our event. I spoke for not even 5 minutes on a 30-minute call. This was patronizing and it continued when he nudged us to fill out the music worksheet like it was a grade school assignment and gave us a 10-minute lecture on how to use a microphone. The DJs had no problem playing our short list of customary songs, but Gary suggested we cut most of this. This was especially off-putting because we were talking to the DJ, who had no problem with our list, and Gary would interrupt. He made it clear that his value was in his extensive roster of DJs and in case that wasn’t clear, there are 3 sentences in red all caps lettering in the worksheet that he was to receive a separate check for his services. We were sent 3 DJs: the 1st became unavailable, the 2nd got sick before the event, and the 3rd was our actual DJ. We liked all 3, but they all had different styles. Despite planning for months with the 2nd and with his extensive roster, we were not sent any options and Gary only set up 5 minutes with us to discuss the replacement, who had a completely different style. Thankfully, this DJ was adaptable and adjusted the vibe for our crowd. Most importantly, he ignored Gary’s suggested cuts and played every single song on our list with many more of his own. Overall, we felt Gary added more grief and I would have much rather worked directly with a DJ, who often have their own backups anyway.

We booked 74 Events to DJ our wedding reception, and overall had a great experience. We worked with Gary to coordinate and Preston was our DJ – both great people with really good energy. Gary is obviously very professional and asks very detailed questions to make sure they’re delivering what you’re asking for. He also provided a guide to help those wedding guests who’d be using a microphone for speeches make sure they came through clearly, and everyone sounded crystal clear on the wedding video. If I had to provide any criticism it would be that we got a ways down the road with this vendor before discovering that their policy is to only allow you to select up to 12 songs that are guaranteed to be played at the reception – everything else is the DJ’s choice. I guess I can understand the logic – it’s like why hire a DJ if you just wanted a playlist? But for weirdo control freaks like my husband and me, it was a little disappointing that we couldn’t curate the experience more. Music is really important to us, and we probably should’ve been much more explicit with the vendor in advance that we had a particular vision for the day, so that may be on us. All in all, I’d still highly recommend working with 74 Events.

Gary + Dan were incredible to work with! They think of everything and are super organized. Absolutely zero headaches. Dan, our DJ, kept the dance floor packed and the energy high. A great experience top to bottom.

Pros: it’s great to work with a vendor that has a pool of DJs. My husband had a medical emergency so we had to reschedule our wedding. Gary, the coordinator was very helpful throughout the process and was able to arrange a new DJ for us because the original Dj we chose was not available for our new date. Cons: the DJ we worked with for our wedding was not attentive to our needs. When we had our first meeting, we explained to him that we are a multicultural couple and we wanted that to be reflected in our wedding through music. He asked us to create a Spotify playlist with songs we like and he would make a mix out of that. A day before our wedding, he told us that he would be playing directly from the playlist we had put together which completely threw us off, because that’s not what we understood during our initial conversation. We were very disappointed with how Gary removed himself from this, because there was clearly a misunderstanding and as the coordinator, whom we had worked with and also talked to about our expectations, we were hoping that he would jump in and help clear things up on both ends. Even after the wedding, Gary didn’t reach out to us for feedback. The DJ played afrobeats only at our wedding, even though we provided him with different genres, causing our guests who aren’t familiar with this genre to feel left out. And to add salt to injury, he played the wrong song for our first dance…. We were gutted but we had to play it off. If we had to do this over again, we would not work with this company. It was the only thing that went wrong at our wedding.

Gary is possibly the most detail oriented vendor of everyone we hired. If you have a call at 4pm he's calling you at 4pm on. the. dot. Our whole experience was seamless, both Gary and our entire catering/coordinator staff talked up our DJ Daniel to the point where I was going to be amazed if he lived up to the hype. And then he did. Incredible folks I'd recommend them for any party.

DJ Justin Raymond from 74 Events could not have been a better DJ for our wedding. People were on the dance floor all night long and he perfectly introduced our wedding speeches and dances. 74 Events was so easy to work with and would definitely recommend them and Justin.

74 Events was a hit at our wedding. Gary was a gem to work with, he was on top of all communication and coordination b/w us and the DJ. DJ Vida was incredible, we could not be happier with her. Our guests were wowed by her DJ prowess. We gave her some but not a lot of guidance on what to play. We gave her much leeway and she read the room and played to our guests. They were on their feet the entire evening! 74 Events are professionals and we highly recommend them.

Gary was so organized and I didn’t feel like I had to keep reconfirming details with him. James was our DJ and he was also great. My guests were dancing all night. We really enjoyed working with 74 Events for our wedding ceremony and reception. Gary was extremely communicative and straightforward throughout the planning phase and made sure nothing fell through the cracks. I felt very confident going into the wedding. Pricing was well within our budget. On the wedding day, DJ James arrived early, did a sound check with our officiant and readers and provided an extra wireless microphone for our vows. During dinner, music was not too loud so people could chat, but loud enough that it was fun! DJ James seamlessly managed our first dance, toasts, cake cutting and other important moments during the reception. He played music that kept us on the dance floor for the whole evening! So glad we found 74 Events, look no further!

Highly recommend 74 Events. Gary was an expert at coordinating things in the lead up to the day and helped us find the perfect DJ for our wedding. We wanted someone who knew not just US but also Latin American music since our wedding would be a mix of guests from different cultures. DJ Dan Chaves did an amazing job at our event and kept everyone dancing with a full range of hits from Latin America and the US. We loved it.

From the first time talking with Gary, we knew that we were going to go with 74 Events - he is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and knew the intricacies of our venue which wasn’t a “traditional” venue. He really heard what we were saying and gave us a few options for DJ’s to choose from. We ultimately went with Joel as our DJ and couldn’t have been happier with him! From our first conversation we clicked, he understood what we wanted and we learned that he use to work at one of the bars I frequented during my college years so that was a done deal. He has our guests on the floor all night dancing and singing their hearts out and we got so many compliments on the music! During our final meeting with Gary and Joel, we walked through our survey which was very detailed and included things like songs we needed to hear, a do not play list, names of speech givers, how we wanted to be announced, etc. Gary made really helpful suggestions based on his knowledge of our venue that we went with and unsurprisingly, made the day that much smoother. Multiple times my husband and I said that we would trust Gary to coordinate our whole lives; he is so calming and buttoned up! He also sent along a really helpful video that we sent to our friends/family doing readings or speeches that they all found helpful. Joel reviewed our music selections and the day of we got to head our favorite songs and the vibe was amazing all night! Thank you again to again to Gary and Joel!!

Gary Hoffman/74 events was the best choice ever for our wedding! From the moment we met Gary, we knew he was the right fit for us. He is extraordinarily professional and organized, and had a solid plan for us and our music. He set deadlines that helped keep us on track and left no stone unturned. He matched us with a phenomenal DJ (Preston Dugger) who did a spectacular job taking our musical tastes and creating the musical backdrop for our evening. He also connected us with an incredible electric violinist to complement our DJ. We could not have asked for more! The whole 74 Events team that we worked with was absolutely amazing! Gary was the most organized vendor that we worked with, always making sure we had everything covered and was as easy to work with as possible. Gary and James, our DJ, were absolutely amazing to work with for our wedding last month. Gary was consistently so helpful and thoughtful in providing guidance to ensure a smooth, well-organized event, and did such a great job in identifying James as the perfect DJ for us. After our first meeting with James earlier this year, we hit it off with him immediately and knew he fully understood the vibe we were going for at our wedding music-wise. He delivered on the day and then some with amazing music that fit our taste and style, and we were thrilled to hear so many people, of various ages, tell us how much they enjoyed the music. Gary and James were both total professionals throughout the whole process and working with them was a total pleasure.

We personally loved working with both Gary and Preston at 74 Events. Gary was super thorough, organized and walked us through everything and gave us the necessary worksheets/work for us to provide for both him and Preston. We appreciated the meetings we did have with Gary as it was instrumental in making sure he paired us with the right DJ, getting everyone on the same page and making sure our wedding went smoothly. Gary provided great insight to us for our ceremony music and gave us suggestions and we ended up changing our processional song to make it more upbeat - which we really appreciated. Preston was AMAZING. He understood our music vibe and played great music throughout the entire wedding (ceremony, mocktail hour and reception). He was very accommodating when we had a few song changes in regards to performances which required switching songs at around 30-45secs, 1 minute, etc. It was also very helpful that we had a meeting with Preston and our wedding coordinator to make sure we were all aligned on the music timing and the run of the entire wedding. He was a great MC in terms of managing our attendees, keeping the vibe upbeat and fun. We gave him our wedding playlist so that he could get our music taste and vibe, and incorporated music that he thought would go well during these times. Overall, we LOVED working with both Gary and Preston and would highly recommend going with 74 Events.

We had Daniel Tipton as our DJ for our wedding in August 2023 at 501 Union and it was absolutely incredible! We received so many compliments about Daniel and had so much fun on the dance floor. Daniel was very helpful in providing suggestions to our cocktail hour playlist and paid great attention to our music styles throughout the night. Gary was very involved from the beginning of the process and provided so many helpful tips to our wedding playlist and timeline; his lightning speed on responding to emails was truly fascinating. My husband and I knew we were in good hands after our initial phone calls with Gary and Daniel. Highly recommend Gary and Daniel to be a part of your big day, you won't regret it!

Loved working with Duane and Gary at 74 Events. Duane was such a good DJ and we got a ton of compliments after the wedding. He was skilled enough to meet the audience where they're at and play the wedding classics, but didn't play anything cringe-y and didn't phone it in. The dancing never stopped. We particularly appreciated that he managed to work in the version of the hora that we prefer in the version of the hora that works best for dancing. We didn't ask him to do that, we weren't expecting it, but he made it happen. Great experience.

We cannot say enough good things about working with 74 Events for our wedding DJ. DJ James Arnold was absolutely amazing and read the room so well throughout the night. Using 74 Events was the best decision we made for our wedding. I am not a natural talking to vendors or being the one in charge of decisions but from our first conversation with Gary I felt at ease. All of the conversations leading up to the wedding were comfortable and informative and left us feeling more confident than we had before. Constantine was our DJ at the wedding and he was a huge hit with our guests. I had people coming up to me all night telling me how wonderful he was. My favorite thing Con did: I had requested one of my favorite songs during cocktail hour but it didn’t quite fit the vibe of the other songs. He managed to mix this song in a way that fit perfectly and I still want my own copy of that mix! 74 Events was the perfect mix of professional and personable and I will recommend to everybody for everything from now on.

Gary is an incredibly awesome and responsive communicator who's truly dedicated to making your wedding day sound and music the best it can be. From our first conversation with him, we knew we were in great hands. Our DJ Joel and Gary were both super thorough in prepping for the day - understanding which songs we wanted played when and our overall musical interests. They also provided information to our readers/officiant/us on how to best use the mics and it was so helpful. Joel not only was the best under-the-radar MC, he worked with my sister to put together a last minute performance she'd planned, which went off without a hitch. Once the dancing started, people couldn't stay off the dance floor. Joel was AMAZING. He read the room impeccably and always met the crowd where we were, building up momentum for an awesome dance party. So so grateful to Gary and Joel!

We cannot recommend 74 Events enough. Con was really kind, nice, and a patient DJ. He was wonderful. The most spectacular part of working with 74 Events, I must say, was Gary. My husband and I had a venue change (the Boathouse closed) and we were frantically looking for a new venue. Gary was so incredibly patient and kind as we emailed him 100,000 times asking if Con was available on different dates that worked with different venues we were considering. Gary even went so far to volunteer his time (before we signed a contract, mind you) to provide us with insight on each venue we were considering. He gave us an enormous amount of peace of mind. Wow. TRULY do not know what we would have done without Gary. He is the BEST in the business.

74Events made the lead up to and wedding day an absolute dream come true!!! We got married at Brooklyn Winery in BK in March 2023. Gary (the owner) was very organized, thorough, and communicative sharing timelines and expectations leading up to the wedding day and on the actual wedding day. Dan (our DJ) made sure the vibe and sounds of the ceremony, cocktail hour, intros, speeches, and dancing were all on point. We were so happy to choose them as our DJ. What you can expect from the process: intro call/video chat, a thorough questionnaire that helps you select and curate the music vibe and order of your wedding. Both Gary and Dan were professional throughout.

I can't imagine a better DJ to hire than 74 Events. Between working with Gary on logistics, and our fabulous DJ Aaron, the entire process from start to finish was nothing short of flawless. I absolutely loved working with 74 Events and James ! Everything was so organized and communication was great! Our initial conversation with James was awesome; we talked about music for about two hours haha. My fiancé and I had a specific vision for the music and how it would evolve over the night and James was completely on board. The day of the wedding 74 events and James were amazing! Everyone was up on the dance floor and the party was Rockin ! James is also a really kind human and did a great job as the MC. I would Absolutely recommend booking them for you wedding !

Gary was very helpful and brought up points we didn’t even think of. Our DJ James was great at taking the music we had and making a seamless playlist. Both were such a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend for your next event!

Justin was our D.J. for the day and he was absolutely amazing. Gary and Justin helped guide us through all the whole process. Justin made the best dance mix of our favorite songs and we all danced the night away!

Working with Gary and Preston was better than I could have imagined. They were both very professional and knew exactly what needed to be done. The pre-wedding touchpoints were great to make sure that we were aligned, but there were not an excessive amount of touchpoints (as, like every other couple, we were pretty busy, especially in crunch time). The day of, Preston was there early and was ready to go well before the start of the ceremony to make sure there were no delays. Preston’s ability to read the room and play great music to keep the party going is second to none. We received so many compliments on the DJ.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Gary and Duane Harriott! Gary talked us through all the logistics leading up to our big day, which helped us visualize little details, cover things we hadn’t thought of, and feel at ease. Duane was the perfect DJ - everything ran smoothly and our dance party was a smashing success! Everyone was very sore the next day from dancing so much, which is definitely a sign of a great party. 74 Events are fantastic! Gary, the owner, is organized, professional, and very easy to work with. Dan Arlein, our DJ, was also wonderful. He's a super friendly guy and he did a great job mixing some of the more unusual songs that my husband and I really wanted to hear with more crowd-pleasing options. He had every guest up and dancing!
