Aldrich Guest House Bed and Breakfast

We had the best mini-moon I think possible. My husband and I arrived at the Aldrich Guest House in Galena in the evening and we were greeted at the door by Douglas (who is one of the innkeepers) he was really warm and friendly. He offered us fresh cookies and took us on a tour of the house while explaining the history behind it. They are an updated historical mansion. I liked it because it still had the charm and warmth of an old historical home, but it was updated enough for my husband to feel comfortable and not like he was going to break anything. We decided to have breakfast in our room for the duration of our stay and I have got to say each day the meal was amazing. It was delivered at 8:45am and we could eat it whenever we wanted to. Robert or Douglas would straighten our room when ever we finally left for the days outing. (We like to sleep in)We were left to our own devices when we wanted to be and were able to interact with them whenever we wanted. They were able to set up dinner reservations for us at this really nice restaurant. I would definitely go back and stay with them again, maybe in a different room, maybe not. Robert and Douglas made our mini-moon amazing.
