Anastasia Strate Photography

I cannot recommend Anastasia enough for wedding photography. She is not only exceptionally talented but also so kind and easy to work with. She made us both feel so at ease throughout the day. Given the short window of time on the wedding day she got all of the photos we wanted and then some and directed everyone so graciously and calmly as an experienced pro. If we were to get married again, I would one million times over choose Anastasia again. Thank you for so beautifully capturing our favorite day.

We loved working with Anastasia. She took great engagement and wedding photos for us, and even better was a fun person to be with during these special moments. She made us feel and look beautiful. She is open minded, accommodated all of our special requests, and captured all the photos we requested. We were sad for the big day to end but were so happy and excited to relive the day again through her hundreds (nearly a thousand!) of photos and short slide show. We chose her because of her ability to take gorgeous detail shots, posed family photos, memorable candids, and magazine quality editorial photos. Anastastia is by far THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHER I have ever worked with! We hired her for our wedding because we really like the light and airy style and she was recommended by our wedding planner. And thank god we did!! During our wedding day, she was very professional and gave us great and easy instructions. I never liked pictures that are too posted so she knew exactly how to have a pose without making us look stif or boring. Throughout the whole day, I barley noticed her and her assistance. And when we received our pictures, we were BLOWN AWAY!!! Not only exceeded she our expectations, but she had us both crying on the couch because the pictures were just so beyond beautiful! When it comes to pictures, I am a very picky and particular person. I am not exaggerating when I’m telling you, that I have almost 700(!) favorite pictures! We can’t thank Anastasia and her assistant enough for capturing our wedding day the way they did and wish them all the best!

Anastasia was wonderful to work with for our wedding. She was very friendly, and we had a lot of fun with her and felt at ease when taking our photos (even with the 90+ degree weather). Our photos came out perfectly, and we absolutely love them! She was also very organized and reached out to us in advance of our wedding date with a questionnaire that helped keep things moving smoothly on the day of. We were even late to our venue for photos because of traffic, but Anastasia kept things running and made sure we got all the photos we wanted. She also sent us a couple packages (one before and one after the wedding) that were very thoughtful. We were also originally scheduled to get married in 2020, but when we had to postpone a couple times, she was extremely flexible and understanding. We live out of town but wish we had more opportunities to work with Anastasia again! We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer.

If you're looking for a photographer that will make you look AND feel good, she is IT! I'll start with our engagement shoot - we opted for the add-on shoot so that we could get to know her ahead of our wedding. We are so glad we did this. We brought our dog along with us so that he could be in a few of the shots and she was so accommodating. Doesn't hurt that the photos turned out amazing. It made us more excited for our big day. Cut to our wedding day - again, we felt so at ease with her and she's a great hype woman! Her second shooter was also so easygoing and amazing. They both fit right and it didn't feel like they were there photographing us all day and night. It just felt so natural and easy. We couldn't believe how amazing the photos looked when we received the sneak peeks the following day. HOW and WHAT did she do to capture how magical the day was without making us feel like it was forced?? My only advice - book her an extra hour longer than you expect. Anastasia’s photography is so beautiful and we loved our wedding photos! We hired her for our rehearsal lunch and our wedding photography. She asked great questions in advance of the day to make sure she knew more about us, including that we were not very comfortable in front of a camera. During the photography, she kept that in mind by helping us with direction on our poses and also small details that played out really well in the pictures. She was meticulous in getting our list of family and friend photos done, and then during the events she checked in regularly to ask if there were other photos we wanted to take, so we got in some awesome group shots we didn’t even consider before the day! Anastasia was AMAZING!!! She followed all of our requests and was extremely professional. Made the day so fun and captured our day perfectly. She was always in charge and knew what to do- which made the entire day less stressful for everyone involved. We just got our photos back and they were better than we could have expected. Anastasia is beyond a doubt the best investment we made for our wedding day. My dad is a photographer, so our family has always valued photos and I knew that I wanted to really invest in getting the best possible photographer for our wedding day. After all, photos last forever! We opted not to get a videographer for our wedding day so we knew these would be the only keepsakes we'd have to mark the event, and boy did Anastasia DELIVER. First of all, she was able to create a custom package for us to get the coverage we needed for our engagement photos, rehearsal dinner coverage (including a mini photoshoot of us as a couple and us with many of our family members), and extra long coverage on our wedding day to get all the fun reception shots! When we finally met in person (postponed for a year because of COVID) to take our engagement photos, Anastasia recommended the dreamiest location for incredible photos with bluebonnets, which is what I really wanted. The location also had a spot where we could take photos by a body of water, which I also really wanted! She totally made it happen! Her photos are truly a work of art, and I love the balance she strikes between fine art and documentary style photography. The couple's portraits she took on our wedding day literally look like they were taken in a fairyland and I felt like a princess. She just sees the world like no one else--let me tell you, the venue was nice-looking in real life but the way it turned out in her photos makes it seem like it was the most gorgeous place ever! This is not due to overediting, it's because Anastasia is able to see the beauty in everyday places and communicate that through her art. Not only was Anastasia great at taking the more "posed" shots, she also got amazing candids of my husband and I interacting and of our reception. I think great reception photos are one of the markers of an exceptional photographer. It's not easy to get remarkable shots when everyone is moving so quickly (dancing) and when it's dark, but Anastasia captured those moments beautifully. I can't IMAGINE how I'll be able to choose which photos to display in our house because there are hundreds that I want to see every single day. Anastasia also has such an incredible demeanor--I was SO nervous about taking our engagement photos but she knew exactly how to make me comfortable in front of the lens (without ever having met me in person before!) and our photos look completely natural. By the time we met again for our rehearsal dinner I felt like a photo-posing pro, thanks to her. She knows how to move a crowd without EVER raising her voice, and got all of our more "difficult" family members to pose in the best possible way. She also has a wonderful attention to detail--she notices the hairtie on the wrist, the lapel that's out of place, and she helped me remember not to thrust my chin too high (which is something I'm always doing subconsciously but I hate the way it looks in photos!). Anastasia radiates a calm, powerful, professional, and fun presence that makes her an absolute dream to work with--I can't recommend her highly enough!

We are so happy that Anastasia Strate was the Photographer for our Daughter's recent wedding, as well as the amazing engagement photos. She was genuinely excited to work with us and the wedding pictures are stunning, a true reflection of the artist Anastasia is and her natural talent for capturing beauty. Anastasia is a PHENOMENAL photographer and easily both my husband's and my favorite wedding vendor. She photographed our engagement photos in November 2019, our scaled-back "COVID" wedding in June 2020, and our wedding reception in October 2021. Every single digital and printed photo was beautiful, far exceeding our expectations. Aside from being extremely talented behind the camera, she is kind, compassionate, professional, and easy to get along with. She genuinely cares about her clients, which made working with her so enjoyable. My husband and I were initially pretty camera shy, but she made us feel so comfortable and confident! Anastasia and her assistant made each day such a fun and natural experience—it was truly like hanging out with friends! She was very accomodating and flexible with postponing the reception, which was much appreciated during such a stressful planning period. I was quite overwhelmed leading up to our big celebration this past October—When Anastasia arrived at the bridal suite, I immediately felt a sense of calm. She has an incredible way of being organized and timely while never making you feel rushed. It was extremely windy at our reception, and I don't know how she did it, but you can't even tell in the photos! Something else that stood out to me was that she frequently checked in to make sure I was enjoying the moment, and it meant the world. Honestly, we only have good things to say about Anastasia as a photographer and as a person. She has a forever customer in us for future photos. If you are on the fence about which wedding photographer to book, I promise you will be so glad you chose Anastasia!

I don't even know where to begin!! Anastasia was one of the first people we hired on our vendor list. I found her through social media and loved her work. We were lucky enough to get to have her for our engagement photos and wedding day. The moment we met her I knew she was going to be perfect for us. I would give Anastasia 100 stars! Not only is she and awesome person but her photographs are over the top beautiful and creative capturing every important shot but also the unplanned moments which are some of our favorite photos. YOU HAVE TO HIRE ANASTASIA!!! She is absolutely amazing, and I have so much to say I don't even know where to begin...first of all, she is the kindest person. She had a way of directing our (very large) wedding party and family around on our wedding day that was authoritative, but somehow she still managed to be sweet about it! From the start, Anastasia was awesome. We were not sure about taking engagement photos because honestly I wasn't sure why we needed them. She explained it helped us get more comfortable in front of the camera for our wedding day, and I am SO glad we did them!! She was right! Seemed a lot more natural on our wedding day to do do the poses she suggested. Our engagement and wedding photos turned out FANTASTIC!!!! She knew our venue (Camp Lucy) very well and knew all the best places to take photos. We even went over two different plans for photos ahead of time--one for a cloudy day and one for a sunny day. She was so on top of it, and I never felt like she was going to miss any special moments from our big day. She was a great communicator throughout the process and just made everything so easy. She sent me a list of items I might want to bring to the wedding for our flat lay photos, and that was super helpful. On the actual day of our wedding, I felt like she was never in our face, but, if I looked around, she was always close by making sure she got every little moment of the day. It was everything we could have asked for. You must hire her!!! She is the absolute best!!

Anastasia is such a fabulous photographer! She captured our wedding day so beautifully. She was so easy to correspond with leading up to our wedding and took the time to understand our complicated blended family dynamic -- which is no easy feat! The BEST decision I made during my wedding planning process was hiring Anastasia Strate (other than marrying my husband of course!) We got married during COVID and the process was very stressful for me. After Anastasia took our engagement pictures, I told my husband that I felt confident about zero wedding decisions except that Anastasia was the right choice for our photographer! She was even more incredible on the wedding day. Not only is she super talented, she also makes you feel so comfortable together! She's incredibly nice and easy to get along with and her calm demeanor is just what you want/need on your wedding day. At the same time, she's also assertive, which I needed with my family :) She knew how to step in and help at all the right moments, which wasn't even her job (at one point, she helped pin my sister's dress and then cleared out the bridal suite so I could have a moment of peace - who does that?!). Also, there are a lot of photographers out there, but it's hard to find someone who shoots both digital and film- Anastasia does! Don't underestimate this - it distinguishes a true, talented photographer. I don't live in the Austin area, but would absolutely travel there for any photo needs just to say hi to Anastasia and have her take our photos. I could go on and on about how great Anastasia was but bottom line - she's your girl.

Anastasia did our engagement and wedding photos for our 6/26/2020 photos. Our wedding was originally scheduled for 3/28/2020 but due to COVID we had to reschedule. She was so supportive and positive throughout the whole wedding planning journey and made our wedding photograph a dream come true! One of the best decisions we made for the wedding was to book with Anastasia!!! I don't even know where to start about Anastasia. Booking Anastasia was the easiest part of our wedding planning!! I ended up finding her on Instagram somehow- I was really looking for a photographer that shot natural, beautiful photos and I was SO excited when I found her!! We live in Houston but got married at Camp Lucy in Dripping Springs so I had her shoot our engagement pictures in the hill country as well. Please do yourself a favor and BOOK ANASTASIA!!! There are so many reasons to book her for your photographer even beyond her stunning photography skills. She is patient, kind and genuine. She's also very organized, which makes everything easier when you have a million things going on. She's efficient and also knows how to handle difficult friends, family etc (that comes from first hand experience with my now in-laws...). Her assistant photographer at the wedding was also great!! Most importantly, her photography is just down right beautiful. Nothing looks overly doctored or edited- she just knows how to capture natural beauty and light perfectly weather indoors or out. Having an AMAZING photographer was a top priority for me when it came to my wedding! I am a lover of pictures and started the search for a great photographer the day after I go engaged!!! When I first saw Anastasia's work on the Knot I was drawn in by the beautiful lighting. When we finally met in person for our engagement pictures she was beyond sweet & extremely easy to work with! On top of being great during the session she got us our engagement album back in under 2 weeks (it might have been 1)!! Fast forward she had sent me a photo timeline for the wedding day and it was amazing having her be so organized to make sure we got every shot we wanted! We were happily surprised the morning after our wedding because I already had a few photos in my inbox waiting for me!!! Anastasia truly captured all of the amazing moments from our big day and I cannot recommend her enough!!

Anastasia was hands down our favorite vendor for our wedding. To start - we had no idea what we wanted in wedding planning or what to do but we knew pictures had to be the most important piece so it was what we looked at first. We got married at Gruene Estate so looking through their pictures I was drawn to Anastasia's work at a wedding she had done their previously (some of the angles she had of the ceremony are in short, breathtaking)...immediately I knew I wanted to her to be our photographer. She did our engagement shoot and I knew we made the right decision - she was amazing with dealing with us in 100 degree weather in Texas after a rain storm being attached by mosquitoes, those pictures still amaze me today as to how she was able to capture those. But most importantly, on the day of our wedding, she wasn't just our photographer...she kept the day on track and took some of the hands down most amazing pictures I have ever seen. The first look with my father and flower girls still put tears in my eyes and I feel eternally grateful that we were able to have Anastasia take our photos for wedding. I will cherish those pictures forever and will love sweet Anastasia and use her for any photos we need later in life as well!

We feel so fortunate that we found Anastasia to photograph our entire wedding season. She did our engagement photos, my bridal portraits, and our wedding. THE ABSOLUTE BEST PHOTOGRAPHER!!! Anastasia and her team were such a joy to work with! She FAR exceeded our expectations and really considered what kind of shots we wanted for the day. Hands down the best decision my husband and I made about the whole wedding process was hiring Anastasia. She started with our engagement photos, which was on a SUPER hot Texas summer day, while she was very pregnant with her second child. Those turned out perfectly. About a year later came our wedding. She sent us a little preview of the photos to come and WOW. We don't even have all the photos but from what we have...I have no words. Anastasia captured the most precious and tender moments of the wedding with such elegance and grace and beauty. These photos are timeless and so elegant. They will hang in our home forever. She specializes in natural light, but even my inside reception/church photos turned out perfectly, and that says a lot as the lighting was less than ideal she had to work with. Anastasia is very organized, quick to respond, and pays attention to detail. She has an amazing talent for capturing your special day and all I gotta say it.... BOOK HER! She's simply the best!

We booked Anastasia for our day-of wedding photography needs, and we couldn't be happier with that decision! Anastasia is so sweet to work with, answers emails promptly, and truly cares about her client's needs. On the day of the wedding, everything went so smoothly and on time, it was truly incredible how she managed to take all the photos in the limited amount of time. During the ceremony, she was also very skilled in taking photos without me noticing at all! Afterwards, my husband and I loved that she had emailed us a few sneak peaks photos just days after the wedding and what's more impressive was that we got all our wedding photos just a month later! When we chose Anastasia as our engagement and wedding photographer, we hoped her photos of our wedding would be as beautiful as everything in her portfolio. And they were all that was promised- we LOVE them! What we didn’t know to expect was what a special part of our wedding and the excitement surrounding it that Anastasia would become. She is one of the most thoughtful people I’ve ever known- from bringing treats for our dogs to the engagement shoot (goodness knows I hadn’t remembered any that hectic day and those treats were the only way we got them to look at the camera) to surprising us with a Christmas ornament that looked exactly like our getaway car months after our wedding, she made us feel like the most special bride and groom in the entire world. Your photographer will share in some of the most special moments of your big day and Anastasia fit right in, making us feel comfortable and at ease. Working with Anastasia was absolutely amazing! Her photographs are stunning and bring my family and I to tears every time we look at them. Anastasia was my wedding photographer for my Fall 2018 wedding, at Vista West Ranch. She captured our wedding day more perfectly than I could have ever imagined! I found her on The Knot and booked her after reviewing her portfolio, and let me tell you SHE DID NOT DISAPPOINT! She is extremely reliable and honest, she was always very prompt about getting back to me through text and email. While many wedding photographers take weeks or months to give their clients sneak peek photos, Anastasia sent us a handful of AMAZING photos just days after our wedding. Anastasia was FANTASTIC! I cannot say enough about how great our experience was with her. We booked her over a year out as we had a long engagement, and she never dropped the ball on communication throughout our entire time working with her. She was very attentive to our vision for the day and was very accomodating to meeting me at the venues and sharing her thoughts and advice. I hardly returned from the honeymoon before I had some sneak-peek photos and we had our full album to us less than a month after the wedding. A DREAM COME TRUE! Choosing Anastasia to be our wedding photographer was the best decision EVER! You won't find another like her. First off, Anastasia is so dang sweet and makes you so comfortable in front of the camera (especially if you're uncomfortable being in front of a camera like me!) She also tells you just what to do in front of the camera...like what to do with your hands, where to look, etc. so you don't feel awkward. Communication leading up to our wedding was super easy, as she was quick to respond to alllll of my emails. She also helped us a bunch with our day-of timeline in regards to order of family/wedding party pictures, how to realistically space things out, etc. But obviously the most important thing is that she took absolutely AMAZING pictures of our wedding day. I couldn't have imagined more dreamy pictures captured of the best day of our lives. We will cherish them for a lifetime. Thank you again Anastasia!!

Anastasia is absolutely amazing and wonderful! My husband and I were SO HAPPY to have found her for our May 2018 wedding. 

We’ve heard from several friends and family that finding a great photographer is super important. Most even said that it may be the single most important vendor to have at a wedding! With that advice, I had set out to find the perfect photographer for our wedding. I didn’t know too much about photography myself, but I knew the style of photo I liked. I love natural light photography, where the photos are bright, beautiful and cheery. I looked at several vendors, but something about Anastasia’s photos kept me going back. I loved the way she uses natural light and her photos give off a very romantic, whimsical vibe - which I loved! My husband also looked over her sample photos, as did my parents and his parents, and all of us unanimously thought that Anastasia’s photos were the best. She has great technique and her photos look beautiful, bright and vibrant. 
Anastasia is very professional, reliable and punctual; and was great at communicating via text and email. She truly knows her craft and has a very extensive survey for you to fill out regarding all of your wedding day photographer needs. However, not only is Anastasia super talented and skilled, but she is also such a sweet person! She is so fun to be around and totally makes everyone feel at ease for her shots. She’s so dedicated, she was even working a couple months before she was due for her second child!

 When we received our photos from the wedding, everyone who saw the photos complimented them. They were in awe at how great they looked!!! Every time I go into the gallery to look at the photos, I am transported back to our wedding day with a smile on my face. The photos turned out absolutely stunning!!! They really captured so many memories of our special day - even moments that my husband and I weren’t able to see in person (such as funny/cute antics during our cocktail hour). My mother-in-law loved the photos so much that she’s booked Anastasia for my sister-in-law’s wedding this November! If you love natural light photography with a romantic and whimsical feel, then Anastasia is the photographer for you. We cannot recommend Anastasia enough!

Anastasia is one of the kindest people I have met. I felt like she became a sweet friend by the end of the process. She helped bring our engagement shoot to life and went above and beyond at our wedding. We ended needing more shoot time than expected at our wedding and she was very flexible. Anastasia, was everything and more than we could have asked for in a photographer. She was very professional, organized and patient. Let me just start by saying... I wish I could give Anastasia Strate Photography 10 stars! I could write a whole novel on why she is the best photographer! From the beginning to the end everything was beyond what we could have imagined! Ana was so helpful when we were picking out our wedding photography package, and communication with her was very easy! The first time we met Ana was when we did our engagement picture session, and we fell in love with her! During the engagement session she made us feel so comfortable, and encouraged us to be ourselves so our personality as a couple could be represented (which I absolutely loved!) She didn’t once make us feel rushed. Ana has such a sweet and genuienly friendly personality, which makes it so fun to work with her! When she sent us the link to our picture gallery we were speechless at how beautifully she captured our engagement session. BOOK ANASTASIA NOW! I was very picky with photographers because I wanted my photos to have a certain soft look. I couldn't put it into words until I saw Anastasia's photos. From the detail shots, to the ceremony, to the fun reception photos, she has such a knack for highlighting the happiest, perfect moments. The best thing about her, though, is her humble, genuine, sweet personality. She instantly makes you feel comfortable and at ease. She listens to what you want, directs you in the kindest way, and works her butt off to get the perfect photos for you. She was very pregnant during my wedding, but she STILL went above and beyond in the Texas heat!! I have friends who got married months ago, and they are still waiting on their photos. Anastasia had highlight photos for me while I was on my honeymoon!!!! Now, I have all my photos - every single one of them, and I've only been married for 3 weeks! My friends and family loved her. She is phenomenal. She is amazing to work with. I consider her a true friend.

Anastasia has been the most fabulous photographer to work with over the past year and a half.
