Ally was an amazing teacher. We picked a challenging up-beat song and it was choreographed perfectly! Our guests at the wedding went crazy when we performed ! My husband was nervous but Arthur Murray gave him the confidence to perform like a star.
Thank you to the whole staff for such a wonderful professional experience .

My bf and I have been going for a few lessons now to get our wedding dance ready. Mike has been so great and also so much fun! I think we've both been surprised by how much we've enjoyed it. We've definitely been learning a lot and Mike has been so patient with us! Very happy we went here to learn our wedding dance!
Chris was our instructor and he was amazing. He helped us go through and learn the steps that we were capable of - and we were even able to throw in a surprise lift!
I definitely recommend them and Chris especially!
My dad and I went to the studio in Commack to create a unique, fun father-daughter dance. Tenille was a great instructor and choreographed a Hustle for us to "Dancing Queen" by ABBA. Our dance came out awesome and we were stars of the dance floor.
But beware this place is crazy expensive. They expect you to sign up for one of their packages that cost over $1,000. We managed to pay per lesson but that still almost broke the bank.
The instructors are the sweetest people. Pavel was especially lovely. We worked with both him and Igor to choreograph the father/daughter dance. They worked within our skill level and created a nice, simple dance for us. Highly recommend - it is a fun time!
They did an OK job preparing my husband and I for the wedding dance - they were a little all over the place and there was a LOT of pressure to buy a more expensive/extended package. I felt that they were nice but the sales pitch was too much.
We went to Arthur Murray for dance lessons starting a few months before our wedding. Although they seemed a little pricey, it was well worth it. Everyone there made us feel so welcome inviting us to other dance classes and parties at the studio! James and Sarah were amazing and both helped us so much formulate a beautiful wedding dance with our guests loved! We felt comfortable dancing at our wedding which was one of the biggest things we were worried about! We definitely plan on going back in the near future!
According to our guests, we had the best first dance ever! We danced to a song we selected and our moves were choreographed by the wonderful Victoria. She was great. Dealing with her and the others at the studio was great. We had a blast going to lessons and feel much more confident in our skills. We are hoping to return one day to take some more lessons just for fun.
We loved our dance instructor. Very knowledgeble. She was very patient. We loved learning how to dance so much, that we are taking dance as a hobby together. We definately recommend dance lessons to all couples.
We had a combination of Rumba and Swing for our first dance at our wedding reception. Ramin was our teacher and he was great. Most of all, we enjoyed learning different dances, so we joined their weekly parties in the studio and other studios around NY area. We admire the systematic lesson schedules and the quality of private lessons. The only drawback was that the price was higher than what we expected. After purchasing 10 units, we had to purchase 3 more units to finish learning our choreography. It would be lovely to start their lesson package called "social foundations" but we could not afford this on top of all the wedding expenses. At times, we felt that the sales part was too intimidating. After all, we had fun time during lessons, and a very happy first dance...
The focus seemed more to get us to buy more lessons than to learn a routine. We had 7 lessons and ended up going elsewhere to learn a routine. We learned one dance step per session, it was just too slow and dragged out in order to get us to buy more lessons.
Wow! what a wonderful experience! We used the Arthur Murray in port jefferson. We went just saying we would learn a dance for our first song and would up learning a whole lot more. Everyone there is very nice, helpful and friendly (every time you go in). They cater to whatever dance needs you have and they work with your budget. My husband and I are completely hooked and in the beginning I think he only went to learn for my benefit, but he loves it now!
We went for the 10 package deal- 4 private, 4 group, and 2 party lessons. We just wanted to work on our dance, which we ended up not even doing because it was too choreographed.
Loved going to the classes, very personable. Had fun every night we went!
My husband and I took lessons at the Arthur Murry Studio in Plainview with Ashley and she was wonderful! She helped us to create a first dance and I would highly recommend her!
