The Auburn Hills Marriott Pontiac is a modern hotel wedding venue located in Pontiac, MI. Part of the Detroit metro area, the hotel is situated 12 miles north of the Detroit city limits, about a 40-minute drive from downtown. As a venue, it has 12 versatile event spaces ideal for weddings of all sizes and styles. In the early 20th century, Pontiac was home to the original General Motors Company headquarters. Detroit’s economy flourished due to the automobile industry, and the city’s population rapidly increased. Pontiac grew and developed during this time as it established itself as the capital of the new industry. Much of the architecture of Pontiac’s downtown district reflects the turn-of-the-century style, and provides a charming backdrop for wedding photos.
The Auburn Hills Marriott Pontiac has 12 beautiful event spaces for weddings. With a neutral palette and open floor plans, each area can be easily transformed into your dream venue. The hotel’s terrace and fire pit provide a relaxing outdoor area for a ceremony or socializing. The Oakland Ballroom is the largest area with a maximum capacity of 750 guests. Each of the other rooms is significantly smaller but can still accommodate several hundred guests. Since the venue is well-versed in hosting weddings, they have a collection of wedding items available for rent. Each wedding has access to a complimentary centerpiece, an optional cake server, card box, and deluxe centerpieces for an additional cost. With over 22,000 square feet of function rooms to choose from, you’re sure to find your ideal space here.

We had our wedding reception here and it was amazing! Everything from the service, staff, food, the property itself. We even had a room block for many of our out of town guests and they loved the hotel. Communication leading up to our wedding was excellent. We always felt heard and knew that we were in good hands. 10/10 would recommend this hotel! The staff did an amazing job coordinating with us and even helped us work with our guests and third party shuttle company to get them to and from the venue. We always received quick and helpful responses which makes all the planning a little less stressful. You will be in good hands if you book with marriott :)

Liz and the hotel staff met all the needs of our wedding party and many guests during New Years' Eve week, even last-minute requests for little extras like a bar chair in the bride's room for hair and makeup. They were friendly and welcoming. We prearranged for a night-before private cocktail event and a departure brunch, and the food (especially breakfast) was excellent!

Let me start by pointing out that we had booked the Marriott for our April 2021 wedding back in fall of 2019 (AKA pre-pandemic). We had originally started out planning with Liz, however was swiftly transferred to Gina, whom were both extremely attentive, communicative, and coordinating to our needs. My husband and I really couldn't have asked for a better venue to plan our "pandemic wedding" with. Throughout all of the unknowns throughout the entire year, the Marriott was very reasonable and understanding the entire time, and gave us many different options on being able to safely move forward with our original wedding date.
Our guests were raving about the attentive service, excellent food, and flawless flow of the night. The food was fantastic. The Marriott staff definitely went over and beyond to make sure our whole night went effortlessly. They were an exceptional vendor to work with and I would recommend them over and over again to all of my family and friends!

Liz, the wedding coordinator, was professional, friendly, and helpful at every point. The ballroom was elegant and added to our festivities. The food was excellent and the chef made an AMAZING butternut soup that wasn't officially an option. I'm super disappointed because I'd be back in a heartbeat to order it again.
No bubbles allowed inside, but we ended up using ribbons for the send off and loved them. Setting up is tricky, we didn't know until a week before if we could set up the evening before the noon reception. Otherwise we would've had to set up the morning of. Beware, there is a 24% service charge on top of the normal 6% tax, so add another third to whatever price is listed.

We worked closely with Kayla and then later Liz to plan our August 2019 wedding. We had several unusual requests along the way and both Kayla and Liz were as accommodating as they could be and went above and beyond to make our vision a reality. Of all the venues we looked at, we found the Auburn Hills Marriott Pontiac to be the most reasonably priced while still offering all the same package contents. The venue itself is beautiful. The lobby is clean and artsy, the Oakland ballroom where we had our event is spacious with high ceilings, and the guest rooms are very clean and spacious as well. The bridal suite was also exquisite. There were some mix-ups along the way in terms of room blocks and hospitality room bookings, but Liz went above and beyond to make things right and to make sure we were satisfied with the result. It is hard to balance multiple events at the same venue on the same weekend, but Liz and the Marriott staff made sure the weekend went smoothly and without any hiccups. Liz was extremely responsive to emails and calls, and put a lot of heart and effort into making sure our day was perfect.

We had multiple wedding guests mention how ours was the best wedding they've ever been to! The Marriott in Auburn Hills has wonderful service, fantastic food, and are very accommodating to whatever you want your big day to look like! It's a breath of fresh air to have your lodging and catering and reception venue wrapped all in one- less worrying and work for the couple! Kayla and Liz did wonderfully. Would 100% recommend anyone in the area to consider having their wedding with the Marriott!

My husband and I chose the Marriott at Auburn Hills/Pontiac as our accommodations for our out-of-town guests. We were extremely pleased with our choice! The staff was so helpful with our planning process, and gracious to help with our gift bags for guests! We also chose to stay in one of their suites after our wedding, which also didn't disappoint. There was a mix-up with the delivery of the gift of strawberries and champagne they provided us, and it went to one of the guest rooms. They found out about it, sent it to our room, and gave us free breakfast in the morning too! Can't say enough good about this hotel!

We had a banquet event at this hotel and it was top notch from start to finish. Kayla Keys, event manager, was extremely helpful in making the event flawless. Moreover, the decor and facilities were elegant, and the service very attentive. Rooms are renovated, clean, and sleek. Would definitely recommend for wedding type events and hotel stays.

I cannot say enough great things about this hotel! From day one, the staff was so helpful and made every step in the planning process so easy. We had our wedding here 10/21/17, and everything was perfect! our guests were so impressed with the venue, staff, and delicious food! (seriously, the steak was such a huge hit!!)
The bridal suite was amazing, it had a beautiful balcony which we were able to get some great pictures on!
Kayla was our event coordinator, and She went above and beyond for us! she made sure there was no detail left unnoticed, but She was so organized that it was not stressful in ANY way! she was there the night of our event, along with Tim, and the two of them were diligently working to make sure everything was set up correctly, and went according to plan. they were amazing!
This hotel has everything you could ever want in a wedding venue.. they are organized, clean, the staff is wonderful and so willing to help and accommodate any request. The food was amazing, the rooms are beautiful and the block rate pricing was very reasonable for our guests. Everyone kept commenting on how calm of a bride I was.. seriously, I had no stress on my wedding day, and it was all because of this venue. What more could you ever want on your big day!?

I absolutely loved having my wedding here. The only negative thing that occurred was mid way through planning the wedding our wedding coordinator there had her baby and never told us she was expecting and just left. I emailed and called her for weeks and did not hear anything. Finally I spoke with the manager where I was informed of what happened. I was assigned to a new person which was annoying having to re go over everything and explain the deals that were already given to us. Although those few short weeks were stressful the new worker was amazing and and very helpful. She was great with communication and accommodating EVERYTHING I wanted. If you do go with this venue ask to work with Chelsea!

The planning process was a little difficult because I was passed off twice to a new person. We were booking a block of rooms for the wedding guests, so I originally spoke to that person, who passed me off to another person, who passed me off to her boss. In the end, they were very nice. And the food was REALLY good (we went with the salmon and sirloin off the served menu with cheesecake for dessert). They offer a plated option, and a buffet option. There was a good range of choices, and for 22 people, for a plated dinner, with 4 bottles of wine, and other drinks the total bill was less than $1000. The only day-of issue we had was the room was set for 20, and we had ordered 22 meals (which should, one would think, make them realize they needed 22 chairs!). They did bring extra chairs... but it was something we should not have had to deal with. Otherwise, the service was GREAT, and the food was Terrific. I would recommend them if you are getting married in the area.

I had my wedding ceremony and reception here in May of 2010 and could not have been happier. Karen Perryman was our coordinator, and took care of every single detail, right down to making sure my husband's champagne flute was filled with iced tea since he's not a drinker. Whenever I had a question for her, not more than a day would go by without an answer. And the best part was that she always did it with a smile.
The linens, food, drinks, rooms and guest gift bags were all taken care of flawlessly. My vendors were even amazed at how organized and professional the staff that helped them set up were. I was told quite a few times by guests that it was not only the best food they'd ever had at a wedding, but the best wedding they'd ever been to.
I would highly recommend that anyone with a large guest list have their wedding here. Your guests can come to one place and not leave for the whole weekend, making it very easy on them. The service is impeccable. The space is gorgeous. And Karen and her staff are willing to work with you every step of the way to make your day unique.
