Avon Hill Lodge & Bruce's Barn

Words cannot begin to describe how perfect Avon Hill was for our wedding! We had both our rehearsal dinner and our wedding on site and we had family and friends stay at the Lodge. Every guest was enthralled with the beautiful views that Avon Hill offers and they loved that it was so easy to go from the reception to their lodging. Sarah and Jocelyn were so wonderful to work with, accommodating with viewing the venue prior to the wedding and coming in early on Friday, and answering my many questions as an out-of-country bride. Jocelyn and her husband were so wonderful during our wedding weekend, especially when we had an issues with the air conditioning. They immediately had someone come fix it so our guests would be comfortable. They helped with parking for our guests and Jocelyn drove my husband and I around to the various locations on the property for our photos. I cannot recommend this venue enough to anyone looking for a ceremony and reception in a gorgeous location. We wanted an outdoor ceremony, unique photos, and the barn was the perfect backdrop for our reception. Definitely check this venue out! Thank you Avon Hill!

"When I tell you that I researched over 90 different venues in the VA/MD/DC/PA/WV area that matched my husband and I's parameters when we were looking for a wedding venue, it should give you a pretty good idea what kind of competition Avon Hill Lodge was up against when we chose them for our March 2023 wedding. I had been dreaming about my wedding day for 20 years and had a very specific vision of what that would look like. Before I even stepped foot at Avon Hill, I was crossing my fingers that my husband and I would love it in person as much as we did online. The barn is absolutely stunning. The views at sunset? Out of this world! Getting the venue the entire weekend, getting to stay on site without panicking over transportation, cleaning up all your decor at midnight, or having to rush to see your closest friends and family before they head back to their respective hotels? Sign me up! But Sarah and Jocelyn really give you a sense of the soul of the place. From the initial emails, in person meetings, and site visits, they were always so pleasant, kind, and quick to answer any and all questions I had. I felt like I was planning this event with extended family! They were so incredibly accommodating and you could tell they genuinely care about each and every couple they have on site! My whole wedding party felt so comfortable all weekend. Your wedding day is gone in the blink of an eye, so every precious hour over the fire pit making smores, or drinking a cup of coffee with your siblings the day before the insanity starts is not to be overlooked! We even wound up booking the main lodge Thursday night, giving us precious time with some of our family and time to get settled in. We are already trying to figure out how to come back for more family reunions and other events in the future, just to experience the Avon Hill hospitality again! "

My husband and I had our wedding take place at Avon Hill last weekend (05/29/2021). Even though it was cloudy and rained, Avon Hill and their staff helped to make our wedding absolutely perfect. We rented out the entire place, including all the lodging options for our family and close friends to stay on site which made our wedding feel almost camp-like, which is exactly what we wanted. It was so wonderful to have everything be in one place and be in our own isolated bubble from the outside world. The staff at Avon Hill is extremely helpful and accommodating, they have a wide variety of decor on site and are so eager to help. Would 100% recommend them to anyone searching in the Central Virginia area, they were perfect.

My husband and I had both a micro wedding in May and a small reception later on with friends and family. Sarah was so wonderful and flexible throughout our changing plans and the craziness of 2020! She gave us all the help we needed to make our day perfect! Avon Hill Lodge and Bruce's barn was the PERFECT location for us. Picturesque mountains and beautiful sunsets along with an airy barn made for a beautiful wedding. In addition I loved that all our family could stay on site. We were able to have our rehearsal dinner and brunch on Sunday morning and not even have to drive anywhere! I could not recommend this venue enough.
