My wife and I had absolutely amazing experience at Ballyowen Golf Club for our wedding. From the initial tour, planning the wedding, food tasting, all up until the day of, everything was perfect. The communication of the staff was great. They were very responsive to all our emails and questions. The rehearsal day and day of, they were extremely attentive and helpful with everything. Their collaboration with all our vendors was great. They really assisted with making sure we were following our day of timeline and staying on track with the schedule, which took a lot of stress off of us because we could just focus on enjoying the day. The food and drinks were so delicious, and this was something we really valued since we’re both huge foodies! The cocktail hour and receptions area were beautifully arranged. Our guests are still talking to us about how beautiful the day was and how delicious the food was. We highly recommend Ballyowen for a memorable wedding experience!
Our entire wedding process was extremely smooth. From the initial tour and date selection with Julie to working with Silje, our day of wedding coordinator. The staff were professional and kept in communication throughout the months leading up to the wedding and always answered my questions in a timely manner. The day of was perfect! Our bridal suite was great and the venue was stunning. Easy transportation arranged to and from the hotel was another plus. Food and drinks were fantastic as well (well cooked steak, signature cocktails, big selection, tons of appetizers during cocktail hour, etc.). Loved having the all in one package with drinks and food. Our cocktail hour was HUGE! I also think that my vendors had a good experience with communicating to Ballyowen staff beforehand and setting up during the day. Would highly recommend to anyone looking in the area.
My husband and I had our wedding here in June 2023 and everything was wonderful! From when we first went to view all the venues, the communication and support throughout the wedding planning, and the day of. We had the best day and all of our guests kept raving about the food and so much space to mingle and enjoy the night! Would absolutely recommend having your wedding here!
We had our wedding on 5.27.23 at the Ballyowen Golf Club venue. Silje and Julia were amazing and made the process so easy! I had a lot of questions and they always put me at ease! The venue was the easiest part of wedding planning! Our guests raved about the view from cocktail hour and even the food from the reception! Mark was my assistant for the day - and he was amazing! He was one of our favorite parts of the day! He was so attentive! We can not recommend Ballyowen enough - from the terrific staff to the beautiful venue itself! Everything went perfectly! If we could do it again, we would choose this venue over and over each time!
We couldn't have had a more beautiful and extraordinary wedding without the help of the amazing Ballyowen staff. Everything went smoothly from planning to reception! We loved it and are so happy we chose to have our reception here! Our guests gave many compliments about the venue itself, the service and the food! Special thanks to Mark for making sure we as bride and groom had everything we need while taking pictures and through out the reception! Silje, you were a spectacular coordinator and so helpful! The venue is beautiful inside and out! Very romantic!
We were so lucky to find our perfect place on the first day of searching, having toured all five properties of the Crystal Spring collection Ballyowen was the one. It can’t be said enough about how perfect our day was on June 18, 2023. From the moment we arrived for the tour to our last goodbyes that night, joy is the only word that can describe how we felt. Julie and Silje took every chance to communicate with us along the way for how to plan our event, provided a timeline of each step and helped with our final choices. The food tasting was superb as was the overall presentation, taste and abundance of food provided to our guests. They also made sure to accommodate our guests with dietary restrictions. They truly made us feel like family and still five months later, we receive compliments from our guest of how much they enjoyed themselves which was our goal. The outdoor ceremony area has such a wonderful view of the majestic scenery in Hamburg which provided a stunning backdrop to our day and I knew this was our place the moment my now wife saw it for the first time. The atmosphere of the main building is one I would call intimate with the ability of opening the main windows giving a feel of openness and warmth. There were fire pits our guests enjoyed as well as the cocktail hour having indoor / outdoor seating throughout. We had a headcount of 90 and there was plenty of space for additional tables if needed. If you desire a reasonably priced, soup to nuts fantastic venue for your big day, Ballyowen will not disappoint.
My now husband and I held our 10.22.23 wedding here. From the moment we took our tour with Julie in late fall 2022, we were determined to quickly book a fall 2023 wedding. The selling point was the gorgeous fall foliage and mountain views. The staff were all professional, responsive, and accommodating. Julie was our main contact for about six months and she was helpful and kind. Then we were connected with coordinator, Lee, who we cannot say enough nice things about. Lee was so responsive to all of our contacts and helped put our minds at ease. It's stressful planning a wedding and your mind is racing every second with details but it was comforting knowing that Lee and the Crystal Springs staff were quick to answer. Our food tasting also blew us away and we knew that the food would be excellent on the wedding day. Unsurprisingly, we received so many compliments on the setting and food from our guests! All of our items were set-up with care and the bridal suite was a blessing to have throughout the day and night to get ready in and store our belongings. We cannot forget to mention our maitre d' Nicole! Nicole was present throughout the wedding as needed and handled all the details and communication with the vendors to ensure that everything ran smoothly. She took us and our photographers and videographer out on the golf cart (in the freezing cold!) to help us capture our photos and even offered us hand warmers. Thank you, all, for an unforgettable wedding. :) Do not hesitate to book Ballyowen for any special event!
We got married at Ballyowen in October of 2023. We had such an amazing experience from start to finish! The day was everything we could have hoped for and more. The staff made us feel at ease and were such a big help that day. The venue was stunning and all of our guests raved about it. The hills and scenery around the golf course was so beautiful and we had amazing pictures all day and during the ceremony. The food was great and guests even told us they had never eaten so much at a wedding before!
Everything was amazing! The venue is gorgeous and the grounds are breathtaking. I got so many compliments about the food. The shuttle service with the minerals hotel was great and the Minerals Hotel was fantastic.
To say that Ballyowen Golf Club was the best decision my husband and I could have made is an understatement. We first met with Julie who took us on a tour. We already loved it from the moment we drove up the driveway, but working with Julie made us love it even more. She was so kind and quick to answer any questions we had. Julie also replied promptly to any email I sent. The communication was excellent!
6 months before our wedding date, Lee, our wedding coordinator reached out to us to schedule our food tasting and to answer any questions we had. The food was FANTASTIC and everyone was so nice.
Lee has been with us throughout the entire process and she was absolutely phenomenal to work with! She was so friendly and organized and we couldn't have asked for a better wedding coordinator!
On the day of, Lee made sure all of the decor was in place, the shuttles were good to go, and even fluffed my dress before I walked down the aisle. We seriously didn't have to worry about a thing because she took care of it all!
After the first look, Marc, our Maitre D', took us and our photographer around on a golf cart to take pictures. Marc was also such a pleasure to work with! He was there making sure we had everything we needed throughout the entire night. While my dress was getting bustled, he even brought me some food and a drink so I wouldn't miss anything.
Ballyowen took care of the food, the cake, the linens, and the decor, which we handed off to them. Not to mention the beautiful space that made our wedding look like it came straight out of a magazine.
Overall, our wedding was like a dream and that is all thanks to the team at Ballyowen. We seriously can't stop raving about the food, the atmosphere, and all of the people we had the pleasure of meeting. Thank you, Ballyowen, for our dream wedding!
Everything was perfect the day off. But leading up to the day made the whole event smooth sailing. The coordinator Lee was beyond helpful, answering every question and working right beside us every step of the way. Mark the day off made sure we were well taken care of bringing us food and drinks throughout the night. The venue was amazing down to decor to the food and drinks. Several guests commented on how beautiful the venue was and how wonderful the food was. Every single person left happy and satisfied included the bride and groom. I couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect wedding.
Ballyowen is the place to have your wedding, hands down. Even though it rained and we couldn't do the ceremony outside, our wedding day was PERFECT! It was great working with Lee, Julie, Silje and Nicole and everything went off without a hitch! Thank you to the team for making our day so memorable and fun!
Ballyowen Golf Course at Crystal Springs is a beautiful venue. We had our wedding here and every detail was perfect. The staff are top tier and are incredibly supportive and helpful through the entire planning process. We would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone.
I had my wedding ceremony and reception at Ballyowen this past weekend. My guests were blown away that they were still in NJ. The rolling hills, open skies, & lush greenery gives you the feel of a destination wedding without going far. Aside from dressing like a princess in my dress, the staff made me feel like one! On top of the beautiful ambiance and amazing staff.. the food was delectable!
Ballyowen Golf Club is an absolute dream venue. From the incredible landscape, delicious food, and wonderful service, they truly have it all. Our entire team was extremely pleasant to work with, Julie, Silje, and our maitre d, Mike. We truly felt they cared about us and our experience. One of our favorite memories was riding on the golf cart for photos. Our guests are still raving about the food! The bartenders were also extremely efficient, there was never a line! Do not overlook this venue, it’s truly one of a kind.
My husband and I just recently got married at Ballyowen Golf Club and were completely blown away. From first being in contact with their wedding sales manager, Julie, we knew Ballyowen was the perfect venue for our big day. Julie is very knowledgeable, personable and patient. She answered about 100 questions from us throughout the planning process before we were introduced to our wedding coordinator, Taylor, who was equally as amazing. Taylor unfortunately parted ways with Ballyowen about a month before our wedding, which is when we were introduced to our new coordinator, Lee. Lee did not skip a beat and after our first call with her we knew we were in great hands! She had all of Taylor’s detailed notes ready to go and not even one minor detail got lost in translation. That brings us to the big day. Julie and Lee were both there all day long, attending to all of mine and my bridesmaids’ needs. Everything was set up meticulously and beautifully. They both made sure to watch me walk down the aisle and held on to both my dress train and veil to make sure they didn’t blow away on a super windy day. We were then introduced to our Maitre’D for the evening, Mike. Mike was our right hand man for the rest of the day. From bringing us plates of food and champagne in the bridal suite for some alone time after the ceremony, to making sure our band had enough time to play, to keeping us laughing all night long, Mike was absolutely phenomenal. I truly feel like Julie, Lee and Mike are now family. We’ve received endless compliments about how beautiful the venue was, how amazing the food was and how much fun every one had. The icing on the cake was how affordable Ballyowen was compared to other venues we inquired about with less than Ballyowen’s top notch service. If you are thinking about booking Ballyowen as your wedding venue, just know that they will completely exceed all of your expectations!
We loved our wedding at Ballyowen Golf Club. Julie was great to work with (especially through the last year with all the ups and downs regarding COVID restrictions), the venue was beautiful and the food was fantastic. Our guests were very happy. Silje, the day-of coordinator, did a great job managing the ceremony when it started raining just seconds before we were about to walk down the aisle.
We have to take a star off however for the hotel management and room reservations department. On multiple occasions over the last months our guests were put through extra confusion to find and book our wedding block. It was inconvenient for guests to have to spend the time to call reservations instead of being able to book online. Many of our guests (including my grandparents) were told that our wedding block didn't exist or didn't have rooms left, when we did. We even had issues checking into rooms the weekend of the wedding. It seems like the resort needs to update the systems they use because it was a headache for us and our guests all year to deal with clueless staff and endless automated phone messages to fix the room block issues.
On the day of the wedding, the second shuttle also didn't pick up guests at Grand Cascades for whatever reason, and my grandparents again were left in the dust and came late to our ceremony. Mistakes happen, but there were lots of small(ish) things like that throughout the experience. We wish they paid closer attention to details on the hotel staff/management side.
Again, OVERALL the wedding was beautiful and we were happy -- the venue is fantastic and really takes care of everything you need to pull off a great wedding -- but there were some stressful times dealing with the room block at CSR.
The Ballyowen venue and grounds are just breathtaking!! We booked them in 2019 for our original June 2020 wedding date and were so grateful for the ease of the booking and covid rescheduling processes. The team members we worked with - Julie Hoffmann, Sarah Mugavero, and Silje Rendine - were so responsive every step of the way and really went out of their way to accommodate every special request or change we made to ensure that our day was perfect. We are so thankful for example that Silje still took us out on the golf cart for photos despite the 95 degree weather on our wedding day! The food was incredible, the staff were wonderful, and the wedding was perfect. The gorgeous sunset at the end of the night was the cherry on top!
We could not have been happier with our wedding at the Ballyowen Golf Club. Julie made planning our wedding during COVID as stress free as possible and was always available to answer questions. Silje alleviated all of my worries surrounding the final, small details of the day and made sure everything went off without a hitch. Our maitre d, Mark, was absolutely spectacular and took great care of my husband and I throughout the night. Overall, the food and atmosphere were amazing and our family and friends could not stop talking about what a great time they had.
This might be unconventional to write a review before our wedding, but current COVID brides should know how wonderful it has been to be working with Julie at Ballyowen Golf Club, despite all of the tribulations this disease has given the world.
My fiancé and I were engaged on 3/8/2020, just a week before restaurants and stores closed in New Jersey. The day before restaurants closed, my mother and I looked at all of the venues available at Crystal Springs. Ballyowen was by far the most beautiful, private, and within our budget. We were so thrilled to have chosen this venue. Julie was kind and accommodating, as I could not show both my family and my in-laws the venue at the same time due to COVID.
As months past and worries of ever having a wedding subsided, it did not derail us from moving forward. We had an absolutely delicious food tasting, adhering to all of the guidelines of indoor dining set forth by New Jersey.
Our date is moving closer, as are our concerns for having a wedding that we were dreaming of pre-COVID. While things may not look like it once did for some time, Julie assured us of the current guidelines and gave us a picture of our worst-case scenario. I feel so relieved and happy to know that holding a wedding at Ballyowen with food, cocktails, and dancing is still within our reach!
I am so happy to have chosen this venue, and I cannot wait to post a review after my wedding.
We were supposed to be married 4/17/2020 and due to COVID we obviously were unable to get married and had FOUR different dates booked with Ballyowen. Throughout this we were communicating with Julie who truly was patient and kind with all my questions and concerns. Julie communicated with me throughout all of the regulation changes over the past few months and we were finally able to get married on 10/30/2020 with 78 guests in and outdoor event. It was COLD but the staff had heat lamps, floor heaters and a fireplace to help make everyone as comfortable as possible. The food was delicious and plentiful. The venue looked GORGEOUS and our sneak peaks are beautiful as the property is simply stunning. After MONTHS of stress, I'm so so happy with the way everything turned out. Luis, the maitre'd, is just amazing - really goes out of the way to assist you and make you feel like royalty. The only minor issue we had were bees flying around and two of our guests did get stung.
Our 10/09 wedding was a dream come true all thanks to the staff at Ballyowen. If you are looking to wow your guests with delicious food and a GORGEOUS view then look no further!!! Luis is AMAZING!! My husband and I were never without food or a drink in our hand thanks to Luis and his staff. He even set up a private cocktail hour for us after our ceremony so that we could enjoy some food. Thank you Luis!!!
Being a bride during this crazy time was super stressful, but Julie was so communicative which helped tremendously. She even helped decorate my sweetheart table and made sure everything was were it was supposed to be for the reception! They accommodated for the potentially cold weather with heaters around the pavilion and lighting the fireplace. It truly added to the ambiance of the wedding.
And the ceremony space on the 10th hole?!?! SO BEAUTIFUL. Our pictures from our ceremony are amazing. Our guests cannot stop talking about how beautiful the ceremony location was. Ballyowen truly went above and beyond to accommodate weddings safely during this time.
Thank you Ballyowen !!
Our 10/3 wedding at Ballyowen was beautiful and I am so glad we chose this venue. The food was great, the venue itself was clean and gorgeous, and our maitre d’ Luis was a GEM. Luis and the waitstaff were constantly checking on us, making sure we always had a drink in our hands and that us, our parents, and our wedding party were happy, comfortable, and taken care of. I cannot say enough nice things about them, they were truly wonderful.
During the planning process, we did struggle at times with Julie, as she seemed disorganized, following up to ask about things that were already clarified in earlier emails, even pulling up the incorrect event list on the day of our wedding (for a different wedding altogether). Though, I will say, despite my frustrations, she made sure to take care of everything I asked ahead of time including communicating my food allergies to the chef and the bakery, and helping to pull together the decor in the room to perfectly execute my vision.
My only other complaint is that during the day, Julie gave our photographer the keys to a golf cart and told us we are free to explore the course and take photos anywhere as long as there isn’t a game of golf on that hole. While we were driving the course, we were chased by a player assistant (an employee of Ballyowen) who immediately began to yell at us for being on the course, despite the fact that we were given the keys by Julie and told we were free to go. It felt like (even though I spent tens of thousands of dollars for that single day), I wasn’t entitled to use the space as promised in my contract, that the golfers were the more valued client to the venue.
In spite of any hiccups, our wedding was BEAUTIFUL and I couldn’t be happier with our choice, I would pick Ballyowen again if I had to do it all over again :)
We were married at Ballyowen Golf Club this summer and it was a dream come true! The venue is stunning and the view is absolutely beautiful for pictures. We cannot say enough about Louie who was our Matire D for the evening. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Julie was our wedding coordinator and did a great job. She was very helpful throughout the entire process while bringing the vision we had for our wedding to life. We are still receiving compliments about the delicious food, gorgeous views, friendly staff and overall amazing venue.
I've been waiting for over a month now for a refund from Ballyowen. Excuses after excuses have been heard, and I'm tired of it. Guests have been checking into the hotel, weddings have been held and are still currently being booked. I really don't see the hold up. I am so close to hiring a lawyer. Also if anyone has any insight, would seomone be able to tell me if they held a wedding on september 7th 2019.
Thank you Marie. I know people who were there yesterday. Some at the wedding and others golfing. This event was over capacity and not an outdoor venue. There were 10 tables set up inside seating 10 to
12 people per table. This is clearly not an outdoor venue and provided no social distancing.. They are putting employees and guests at risk.
Yesterday at Ballyowen Golf Club held a wedding reception going against multiple mandates regarding COVID-19. It was indoors with 150 guests plus workers in a space with a 150 person capacity. No one was social distancing. People got up from their tables to mingle or wait at the bar or photo booth. None of the guests were wearing masks at any point in the evening and there were a lot of old people in the room. All the workers wore masks though, so they care if their worker spreads the disease, but not if they catch it.
Ballyowen clearly cares more about their bottom line than the health and safety of those who come on to their premises. Would not recommend unless you too also care more about yourself than others.
I could not have picked a better venue. I got married October 4th the scenery was gorgeous. First off Julie is great and helps with all the information and questions that you can think of. Once booked Silje the wedding coordinator takes care of everything you need. She is super friendly and informative and fast at responding. On the day of the wedding she made sure everything ran smooth along with Luis. I cannot praise Luis enough he was absolutely extraordinary. My day would not have ran so smooth if not for him. The food is great the cake was beautiful, the staff was excellent and friendly and the venue is just beautiful.
We got married Oct 6, 2019 and we honestly did not know what to expect. We heard good things from friends and positive comments online, but you never know. The process leading up to the big day was ok. I think Ballyowen and their staff do a pretty good job, especially Silje. But Crystal Springs Resort as a whole are not necessarily a breeze to deal with. Their customer service is not up to par.
Anywho, the day of the wedding was just fabulous. And that is mostly thanks to LUIS and his staff, who did a superb job at making sure we were taken cared of at all times. The timing of things was excellent, the service was on point, and the food and drinks were everything we hoped for. The venue itself with its rolling hills and gorgeous views are majestic. Every guest commented on how pretty it is.
All in all, I highly recommend this venue. You will have to be a little patient at first, especially if you have people staying overnight at one of their hotels. But other than that, everything was just perfect.
We got married at Ballyowen on 7/5/19 and we have nothing but wonderful things to say about the entire process!! From the first meeting until the last Julie, Silje, and the entire staff provided us with everything we needed! Silje took care of all of the planning and made the transition from planning to reality seamless. Once the reality took shape, Louis helped in so many ways! He was a wonderful person to work with the day/night of the wedding. Kyle and I did not have to worry about ANYTHING! We had the wedding of our dreams thanks to everyone at Ballyowen!! All of our guests keep raving about the night and we could not be happier!
My husband and I were married at Ballyowen 9/22/19 and we could not of picked a better venue! Julie, Silje & Louis were amazing and super accommodating throughout the whole process! Our wedding day was absolutely perfect. Louis made sure we always had a drink in our hand, and brought us a huge plate of our cocktail hour foods so we wouldn’t miss out. All the food was sooo good! I would definitely recommend Ballyowen Golf Club to anyone searching for a venue.
We just got married at Ballyowen and it was FANTASTIC! Everything there runs like a well-oiled machine and it really helped make everything perfect.
Silje was very responsive and helped answer lots of one-off questions. The day of, she was really thoughtful in setting up everything exactly as we had asked. She even set up 100+ little succulents with our table cards in them!
Louis was very attentive once the wedding began and helped to make sure everything was running smoothly timing-wise. One thing we really appreciated was that he made sure we got a tasting plate of everything we had selected for cocktail hour!
All in all, I couldn’t recommend Ballyowen more highly. From the beautiful views to the delicious food and top-notch staff, it made our wedding day perfect!!!
Some tips if you are getting married there:
1. It’s a links-style course, so there really is no shade! If you are getting married in the summer in the afternoon/evening you will likely be standing in full sun! Cloudy weather is actually ideal for the photos and comfort.
2. There is a fire pit outside, so if weather permits bring s’mores supplies! Our guests loved that!
3. The ceiling in the reception area is very dark. We added white paper lanterns to brighten things up a bit for photos.
4. Definitely ask to get a golf cart to go out on the course to take photos! It was fun and there are so many beautiful spots.
This venue was FANTASTIC! Absolutely beautiful, professional staff, fantastic food, and the space was perfect for our size wedding. Silje was so wonderful and responsive to anything I needed while planning (including about 100 week-of requests and questions), and was MVP when she stepped in to save the day when our florist completely dropped the ball. She made sure every detail was perfect -- from all of the pictures and decor items I brought, our camp-fire s'mores set-up, and our requests for the outside set-up post ceremony. And then there is Luis!!! OMG was he fantastic -- and all of our guests noticed!! He literally did it all. So many little details -- he took care of our groomsmen while we took portraits, he made sure we got to try everything from cocktail hour (he even made sure I ate!!), our drinks were always fresh, he even took care of a sick guest. And the big things -- our buffet style dinner was EXACTLY how we envisioned it, everything was delicious and timely, there was NEVER a wait at the buffet, and my husband and I got to truly enjoy every single second of our reception. The entire day was smooth and our guests had an absolute blast because of how wonderful the staff was at Ballyowen. Cannot thank them enough for the most perfect day!
From the moment we saw Ballyowen, we knew it was our venue as we kept comparing everything else to it. If you are looking for a venue that is not a traditional New Jersey, gaudy, ballroom wedding, but embodies a rustic elegance Joanna Gaines would dream up, you've found your venue. Our coordinator, Silje, was so great and answered every question and email quickly and with lots of patience (and I had lots of questions!) She set up all of my DIY decor beautifully and truly made me vision come to life. Likewise, our maître d', Luis, was phenomenal! I never was without a drink, and he prepared a ton of food for us in our bridal suite for after our ceremony so we could have a few minutes alone to eat together before the craziness of the day continued. Likewise, when my dad had forgotten to give Luis the sparklers I had brought for a photo with our bridal party, Luis quickly found left over sparklers left behind from another wedding and lit them for us! And speaking of food earlier, there was an abundance of it and people raved about how amazing it was! We have quite a few foodies in our family who would not hesitate to tell us what they thought and they said it was the best food they've ever had a wedding- they even had lots of vegan options for some of our vegan family members. Beyond the food and the gorgeous wooden ceilings, stone fireplaces, cobblestone floors, bag piper who played for our guests as they walked to the reception, and bistro lights in the reception room, you just cannot beat the views. We had the most gorgeous, picture perfect day allowing us to get married outside and our guests were floored by the stunning course and mountains in the distance. We had about 100 people and it felt like the perfect amount for Ballyowen - I wouldn't have more than 125 in that space. However, it was genuinely the best day ever! If you are looking for a beautiful and unique space for an intimate wedding, go see Ballyowen!
My husband and I just got married at Ballyowen, and it was truly the most incredible day of our lives. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful and private, and is perfect for pictures! The restaurant holding the cocktail hour is beautiful with a large bar, plenty of seating and a wraparound deck! The reception room has glass doors all around and a patio, a large dance floor and bar, and is wonderfully maintained. They have a beautiful bridal suite to get ready in. The outdoor ceremony space has the most incredible views and is perfectly maintained. The food and cake were absolutely amazing, and all of our guests raved about it!
I cannot say enough good things about all of the staff! Luis, the Maitre D’ is so kind, attentive and amazing at his job. There was the potential for thunderstorms on our day and he tracked the weather all day, kept me calm, informed, and had a plan all day on top of his general responsibilities. He kept a perfect timeline around the weather forecast, and thankfully it was sunny and beautiful all day. He had a drink in my and my husband’s hand all night, and made sure we had a private room during the cocktail hour laid out with food so we could relax and celebrate our marriage privately for a few minutes after we took our pictures! From there he continued to run the rest of the reception flawlessly and even altered the timeline of the cake cutting when he saw my elderly grandmother was getting too tired to stay out for the entire reception. He genuinely cared about us and did everything he could to make our wedding perfect.
Silje, the wedding coordinator was very nice to work with, and answered all of our questions along the way! She let us drop off all of our supplies a week early, and helped with picking out linen colors and other layouts and ideas, and checked in repeatedly on the wedding day. Julie, who gave us the initial tour and booked the wedding was also great to work with, and was very kind and accommodating like Silje and Luis! All of the other staff working at Ballyowen worked flawlessly as well!
Ballyowen was the perfect place for us, and we would recommend it to anyone!
I just got married at ballyowen on Saturday July 6th- two days ago... and I could not wait to come on here and rave about the venue and the staff. The venue was not only breathtaking, but everyone who worked there was great. The entire day was absolutely amazing. I was stressing over weather and Louis our maitre d’ was on top of everything- constantly checking in and letting me know everything was going to be okay and we did end up having the most beautiful ceremony outside. Louis was phenomenal all day and night not just with us but also my parents. Always making sure we had what we needed and were taken care of. Silje our coordinator was amazing throughout the entire planning process as well. Always available to answer my 1 million questions! She was great- knew exactly what she was doing and always kept me calm. It is exactly what I needed, and also my now husband. 10/10 would recommend.
Oh man- where do I start with Ballyowen and their staff? I begin to tear up just thinking about how perfect our 6/14/19 wedding there was - it was just a magical day! The main reason for that, besides the beautiful location obviously, is the staff: Luis (maitre'd) and Silje (wedding day coordinator) specifically. From the very beginning of the wedding process, both of these individuals did everything they could, answered every annoying question possible, to ensure that we had everything we needed for our big day. They were both extremely responsive and helpful and patient - the perfect mix to my neurotic Plan-A self. My husband and I searched high and low for the perfect venue - not too wedding-factory-like, something rustic and not too over the top, a place that was small enough to be intimate but large enough to be host a big ass party. Balloywen definitely fit the bill - throw in Luis and Silje and there was honestly no place better. On the big day, Silje and Luis wouldn't leave my side - they were constantly checking in with me and my family and the wedding party to make sure we were all good. Anything we needed, they were there. Luis was with us for the majority of the reception - his service was unbeatable. Always making sure my husband and I were eating, that we had a drink. My dress ripped at some point in the night, he found safety pins, brought me to the side to help me fix it so people would stop tripping on it. They both made our night the best day ever and we can never thank them enough. You will absolutely not go wrong having your wedding here - there is no place and no one better!
We absolutely loved every aspect of our wedding day at Ballyowen! I had attended a wedding there many years ago and it made such an impression on me that day that I immediately thought to check it out for our own wedding. This was the first venue (we only looked at 2) that we saw and I'm so glad that we decided to have our wedding here. Our wedding coordinator Silje was very helpful and responsive throughout the whole process and made the day go super smooth. We chose the gold package for our day. It was extremely affordable compared to other venues in the area and includes so much! The food was amazing and I was blown away by how beautiful our cake was too! Our Maitre d' Luis was also extremely attentive throughout the whole night. Above all is the amazing atmosphere and views you get from the ceremony spot and patio right outside the reception room. All of our guests raved about how beautiful the spot was! It didn't hurt that we had a picture perfect day. I would highly recommend Ballyowen to anyone looking for an amazing venue for their wedding!
Ballyowen and Crystal Springs Resort greatly exceeded our expectations. The wedding planner assigned to us was outstanding and and made all our requests happen. Everything from the food to the atmosphere were extremely classy. The club is located on a beautiful golf course with picturesque rolling hills. Our guests had a great time and could not stop talking about how amazing the food was. The package we picked offered a lot including a beautiful wedding cake and other nice touches such as welcome champagne for our guests at the wedding. Our maitre'd the night of was so attentive and helpful and even helped with my disabled father which really lessened my stress. I would highly recommend this venue.
We loved our wedding at Ballyowen and it was an absolutely perfect day! We went for the platinum package and had about 90 people at our wedding. Everyone absolutely raved about the cocktail hour and how delicious the food was. We were able to sit and eat our main course which was also delicious. Overall, the service on the day of was incredible. We loved our matire-d—he checked in on us frequently and kept the night moving without making us feel rushed. Though the wedding ended at 11, no one rushed us out of the space, which we appreciated since we were all still enjoying the evening and the fire pit!
The setting was absolutely perfect and extras like the fire pit really made our wedding extra special. Our guests were blown away by the views and we were so happy to share this stunning slice of NJ with our family and friends!
With the package, we had a "honeymoon suite" included--this was not a suite but just a regular hotel room at Minerals. Minerals is nothing to write home about but it was convenient to the location.
We liked working with our wedding coordinator, but we don't live in the area and had several meetings that could have been done over the phone. For people who have to trek, just ask if certain things can be done via email. Picking napkins and going over paperwork wasn't really worth renting a car and driving 2 hours!
Overall, the planning process with Ballyowen was very smooth and organized and the day was a breeze. It's a perfect location for a smaller wedding. You have the place to yourself and the smaller details really elevate it to another level.
I originally wrote a beautiful, long review of this, but the stupid window closed and I lost everything I wrote, so now it'll be short and sweet.
I got married here this May and it was such a beautiful venue. Two weeks later and I am still getting people complementing me on how the venue looked like it came from a fairytale. Ballyowen is gorgeous whether it's rainy or sunny, and that means a lot in NJ where the weather can be kinda dicey. It rained on my wedding day and felt like I was at a destination wedding in Ireland.
The whole staff is very responsive and accommodating to your wants/needs. Louis did an amazing job on the day of my wedding making sure that we did not have to worry about anything. He's seriously a gift from God with how smoothly he had everything running and how well he took care of my husband and I.
I truly wish that someone else I know would get married here just so that I can enjoy it as a guest and get to sit back and relax and take it all in because it was truly an amazing experience.
Our daughter and son-in-law got married at Ballyowen in September 2018 and we could not have asked for a more perfect event! It was everything that we hoped for and more. From the first moment that we toured the venue until the big day itself, we were extremely well taken care of by Julie, Louis, Silje and the rest of the wonderful staff.
Ballyowen is simply gorgeous. Both party rooms are lovely. And the views were stunning. The sunset was incomparable and we heard many comments from our guests that the sunset was breathtaking. The food was delicious and the service was great. In sum, we were very happy that we chose Ballyowen!
We got married at Ballyowen in October, and we had the most amazing day! The venue is absolutely beautiful, and the seasonal decorations complemented our decor perfectly! The staff, however, are what truly made our day unforgettable. From the beginning, Julie was great in answering all of our questions before booking. Once we booked, Silje took on the role of Wedding Coordinator flawlessly, and she was always available to answer any questions we had while planning. She was always one step ahead of us with logistics for day-of, and it is obvious she knows the venue and how to successfully execute the perfect wedding. The real MVP of our wedding day was Luis, the Maitre D'. He was simply AMAZING and really made sure we were taken care of every step of the way. When our band was stuck in traffic and going to be late for our ceremony, Luis dealt with everything and didn't even tell us until our ceremony was over! He snuck us away during cocktail hour and made sure we got a plate of all of the food we had selected while enjoying some time alone. During the reception, Luis was always available to check-in with all of the guests and make sure we had everything we needed. He made sure we always had a drink in our hand and that we enjoyed every moment of our night. He truly made our wedding a flawless event. The next morning when we went to pick up all of our decorations, he had already gotten everything together and it was all waiting for us! We mentioned how we were having so much fun the night before we hadn't even had a chance to try out our pie bar for dessert... Luis went back in the club house and came back with 3 leftover pies for us to take back home with us!!! He is a true professional at what he does and a huge asset to Ballyowen... with Luis on your side, rest assured your wedding will take off without a hitch! Thank you Julie, Silje, and Luis!!! We had an amazing wedding at Ballyowen thanks to you!
My husband and I got married there on October 27 2018. From the moment we saw the Ballyowen we knew it was the right venue for us. Silje the wedding coordinator answered all of my questions and was fantastic. the day of we had Taylor as a wedding coordinator since Silje had a wedding of her own and she was AMAZING she knew exactly what was needed and made our vision come to life! Luis the maitre'd was exceptional! He made the day flow smoothly and had food/drinks for me and my husband before we asked. We have gotten so many compliments on the food, the venue and how professional the staff was. I could go on and on about how WONDERFUL the venue and the staff was. Would recommend 100%
From the moment we saw Ballyowen, we knew we were going to get married there and it did not disappoint! The ambiance, the food and the staff were all incredible and I'm so glad we chose this venue.
A few tips/comments:
-Crystal springs doesn't look/feel like a wedding factory, but they do so many weddings, they function like one (in the best way possible...they can handle anything). But this also means everything appears very rigid on paper. THIS IS NOT THE CASE! They are very flexible with just about everything. Don't be afraid to ask for what you want. Silje (wedding coordinator) and Louis (maitre d') are both wonderful and will help you out with anything you need.
-The max for the venue is 150, but anything over 135-140 i think would have felt too cramped (word to the wise)
-Invest in up-lighting - the ceilings are a little low but a little bit of up-lighting solved this and made the room unreal looking (the DJ we hired recommended that based on prior experience at Ballyowen and he was 100% right)
-Unless your heart is set on something like a dessert table, you really don't need to do any food upcharges/add ons (especially if you're doing a buffet). The food included in the base price is already pretty high end and so delicious that any additions felt unnecessary and wouldn't have been worth the added cost
Ballyowen absolutely blew us away from the moment we saw it! The beautiful scenery, privacy and intimacy of the venue were exactly what we were looking for for our wedding of 120 guests. Julie and Silje made the whole process very easy, even with our most unreasonable of requests! Nothing was out of the question and they helped us make sure everything was ready and in place for our big day. Our maitre'd Luis was exceptional! Although we only really met on the day of the wedding, he made sure we and our families were taken care of, making sure we had time to slow down and enjoy ourselves. We can't say enough about how beautiful our day was and can't thank the team enough for helping pull it all together!!
Not only was Ballyowen absolutely breathtaking for photos and perfect for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception because of the ease for guests (meaning every location is right next to each other) but the staff was hands down the most amazing, hardworking, fun and caring team I have ever seen!! We felt so well taken care of by Louis, Julie, Silje and Jen right from the very first corresponding email up to the very last centerpiece being packed up to go home.
Honestly, the biggest piece of advice I got as a bride was not to worry if something went wrong, because it always does, but not one single thing went wrong!! Our day to night was PERFECT. Both of us ate at cocktail hour, and both of our dinners!! (Thank you Louis!!) We had drinks all night, water when we needed it and both sets of parents were treated like royalty. I can go on and on about how much I recommend this venue until my fingers hurt from typing. Seriously, if you are looking for a rustic yet natural, romantic venue with stellar staff, you must consider Ballyowen. The food was awesome, our pictures turned out gorgeous and the staff made our day better than we could have ever imagined.
We loved everything about our wedding experience. The staff were always there to answer any questions/concerns from day 1! The day of the wedding could not have gone smoother without the help of the staff! We were there very early in the morning and the bridal suite was set up with refreshments and there was always someone popping in to make sure we were okay! Louis is the Maitre'd and is AMAZING!! He was always one step ahead making sure we ate, had drinks, giving us a count to walk down the aisle, I cannot say enough about how helpful he was he truly outdid himself!!! The staff set up all of our decor better than I could have imagined! I would recommend 100%
I cannot express how amazing my experience was with ballyowen! Their staff members went above and beyond from day one to the last second of my wedding. Silje, Taylor and Luis thank you sooo much! Their food is amazing, the reception area is beautiful and everything went smoother than I could ever imagine! I don’t think any words can express how much I appreciate these people. Do yourself a favor and visit Ballyowen!
My husband and I got married Friday, July 27th and our wedding here was incredible! We loved the secluded rustic venue, the unbeatable view, and the wonderful service we got the day of. We were a little nervous at first because the manager wasn't as organized as we would have liked her to be. Once we were assigned a wedding coordinator though all of our questions were answered promptly and the day-of we were assigned a fantastic maitre d! We really wanted our ceremony to be outside and were so lucky that we got the only sunny day of the week. Even though the end of July can be very hot and humid for an outdoor wedding, the mountain top venue is breezy and a little cooler than where we're from in Hunterdon County. The sunset pictures we got with storm clouds in the background are going to look great! All of our guests have said wonderful things about the venue including its size, picturesque view, food, and service. We were provided with a shuttle to and from Minerals Hotel which was convenient. The hotel was less impressive but that is for another review. The price was the best we could find out of 10 seemingly comparable venues in the area. You wouldn't think they could fit 150 seats comfortably in the grassy ceremony area but they're pros and they can and it doesn't even seem cramped. We're so glad we picked Ballyowen for our wedding ceremony and reception!
We recently had our wedding at Ballyowen golf club. The first time we ever saw the venue, it literally took our breath away. When you pull in, There are rolling hills and beautiful views surrounding the cocktail room and the reception building. I think the views are what sold us on the venue. Overall we were very happy with our wedding. Our guests raved about the view, as well as the food selection during cocktail hour. One of our guests even said it was the best they've ever had at a wedding.
The team there (although we had our doubts when we first booked) Was beyond our expectations. They filled all our requests, and went above and beyond. Louis was phenomenal. He was the maître d' for our event, and I highly recommend him. Silje, The event coordinator at Ballyowen was also really great to work with. She was super organized, and always answered emails (even when I asked her 100 questions!).
The venue isn't for everyone. I specifically wanted a venue that wasn't a typical ballroom. I wanted something with an outdoor component, that did not share the space with another wedding in the same day. Ballyowen hit all those checkmarks for us.
Over all it was the best day of my life, and we are so happy we chose this venue to host.
Love,
Ryan & Christina
We had the best day ever thanks to the wonderful staff at Ballyowen Golf Club. From the very beginning, I could tell we chose the perfect place for our wedding celebration. Julie was so helpful in the early stages with booking and any other questions we had. Then we met Silje who hands down, made the entire process a breeze. She was always so quick to respond to all of my emails and was so understanding when we had a few family emergencies just days before our wedding. On the day of our wedding, Silje met us at the venue - they had snacks and drinks ready for us in the bridal suite. Absolutely amazing service all around. Our maitre d was the cherry on top of a wonderful customer experience. Luis was phenomenal. I did not go to the bar once at the reception because any time I put my drink down, Luis was there with a fresh poured glass for me. He was so attentive to us. The staff at Ballyowen was professional and our day was everything we had ever hoped for and more because of all of their hard work. We cannot thank you enough!!!

My husband and I got married at Ballyowen a few weeks ago and it was truly the most amazing and perfect day. Ballyowen's landscape and intimate feel is what attracted us to the venue and it did not disappoint. We were worried about getting married outside in November but the weather ended up being perfect! Ballyowen has stunning grounds for amazing photos, especially at sunset. Guests are stilling reaching out and telling us how much they loved our wedding. The food was delicious and everyone was on the dance floor all night. Luis was fantastic at making sure the night was running smooth and ensured we were always happy. Silje and Julie were also great throughout the planning process by answering our many many questions. We had 40 rooms booked at Minerals, our rehearsal dinner at Crystal Springs Country Club and our post-wedding breakfast in a private room at Minerals. It all went off without a hitch thanks to the amazing and accommodating staff!
My husband and I got married at Ballyowen Golf Club in October. The setting and buildings are beautiful for a fall wedding. It can be difficult to find a venue that isn't your typical banquet hall and that caters to smaller weddings, both of which we found at Ballyowen. It's unique and the space is intimate. The great thing about Crystal Springs is that your wedding package comes with a wedding coordinator. Everything went great the day/night of our wedding. Unfortunately, I felt as though the response time when emailing was too long. There were a few times where I was told one thing at our initial meeting only to be told something else at a later date. My one piece of advice to brides who book this as their venue---DO NOT DIY your wedding. If you do, you will have to hire someone/get someone to set everything up for you as this venue will not. Other than that, this venue was amazing and beautiful. We have a fantastic time!
I recently got married on August 19, 2017 at the Ballyowen Golf Club. I could not have asked for a better venue!!! I booked this venue a year in advance, which gave me so much time to ask Julie or Silje a thousand questions ;) Not once did they make me feel like I was asking too much or like I was being too needy. Weeks leading up to the wedding Silje was amazing. So organized, helpful, and no request was too much! She did everything I asked even when it was a little out of the norm. After the ceremony Louis made sure my husband and I always had a drink in our hand and made sure we were satisfied with everything happening. I couldn't have asked for a better wedding. Our families both traveled 3+ hours and it was totally worth it!!! Thank you all so much for the best day of our lives <333
We had our ceremony and reception at Ballyowen Golf Club on 6/30/17 and it was amazing! The venue is stunningly beautiful, the food was delicious (and there was so much of it), and they worked with us to include all of our ideas. Luis, the maitre-d, was amazing and so helpful the entire night. It poured in the middle of our ceremony and he recovered the entire thing so that it was no big deal. We had such a great night and we feel we got more than we paid for!
Ballyowen Golf Club; Wedding Review:
As a young girl my wedding was something I dreamed about, played dress up for and longed for. Then you grow up and come of age meet the man of your dreams and get engaged. Promising one another that you'll be faithful to each other through thick and thin and eagerly await for your wedding day to arrive. That was how my story begins.
Brent and I had visited so many venues for our wedding, we were looking for a venue that allowed for organic natural decor and our love for the outdoors to be indoors. All these options had guest minimums that were substantially higher than the guests we realistically wanted to invite and we also didn't want to pay for a headcount if guests couldn't enjoy the venue with us.
Finally we came across Ballyowen through a friend's recommendation, she'd gotten married at Blackbear and said Ballyowen was beautiful too. So next thing you know Brent and I made an appointment with Julie Hoffman who answered all of our questions and made booking a breeze! Ballyowen is a private venue and so romantic. Taking the windy road through the golf course and around a small lake up to the beautiful stone buildings was breathtaking and truly made our day feel like a fairytale.
After booking our date we worked with Silje Karlson to set up our tasting, final details meeting and cake. Silje was always so quick to answer our questions or accommodate anything that we wanted to come to life for our wedding day.
At our tasting we met Louis our Maitre D' he was so friendly at the tasting Brent and I knew he'd be wonderful the day of the wedding. Little did we know 'wonderful' was a gross understatement!! Louis went absolutely above and beyond what I would've imagined a Maitre D' would do! He was with me and my girls the whole day making sure that we had everything that we needed as well as coordinating all the food and ensuring that Brent and I had something to eat that day. Which was absolutely key especially with taking all the photos and greeting family and friends. Later in the night Louis helped coordinate the cake, bouquet/garter toss and all the food with the kitchen. I later found out that he provided several family members and friends with Flip flops if their feet hurt!! That I thought was so incredible!
Jen Baldwin also helped coordinate decor and the first look the day of along with other details that she and Louis organized. In addition I had bought two cake toppers (both of which broke in the mail) and I had no time to fix them. Jen found them glued both just in case to have options if anything happened to the other. I thought that was so nice!
Overall Brent and I were completely blown away by the service that Ballyowen was able to provide. No one was hungry the food was impeccable and people are STILL Raving about how 'gorgeous of a venue' it was and how this was the 'Best Wedding they've ever been to' also how the 'service was so put together'. We cannot say enough good things about Ballyowen. I'd recommend this venue to any and every new 'bride-to-be' I've come across since and everyone that I'll meet in the future. Ballyowen is honestly a hidden GEM!!! Brent and I are so thankful for the service that they provided and the memories they allowed us to make with them!
All of our love!! The Bagwell's
We recently had our wedding at Ballyowen Golf Club. It was exceptional and completely exceeded all of our expectations. When looking at venues, we knew we wanted a beautiful scenic location, somewhere we and our guests would feel at home, a place with easy access to a hotel, and somewhere with outstanding food. Ballyowen truly hit the mark. We lucked out and had a beautiful, 72 degree weather day with a sunset that blew me away. Julie, Silje, and our matre D Luis were all wonderful to work with. The morning before my wedding I showed up in a panic with 13 creased table cloths I decided to use last minute. Their response: "don't worry we've got it." And they did. My biggest concern the day of was that we had guests staying at Minerals and Grand Cascades and I was worried there would be some confusion with pick up and drops off, but everything went perfectly. They even had someone shuttle over my welcome bags and hand deliver them to each guest. We did not have to worry about a single thing. Our guests were completely blown away by the food, as was I (a vegetarian nonetheless)! Everything about Ballyowen was magical. I could go on and on but will instead tell you not to hesitate in booking this venue for your dream wedding day. They will not let you down.
Rehearsal Dinner: Black Bear Golf Club
Ceremony & Reception: Ballyowen Golf Club
Hotel: Minerals Hotel
I am giving four stars because my guests had a fantastic time and repeatedly have complimented my husband and I on choice of venue, food, and our ceremony. If you are the bride/groom, there are issues you want to be aware of. Some I didn't know about until later when my bridesmaids told me.
Leading up to the day, Silje was always responsive to my emails and accommodating to my requests. We got married on 10/22/16. Hair and makeup arrived on time and were great until my mother-in-law, who had a mini-meltdown over her hair, and apparently the hairdresser was not being very helpful (she was last to go). It was chillier and wetter than we had hoped, and we finally decided later that day to move the ceremony into the pavilion instead of their outside location. I'm not quite sure when it was finally decided, as I don't remember being officially told we were moving it inside. My bridesmaids told me that they had to yell at staff to get them to finally set the reception room and decorations up, close to ceremony time. My husband and I had been concerned that check-in time at the hotel was at 4:00 and our ceremony was at 5:00, and we were told the shuttle bus would only take 2 loops to get everyone to Ballyowen for the ceremony, but Silje kept telling us that is how it is. Apparently there were almost 15 guests who made it to Ballyowen just before the ceremony because there wasn't enough room in the previous shuttle. The ceremony went well in the pavilion, and we got gorgeous photos during cocktail hour as a rainbow appeared after the rain. We had picked Ballyowen for its setting, and their stations package, which matched our idea of no assigned seats and having a cocktail reception. Somewhere along the way, that was miscommunicated as Luis, in misguided good faith, had convinced the chef to prepare salads for our tables, when not everybody had a seat (as intended), or plate, or set of silverware (not intended). People started to claim seats and eat salad during the mother-son dance, while others felt lost and had to wait for more plates and silverware to come out from the back after my husband had to talk and explain to Luis what our reception was supposed to be like. I’m not sure where the miscommunication occurred, but he definitely did not know we were having a cocktail reception. A couple other annoyances: nobody offered to forward our marriage certificate to Hardyston Township, my maid of honor drove over an hour back up on Monday to submit for us as we were already on our honeymoon, but she also had to go back to Ballyowen as we somehow didn’t get the top of our cake while we were there either. We had also sampled the macaroni and cheese at our tasting, and while still good, it was different from the one served at our reception – different type of noodle and cheese. The overall experience was great, but day of details could have really caused issues if I had been more uptight/nervous over details.
My husband and I got married at Ballyowen Golf Club, and all I can say is perfection. I worked very closely with Julie and Silje leading up to the wedding. They were both so helpful in making sure I didn't miss any detail, and were very timely in their responses. The cocktail hour in the lounge was so so beautiful, and our guests raved about how amazing the food and drinks were. The real MVP of the night was the Matrie D Louis- a few short things he did for us included: hand made my signature drink the night before, ensured that our bridal party was always taken care of, and my husband and I never had worry about needing anything because Louis was one step ahead of us. It allowed my husband and I to be on the dance floor the whole night without a worry in the world. Our guests stayed at Minerals which worked out perfectly-the shuttle was flawless, and the after party at Kites was so much fun. The team at this venue is wonderful, and not to mention the stunning grounds. Look no further for your dream wedding venue!
