About this vendor
Bear Creek Golf Club located in Wentzville, MO is a stunning venue for your wedding. When it first opened its doors in 1998, Bear Creek was the first 18-holes public golf course in the city of Wentzville. Today, the grounds are available for hosting any kind of event.
The venue is also known amongst avid golfers as “The Home of the Grizzly” because each hole is distinct. Bear Creek was designed by noted architect Gary Kern, who ensured the construction was done in sync with conservation. This was done in order to preserve and maintain the trees and natural habitat. Needless to say, exchanging your vows against this landscape will make for great photos and memories.
Bear Creek features a beamed cathedral ceiling, stone fireplace and floor-to-ceiling wall windows so that you can experience the outdoors indoors. They also have a wrap-around deck that overlooks the championship golf course. The venue can accommodate up to 200 guests and the tranquility of the space makes it an ideal space to celebrate your love.
The in-house event coordinator can hand-hold you through the day, taking care of everything you may need including setup and cleanup. Additionally, tables, chairs, and linens can be provided. The dedicated and professional staff has the expertise to exceed your expectations. So you can trust them while you enjoy the biggest day of your lives.

Bear Creek was an amazing venue for our wedding ceremony and reception! Fay and Kelly were wonderful to work with- responsive, helpful, and easy going. They were both very organized and made sure we had a stress free wedding day. We unfortunately had to move our outdoor ceremony inside due to rain, but the venue looked absolutely beautiful. The large mantle and floor-to-ceiling windows are a gorgeous backdrop to get married in front of. There was plenty of room on the dance floor and for the Photo Booth from our DJ. The chef, Kyle, is excellent and we received many compliments from our guests that the food was the best they’ve had at any wedding reception. If we could do it over again, we’d choose Bear Creek!
Bear Creek was absolutely the perfect venue! We absolutely loved Faye, who was so kind and helped make our day go perfectly! The food is phenomenal and the venue is so beautiful! We had the perfect wedding at Bear Creek and would choose them all over again!
Everyone was so friendly and great to work with. They made sure every everything was perfect. I can't say enough great things. I will definitely recommend them to everyone. Chef Ben was so nice and the food was amazing. Leslie did a great job setting up the decorations and coordinating the night.
Bear Creek is an amazing venue that not only holds a reception but the ceremony as well. The staff is very friendly helpful and easy to work with. Alex is always very prompt when I have any questions for her. This has become my new favorite reception hall for setting up chair covers and sashes. I hope to do much more business with them in the future!

The executive chef Ben is wonderful and spent a lot of time on the phone with us (we live 2,000 miles away) to make sure everything was sorted out and organized. They had a few staffing changes between when we put the deposit down and the day of our event, but Ben was always there and Sam (the newest event coordinator) worked wonders with our DIY half-baked centerpieces and decorations. She went above and beyond to utilize our decorations and to try and incorporate all of our ideas. We have had nothing but glowing reviews of the food and the service from our guests!
The venue is amazing! We loved the food and the bar options. It is very very affordable for a wedding on a budget. The venue itself is very beautiful and you get several options when it comes to napkins and layout. My only issue with this venue is the wedding planner. She was less than helpful and was slow to answer emails. I found that she did not always have a clear answer to my questions and always wanted to do things the way they "always" do it. Like I said the venue is amazing and if you have a very clear idea of what you want this is a great affordable spot.
Everything about our wedding at Bear Creek was 100% perfect. The outdoor ceremony was beautiful, the reception hall was awesome, food was excellent, loved the open bar, loved the dance floor, and Alex was more-or-less our lifesaver for the entire planning period and the day itself.
We had our ceremony (130 guests) outside. It was gorgeous. We were married between two trees in front of a nice little arch on the steps. Just awesome! Even the flowering bushes around us matched our wedding colors, but I'm guessing that was coincidence ; ). My favorite part of the ceremony was the peace of mind I got from knowing that if the weather turned sour, we could go inside to the reception hall and be married there. The reception hall is pretty equally beautiful in its own right, so that would've been fine too. Luckily, despite one massive thunderstorm threatening to send us inside, we were able to be married outside! I appreciated Alex holding out for the weather, she was very flexible. Willing to delay the ceremony 10-15 minutes for the storm to blow over, reset all the chairs that the wind had blown around, and away we went! They were easily able to accommodate 130 guests outside.
The reception was a blast. We did very little in terms of decoration because the reception hall on its own is beautiful. Alex did all the decorating herself and she did a fantastic job. We had to pay a bit extra for a wooden dance floor, but that was totally worth it since it was full the entire night!
The food was great. We had chicken modega and ham, along with green beans, salad, and potatoes. Everything was good, but the chicken modega was divine. Highly recommend that.
Finally, I'll say it again, we loved Alex! She kept everything going, made sure we had fun, worked with us all night, and made planning from 5 hours out of town a piece of cake. She's very organized, knows what she's doing, and is easy to work with. If we could do it again, we'd still do it at Bear Creek.
I worked with Alex Simcoke. She made the whole wedding planning process simple. I emailed her a ton of times and she consistently responded promptly. When we arrived at Bear Creek for our reception, the tables and other decor was set up exactly like I wanted. We received TONS of compliments on the reception dinner. Some people asked who catered because they wanted to hire them in the future. I was happy to say it was the Bear Creek chef, not a catering company. One person said it was the best wedding food they have ever had. The room is beautiful with exposed beams and a stone fireplace. The staff were great, too! We had someone hand carving beef in the buffet line. When I noticed the floor was sticky in front of the bar, they mopped it immediately. They made a vegan plate for someone, too. I highly recommend Bear Creek! The prices seemed reasonable, too. One thing I loved was that their prices decreased based on the guest's age, so we didn't pay much for children or teenagers who cannot drink. I didn't see many other places that offered that. We would have had our ceremony here, too, but I didn't like the indoor option (guests sit at their dinner tables during the ceremony) and I was too afraid of bad weather to have an outdoor ceremony. We had the ceremony at another location. Everything went smoothly. We loved Bear Creek!
We choose to have our Wedding & Reception at Bear Creek Golf Club because it was a space where we could have both the wedding and the reception in the same room. Sarah and Alex were great to work with and paid very close attention to the details. All of my guests were raving about the food--we chose to have the Chicken Modega, Beef Bordelaise, roasted potatoes, green beans, salad that already had Italian dressing on it and dinner rolls. Everyone said that the chicken was phenomenal and the potatoes were exceptional. The bar service was incredible too.
Thanks to everyone there--Our night was one to remember!!
We could not have been any happier with EVERYTHING from Bear Creek! Their coordinator, Alex, was the best person we worked with through our whole wedding process. She was VERY organized and put us both at complete ease prior to the wedding. It was nice to go into wedding day with ZERO stress about how a thing would go once we hit reception time! Things were set up exactly as we had imagined. It was all beautiful! The clubhouse is such a beautiful facility so obviously not much decorating was even needed. The food was absolutely delicious! Our guests commented on how great the food was several times throughout the night. The tear down/clean up was also great and such a relief at the end of a busy day! Bear Creek really helped to make our wedding day completely perfect. We will continue to recommend them to everyone we meet
Bear Creek is absolutely beautiful with vaulted ceilings and a very open feel with windows all around. The wrap around deck is gorgeous overlooking the golf course. Sara is SUPER helpful and good with ideas and will make your vision come true. The food there is better than any food and any reception hall and we are STILL getting compliments on how delicious it was. The only thing that I did not like was that we paid money for all the food and they did not make an announcement on when they were pulling it and also would not let even me and my husband take home some leftovers even though we paid for it. They also started taking down the centerpieces and decorations around 9:15 when the reception ended at 10. Other than that it was great!
My fiance and I struggled trying to find a rehearsal venue for our 40+ attendees. Everything we found was way over our budget. A family friend, who had the same scenario, suggested Bear Creek Country Club. It is a venue that is more often used for weddings so it was beautiful, professional staff and classy setting.
We were thrilled to be treated like a mini wedding reception for our rehearsal dinner. We got to attend a one on on taste testing(food was delicious!), choose linens and centerpieces, which was all included. They were completely accommodating and I would recommend them to any rehearsal or wedding reception.
We chose to have our reception at Bear Creek because we loved how it looked and had heard the food was really good from a friend. Although it looked great and the food was good, the wedding coordinator at Bear Creek told us a few days before the wedding that she would not be at the reception and that her assistant would be there instead. Since this was last minute, I don't think her assistant knew all of the details for our reception, but overall it went smoothly. The main problem that occurred was at the end of the reception when the assistant told us and our families that we needed to take down all of the decorations and take everything that night. We had not been told this beforehand and we were under the impression that they would take the decorations down and then we could pick them up during the next couple of days.
this place was very nice looking but the place caters to golfers. I am paying way more than the golfers but am treated very low on the scale.
We had both our ceremony and our reception at Bear Creek. When we were looking for a venue the most important thing to us was the FOOD. While we aren't very particular, we wanted to be able to do something fun with our wedding so we wanted to find somewhere that would let us customize our wedding but wouldn't charge us an arm and a leg to do it. Our menu included oven-baked fried chicken, a customizable pasta and cheese bar, a baked potato bar, and a juice bar, and an ice cream sundae bar! They went above and beyond our expectations! Everything was delicious! The club itself is a beautiful spot for a wedding, the golfers were even nice enough to let us take some pictures on the course in between tee-offs. The staff was extremely helpful and were quick to fill up waters and to clear dishes. The overall cost was extremely reasonable and kid friendly (we had a bunch of little ones that were either half price or no charge). So happy we chose Bear Creek!
the stuff was wonderful. They attended to the guest well. The hall looked amazing as well! everything was set up and broken down for us. Very little stress!
I had my ceremony and reception at Bear Creek and it was amazing! They went above and beyond my expectations! Very happy bride!
It was everything you could ever ask for. The ambiance was great the staff bent over for all you and your guests every whim and their food was not your ordinary reception food. They were the best we could have expected.
