Eclectic Gas Lantern Museum in the French Quarter
51 to 100 guests
Holds ceremonies and receptions
Bevolo Gas & Electric Lights Museum and Showroom is a wedding venue located in New Orleans. Situated in the heart of the French Quarter, this venue will take you back in time to a bygone era. The workshop was opened in 1945 by Andrew Bevolo, one of the original designers of the iconic New Orleans lantern, which still adorns Louisiana facades. The company is now owned by Drew Bevolo, the third generation of Bevolo coppersmiths, who continues the family trade of hand-crafting lighting fixtures. A destination for couples throughout Louisiana, this unique showroom makes for an atmospheric and unforgettable place to host your celebration of love.
Enter Bevolo Gas & Electric Lights Museum and Showroom from two different entrances, one on Royal Street and the other on Exchange Alley. Once inside, you will find an elegant hall adorned with over 40 handcrafted, open flame, copper lanterns. These retro lamps cast a warm glow on the exposed brick walls, wooden ceiling beams, and vintage accents. This romantic enclave is the ideal spot to host your intimate ceremony, cocktail hour, or reception. Step outside through the beautifully-arched white doors to find a small brick courtyard. This inner sanctuary is dotted with tropical plants in terracotta planters, draped with string lights, and can be set up for drinks and dinner. From here, you can access the workshop, where light fixtures, work tables, and historic memorabilia add to the authenticity of this storied shop.
The hall and courtyard at Bevolo Gas & Electric Lights Museum and Showroom can be fully customized to your wedding needs and preferences. The venue staff will help you design the layout of your ceremony and reception and can be hired for day-of or full-service planning. You are welcome to use outside vendors to decorate the museum to complement its antique aesthetic. Bring your own bar, bartenders, and catering to ensure that your cocktails and meal are exactly to your tastes. You can also hire coppersmiths to ply their trade in the showroom during your event so that your guests can see lantern craftsmanship in action.

We had our wedding at this venue in October and the location was perfect. The building has a great New Orleans feel right in the middle of the French Quarter. Even as a blank slate, the venue was beautiful and fit our theme perfectly. You have to keep in mind this place is not a traditional venue but Tori was so helpful and was instrumental in making our dream vision come true. This is a great place to book if you are looking for a classic New Orleans wedding. Keep in mind traffic though and watch out for any events, that would be my only concern in hindsight.

Our beautiful venue! When planning a New Orleans wedding from the west coast, I had a vision of a french quarter venue with history and charm. With my planner I compared notes of places I had seen pictures of online or from scrolling this website and we had both mentioned Bevolo based on the conversations we were having. Although a food/drink onsite option did seem like what we were leaning towards I just felt like with the right vendors this space was exactly what I had been imagining. It also helped that we knew we could do both our ceremony and reception for 45 guests in one venue. I am proud to say that I heard we were the first people to use the alleyway entrance as we led our guests through the workshop for champagne before our ceremony which was in the amazing brick courtyard. The main space was the perfect situation for our guests to mingle and graze over the food and dance while we kept the bar in the workshop all night with high boy tables for conversing in the courtyard. It was gorgeous, romantic and felt so unique. My favorite part was getting to hide in the upstairs office area and peek down over the courtyard wall to see my guests before I walked into the ceremony. What a dreamy night it was.

Let me start by saying our wedding was magical the whole night was incredible and Bevolo was the perfect venue! Very warm, unique and inviting. Exchange ally was at the back of Bevolo and was a perfect spot for first look and family photos and they had a sweet little upstairs area where we could eat and have quiet moment before our reception. I would absolutely suggest having a wedding/reception here. My reasoning for the 4 star review was the actual staff for Bevolo. We didn't see the venue until 2 days before our wedding so once we arrived in NOLA went straight there! We went in and excitedly explained we were getting married that weekend and were just looking around. The staff there was incredibly rude and unkind and started the whole wedding "vibe" off negatively and was very disheartening. The security during our ceremony did nothing but look at his phone so our best man had to do the security's job when people were causing a disruption during our ceremony. Also, we hired a craftsman to work in the workshop to create a fun experience for the guests and to make something we could take home to commemorate our day. The day of the wedding there was no craftsman and no one bothered to communicate that to us so my heart fell when I didn't see him. We were told the morning after he had come down with Covid... The money I had paid for him was returned but I think a bit of communication would have gone a long way.
Bevolo requires you to have a coordinator and we went with Becca as suggested. We were unable to see the venue before we got married so all of our trust was in her. The communication leading up to the wedding was a bit spotty but she came through with several great suggestions and at the rehearsal and on the day of she executed everything perfectly. She was on point and had all of our things returned to our hotel immediately following the wedding. She wrote a follow up email apologizing for the craftsman and gave us a detailed account of the night which I really appreciated. I highly suggest asking for a detailed floor plan if you can't see the venue in person and if you want to set up an alter/ pipe and draping don't do it directly in front of Royal street. I didn't realize in all of the pictures on line the curtain is actually hanging in the middle of the room facing toward the workshop instead of above the doors leading to royal street. All in all we and our guests had an amazing time!!

I got married at Bevolo in 2018 and was so happy to see they finally got an ad on the Knot so that other brides could find them! The place is so magical, so NOLA, you have to go and feel the vibes yourself to really "get" it. We loved working with the Bevolo staff and cannot think of a better aspect to our wedding than the venue - our family still asks, "how did you find that place???" Thanks Bevolo!

Bevolo is the perfect wedding venue! I love unexpected, non-traditional venues, and this one definitely fits the bill. The space has a warm, rustic feel. All those lanterns give off a gorgeous glow. You can’t beat the Royal Street location (French Quarter second line, anyone?). Becca is incredible. She has lots of ideas and experience for transforming the space for both ceremonies and receptions. The space is full of personality, and you can definitely add your own touch in the details. Everything about Bevolo is unique and charming!
