Bijou Beautiful was the perfect choice for my wedding day make-up! My make-up artist, Rachael, was talented, patient and worked hard to get the look I wanted just right. She listened to my preferences and even gave me two different eye make up options during my trial. When I woke up with pimples all over my face on the day of, she reassured me that the air brush would cover everything and my skin looked flawless! My bridesmaids kept raving about how good they looked. In addition to delivering great services the day of, Kristen (the owner) was accessible, professional and helpful. I can't say enough great things about Bijou Beautiful!

We loved working with Bijou! We did a destination, private residence wedding in San Diego, so them coming to us and being so easy to work with was awesome. We worked with Briana and Cynthia and my girls and I loved them and had so much fun with both of them! They listened to what we all wanted, but we all still looked so cohesive somehow. They both did beautiful work and Bijou as a whole was a great company to work with!

Jessica was my hair & makeup artist on my wedding day a few days ago and she did an amazing job! She was so funny & nice, which made getting ready an even better experience. I felt so beautiful on my wedding day, and I'm so grateful to Jessica for that! She also did my sister's (maid of honor) hair & make up and my mother's hair, and they were both very happy with Jessica's work as well! :)

Really happy with Bijou beautiful!!!! I had Deborah for hair and Angela for make up. Both listened to exactly what I wanted and made it perfect. If I ever wanted something adjusted (which wasn't often because they are seriously so good), they changed it and made sure I was 100% satisfied. Plus they were both hilarious and really sweet to me and my bridesmaids. Thank you ladies for making all of us look beautiful!

I found Bijou Beautiful after having a rather unsuccessful makeup trial, so I couldn't have been more relieved. Kirsten was really easy to work with, prompt with email responses, and really helpful with the timeline for the day. Angela was our makeup artist and she delivered exactly what I was looking for. She understood completely how to create the look I wanted and made all my bridesmaids super happy as well! Not an easy feat! She created natural looks for everyone that looked amazing in person but also in the photos. She was also really sweet and fun to be around. Would definitely recommend Bijou Beautiful, it is worth it to feel absolutely gorgeous.

Bijou provided two stylists who did the hair and makeup for my bridal party, my mother and myself. They were fantastic! They were on time, stuck to our schedule, and made sure each woman was thrilled with her look. They were not only super talented, but extremely sweet and made it their top priority to make sure we were all gorgeous and most importantly, at ease. Our makeup looked flawless and natural, and everyone's hair was just what we wanted, romantic and sweet. I felt beautiful on my wedding day thanks to them! Special shout out to Sarah :)

I am so mad at myself that I am just now reviewing this company! I had my makeup done by Sasha last August for my wedding and she was amazing! My makeup was perfect! She was so sweet, on time, and overall just wonderful! I have also worked with Theresa as well many times and she is great as well! So professional, sweet, and just so good at what they do! I would recommend them 100% to any bride!

I had a great experience with Bijou Beautiful! Alli and Shelby did an amazing job with hair and makeup for me and bridesmaids. Alli was a pleasure to work with and she was very patient with me. I don't wear makeup and didn't know what look I wanted to go for and wasn't completely satisfied with my first trial. I did some more research, talked to a few friends about makeup, talked to Alli and then had a better idea of what I was looking for at the second trial. We found a look that I liked at the second trial and the wedding day look was even more beautiful. Throughout the whole process, Alli made sure I was happy and comfortable with my hair and makeup. She was also very personable, and I felt really comfortable with her. I really appreciated her friendliness, professionalism, knowledge, guidance, and patience. The day of the wedding went really well. Alli and Shelby were very organized and we mostly stayed on schedule. Alli did the bridemaids' hair and my hair and makeup. Shelby did the bridesmaids' makeup. All the bridesmaids looked gorgeous, and they were pleased with their hair and makeup. I also loved my hair and makeup and was sad when it was time to take down my updo and wash my face. Throughout the night, I got compliments about my hair and makeup. Alli and Shelby really made us look like the best versions of ourselves, and I'm really glad I went with Bijou Beautiful. I definitely would recommend them to anyone looking for a hair stylist/makeup artist for their wedding. They do great work and they are great people.

I could not have felt more beautiful on my wedding day. Sarah and her assistant Meghan helped to bring the vision that I and my 4 bridesmaids had for our hair and makeup to life. Being from Canada and having a destination wedding in La Quinta, I did not have the chance to do a preview. Theresa encouraged me to send inspiration photos ahead of time, and Sarah assured me through the whole process, listened carefully to what I wanted and made some great suggestions as well. She also effortlessly included my fresh flower hair piece, even though she had to start my hair styling before even seeing a photo of what the floral piece would look like. I was beyond thrilled as were each of my 4 bridesmaids. Both Sarah and Meghan were a joy to work with, as was Theresa in coordinating our services effortlessly ahead of the date. Having them on site while we were getting ready made for a fun, relaxed and joyful morning, the perfect start to a perfect wedding day. I had the pleasure of having Sarah work on myself and my bridal party. She was absolutely fantastic! Not only did she do a perfect job, but she was done at the exact minute she said she would be, even with myself running a little late! And my wedding was pretty hectic and stressful and she totally put me at ease. She made relaxing and talking so easy, it was like we were old friends. I highly recommend Bijou and the cost was totally fair and reasonable and cheaper than al the other vendors. And they come to you, which was perfect in my case. I booked Bijou Beautiful at the recommendation of my coordinator To La Lune and it was one of the best decisions I made! My hair and make up person was Sarah and she did an amazing job. During our trial she came to meet at my house and understood the look I was going for. For my wedding day we had two additional stylists since all of my bridesmaids got their hair done as well as my mom and mother in law. They did a great job and all of my friends are still complimenting how great all of my bridal party looked. I looked at a lot of hair and makeup services and bijou's was definitely the best deal for the quality that you get. We had a couple of last minute additions to what we needed and they were totally understandable and worked it out. I plan on recommending them to all my friends who are getting married!

Theresa owns this company and I initially spoke with her to step an appointment. She was so nice and helpful. The name of my hair and makeup artist was Alli and she was amazing!! I loved her and I wish she could do my makeup everyday. She was so easy to get along with and she understood what I wanted. She really helped to make the day so much easier and relaxing. I didn't have to worry about anything when it came to hair and makeup. She also did the hair for all of my bridesmaids and my mother. She was fantastic and I thought the prices were so reasonable! It was $140 for my bridesmaids for hair and makeup and then for me it was $225. I would recommend Alli to everyone!

Bijou Beautiful was a dream to work with! I wanted to save money, so I decided not to do a trial and was so happily surprised when Meghan, our hairstylist, emailed me ahead of time to see any ideas I had or questions, I even sent pictures of my hair and what I wanted and she was so nice and helpful before the wedding. Bijou was also really flexible in adding last minute hair and makeup for family members, they were very accommodating. On the day of my wedding, both Meghan and Pam arrived on time and worked so efficiently we were actually ahead of schedule and everyone looked BEAUTIFUL! I felt more beautiful than I ever have and felt like both ladies really tried to capture the the essence of each girl in their hair and makeup. Meghan and Pam were such sweethearts and really make my day beautiful!

Sarah took care of my hair and make up on my wedding day, and I couldn't have been happier. We had practice sessions for both, and it was great to get to know Sarah because she couldn't have been sweeter! I'm so glad I trusted Sarah and Bijou Beautiful with my wedding day look. I had a Disney wedding on December 30, 2013 at the Grand Californian Resort & Spa and hired Bijou for our hair and make up. Sarah did our make up and Meg did hair. They were both on time, polite, and calm. Our make up and hair looked great! We were on time and the hair and make up lasted a long time! I highly recommend Bijou!

I hired Bijou Beautiful just a few months before my wedding at Wiens Family Cellars in Temecula. I was having a really hard time finding someone to do makeup for myself and my bridesmaids and found Bijou on The Knot. Sarah did our makeup and she really did a FANTASTIC job! We all looked like the best versions of ourselves, while keeping a similar look/style between all of us, and we looked elegant but natural. Some of my bridesmaids were worried about getting their makeup done, that it would be too much, but they were all very happy with the job that Sarah did. She was also very sweet, calm, and great to be around. I am so happy that I found Bijou for my wedding!

Theresa did my hair and makeup for my wedding in May and I couldn't have been happier. I was glowing, my eye shadow was flawless and my hair was romantic and done beautifully. Alli and Courtney did the hair for my bridesmaids and I (Alli did mine). They helped us look and feel gorgeous! The whole experience was great, from Theresa's prompt responses to my emails, to Alli coming to MY house for the trial session (so convenient!), to their punctuality on the day of. Alli did a fantastic job and I was really happy with the way everything turned out.

Theresa was such a pleasure to work with! She did an amazing job on my hair and make-up for my wedding this past August, as well as the hair and make-up for my two bridesmaids. My everyday look is pretty simple, so I expressed my concern about feeling too "done-up" and not myself for the day of my wedding. Theresa did an excellent job of taking that into consideration when making her suggestions. At my trial, I showed her images of hair and make-up styles I liked and she was really good about recreating a look that would capture well on camera but also make me feel comfortable and confident….and on the day of my wedding, I could not have been happier with how my hair and make-up turned out. Theresa was so kind and personable from the start. She was easy to get into contact with, responded promptly to messages, and was accommodating to mine and my bridesmaids request. On the day of, she kept to the timeline we created and made sure there was plenty of time for each of us, including touch-ups. We all loved the looks she created and our hair and make-up lasted and looked great all night!

Theresa did an amazing job on my hair and make up for my August wedding. She was polite, thoughtful, professional and made sure my bridesmaids and I were completely satisfied with our looks. I would highly recommend her to any future bride.

Theresa and Meghan did an amazing job with the hair and makeup for me and my bridesmaids (we even made their portfolio! I'm the Asian with the lace dress with gold sash, and my bridesmaids are wearing yellow dresses with 1 strap). Theresa did my hair and makeup, the makeup for my maid of honor (pixie cut reddish hair, 2nd from the left--she did her own hair), and the hair for one of the bridesmaids (third from the right). The rest of my bridesmaids did their own makeup, and Meghan did the rest of the bridesmaids' hair. Needless to say (but I'll say it anyways), my bridesmaids and I all have different face shapes and hair lengths/textures, we all wanted different hair styles/looks, and we're all very picky about how we look, but Theresa and Meghan nailed it all. Some of us were very specific about the hairstyle we wanted ("an updo that's messy with a lot of texture but not too much volume"), and others gave Theresa and Meghan very little to work with ("umm... what do you think would look good?"), but we all ended up looking like the best versions of ourselves, and that made us feel beautiful and comfortable in our skin. I was especially freaking out the morning of the wedding (before Theresa did my hair and makeup) because I just didn't feel pretty... at all. I had 3 or 4 HUGE zits (as well as countless tiny ones) on my face that I was convinced would be impossible to cover up, so I was just not feeling good about myself. After Theresa worked her magic, though, even all of the unedited photos (like these--yup, unedited!) came out perfectly! You can't even tell I was breaking out like crazy (thank goodness!!!) and I truly felt beautiful and natural (no heavy cakey feeling on my face). It's been 4 months, and I still (on special occasions) try to replicate the look that Theresa created for me, but it's never quite as radiant or natural looking as what she did. What I really loved about Theresa, though, is her super friendly personality, her willingness to be accommodating (and man, I had a LOT of requests!), and her super professionalism (she always arrived early to set up, she was very conscious about hygiene, she knew exactly how much time to allot for each hair/makeup service to not be rushed, and she just knows her hair and makeup techniques!). I didn't spend much time with Meghan because she worked with my bridesmaids, but they RAVED about how much they loved their hairstyles (how it looked super natural but polished, how comfortable it was--no pulling or tugging, and how it lasted throughout the night). I highly recommend Theresa and Meghan (as well as all the artists of Bijou Beautiful because I know that Theresa hand picks all of the artists that work with her, and Theresa has great taste) for your wedding hair and makeup needs. The ONLY caveat I have is that my mom's hair and makeup didn't look quite as natural or fresh--not sure what went wrong there--maybe because my mom wasn't as clear about what she wanted, maybe because her skin (especially around her eyes) is extremely sensitive, maybe because she doesn't typically wear makeup (so she didn't know what would look good on her), who knows. Knowing that now, I probably would've gotten an older Asian lady who speaks Chinese to do my mom's hair and makeup instead. Regardless, Bijou Beautiful does an amazing job for wedding parties, and if I was helping my best friend plan her wedding, I would recommend Bijou Beautiful, hands down (except maybe for the moms).

Bijou Beautiful did all of the makeup for my wedding. Chelsea was my makeup artist and she was great - very professional and good at what she does. here were about 8 of us who got our makeup done and she brought an assistant who was also good. From the moment my interactions with the company began things went smoothly. At a time when you are super buys and there are so many details it is nice to work with flexible people and Bijou definitely fits that bill. One perk was that Chelsea was able to do my makeup for the night of my rehearsal dinner and we counted this as a trial (BONUS!!) Bijou did my friends wedding two months prior so I knew the quality I would be getting and opted to save the trail for a time when I needed my makeup done (which happened to be the day before my wedding). I felt as though Chelsea really listened to me and what I wanted - yet appropriately offered her professional opinion when asked. IAll of the ladies enjoyed Chelsea and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. I will say that it's definitely not "cheap" but worth every penny. In this case I would go with the phrase, you get what you pay for and for the piece of mind of a great end result and stress free experience it's worth it. Also, after researching other companies, they are very comparable in price.

Theresa and her team did a fantastic job on my wedding day. As soon as I met her I knew I had made the right decision. She is pleasant and professional, and maintained great communication prior to the wedding, and on the big day. She really listened to me and to each bridesmaid to make sure everyone was excited about and happy with how they looked. And my makeup even looked awesome in the pictures!

I had the luck of having the Bijou team do my bridesmaids make up for my big day in April and they were wonderful. They came in and were so fun and professional. They did an amazing job and the girls all received so many compliments! I was so pleased that I recommended them to my best friend for her wedding 2 months later and again we were all so pleased with their quality, friendliness and overall amazing service that they provided for both of our events. I couldn't have been happier with Theresa! She is very organized and super responsive. I knew from the trial run that I'd want to hire her for my big day. I really appreciated that she had a relaxed attitude about things, but not overly relaxed that I thought things might fall through the cracks. The contract process was all very professional, and she was able to work with me when I added people to the schedule in the months and weeks leading up to the wedding. Everyone looked great! She and her assistant did the most amazing job. The girls looked like a more glowing version of themselves, and not overdone. I didn't give much guidance on how I wanted them to look so I'm even more impressed. Would recommend BIJOU Beautiful to anyone wanting to look their absolute best!

I was having a small wedding in Baltimore (I live in San Diego) and I wanted to try to do my own makeup. I reached out to Theresa to see if she did any sort of consultation for this and she was so friendly and more than happy to accommodate my unusual request. I'm so happy I called! Before we met I had explained that I was getting very overwhelmed. She took it upon herself to make me a detailed list of everything I needed, complete with product recommendations and suggestions. That alone made my day! When we met she walked me through every detail start to finish. She was so patient with me and wouldn't let me settle for looking less than perfect, she's a gifted makeup artist and teacher. She even texted me on my wedding day to see how it was going! A true professional with outstanding service!!

BIJOU BEAUTIFUL and Theresa Amundsen did an awesome job for me on my wedding day. What a professional team! Theresa was so helpful and patient with me. I was so nervous. She was kind and understanding of my needs. I felt gorgeous after Theresa worked on me. I looked amazing and the video and photos are my proof. I would highly recommend her company to any serous bride that wants the best of the best working on her.

I can barely write this without tears in my eyes. I had waited 10 years to marry my now husband and what happened on my wedding will live with me forever. When I had my consultation everything went great I brought all my accessories (except for the flower piece in my hair) we talked, she put everything together, and it was amazing! I was so happy that I had found the perfect person to make me look beautiful the day of my wedding. However the day of my wedding this all changed. It was like she forgot who I was, or what I had asked for. The eye color was smoky instead of golden my cheeks were barely rosy, and to top it off when I handed her the veil she looked at me like she had never seen it before. Stating if she put it in my hair or worse pin it down it would ruin my hair…but to remind everyone reading this post she did the consultation with the veil…I felt sick I wanted to cry because when I looked in the mirror the veil was one side of my head. At this point I looked at my girls who had been done by her assistant and they looked beautiful, I really did want to just sink in a corner but right away I was rushed off to do my first touch photos. It was very emotional for us to touch hands the first time, so the makeup did take a bit of a hit. 15 minutes later I was back to the bridal suite and looked around and Theresa had already left! My maid of honor said she asked her to wait, as her assistant was finishing up, and that my makeup might need a quick touch up, but she stated she wasn’t paid for that. She left 5 minutes before I returned, so now I had to do all my touch ups with my own makeup. But no dear readers that isn’t the worst part… you remember the veil… a gust of wind pulled it out of my hair in the middle of the ceremony into the vineyard ripping a hole the size of a baseball in it… Why because it wasn’t pinned! Now things happen good or bad in all wedding as most of you brides out there know. I took it with a laugh a few weeks later, until I saw the pictures; it wasn’t until that moment did I realize how bad it really was. My face was washed out, pic by pic my hair was falling, the hair looked flat, and of course there were very few pictures of my veil. Even worse I saw my bridesmaids hair which she had done and it was so sloppy I couldn’t help but cringe. I did write her a honest letter though, and let her know what happened…I am still waiting on a response. To be honest I hate being upset with anyone but I just can keep quiet about a vendor the specializes in weddings. Wedding are life events for people it’s not your 16th birthday, your prom, or your graduation from college, it’s a life event. There are only three situations considered life events your birth, your death, and your marriage. At the very least this vendor could have taken 5 minutes out of her day and said I’m sorry I messed up. I see all these good reviews on here, and I get it, I saw it in my consultation, but come game time she didn’t show up and that’s really stinks because she gets to go about her life freely while I live with her bad day forever. In case there an reasonable doubts out there I would be happy to show anyone who would like to see the pictures or the email that was written, just respond and I will send them to you. I hope this is a turning point for this vendor, a self-realization that what you do and how you act can live with people forever, leave yourself at the door there in no emotional room for you at a wedding.

Theresa did an absolutely amazing job on my hair and make-up for my wedding. My now husband and I decided to go the elopement route and had a very intimate wedding at the San Diego County Building. One of the biggest reasons being money, I didn't have an unlimited budget when it came to anything. For being a Knot pick Theresa was amazingly affordable. I priced out a few other places and none of them had won any awards or were recognized by the Knot and they were all around double the price of Theresa. While I know for many brides money is not an object so don't think that by paying more you are going to necessarily get more. I recently got my hair cut short (never a good idea right before you get married) but Theresa was able to use extensions to make the most amazing updo. It was more amazing than the picture she based it off of. People were completely blown away with my hair. Theresa also did an amazing job on my makeup. I'm not big on makeup so I wanted to go for the natural, yet obviously made up look and she nailed it. It lasted through the day and the night. I would 100% recommend BijouBeautiful for any event that you need your hair and or makeup done. Theresa was accommodating, I think I only gave her a few weeks notice and she went out of her way to make time for me. She also got done in the time frame that she committed to. It was very enjoyable talking to her for the time that I was getting my hair and makeup done. You are in more than capable hands on your big day with Theresa!

Alli was awesome! She is out going and personable. She fit in so well with my friends and I, my mom thought she was my friend doing my hair and makeup as a gift! haha! Love her. She is the best! I wanted a hair-do that she had never done before and she practiced and practiced until she had it down to a T. Plus, she sent me pictures while she was practicing to show me her progress. Who else would do that?! I could not have asked for a better person with better skills. Her makeup skills are top-notch also. My girls and I looked beautiful the entire night thanks to her hair and makeup skills. The company is prompt and efficient. Theresa responded to my emails within a few hours, no matter how many I sent to her. She even called me to make sure I was happy and comfortable. I do not know anywhere with service like that anymore. BijouBeautiful is the best choice you can make for your wedding day makeup and hair.

Theresa at Bijou Beautiful was a dream to work with! She made me feel instantly at ease during my trial, and we had a lot of fun. I wanted a few changes for the big day, and worked with all of them, no problem! The assistant she brought to work with her, Sasha, was fantastic. All of the girls looked great, their hair and makeup were wonderful! My hair and the jeweled barrette did fall a bit by the end of the night, but that is probably because I was dancing the night away! It could have been a little more secured, but it looks fantastic in photographs so I am definitely not complaining! Thank you Theresa for making me feel like a model on my most special day!

Theresa did my June 2013 wedding, and her work is breathtaking. She made me look exactly as I wanted, and spent extra time making sure all my complicated Indian jewelry was on just right!!! My bridesmaids all loved their hair as well. Highly recommend!!!

Theresa did my hair and makeup for my October wedding. The hair was ok but the makeup was HORRIBLE. I do not know what products she used for the spray makeup but I ended up with tear marks all over my face and they were hard to fix. My makeup looked bad even before I walked down the aisle. She should have known her products well. It seems as though the products she used on my face were cheap. Everyone else cried but did not have that problem and they did their own makeup. I thought I hired a professional. She was expensive to hire. Also, my eyelashes were falling off. I have not printed my photos yet since I am trying to fix my makeup in each picture on photoshop. She also has no flexibility and was rude to my mother. Very disappointed with her quality and service.

I had my vow renewal ceremony in San Diego. I am from Arizona. Theresa was great about responding to my initial email and provided me with all the information I needed. Not being able to speak to someone in person regarding your special day can be a little stressful. Theresa did great in responding to every question I had and I felt comfortable in choosing her. I was not able to have a trial session due to my travel plans but this was not a problem. Theresa arrived on time to my hotel room and was super friendly. She did both my hair and makeup and did a wonderful job with both. Feel comfortable in choosing her!!!!

Theresa was so amazing!! My sister and I went to the trial and we knew right away we wanted her to do our makeup for my wedding day. Theresa really listened to what I liked to decide on the right look for my dress and for my wedding day. I was so happy because I still looked like me and I felt so beautiful. Theresa arrived at my house on my wedding day a little early and began to set up. She did my makeup, my sister's and my mom's makeup in record time. Theresa was also able to fit in my older sister with little notification and was so accommodating. My mother and sisters were thrilled with their makeup. I was so happy!! San Diego was a destination wedding for me, so I searched for a few makeup artist online. Theresa was one of the first one that got back to me, and since the first point of contact, her service have been impeccable. She made everything so easy from payment method, scheduling and location. She gave me exactly what I wanted during the trial, but managed to refine it so much better on the real day even my husband said she did an amazing job. She finished my makeup and bridesmaid in ample time so that no one is stressed. Her gentle demeanor also help calmed nerves. She was very good a picking up what my bridemaid and I wanted, and did a really wonderful job. Not that I would need to get married again, but if I were to do this all over again, I would pick her again :)

Theresa was amazing! She is kind and caring, open to suggestions/comments, will put you at ease, and was all around great to work with. Things were hectic on my wedding day, but she handled everything with grace, which was much appreciated. FYI I opted for a trial, and I'm glad I did because my vision (which we executed at the trial) was actually not right for my day, and Theresa's suggestions resulted in my dream-bride look. Theresa did my hair and makeup for my May wedding; she also did hair and makeup for several of my bridesmaids. I loved the way she made me look! She was friendly and professional, and very easy to work with. I gave her some basic ideas about how I wanted to look...I needed some direction and she really transformed me, giving me exactly the look I was hoping for. She also easily accommodated my request to add makeup and hair for another bridesmaid (who decided she wanted it done at the last minute). It was lovely to work with her, I would absolutely recommend her services!

After a horrible experience with another beauty vendor (which I am still dealing with) Theresa came to my rescue just a few weeks before my big day. Unlike my other vendor, Theresa showed the utmost professionalism, knowledge and competence in her work and her interaction with me, working with me to get my wedding hair and makeup just right. Even though she could have worked with multiple brides on my wedding day, I was the lucky one that got to work with her and it was such a blessing to have her make me look amazing on my special day! Theresa's services are mobile which is super convenient on your wedding day when you already have a million things to think about. During the trial appointment, Theresa listens to what look you are going for and keeps working at it until you get the look just right. For example, I like the look of airbrush but what I needed was a combination of airbrush and applied foundation to get the coverage just right. Theresa also includes a touch up kit for every bride that has blotting paper, a bit of lipstick for touchups and other little goodies. Such a thoughtful touch! Her prices are competitive and an excellent value for all that she provides in quality and service. You will love working with her!
