Black-eyed Pea Restaurant

I have fond memories of eating at Black Eyed Pea while I was in college at TCU. So, when my wedding planner suggested that we cater the reception from BEP, I was excited. Our meat and vegetable choices were perfectly cooked and when served, just the right temperature. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, as well. I have only two complaints. One: that the bar staff was handing out entire bottles of wine and pitchers of beer to guests, instead of a single glass. Because of this, we ran out of drinks too quickly. Two: my husband and I didn't receive the top tier of our wedding cake. I was assured by my baker and wedding planner that they explicitly told BEP which boxes to pack the top tier in for safekeeping until the end of the night. However, I heard from several guests that they enjoyed a few pieces from that tier. Thank goodness Frosted Art Bakery will bake us another one on our one-year anniversary! I would definitely recommend BEP for any catering needs, but make sure that they know the TABC laws for serving alcohol and to pack up your top tier before serving it to your guests!!

BEP took care of everything and were very willing to work around my wants and budget! They were very professional. The guests loved the food. They even packed my new husband and me food to go since we didn't really get a chance to eat much!

Black Eyed Pea was suggested to me by my wedding coordinator. I was a little unsure because i wasnt sure of the quality and what my guest would think. I was absolutely blown away at the menu offers, the great pricing and the friendliness of the staff. Everyone was incredibly nice and during planning responded very quickly to any request or question I had. Everyone loved the food, people were asking for extra servings. I was very happy with our choice!

The food was perfect, the staff was wonderful. There were no complaints at all from guest. I would definitely recommend black eyed pea to another bride.

Where can I start? How about with CHICKEN N WAFFLES?!? Oh my goodness, what a hit! The food was spot-on... but we knew that it was going to be; sheppards pie, fried green tomatoes, fried pickles, mac n cheese, catfish fingers; I mean you can't go wrong! Then the late night bonus of deliciousness; PB&J triangles and milk shake shots, c'mon!!! Everyone just loved that they didn't even have to leave the dance floor for these tasty bites; the servers jumped right in and offered it while people were buggeying down. Ok, so the food was spectacular but how about the customer service we received from everyone on the BEP catering team. Heather, you actually answered the phone when I called and could provide answers to me immediately. You were so impressive at our tasting and my mom is not easy to impress. You said yes to all of my crazy ideas and found a way to make it work. You were realistic with our budget and even exceeded our expectations. We had the perfect amount of food, no left overs. This was important for us since we left for a 2 week honeymoon the next day and wouldn't be able to eat any of it. The BEP serving staff was attentive, professional and friendly. Our assigned server kept tabs on us all night; making sure we had a chance to eat, drink and that we never had any trash/plates/cups in our hands. They were also discreet; I never felt like there were servers hoarding the guests forcing them to eat. The best compliment of all was from our guests and they raved about the food! I was proud to say "it's Black Eyed Pea" and see the surprised look on their faces. We are excited to refer our friends and family to BEP catering for their next event!

Heather Rose and her team are amazing. They were a huge help to making the wedding reception come off perfectly. The food was great, the staff were professional and very friendly and they even packed us dinner and cake to-go and put it in our getaway car. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and Heather was so easy to work with. I would highly recommend BEP for any occasion and will definitely be using them again for future events.

Debbie with Black Eyed Pea in Colorado was by FAR our easiest person to work with. She came out and checked out our Ranch (wedding site) FAR in advance and helped us cover all of our bases. Their service was phenomenal!! They showed up early, helped set up the reception and were amazing to me and my husband the whole time. They were the cheapest we could find and we ended up getting the best food and the best service!! Thank you soooooo much Debbie and Black Eyed Pea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Black Eyed Pea was a fabulous caterer! Their food was awesome and the service was even better.
