I truly do not understand how this place got so many good reviews. My guess is that I just happened to have my services done by different people than the other customers. I scheduled a full face makeup and custom updo for my wedding reception dinner. The lady who greeted me at the welcome counter was very nice. I did my hair service first and the stylist that did my hair seemed like this was the last place she wanted to be. I showed her some photos of what I wanted and I do take ownership of the fact that maybe some of the photos were conflicting but I didn’t really see that and I wish she had asked more questions about what I liked in each picture and told me certain things weren’t going to be doable with my hair style. She started working on the hair and let me also say, I’ve never had any stylist pull on my hair as hard as she did. When she started doing the updo, I could tell it wasn’t exactly what I wanted so I spoke up and she did restart the process when we realized it wasn’t exactly what I wanted. After we did it the second time, I asked about some framing pieces around my face and showed her the picture I had referenced since the beginning and she quite rudely pointed out that my hair wouldn’t be able to do that which is fine except for the fact that I wish she had informed me of that in the beginning instead of making it seem like I was wasting her time by asking questions. I truly felt so defeated because I didn’t want to ask any more questions based on her attitude and just told her it looked fine and moved on. Then I had my makeup appointment and it started out much better. The stylist took her time and asked me a lot of questions which I thought was great. When she started working on my eye makeup and applying my false lashes, that’s when things went south. It took her many attempts to get one lash on and every time she took it off to reposition, it left the residue of the tinted glue on my eye which then resulted in her having to use a wet q-tip to wipe it off and some of my eyeshadow with it. This was done so many times that my eyeshadow was pretty messed up. By the time she got the second lash on, I pointed out how lopsided it was from the other lash and she said it looked the way it was supposed to. I finally left and once I got in my car, I realized the lashes were so far off my lash line and there were so many speckles of the eyeshadow around my inner eye and under my eye that she hadn’t cleaned up. I also realized later when I looked in a mirror that my foundation color was off. I ended up taking everything off and redid my makeup. I will say the stylist who did my makeup was very sweet but her work was quite poor. I hope that this was just an off day for these stylists but I would not go back to them based on my experience.
