Having our wedding at Blue Hill at Stone Barns was nothing less then spectacular. The staff were all amazing, the venue itself needed little decoration because of how naturally beautiful it is, and the food could not have been more incredible.
Prior to the wedding, Tamar and her team were so responsive, helpful, patient, and accommodating. Any time we sent an email or needed to schedule a call or a walkthrough they were available. During the menu tasting they treated us like royalty and they made the menu completely tailored to our dietary needs (gluten and dairy free) without any issue. The food was unbelievable and we have guests that are still reaching out to rave about how memorable the food was.
This venue and the staff at this location are unlike anywhere else. The natural beauty speaks for itself and the staff are on a mission to make your wedding day the most memorable day of your life. We had the best night of our life having our wedding here and we will be forever grateful to Blue Hill at Stone Barns for making our dream come to life.
We highly recommend to anyone reading this to have their wedding at this venue.
We had an amazing experience having our wedding at Blue Hill at Stone Barns! There are so many amazing aspects to having a wedding here, but here are just a few:
First, the setting is so stunning, from the picturesque farms to the gorgeous stone buildings, it is a perfect blend of natural and manmade beauty.
Next, the food is incredible - obviously since it is ranked among the best restaurants in the world! - but it was really a source of such excitement and anticipation for our guests.
Perhaps most importantly, the wedding staff that guides you for the months before the wedding is impeccable - professional, thorough, and attentive, as were the waitstaff on site on the day of.
Finally, we found that having a wedding at a venue that is also a high-functioning restaurant really simplified the process of planning the wedding - the catering, the rentals, and the parking/valet was all taken care of! All we needed to do was hire a wedding planner, a photographer, and a band!
A little more detail for those who are curious:
We arrived around 3:00 PM for first look and photos. It was a gorgeous summer day and the farm never looked better. There was a small bridal suite (with a shower if needed), where the bride can put on her dress. We had our first look on a shady, winding path through the woods and went out across the farm for couples photos. While we were doing that, our families waited in a comfortable, air-conditioned lounge stocked with drinks and snacks. After family photos in front of the scenic wine cellar, we had our own private space for a ketubah signing, even as guests were being greeted out in the courtyard with lemonade and settling down for the ceremony.
The ceremony took place under an amazing magnolia tree in the courtyard. The weather was a bit hot but most guests were comfortable in the shade. Of note, there were back-up plans in place: a covered verandah in case of drizzle and the indoor Haybarn (where the reception was held) if the event of a total downpour.
After the ceremony, we got to enjoy 15 minutes in the bridal suite to unwind alone together, while our guests made their way to the garden for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Importantly, Blue Hill made sure that the bridal suite was fully stocked with one of each appetizer, one of each signature cocktail, and two glasses of champagne. We were able to toast our marriage and eat some food before heading out to the garden to join the party.
After the cocktail hour, everyone was guided inside for the reception upstairs in the Hayloft. After a very short dancing set, all three dinner courses were served, interrupted only by speeches to allow the guests to enjoy the food, as recommended by the planners at Blue Hill. The food met and exceeded our expectations - everything was chosen because it was in season, fresh from the farm, paired with excellent wines (there are also two full bars located in the reception hall). After the meal, we danced for the rest of the night, pausing only to cut the cake.
After the reception ended, we had buses to transport our guests to local hotels and back to the city - mainly because Ubers/Lyfts are sparse in that area, especially late at night.
Overall, we were so thrilled and happy with our choice to have our wedding here and could not recommend it more highly!
We were excited to have our wedding at Blue Hill after hearing wonderful reviews since great food was a top priority for us. After two months of me chasing down the event manager there, I still did not have a finalized contract. Weeks would go by with no response from them. I had to repeatedly call and email in order to check what the status was. They would miss calls they scheduled with me and there would be no updates on next steps. I eventually gave up. I'm sure if you end up having your wedding there, it will be magical. But I couldn't get past the frustrations of the working relationship.
Our experience with Blue Hill was beyond exceptional. The venue is not only a beautiful, well maintained farm property but the food is incomparable. The detail at Blue Hill cannot be matched. Your guests will never experience such wonderful food, service or scenery. If you have a request, the staff at Blue Hill will do their best to meet your requests and make it happen. I cannot thank Emily and her team enough, we are beyond thankful we chose Blue Hill as our venue.
In September of 2015, my now husband and I visited Blue Hill at Stone Barns for dinner with his family. One of the first things I said to him was "I want to get married here" - we weren't even engaged yet!
Blue Hill at Stone Barns is a dream venue. Often times you need to compromise something at the venue, whether that be the food, the service, the location, or even the plan B option if weather does not cooperate. At Blue Hill at Stone Barns, you do not need to compromise a thing. Everything is 5 star and I really am not sure there is any better.
Venue: The venue is breathtaking during any season. We were married in early May of 2017 and everything was freshly green and so springy. I have visited in the Winter and Fall, and it is just beautiful year round. The Hayloft is stunning and was the perfect backdrop for both our reception and ceremony.
Food: So many guests came up to me stating that the food was the best meal they had ever had. My now-husband and I are self proclaimed foodies and never thought we would be able to have one of our best meals on our wedding day. Blue Hill at Stone Barns really delivered. Having dined at Blue Hill at Stone Barns twice before, I assumed that the quality would be lower for a wedding of 160 people. I am honestly amazed at how they were able to deliver such quality food to such a high quantity of people. Everything was delicious and I am still dreaming about the perfectly cooked lobster and steak! Also - the wine pairing are so thoughtful and were appreciated by so many guests.
Service: Blue Hill at Stone Barn's service is amazing. They just recently won the James Beard Award for Best Service and it is so deserved. Many guests commented on how great the service was which really is not something you expect at your wedding. In addition, Blue Hill at Stone Barns assigned a wedding attendant to me. Violetta was AMAZING. She went above and beyond and was always there to help with any need - whether that be needing some iced tea for my caffeine kick, removing a stain from my dress moments before walking down the aisle, calming my nerves, and helping me position myself for photos - she was simply incredible.
I highly suggest having your wedding at Blue Hill at Stone Barns. And if you do - please invite me!
We were married this past August at Blue Hill. What a stunningly beautiful, elegant venue! Our guests are still talking about how perfect the event was. Our ceremony was on site, outdoors in the courtyard. There is a large, beautiful tree to get married in front of that has greenery and hydrangeas around it, making for a perfect setting. The cocktail hour can be indoors, lower level hayloft or around the corner in the small vegetable/herb garden. The upstairs of the modernized hayloft is perfect for a reception. The stone walls are unique and have an elegant fee. They have pin spot lighting and uplighting already, which is nice. The food service for 4 courses was prompt and efficient. The food itself, with the wine pairing, was amazing. They use what's in season at the time of your wedding, so the ingredients are at their prime. Not to mention most comes from the farm and is organically grown. You do not know your menu until a few weeks before the wedding, but who better to plan your menu than Dan Barber. They are flexible with changes and you can make requests before it is made. The bridal attendant day of is a great addition to the impeccable service they provide. You get refreshments and food to nibble on while you take pictures and relax before the ceremony (we did a first look). The bridal attendant is there as you walk around taking pictures, providing water and even holding your bouquet when needed!! The venue coordinator, Michelle, that we worked with was also extremely responsive and easy to work with. She always emailed us back immediately, as there's always tons of questions that come up as you're planning a wedding!! The only negative of the venue is if you want additional lighting, they require you to use Pegasus, an extremely expensive company. There was no flexibility here and this was disappointing. They also have quite a few rules for vendors and can be strict with this (i.e. musicians couldn't use the elevator to bring equipment upstairs). Overall though, a great venue and highly recommend.
Blue Hill was the most incredible venue I could imagine- the scenery and decor was stunning before my florist even did anything. The food was incredible and the service the best I have ever seen.
Blue Hill at Stone Barns is part of an old Rockefeller Estate which was converted to a working farm. The setting was rustic with a modern flair. The food was organic, seasonal and above and beyond our expectations. The service was perfect. The staff was amazingly helpful and attentive. We truly loved everything about our experience at Blue Hill at Stone Barns.;The venue is a working farm which is open to the public. The spring and summer season offers beautiful colors and backdrops for photos.
