Blue Ridge Cafe was amazing to work with from the very beginning. Sue was always quick to answer any questions I had throughout the process up until our event. The staff that were provided at the venue were amazing and also packed up the leftovers. They were on top of it the entire night. The food was also beyond delicious. I highly recommend them!

When I say Sue and the team at Blue Ridge Cafe went above and beyond what I ever expected, I mean it! Sue was both my day of coordinator and her cafe catered (and most importantly, ran the bar :P) for our wedding. Everyone has a few mishaps on their perfect day, but with the assistance of Sue, I could not think of one thing I would change. The food was phenomenal -- we are still getting compliments about it (we were very southern style) --, the drinks were perfect -- our guests were very pleased with the bartender; he was always with a smile, and best of all, Sue was there if I needed anything in a heartbeat. So, if you're looking for a company that will genuinely be there for you on your special day, I highly recommend you hire this team. You will not be let down. I don't rate things a 10/10 often, but Sue and this vendor get a solid 11/10 from me.

We hired Sue and the team at Blue Ridge Cafe & Catering Co. for our wedding celebration, which was originally planned for 2020, but was postponed until 2021 due to the pandemic. From our initial tasting and meeting with Sue all the way to our wedding reception a year later than anticipated, we had nothing short of a wonderful experience with Sue and the team at BRCC. After comparing catering services in the area, we found that Blue Ridge Cafe and Catering Company provided the most affordable of options, without sacrificing ANY amount of professionalism and quality! For our wedding reception, BRCC did a fabulous job providing food and drinks for our cocktail hour, dinner and bar service throughout the night, and kindly accommodated our requests around food substitutions for our guests with dietary restrictions. Although we decided to bring in desserts from a local donut shop, BRCC also offered to set out and arrange desserts for us, and did a fabulous job! Sue works closely with local events rental services, and along with her team, assisted with tables, linens, and flatware set up, and tear down, and rental contract coordination. The BRCC also assisted in setting up ceremony seats for us-they went above and beyond. Sue was incredibly supportive and responsive to our many questions, and menu changes along the way. She offered helpful suggestions while also doing a wonderful job supporting our vision for our wedding celebration! Also, when unexpected circumstances due to the pandemic hit and we had to reschedule our larger celebration, while not necessary, Sue and the staff at Blue Ridge Catering were incredibly flexible and accommodating, and kindly allowed us to transfer our contract to the following year, without any hassle. We're incredibly grateful to have had Sue and the team at Blue Ridge Catering as our wedding caterer, and would highly recommend them-thank you Sue and the Blue Ridge Cafe & Catering Company team!

Couldn't rave about Sue and the team at Blue Ridge Cafe more! Sue was helpful and available from the initial inquiry on. She was an amazing point person to tweak and design the perfect food and beverage choices for our big day. We had multiple guests compliment the food and Blue Ridge Cafe is to thank for that. We'd absolutely recommend them!

Sue went above and beyond in catering for our wedding. This company treats you like family in recommending what would go well with your number of guests, the weather, the setting etc. We were very fortunate to have had Sue organizing the catering. I picked the menu and the guests were not dissatisfied! We had worked with Afghan kabob as well for part of the dinner and sue was able fo facilitate coordinating with them. We had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious. She was so thoughtful and packed us a to go bag to take to the hotel because we didn’t eat much from all the pictures and dancing. That’s the kind of thoughtfulness you experience when hiring Sue. She thinks of everything and she does the best cocktail spread! We had a generous portion of everything we ordered and a Lovely variety of things to choose from. Thanks so much for making our special day perfect!

I HIGHLY recommend Blue Ridge Cafe & Catering Co.! Sue was so helpful throughout the process. I had a million and one questions in the months leading up to my wedding. I also had certain things I wanted and Sue worked to include those items within my budget. On top of the amazing customer service, the food was a hit! Like many couples, our wedding was postponed (twice) due to COVID-19. Sue Dickau and the BRCC team were flexible, reliable and great communicators as we navigated the challenges of wedding planning during COVID. Overall, BRCC was one of our absolute favorite vendors to work with and I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with Sue, Chef Shawn and the team. Sue has a true talent for what she does. She is extremely responsive and on top of every detail, no matter how big or small. On the day of the event, the entire BRCC team went above and beyond our expectations to ensure everything went smoothly. Although Sue wasn't able to be the point person at our event, the rest of the team were fantastic. Our guests raved about the delicious food and wonderful service. Wow. My (new!) husband and I don’t know where to begin in thanking Sue and recommending her and Blue Ridge Cafe and Catering to others. Hire Sue and BRCC! Sue was our day-of coordinator and BRCC handled all our wedding day catering and bar tending needs (so Sue was our POC there as well and coordinated our catering). We had bbq and it was DELICIOUS. The chef is a true professional and the catering staff was seamless and efficient. In terms of coordinating, our wedding was flawless only because Sue handled every single hiccup on the day. Of course there were little things that went wrong (or moments we forgot to plan for) because it’s not possible to plan for everything, but no one would have known! Sue was professional, fast, efficient, and knew every detail of our day. Sue is extremely experienced and involved us minimally; she even kept us on-time when we did everything we could to mess that up for her. She had it all under control and was a joy to work with before and during. Any guest who interacted with her told us the same. Can’t say enough about wonderful Sue and BRCC!!

We chose Blue Ridge Cafe & Catering Co. as our caterer and Sue Dickau as our wedding day coordinator and we could not be happier with both choices. Sue was phenomenal and made sure the day was flawless- as the bride, I was never worried during the day about anything because Sue had it covered. The food that Blue Ridge catered for both our rehearsal dinner and reception was incredible!! Throughout both nights our guests complemented how amazing the food tasted. Blue Ridge Catering did an amazing job for our wedding last month. We had 175 guests and the food was absolutely wonderful. Sue, the catering director was very responsive and always replied in a timely manner.

We were so happy with everything Blue Ridge provided for our downsized wedding! The on-site space was absolutely beautiful, and made for a great backdrop for our micro-reception. Sue went above and beyond to help us coordinate everything, and we had a smooth process from start to finish. The buffet dinner was delicious, with fall-off-the-bone chicken, broccoli with orange butter, and salad + hors d’oeuvre, etc. The service for the dinner was also wonderful; everyone we encountered was welcoming and helpful. Blue Ridge also provided box lunches for our picnic wedding, which were absolutely delicious! I probably ate about 5 turkey croissants the day after :)

The catering service and food at Blue Ridge Café is astounding. Sue gave us so much guidance during the planning process and made sure we had everything we needed on the day of the wedding. The food was indescribably good (I could eat the chicken every day for the rest of my life); our guests raved about it! I can’t recommend them enough for any catering events, whether it be a wedding, graduation party, etc.

Sue from Blue Ridge Cafe and Catering was an absolute dream to work with. She is so personable and working with her eased so much stress for me as the bride. She is very organized and thorough with amazing communication skills. She is very responsive to emails and always stayed in touch throughout the entire year leading up to our wedding. She was flexible with our initial deposit allowing me to pay half upfront and the other half a few weeks later which helped so much financially. We knew from the moment we had our tasting that we made the right decision on hiring Blue Ridge Cafe as our wedding caterer. The food is phenomenal. If you are looking for a simple menu with everyday food that people will recognize by name on your menu but food that also tastes upscale, this is the place for you. We went with the Chicken Blue Ridge and BBQ Beef Brisket for our entrees and both received amazing compliments from our guests, people are still talking about the beef brisket almost a week later! From the cocktail hour to the reception, everything was absolutely phenomenal. Choosing Blue Ridge Cafe as our wedding caterer was one of our best decisions in wedding planning. 10/10 all around.

We just got married March 11, 2021. We were on a budget and many places were not as open to negotiating the number or the labor cost of certain aspects of the contract. Sue was AMAZING! We have been vegetarian for about 7 months but we GLADLY broke our diet for Blue Ridge Cafe & Catering Co food! The constant communication was perfect even when I had to take days to respond because of the chaos. Sue's willingness to listen, be upfront, find solutions and just be very welcoming and helpful was amazing. She was not present for the wedding but her staff was on point, very helpful, very willing and attentive. I can not say enough about how amazing this experience was. Even if you do not use them for your catering events (which you should); stop by and grab a bite at their restaurant!! Thank you Sue for everything and please extend our gratitude to your staff who was present. Oh! They also did have a vegetarian option.

Blue Ridge Catering was absolutely amazing. Not only the food but the staff as well, they arrived on time and were there for us every step of the way. Sue Dickau is extremely professional and helpful when picking out your wedding menu. I have certain food allergies but wanted to give my guests options that I could not have, she made sure that my food was kept separate from everyone else’s and nothing was cross contaminated. We had salad, steak, chicken Marsala, green beans, and rolls and it was to die for! Not to mention the appetizers of meatballs were also amazing! With the current pandemic going on their staff served our guests and were extremely helpful. I highly recommend Blue Ridge for your wedding.

We had our daughter's wedding planned for November 14, 2020 at a winery in Culpeper, VA. The caterer we hired notified us on November 8 that they had been diagnosed with COVID, and could not cater the wedding for us. We began scrambling to get a caterer right away. We contacted Blue Ridge and they were able to work with us to get what we needed. They were able to give us a similar menu that was in iur budget, and the quality of the food was second to none. The servers arrived on time and had everything set up and ready to go promptly. The lead server, Martha, was absolutely the best. She went above and beyond to help make our day go smoothly. If we could give them 10 stars we would. We highly recommend this company and Martha. Thank you so much for rescuing us in our time of need.

We cannot say enough great things about Sue Dickau and her staff at Blue Ridge Cafe. We looked at them initially for our daughter's wedding because we knew they had a long-standing reputation, but they still exceeded every expectation! The food was perfect, they were so flexible with changes due to Covid, and their set up and tear down was so fast and flawless it seemed like magic. (our venue manager even raved about how he's never seen a smoother tear-down and clean-up after a wedding:) BUT above all of their service excellence, the best part of Blue Ridge Cafe is the staff. They were all so personable and you could tell they really LOVE their jobs. They were fun and kind and made it all look so easy even though I know they were working incredibly hard every minute. They didn't forget a single sweet detail!!!!! Sue is so good at her job it's crazy. She knows the business so well and it shows! What I loved most about her is that she has such a calm nature about her that she makes everyone around her calm too...she's EXACTLY what brides and moms need on their side during these crazy times!!! I can't recommend them enough and can't wait til our younger daughter gets married so we can enjoy their team again!!

Blue Ridge did a wonderful job with our wedding. From the beginning Blue Ridge was amazing, we met with Sue to do a tasting. During that meeting, Sue listened to everything which made us feel like they were willing to work with us. Sue was very understanding and asked questions to help us make our day feel special and perfect. We had planned a 150 person wedding with cocktail hour and a buffet style dinner but COVID happened and we had to change everything. We were no longer having a buffet style dinner for 150 people, we went to a plated dinner for 30. Our cocktail hour went from 1 hour with 150 guest to 3 hours with 60 guest. This change of plan happened within a month of our wedding. Blue Ridge also listened to ALL of our request, every employee had a mask and gloves on, they all washed their hands every chance they could and made us (and our guest) feel safe. On top of that, the food was amazing- the bacon wrapped scallops were on point. I also recommend the bang bang chicken and the mushrooms! All of our guest continue to talk about the food at cocktail hour. The food at dinner was also perfect- the beef was cooked just right and the chicken was so moist. The veggies and mash potatoes were the best. I did not try the pasta but from our guest, the pasta was also on point. Blue Ridge sends a chief to cook everything on site which made the food taste fresh and amazing. Sean did an amazing job!! There was a miscommunication with our cake and which cake was to be cut during cocktail hour and which cake was to be cut during dinner. Blue Ridge cut both cakes but being fast thinkers they sent an employee to buy more icing and fix the mistake. At the time, I (the bride) had no idea it happened and everything turned out wonderful. We also brought our own plates, forks, knives and cups- Blue Ridge took care of them as if they were their own. Not one plate or cup was broken and we did not lose a single fork or knife. They also washed, cleaned and dried all the plates, cups, forks and knives too! On another note- one of the cooks took pictures of my husband and I before everyone came down for dinner. It was during a time when my husband and I were just being silly and did not know anyone was around us. The cook shared the pictures with my mom which was perfect! To this day, those pictures are my favorite. We can not say thank you enough to Blue Ridge and all the work they put into making our day special and perfect.

I recently used Blue Ridge for my daughters wedding. Sue was amazing. She was tentative & responsive, and did everything to make this day perfect. Her and her staff were extraordinary on the day of, I was able to relax and enjoy the day because I knew Sue had in under control. They were willing to work with me on the details of the menu and the food was amazing! If you are planning an event I highly recommend Blue Ridge Catering.

Sue was incredibly professional, and helpful. The food arrived right on time with the most courteous service. All of our guests enjoyed the food! I highly recommend them to anyone. Sue is the best! She is attentive, helpful, and will do anything to meet your needs!

Sue & Blue Ridge Catering were by far the best decision we made during our wedding planning process. From our first conversation over the phone where Sue thoroughly explained our options while respecting our budget to the well organized in-person tasting to the set-up and execution the day of. Sue kept us organized and on track throughout our entire wedding planning process. She went above and beyond to make helpful suggestions based on her past experience. She provided additional comfort and encouragement when planning got tough. Not only did she do all of this from the beginning despite us planning our Virginia wedding from Florida, but she remained flexible and helpful throughout our challenges of rescheduling and downsizing our wedding. While wedding planning can be stressful, especially amidst a global pandemic, Sue’s expertise and comforting attention to detail made the bumps in the road seem more manageable. In addition to all of her help leading up to the wedding, the support from her and her staff during our wedding weekend was exceptional. Their organization, friendliness and attentiveness were just what we needed and I am sure it wouldn’t have been the same without them. We had Sue and her team cater for both our rehearsal dinner and reception. All of our guests enjoyed the food and service! We particularly liked the Southern Fried Chicken and Grilled Petit Tender offered by Chef Shawn. If you are still looking for a catering team in the Charlottesville area then don’t overlook Blue Ridge Catering! If we had to do this all over again then we would work with Sue and her team in a heartbeat!

Sue and her servers were amazing. She went above and beyond to make sure our special day was everything it could be and more. She put together a great menu for the wedding, and took care of the bar service. The servers were very friendly and professional.

Sue and her team did a fantastic job! The food was excellent (beautiful and tasted good). They were flexible as we had to switch dates and then venues in order to go forward with our wedding in August 2020. The price was more than reasonable for the services provided! We had a few guests who were gluten free and vegan. Sue worked with the chef to create custom meals for those guests at no extra charge. I can't say enough good things about the Blue Ridge Cafe Team!

I’m so happy I chose Blue Ridge Catering. I was one of many COVID brides and Sue was able to work with me on a new date without any problems. They always made sure my husband and I were happy and had everything we needed. The food was delicious and the menu had so many wonderful options, it was hard for us to choose. They packed us to go boxes and put them in the limo so we had a snack later that night. I would highly recommend Sue and her team at Blue Ridge Catering.

Sue at Blue Ridge Cafe did a great job as the caterer for our 2020 wedding. We had to postpone by a few months due to covid restrictions and she switched to the new date without hesitation. I wasn't working with a wedding planner and Sue was patient enough to walk me through many of the details involved with planning such a large event. The food was wonderful and many of my guests complimented how polite and professional the staff was. They also assisted with set up and clean up which was a huge help to us.

Blue Ridge Cafe catered my wedding reception on June 27th, 2020. All I can say is that it was more than perfect. The food was well cooked, stayed warm throughout the meal and was presented in such beautiful arrangement. Everyone asked who prepared the buffet because was superb. The wait staff were so courteous and friendly with all the guests, making sure that everyone had everything they needed, even extra napkins. After the dinner, the wait staff cut the cake to precision. They cleaned the area and boxed the 'leftovers' and no one could even say the kitchen at the church hall had been used it was so clean. I can't say enough good things about the wonderful wedding reception I had thanks to the chef and staff at Blue Ridge Cafe and Catering.

My day was made PERFECT all due to Blue Ridge Cafe, Sue, and her team. If you want a beautiful wedding with no worries, excellent food and drinks, and AMAZING hospitality, you NEED Sue! It rained and thunder stormed three separate times during my outdoor wedding. Sue and her team continued all their duties in the rain with ease, moved our bar multiple times, and brought my husband and I drinking in the rain while we were taking pictures. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTMENT!

It is hard to put into words how great our experience was with Blue Ridge Cafe & Catering! We were initially drawn to their hometown menu and feels but were blown away by the amount of effort and support they put into our wedding day. Most importantly, we used Sue Dickau as our day of coordinator and she is a DREAM to work with!! Wedding planning can be stressful but we had so much contact with Sue throughout the planning process that by the day of our wedding it felt like she was a family member. Even when met with unexpected delays and rain, Sue had a solution. She was right on top of everything and effortlessly kept her cool, which eased so much anxiety for us. Truly our wedding day would not have been the same without Sue and the Blue Ridge Cafe staff. By far, the best decision we made!!!

We loved working with Sue and Blue Ridge Café for our wedding! Sue's experience made planning all of the little details a breeze. The people are very nice and very easy to work with, unfortunately the food quality was not good. The chicken breast was tough and completely flavorless, the green beans lacked flavor and had a weird consistency. The only okay food was the mashed potatoes and stuffed pasta shells because the cheese had nice flavor. It’s unfortunate because I liked the staff, but food was one of the only things I wished I had done differently for my wedding - not good.

The food and service at Blue Ridge Cafe and Catering Co. is awesome! There is something on the menu for everyone. Since we went with an outside rustic wedding, we chose more traditional dishes. The food was delicious, served on time and heated to perfection, the staff was professional, friendly and so eager to please. BRC&C rates a 10 from beginning to end. A special thanks to Sue Dickau for arranging such a wonderful experience for my daughter's special day.

We used Blue Ridge Cafe for our wedding at the Golden Horseshoe Inn and they did not disappoint! From meeting with Sue to how easy everything was the day of, we could not have been happier with every aspect of what Blue Ridge Cafe offered. And not to mention the food... it was amazing! Tons of compliments from everyone, regarding the food quality as well as the service. I can't recommend them enough!

Sue and her team were amazing to work with. Sue sat down with me to gage exactly what I wanted. She helped me tremendously in the planning process and helped us stay within our budget. My husband and I had the amazing opportunity to utilize the Blue Ridge Cafe's services for our wedding this fall. They were absolutely wonderful to work with and the food was fantastic. Our parents hosted our families and wedding party at the restaurant for our rehearsal dinner and the dinner food was excellent. For our wedding we opted to do breakfast for dinner and everyone was very pleased. We had bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, breakfast potatoes, and fruit to eat and orange juice, tea, water and coffee to drink. They brought our food and drinks right to our venue, set up for us and allowed us to bring the chaffing dishes back the next day. We ended up having leftovers that we froze and continue to munch on and it's still so good over a week later! Sue was who I corresponded with and she worked very hard to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. I wouldn't trade my experience with them for anything! I highly recommend considering the Blue Ridge Cafe for any event in the area!

Sue and Shawn were great through out the entire wedding process. They were very receptive to our (many) emails about clarification, numbers, choices or changes. The food was good and there was a good amount of it for each person. The wait staff they hired were very polite and attentive. They are very reasonably priced!

Sue Dickau and Blue Ridge Catering did a wonderful reception for our daughter's wedding at The Market at Grelen. Many guests remarked about the delicious food and Sue went above and beyond to tailor their service to our wishes. This is the second wedding they have done for us, and we have been enormously pleased both times. We recommend Blue Ridge Catering and Sue to anyone who asks!

I was so happy with Blue Ridge Cafe and Catering!! I live in DC and was getting married near Staunton, VA and Sue worked with me even though I was remote and the wedding location was over an hour from their home base. We were able to drive out and do a tasting, which I highly recommend, and move forward with our item choices after we had a chance to taste everything we were interested in. I was interested in heavy apps for our cocktail hour and she helped me pick out a variety of them and the correct number for my size wedding. She was incredibly flexible with me as I changed the count of items numerous times, including in the month before the wedding. Her crew at the wedding was very professional and made sure we were able to flow from cocktail hour into dinner smoothly (even though we had to push everything into the same space because of hurricane weather outside). Sue also worked with me to create a Taco bar, which I loved. Everything from contacting Blue Ridge, to their flexibility was amazing and if you need a stress free caterer, I highly recommend them.

The team worked so well with what our venue space provided, even though they hadn't worked at a wedding there before, and on the day of the wedding everything moved seamlessly! On the day of, Sue even helped set up our tables and offered her own table numbers when ours were clearly not suitable for the wind in our outdoor venue :) The staff was very friendly at the wedding, and we were extremely pleased with the food we had at the reception! Overall, I would highly recommend Sue and Blue Ridge Cafe!

Blue Ridge was fantastic! The food was absolutely exquisite! The coordinator, the servers, everyone involved was amazing to work with! They definitely had our best interest in mind throughout. We had guests complimenting us on the food and service as well. We truly could not have asked for a better place to cater our daughter's wedding!

It was so easy to work with Sue and Blue Ridge Cafe & Catering Co. We did a lot of research into caterers around the Charlottesville/Stanardsville area and BRC had the best value by FAR. They have packages for every budget and were one of the few catering companies that give service and setup even with smaller buffet packages. All of our guests raved about the food and I felt at ease knowing that the BRC team was handling so many aspects of our big day (linens, china, setup, food, bartending, liquor license etc.) We were definitely in good hands!

We absolutely loved having Blue Ridge Cafe & Catering Co. cater our wedding. They were so easy to work with from the very beginning and they were by far the most responsive caterer we talked to. Blue Ridge was amazing at communicating before the wedding and helping us plan our menu and our rentals order. They knocked it out of the park with both the quality of service and food at our wedding. Plus they are more reasonable than a lot of places in Charlottesville! We can't recommend them enough!

Blue Ridge Cafe was WONDERFUL! We worked with Sue Dickau and her team for our wedding rehearsal dinner and reception. They were phenomenal. They provided us with a fully gluten free menu and the food was still delicious for everyone. We had a very picky and honest crowd and we were told by several guests that our food was the "best wedding food they ever had". The team also was extremely professional and made the whole evening run perfectly smoothly. I highly recommend them and would definitely use them again!

We dealt with Sue Dickau at Blue Ridge Café and she is amazing! Right from the start she guided us through the process with patience and respect. She answered our many questions as first-time wedding planners! The food and service at our daughter's wedding was great, which we hadn't doubted. The Blue Ridge Café catering team works well together because they've been around for quite some time. That in itself gave us the confidence to hire them!

Sue and Shawn with Blue Ridge Cafe & Catering is the absolute best in the business! They are extremely professional, personable, flexible, comforting, and responsive. All of these are qualities are a must when planning a wedding. My wife an I met with all of the “top wedding caterers in Charlottesville” and We chose Blue Ridge over them all because of they made us feel comfortable and welcome. They also were able to handle my wife’s celiac allergy. We got married in June of 2015 and to this day we still keep in touch with Sue and consider her a friend. We had the pleasure of working with Sue Dickau at Blue Ridge Café & Catering Company for our wedding in May 2017 at Keswick Vineyards in Charlottesville, VA. From our first tasting to the day-of, Sue & her team did not disappoint. Sue is highly experienced & full of knowledge regarding weddings, much of which was evident at our initial tasting/meeting. She made dietary accommodations for the groom & provided us with a variety of options to taste & choose from. From the beginning, we knew we had to go with her services. Over about 18 months, we worked closely with Sue designing our perfect menu. Sue gave us creative range, offering sensible suggestions along the way in order to allow us to stick to our budget. She walked us through all of our rentals & even attended a meeting with our event coordinator to finalize all day-of details. On the day of the wedding, she served dinner to my husband & I personally, and always made sure our champagne glasses were full. Guests raved about the food, and could not believe how warm, tasty, and well presented the buffet was that night. If you have guests with dietary requirements, she is more than accommodating & served up stellar dishes for them. She & her staff blew everyone away with the late night snack – grilled cheese triangles with tomato soup shooters. Finally, in Sue-like fashion, she packed us a snack to take to the hotel as we headed out of town for the honeymoon. 5-stars from us! Thank you Sue for everything!
