We were so lucky to have Brett as our photographer at our wedding in June 2024. She was recommended by the planner from our function hall, and was so easy to work with. She has a great eye for detail, and shot so many candid photos, which was exactly what we wanted. Throughout the process she was professional and easygoing, as well as sending us wonderful personalized gifts on more than one occasion. Really there are so many reasons to recommend Brett and you would be very happy with the results!

Brett was one of the first vendors that we had hired for our wedding and my now husband and I HIGHLY recommend that she capture your wedding. She did both our engagement shoot and wedding, which I highly recommend. Doing the engagement shoot with her really helped my husband and I get comfortable in front of the camera and seeing how she worked really calmed our nerves for the wedding – we knew we were in great hands! She is kind, and extremely communicative throughout the entire process – we never had to wait more than a day to hear back from her whether it was a question related to the wedding or asking for copies of our engagement photos. She was also able to provide a lot of information to us regarding what to expect, how to think about what we’d like to see in our photos, planning for the engagement shoot, etc. One of the main reasons we were enamored with Brett is her photography style. Brett’s photos are always so warm, and you can feel the joy radiating off everyone she captures. I felt true happiness going through her gallery and in that moment, we knew she was the photographer for us – we didn’t have to look around for anyone else! I also want to mention that she has an INCREDIBLE turn around time! She would give us an ETA and blow it out of the water – I’d see an email from her and be surprised she already had our photos ready for review. I can honestly say that going with Brett was one of the best decisions we made, I go through our wedding photos fondly and I’m ecstatic to see all the joyful moments she was able to capture. Another thing about Brett is that she has a cool head on her shoulders. On the day of the wedding, we arrived to the venue ~30 minutes behind schedule so we were a bit stressed. Brett was extremely calm, but direct when needed to be. Her laid backness and professionalism helped calm me down and before I knew it, I was getting ready and forgot she was there – which honestly helped with the nerves as well. She lets you really live and soak in the moment which, in my opinion, helped create the best photos. Lastly, I feel like what really makes Brett great is how much she cares. As I’ve mentioned before she was very kind and helpful throughout the entire process, and she’s also extremely thoughtful. About a month before the wedding we received a small care package in the mail completely by surprise. It was the sweetest gesture we had received from anyone and really helped us get excited for the wedding – thank you again Brett!!! I feel like I’ve been rambling for a bit, but I just want to shout from the rooftops how much I love Brett and recommend that you have her capture your special day. She is definitely someone I am recommending to anyone I know who gets married and I hope that whoever you are reading this, you’ll trust my review and the plethora of others who with their whole heart trusts Brett and can vouch for what a wonderful job she does.

just now NEW We hired Brett as our wedding photographer and I am so happy we did! I HIGHLY recommend her! Brett was one of the best/easiest vendors we worked with through out the wedding planning process and on our wedding day! We first met Brett during our engagement shoot! Brett was super flexible with our schedule and even did a small hike with all her gear to make our engagement photo dreams come true! My husband and I don’t love being photographed but Brett immediately put us at ease. The photos she took were absolutely gorgeous which made us so excited for her to capture our wedding day. A couple weeks before our wedding Brett sent us the sweetest gift which really proved how kind she was and how much she cares about all her clients. On our wedding day Brett arrived on time (or possibly early). She was extremly calm but direct when needed to be. Her laid backness made the day super stress free. Brett captured every moment in our day without us even noticing she was there! The morning after our wedding we received sneak peeks from Brett even after her almost 2 hour drive home! Within a few days we received even more sneak peeks and then the entire wedding gallery of 1000+ photos within a month (even during the busiest season)! Not only did we receive our USB gallery quickly but Brett customized the USB and USB holder (so kind of her). And if you think Brett didn’t already go above and beyond… we just received the cutest ornament with a photo from our wedding day! We are so thankful we found Brett and couldn’t have picked anyone better to capture our favorite day! We hope you give her the opportunity to capture your day too!

I would recommend Brett as a wedding photographer without hesitation - we had a phenomenal experience working with her from start to finish and the photos were absolutely gorgeous! We originally reached out to Brett because she had photographed a wedding at our venue before and the photos were so gorgeous that we knew that we were hiring someone who would do a phenomenal job. We were proven right when we received the photos from our engagement shoot, so we were confident going into the wedding! One of our favorite things about working with Brett was that she really focused on capturing the day rather than directing people. Her presence was very calm and laid back - everything felt really natural. She’s a great choice if you’re looking for a documentary style, but also want to capture some portraits. Brett shared a couple of super sneak peeks before we even woke up the day after our wedding and then posted a selection of beautiful shots a couple days later. We could not have been happier with the gallery of photos that we received while we were on our honeymoon and we’re looking forward to getting the album that we worked with her to design!

Highly recommend Brett as your photographer for your dream day. Every picture came out stunning and she really captured the joy and happiness of our wedding day. Her turn around time for getting us all of our wedding photos was also amazing! She even was able to incorporate our very high energy dog into our photos. Brett is great with capturing authentic and genuine photos without making pictures look posey. The day went perfect and Brett did amazing capturing all of our most important moments and all of our guests in attendance.

I seriously cannot stress enough how perfect Brett was throughout the entire wedding process. A few weeks before the wedding she sent us cookies and a sweet book of quotes to get through the process. Day of she was like a fly on the wall and at the same time gave me and my husband all the right poses that fit our personalities. The photos are super beautiful, and she has been so helpful to me and my family in ordering pictures and albums. She sent us a USB with the photos on them and reminded me and my husband multiple times to download the photos anywhere and everywhere we can. I think she was the best of all our vendors (not that the others weren't great).

Although we took thousands of photos, the experience was quite organic / natural and fun — Brett has a relaxed personality and goes with the flow of the day. In addition to the photography itself, we were very impressed by Brett’s professionalism, responsiveness, and flexibility as we planned our event; we had to move our wedding by 13 months due to the pandemic, and Brett was completely understanding and flexible. I saw images that Brett took for a family friend's wedding and knew immediately that she was the photographer I wanted to use for my wedding day. Her photos are light, airy, and natural. And the fact that she is such a friendly, calming person to be around was an added bonus! We are so grateful that we found Brett to photograph our wedding! She listened carefully to what we wanted (more natural, candid shots) and was very accommodating. We both felt very comfortable working with her despite being a bit camera-shy. We were completely blown away when we saw the photos- absolutely stunning shots, vivid colors, and most importantly, they really evoke the atmosphere and joy of the event. Brett was one of the easiest, most organized and helpful vendors we worked with for our wedding and the photos are wonderful! We hired Brett in fall 2019 for our original wedding date in 2020, and ended up pushing back to 2021, so we ended up working together for almost 2 years. Brett was thoughtful, competent, and made the whole process smooth and simple. She provided more than I expected, including very helpful guidance on the wedding day timeline. She wasn't pushy, but quietly made sure we got the photos we wanted, reminding us to take a moment for posed photos at our rehearsal dinner, golden hour at our wedding, and even getting a series of couple photos that we love and don't remember taking. Most importantly, we are very happy with the photos - but we really appreciated the ease of working with Brett too.

Brett was fabulous and when we got our pictures back it looked like there were at least two photographers at our wedding, we don't know how she managed to do that. She also helped us with a special panorama style photo that is one of our most commented on (and treasured) photos hanging in our house. Brett was absolutely amazing!! She is truly talented! My husband and I had to move our wedding up due to his mother's terminal cancer diagnosis and Brett was immediately ready to help! She was very flexible and easy going. She blended right into our wedding and we barely noticed her because we were so busy celebrating! I can’t even explain how amazing Brett was! Our first meeting she was open to all my silly fun ideas making me very comfortable for the months to come. She checked in on me, had me make a Pinterest of my ideas I was wanting and sent me really cute gifts! Brett photographed my sister’s wedding in 2012 and after knowing her style and approach to wedding photography we knew we wanted to work with her. My husband and I aren’t really fans of being photographed (unless it’s a planned selfie, of course) and the way Brett captured our day was perfect. We didn’t feel forced at all and a lot of our shots are just us being ourselves. She calls herself a photo ninja extraordinaire and we can attest to that! A few of our guests commented how they didn’t even see her taking pictures during our ceremony. Brett was great to work with and the added touches that she did along the wedding timeline were really nice. Not to mention she was quick to give us a preview of our day, which was fantastic!

I was so excited when I came across Brett's website, and portfolio. Her website included tips on how to make the most use of your time during your wedding, and we took all her great idea. We did a first look, and receiving line. This time saver also gave us time to enjoy our guests, and for her to take great photos of behind the scenes of us with them. When researching vendors, my husband and I spent most of our time looking at photographers. We had a specific style in mind, really high standards, and a lower budget. It was tough to find a photographer that fit all our criteria. Brett Alison was initially our favorite – she had the best editing & the best photos and her work includes great candids, which is something we wanted. From a quick look, we sadly thought she was out of our price range; however, I reached out to her via email and Brett was flexible with mixing and matching her photography packages to fit our budget. Once we signed a contract with her, we quickly received a package in the mail with homemade cookies and a nice book of quotes. The personal touch of that gift assured us that we made the right choice. We planned our wedding from out-of-town, so communication with Brett took place primarily via email or telephone. Brett was extremely responsive to emails and phone calls, and as wedding service professionals go, she is very organized. If ever we were late getting her paperwork, she sent a friendly email reminder after we had incurred a respectful amount of delay :) Also, when my husband and I were in town briefly to meet with our vendors, Brett drove ~1 hour to meet us. At the reception, Brett was perfect. Whenever we got off our schedule, Brett got us back on track in an extremely calm way, just as we had asked her to do. Whenever we needed family members present for a photo, Brett called them over, just as we had asked her to do. She captured all of the details we said we wanted and didn’t waste time photographing things we told her we didn’t care about. When we told her we wanted some posed photos--but not too many--she found the perfect balance. When we told her we had twice as many bridesmaids as groomsmen, she found great ways to arrange the formal photos. Otherwise, she faded to the background & captured all of the moments that we wanted without us noticing that she was there. She asked for our input and preferences during the planning process & then used that information to be the perfect photographer for us, meeting every single need and request that we had.​ After the ceremony & before the reception, my husband & I decided to make a stop at a local park to take more photos. Brett was flexible & took great photos on the spot without ever having been there. At the end of the reception, Brett even offered to stay a little longer to photograph our exit. After the wedding, Brett posted a Facebook album of some of the photos within 4 days of the wedding. She posted our full gallery less than 30 days after the wedding and sent a package with a USB of digital prints just a few weeks after the wedding. We can't make a stronger recommendation for a photographer. Brett’s professionalism and level of service is the best you can find--at every step, she helped lower our stress levels. Wedding planning is tough because of all the things a bride and groom DON'T realize can happen. Having a photographer who knows how to prepare for and handle the unexpected goes a really long way. Finding someone like Brett, who does all of that at an incredibly affordable price, helped make it a perfect night for us. NOTE: We came across some photography companies with long contracts that included absurd stipulations. Be wary! Brett’s contract was straightforward and succinct, another nod to her personal and inviting style.

My husband and I were married 2 months ago and we love our photos! I love taking photos so I was a bit picky about who we were going to choose to take photos to last a LIFETIME. I have family and friends who have shown me their wedding photos and I knew what I was looking for... photo-journalistic but still capturing the emotion of the moment without being forced cold or corny. I have to agree with the others that the engagement session was key and she includes it in her package because it does help establish the tone for what to expect on your wedding day and also for her to see what your chemistry is with your partner since every couple is different. We were impressed by her professionalism from the get-go during our first meeting with Brett in Newport, Ri. Since she was fortunately still available on our date, we asked her to capture our day right away. I actually was referred to her from one of her former clients whose photos I already knew I loved. She was very flexible on where she would travel, from Newport for engagement photos to Buzzards Bay, Ma for the wedding. She may not be at the lowest end of the price point but think about what you are trying to do - capture images that you will look at over and over for the REST of your life! Plus she gives you an amazing deal on purchasing with her after. The actual wedding day was fantastic - she has a calming presence and already had established a rapport with my husband so he knew how to put him at ease as well. I valued her for her ability to be frank with her advice so she can get you to look your best. She was able to direct my very large family and she also makes sure she is well staffed. Just look at his website's photo gallery and you'll see endless examples of her talents and skills! This is what I mean by memorable photography! We will no doubt join her following of other couples who come back for anniversary photos or photos with our future kids!

I knew of Brett's photography because she photographed a friend's wedding. I was so impressed with her work that I knew I wanted her for my own. I knew she would deliver high quality photos of "moments" in addition to the posed, arranged photos (although we had all the standard wedding photos like all the bridesmaids, groomsman, wedding party, dress, etc.) Brett solicited our input about what "set up" photos we wanted, and then captured moments that made the day come alive whenever we look at the photos. The best part, though, is that I found an amazing photo on Pinterest and asked her if she could possibly capture a photo like it. (It was a night time photo, with a backlight of us kissing in the snow.) Thankfully, Mother Nature provided the snow fall, and Brett captured the moment perfectly. I tear up just thinking about how she made my photo dream come true. Brett also got great shots of all of us, the decor and many moments that passed us by as we were flitting from person to person. We lived our special day all over again looking at her proofs. And we got a sneak peak just days after our wedding, and the proofs came in a timely fashion. Every step of the way she worked with us to understand the process, and now we have ordered the photos and she is still there to answer our questions. Brett is amicable, easy going, calm (even though we were crazy that day, in the freezing cold and snow, and she was very pregnant!) You will get exactly what you ask for, and then some. Highly recommended!

We were looking for someone just to shoot the ceremony and before/after--not the many-hours full-service very directive deal. She was exactly right, managing to be everywhere at once without being intrusive. Many wonderful shots and the price was right!

We chose Brett as our photographer based on her outstanding portfolios and definite talent for creating beautiful and incredible photos. She has the ability to tune in and capture incredible candid moments that just melt your heart and take your breath away. When looking for a photographer we wnated someone who had experience, had a lot of examples, someone friendly and communicative, as well artistic.....we found all that and more with Brett Allison Photography. Brett invited us intot he conversation of what we wanted from our photography, listend to what we said, and provided ideas of her own. Our final shots are amazing. Not only did she arrange and get the traditional family shots, but also many many artistic photos of everyone there. She is the type of professional photographer you can hire, and just let them do their thing (with some input of course) and trust that you are going to get a great end result.
