After a long day exploring the trails at Buffalo Gap Guest Ranch, you can relax in the comfortable restaurant and lounge areas. Those who prefer more modern amenities can stay in one of the 27 fully-furnished, air-conditioned cabins. In the evening, your guests will love hitting the dance floor for some old-fashioned cowboy dancing or huddling around a bonfire. We Built Buffalo Gap in 2001 and are privately owned and family operated. In 2015 we remodeled our old barn that had always been used for cattle and horses into our own wedding barn! Since then we have hosted around 80 wedding receptions. What has made us a very popular venue in the Medora area is the main things. 1 we are very affordable. 2 is the privacy, not many wedding crashers out in the pasture! 3 is the scenery and comfort out here. So if you are looking to not break the bank, feel right at home and have an experienced wedding venue, we are the hosts for you!

Beautiful spot, super clean, lovely staff.
Don’t judge a book by its cover, wasn’t sure we were at the right place at first.
Stopped here for a night, great room with two queens and a bunk bed for the kids. Huge deck out back with incredible vi...
ews. Special treat to watch a brand new foal with its momma out in the pasture.
Spent some time playing pool with the kids in the dining room while my husband caught some 💤. Staff was kind and helpful, even brought firewood for us cause we were eyeing up the pit.
Rooms are rustic but the linens, bathrooms, and appliances were immaculate. Good size mini fridge too.
Restaurant had cold beer, great food, and a salad bar too!

On a long road trip I ran into some engine issues. While staying at Buffalo Gap Ranch I started looking into my engine problem and I ended up losing part of a tool down in part of the engine. I had a bunch of tools with me, but not the right to...
ols to retrieve that piece...and there was absolutely no way the engine would run and no way I could get home unless I got that piece back out. They were more than happy to help me and got some of their own tools and we were able to get that piece out and the engine running again. They totally saved my butt. The people that own the ranch and their hired hands are saints!

I recently stayed at this lodge located in an incredible remote spot, and it was a very unique experience. The lodge has its own restaurant and offers absolutely breathtaking views of the surroundings. However, I was disappointed with the clean...
liness of the room. There were crumbs on top of the mini fridge and even an unopened beer inside. The box foundation for the mattress was torn and clearly past its lifespan, and there were some dead bugs around the room, indicating a lack of thorough cleaning.
Despite these issues, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which helped make the stay more enjoyable. The lodge has a massive parking lot, which is convenient for oversized vehicles, and the overall atmosphere was quiet and relaxing.
While the lodge has potential, I found it to be overpriced considering the cleanliness issues and maintenance needs of the room. It's a decent stopover when traveling through the area, offering a unique experience and beautiful views, but I wouldn't necessarily give it a high recommendation unless improvements are made.

We parked in the overflow area with 50amp hook up only. Level gravel spot. Sites are set up a bit different, two sites front to end with the power pole in the middle. Water spigot was available close to sites 41/50 so could easily fill. Bar and...
grill on site, friendly staff. Access road to the ranch is dirt and gravel not much washboarding. The road up to the RV sites needs some leveling of the holes. Beautiful sunsets.
