Christine's prices were lower than other storefront bakeries, the same price as the professional home baker I originally booked, and unlike the storefront bakers she used the meringue buttercream without an upcharge. When I picked up my cake samples from Christine, they were professionally packaged, slices of actual cake (not cupcakes or anything else, they bake and taste differently), and looked wonderful. The carrot cake was amazing and so was the tiramisu. And when I tasted the buttercream, I knew I had found the my new baker. A couple weeks later I was having the hardest time finding a caterer with any professionalism within my budget. Every caterer recommended to me by my venue, other vendors, local groups was flakier than the last. I understand many have restaurants and other primary businesses, but honestly, they could not manage to return basic inquiries or even couldn’t give me quotes on time. Every time I had a question (what is included in terms of service staff, in terms of serving ware, do you have chafing dishes or do I have to provide), I had days sometimes weeks of delays. One caterer went out of the country for 3 weeks. Didn’t get back to me until he returned and then was surprised I didn't want to work with him. I was at my wits end and texted Christine for caterer recommendations. She asked me what I needed, and then she told me she and her staff could handle it. The next day she got me an actual quote, a professional one. It was in budget, had everything and bam. I signed the (also professional) contract. I am a foodie. Very particular about recipes and ingredients. And I had a panic attack about the quantity of food and kept adding food to the order until Christine was like “I promise you have enough.” I put a lot of faith in the quality of her buttercream because I didn't taste anything. And I was not disappointed. Her Mac and Cheese was amazing. I got so many compliments on my grazing board, the scones, the side dishes and salads, everything was delicious. And my guests all had only lovely things to say. She went above and beyond with her empathy, understanding, and professionalism. And her food was great. She was more than a vendor, she was a source of sanity and stability in a chaotic time. A friend. Can’t recommend her enough. Cake or Caterer, you can't go wrong with C Marie's.
