This venue was amazing. We had the most perfect brunch wedding and reception in the gazebo garden. The lodge handled everything and we did not worry about a thing. If you are looking for an all inclusive venue this is the place. The prices were very reasonable for the area. We had our wedding in May 2022 . The garden needed very little decorations of our own because the flowers in the garden were in full bloom. The brunch menu had a variety of options to choose from and all was delicious. The prime rib and country potatoes were particularly scrumptious. They handled everything but the decorations. Highly recommend!
I am so happy we had our wedding here! I began working with the venue sometime in December 2020, so all of the planning was done over 6 months. I worked with Holly, who was great. She was very helpful and did a great job with getting everything set-up and the beginning half of the planning figured out. I'm not sure if she stopped working there, but around March we moved to work with the manager, Sharon. I had no problems with this because she was amazing. If I had questions about anything, or needed to figure something out she was always willing to chat with me over the phone. I sent her so many emails, and she was always kind enough to respond; the response time was usually between 1 to 3 days. It wasn't until sometime in mid-April the responses would come a little later, or I would have to send a follow-up email. I wasn't too surprised by this since it the beginning of wedding season, and I knew they had a lot of events planned between then and my wedding day, which was in June. As it got closer to the wedding date, the responses were back to being super quick, and I felt confident that everything would be set up perfectly the day of. I was very appreciative of her easily making multiple changes and additions I made a couple of weeks before the wedding. She always made me feel like it wasn't a problem.
I also communicated with Jollyne, who was very helpful with getting my room booked for wedding week, and setting up the blocked rooms for my guests.
What I also liked about this venue is there's a plant nursery attached (The Cambria Pines Nursery). I booked my flower arrangements with them, which I was extremely pleased it. My flowers looked amazing! Meghan was wonderful in putting together all these colors and flowers that fit our theme perfectly. It was also very convenient since they waive the delivery fee since the florist is right there.
Overall, this was a beautiful place to get married, especially in June. The garden was filled with gorgeous flowers, so I didn't need to add much for decorations. All of our guests thought the venue was beautiful, and they all enjoyed the food. We had the chicken and salmon with some addition sides, which everyone thought tasted great. We rented the games they offer, which a lot of our guests enjoyed using, especially those who aren't big on dancing. It was really funny to hear other guests who were staying at the lodge commenting on how fun and beautiful the wedding looked from the dining area.
One thing I would mention is, if you plan to have a rehearsal, there isn't a event person to help you with organizing the movement for the ceremony. Also, there isn't a designated area for getting ready. So my bridesmaids and I got ready in the room by the gazebo garden, which was the room where I was staying; while my husband and his wedding party got ready in their rooms and met up in his room for the photos.
We eloped here and paid for their "elopement package". No one even knew we had our ceremony planned the day it happened. My husband kept saying it was "just us" and not to worry too much.
That's the thing; no one wants to be treated like they don't matter, like it's "just us" on our G-D wedding day. An ultra-low effort phone call to our room, or an even lower-effort email a few days before, asking us if we were all set, would have changed things drastically for the better. We hadn’t heard a peep since the end of February. We called the day of our wedding to make sure they knew we existed. The front desk told my husband that they sent our officiant away at 1 pm and were under the impression our ceremony was at 2 pm. It was at 4 pm, but imagine if it really were at 2 pm and we are getting a call like this? And this is after we called the desk just to make sure they knew we existed in the first place. Paying $500 to reserve the space was a joke. We could have walked into the garden and done everything on our own with how clueless the staff was. I would have cancelled it when things got disappointing back in February, but couldn't since cancellations within 90 days of the event were not allowed. We were supposed to have a speaker to use for a bit of music. Never happened. We were supposed to have a few decorations from their office put on the champagne table. Nada. For a true elopement package, there was no “package”. I had to hire the officiant, photographer, everyone on my own. That’s fine but don’t call this a “package” because we got a free bottle of champagne.
It's true what they say about weddings being all about the guests and not the bride and groom. We had no guests, by choice. As a result, we got even less than what we asked for, which was pretty much "nothing" in the first place.
This was pathetic.
The room are worn and moldy. The staff are horrid!!! Worst of all they are crooks and will ruin your big day and steal your money!!!
Our Micro-Wedding was on October 23, 2020. Jollyne helped me every step of the way to set up my big day. Every time I had a questions, she responded quickly and with all the information I needed. Holly helped me the day of and she made my design come true. She assisted me to make sure everything was how I wanted and that everything ran smoothly, which it did. The service for our reception was great and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend Cambria Pines Lodge!
We recently had our wedding at Cambria Pines Lodge and were so happy about how everything turned out. Jollyne and Jayce were the two that really made sure everything was all planned for the wedding and they were extremely responsive and professional. The staff ensured that everything was set up for the wedding and even when there was a possible chance of unexpected rain the day of, they had a backup plan. Our pictures turned out gorgeous, the gardens are such a beautiful backdrop and the gazebo is gorgeous as well. We stayed in the bridal suite for two nights and it was super spacious and comfortable. Several of our guests stayed multiple nights as well and all were very happy with their stays.
My husband and I had our 20th anniversary/ renewal at the lodge and we loved the staff. The reception was beautiful they took good care of us and our guest
Reading this venue’s response to people’s reviews proves that this is not the place to pick for your wedding.
I was married here. The venue is beautiful and the food is amazing, BUT the service is below poor:
1. Throughout the whole planning of the wedding the communication was returned to us always after several emails and calls.
2. The day before, when checking in, the front desk lady did not believe I was the bride even after showing her my ID. It took forever to get our bridal suite due to discrimination.
3. The night before, we had reserved for our rehearsal and dinner. They had set up some "movie event" on the main garden and we could not have a proper rehearsal!
4. They would not serve the married couple (of legal age) our champagne to toast because they confused us with this younger couple even though they had obtained all of information. We had to stop our reception to find our wallets (as the married couple) to show our ID's so that we could continue with our toasts with the champagne we had payed for.
5. My board with the date of the wedding and our last name written in calligraphy was left behind. We were told they would hold it for us. When we came back they had wiped (purposely because it takes liquid to wipe off) our wedding memory for our home and used it for another event as if it was theirs.
Just Disappointing.
Beware!! The event staff communicates very, very poorly. No response to emails or calls. Then after we were assured we had paid our entire bill they charged our debit card without our knowledge or permission two months after our event. We asked for them to reverse the charges so we can pay a different way but the said they contacted us numerous times before they charged the card and didn't hear back from us and they won't work with us. Mind you we never received a final bill--nothing sent in the mail. An email was sent two months later and a voicemail message. I tried telling them I thought we were all paid but they didn't care. BEWARE of how shotty their event staff do business. So disappointed as we had a lovely event. Beware!!
We had both our ceremony and reception in the gardens of CPL. The landscape is beautiful and well kept, and no matter the time of day the sun shines through the greenery in the most romantic way. It is hard not to feel the magic in these gardens. The food was great and our guests loved it! It was so refreshing to have food that wasn't typical wedding food, looking at you Rice Pilaf. Katy and Marcos are extremely helpful and quick to answer any and all questions. They made the whole day flow so smoothly. I am forever grateful for everyone's hard work and kindness.
The staff was very accommodating, knowledgeable, and friendly.
Cambria Pines Lodge was the perfect venue for our small wedding (70 guests) and reception. Our wedding took place at 11:30am in the gazebo, followed by cocktail hour, lunch, and dancing in the gazebo garden. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and made for a perfect backdrop for everything. Saul, head of catering went over and beyond, before, during, and after the wedding to assure everything was perfect. Many of our guests stayed at the lodge in the newly renovated rooms. The bar was fun and great place to relax with guests after the wedding. Cambria Pines Lodge has a warm, throw back feel to it.
Beautiful spot. Calli was great at handling all the many questions and making everything seem doable. Saul was terrific on the day of. The food was delicious. Recommend the Lodge 100%
After finding the perfect ceremony spot in San Simeon, just outside of Cambria, we knew we needed to find a good place for our reception. We had a few requirements for our reception: natural and intimate site; guests could rent a room there; they could fit a large amount of guests; beautiful place for pictures; and mostly blank slate for reception room. When thinking about the wedding, I had wanted the beach, the forest, and a garden/meadow. We were able to do the ceremony at William Randolph Hearst State Beach and Cambria Pines Lodge was able to give us an amazing mixture of both forest and gardens, as it has lush and enchanting gardens with secret passages, small hideaways and wonderfully quirky decorative touches surrounded by beautiful mature trees and with hanging Spanish moss.
We were able to select Cambria Pines Lodge in September for our June wedding and I began working with Cali to get ideas for the reception and cocktail hour. She was able to recommend various options to improve the wedding and helped to recommend one of the vendors that helped to make our entire reception beautiful. She was able to work with repeated changes to our planned/required items and helped to facilitate various tastings by various family members to choose a perfect pairing for our reception dinner. When we walked into the reception room after the ceremony, I was quite nervous the room wouldn’t be complete, but there Cali was personally seeing to it that everything was complete and finishing off the last touches. Saul was an amazing asset to help facilitate and organize the set up and take-down of the entire room, even helping to clean off and package away personal dishes and glasses that we had brought in. We had multiple guests comment on the amazing experience that they had at Cambria Pines Lodge, including the guest rooms, reception room and gardens, and the food and service. We are extremely pleased with the entire reception at Cambria Pines Lodge and the work of Cali, Saul, and the entire staff at Cambria Pines Lodge and we would highly recommend this as a site for an amazing and beautiful wedding for anyone looking within San Luis Obispo County or the California Central Coast.
Our overall experience with the Cambria Pines Lodge for our wedding was excellent! We got married in mid September, it was about 80 - 90 people, so sorta small. Below are some of the highlights of our experience:
- Service: The staff as CPL is probably one of it's strongest selling points. The event manager Calli is extremely responsive and really made me feel like I was in good hands. For any question or challenge she always approached it with a "yes, lets see how we can figure this out" type of attitude. Which is EXACTLY what you want in a vendor for your wedding. She really went above any beyond in every way to make sure the day went off perfectly. The head of catering Saul is also amazing, very organized, fast, and helpful to keep the party moving. The entire day and evening we were pretty care free and just got to enjoy ourselves - this is 100% due to the excellent service by the CPL team.
- Location: Most of my guests were from the East Coast (New York), they all really loved the Lodge. They thought it was super cute, beautiful, and in all honest it has a bit of a "hipster" vibe which of corse many of our friends loved. We actually did our wedding in technically FOUR locations: ceremony in the amphitheater (with rolling hills as a back drop), cocktail hour in the vegetable garden, outdoor dinner in the main gazebo garden, and then dancing in the Peacock room. Each one we decorated to be super unique, but our guests loved the different settings - and thought each one was really beautiful.
- Value: We didn't have a huge budget to work with and we knew the wedding would need to be very DIY. That said, the Lodge really offers are great option for a place to get married at an excellent value. I did a lot of cost comparisons with other locations on the Central Coast, the lodge's location fees are way more reasonable compared to other places and the catering options give a lot of flexibility for making the kind of menu you want. Plus our guest were able to stay at the lodge which make it super convenient for them to get to/from the wedding, everyone I talked to said the rooms were lovely especially for the price (again these are New Yorkers...but still the rooms are a good deal).
- Food/Booze: We got a mix of appetizers for the cocktail hour, all were really yummy. Then we did the mixed grill buffet, which our guests said they really liked because they could pick and choose which meat(s) they wanted, then we had some dancing time apps also. Callie and Saul were also super accommodating to help make sure our bar options were excellent. We did open bar the entire time, but we also special ordered a drink for our cocktail hour. Then we had the local Firestone beer as a keg (very smart move) and brought in our own wine. The bar ended up being perfect, a great mix of options for all our guests.
Overall we were really happy that we went with having our wedding at the lodge. They helped us so much prepare for the big day, then when it finally came we didn't have to worry about a thing, all we had to do is have fun, drink, eat and dance!!!
My Husband and I were married here at the Gazebo with our reception here also in the peacock room. The staff was amazing! A little rough communicating at first, but once we expressed concern communication was extremely easy! With the staff at the lodge making sure we had what we needed at all times and helping us with the menu and our coordinator Lisa Karcher, owner of Elegant Affairs Event Design and Coordination, not one single thing went wrong! If it did, they fixed it!! This was a dynamic duo!!! Can't say enough!!!
We got married here in April 2015, and the day could not have gone better. Our guests raved over the beautiful setting for our outside wedding, the fabulous food, and of course all the wonderful staff at The Lodge that took such good care of us. Wonderful day, wonderful place, wonderful people to work with!
The staff at Cambria Pines Lodge was amazing and very accommodating. The weather wasn't so sunny for my wedding and they had to move the ceremony indoors. It turned out spectacular. It was so lovely and romantic. I was overjoyed.
I love the lodge. We chose this venue after getting engaged in the area. It is absolutely beautiful. The garden gazebo was the perfect place for the ceremony. You totally save on flowers because the gardens are so beautifully kept. We had so many options to take photos that were private and away from guests so that we could get photos done and return quickly to the party. The bridal suite is literally next ti the garden, so it was so convenient to make sure no one saw me before the wedding. The staff at the lodge was very accommodating and professional. Rebecca Ramos is the banquet and wedding manager and she was amazing. She answered every question I had and even made sure our food was gluten free (I have celiac disease). Saul was in charge of the reception and he was incredible. Seriously, if you're looking for a venue on the central coast go to the lodge! From the staff to the experience it is an incredible deal!!
Not only were the bride and groom pleased with the venue, but the guests were blown away as well! We actually stumbled upon the venue while looking online, and we are so pleased we did. It is the most beautiful place for a quaint, intimate wedding! And the affordable price is just the icing on the cake! The grounds are beautiful and have sectioned off coves so even if there are other events at the same time, it is never crowded. It is a perfect scenery for pictures and one of our guests went home with the idea of replicating a "secret garden" in her backyard. Can't say enough good things about this place. The food was absolutely wonderful and the service was pleasant! This venue exceeded any and all expectations I (especially as a bride!) had!! I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone
cambria pines nursery did an amazing job! my flowers were so beautiful!!! The florist was amazing, she knew what i wanted and created it, very reasonibly priced and great communication!!
My now husband, myself, and all of our guests had an unforgettable day in the Cambria Pines Lodge gazebo garden. The setting was gorgeous and the staff was amazing. Thank you to Rebecca and Tyler for all of their amazing efforts. We couldn't be happier with our decision to have our special day here :)
Cambria Pines Lodge and their staff was absolutely amazing. They truly took care of us on our wedding day. They had such a great and personable staff that helped keep everything running smoothly. My husband and I can't begin to rave enough about their day of coordinator, Tyler, who was phenomenal. Our guests loved every moment there at Cambria Pines Lodge.
If I could give 1/2 stars, I would make this a 4.5 review. The Cambria Pines Lodge was the perfect venue for our small wedding (40ppl, counting us)! We were married in the White Garden, had a cocktail reception in the Green Garden, and then had dinner/dancing inside the Sycamore Room. The Lodge itself is quaint and the rooms are slowly being remodeled, but the grounds and surrounding area are why we chose this location. Rebecca in the Sales/Catering Office was very responsive and helpful with questions during the planning and Tyler with the Banquet Department did a wonderful job setting up our event and then keeping it running through the threat of rain. Kudos to the kitchen for preparing 30+ perfect filets at the same time as well! Nothing but rave reviews on the appetizers and entrees, thank you!
The took great care of us at my uncles wedding. great rooms and wonderful wedding site and reception!!
