Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown

Not only is this venue a dream come true but the hotel staff and coordinators made our wedding day and stay so special and easy! The decor we used to make it the space more 'wedding esque' was minimal (lighting, candles, and flowers being the main things,) as the atmosphere at the Upside is fun, modern, and romantic as it stands. We catered food and bar though the venue as well. The food options were all crowd pleasers, as they have an awesome and wide variety of options offered on the catering menu. We brought in some outside entertainment (sax player, DJ, etc.,) which were all accommodated so nicely by the Upside. They assisted in setting up extension cords and DJ connections to their indoor outdoor speaker system, and so much more! Our enthusiast, Sydney, even connected us with the M-Line trolly for the most epic send off ever! If you are looking for a breathtaking venue, awesome guest experience, seamless, stressless, night you won't forget, book the Upside!

We worked with Matilde from the start and she was amazing! We knew immediately after we saw the Upside bar and the Dallas skyline that no other venue would compare. Matilde and the Canopy worked with us throughout a COVID-19 wedding to keep our guests safe while preserving our original intentions. Our guests felt comfortable, safe, and were stunned at the beauty of the venue. From the guest rooms, the suite, to dinner everything was beyond our expectations. I cannot recommend Matilde, her team, and the Canopy by Hilton enough as a wedding venue. 10/10.

My husband and I hosted our son and daughter-in-law’s rehearsal dinner at The Canopy in Uptown Dallas in late May. We had visited the space one time and then worked with Sydney remotely to iron out all the details. Together, we were able to host a wonderful dinner for all our friends and family. Sydney was very supportive in helping me decide on the menu, the bar options and all the other details that make your event so special. She was even able to connect me to a local florist, Mad about Flowers, who helped to set the tone with her beautiful bouquets. The food was so delicious and we were told over and over again how wonderful the venue and dinner were by all who attended. I highly recommend The Canopy in uptown Dallas for your private event. The space was beautiful, the food was amazing and the view of the city skyline was breathtaking.

We had our wedding reception here and used the hotel for our block of rooms. It is brand new, gorgeous and has the most amazing rooftop views of downtown Dallas. The rooms are very nice and clean and come with Nespresso in each room. Guests enjoy an all-you-can-eat breakfast as well. It has a workout facility too. We rented out the "rooftop" 8th floor bar, patio and convention space for our wedding. We worked with Matilde every step of the way. We did a tasting for the food and really enjoyed the whole planning process. We loved the space and it comfortably fit 100-120 people with indoor and outdoor seating. Our wedding planner and florist were able to integrate their designs easily and effectively. Mati was there to help throughout the whole process. The food served was slightly different than what we tasted (smaller portions) but it was super delicious and our guests enjoyed the white glove service. The Chef did an outstanding job. They also have carving stations you can buy (like fish, tenderloin, etc.) which comes with sides. People loved it and the food tasted great! The sunset was magical and we got the most beautiful photos. I highly recommend this hotel to have a wedding or any kind of party on their rooftop. Our only concerns were the cost, and sometimes the hotel nights for our group rate were more expensive than what our guests could find online for our same hotel. Also suggest if you have an Open Bar, we recommend that you convert to cash bar after a certain hour, or your tab will be out of control (ours was double what we expected / budgeted based on their own initial recommendation). Also, drinks left unattended for even a second get cleared . . so hold on to your beverages or else you have to buy another! Even if I put down my champagne to take a picture, I'd turn around and it's gone. Our guests also mentioned to me they overheard the bartenders complaining they had to serve our wedding and didn't want to do a private event. They were very rude to quite a few guests who all mentioned it to us . . . Unfortunate lack of training in the bar and cleanup crew. We complained and they said "too bad". Our only disappointment was the bar, and we did not get a credit of any kind for drinks that went grabbed before drank, rude bartenders, or overcharging. On a lighter note, we also had our Brunch here the next day. We got a mix of the breakfast options and coffee, yogurt and cereal stations. Again the chef and kitchen staff truly excelled. They were polite and very helpful. Love the food staff. Our guests loved the food options and it truly was delicious. We way overbought though and a lot if it got thrown away. We recommend buying like 1/3 of the guests for brunch. We did less than half and it was way too much food, but it was priced appropriately so not a worry either way. All in all it was a wonderful experience and we have the most amazing photos to prove it!
