Canterbury handled the catering, bar, ceremony location, and reception location. Having a venue that handled everything reduced so much stress and made planning a dream. Angie was amazing to work with and was always open to questions. My wedding was in March and the venue was perfect for not knowing how the weather would be. I was even allowed to take pictures with my wedding party on the carousel. I highly recommend Canterbury Castle!
Angela, Cindy, Chef Ezra and the entire staff are amazing!!! Our wedding day was exceptional because of the care and attention to detail by the three of them! Chef Ezra created the most delicious meals for our guests but the Filet Mignon was beyond our imagination! Likely the most beautiful and most delicious filet we've ever had! His mashed potatoes and his oven roasted potatoes are to die for! Angela and Cindy were the very best venue coordinators we could have ever imagined working with. They worked in perfect unity to make sure our day would be just as we envision it! So sweet, so kind, so wonderful no matter how many times I called or texted them as I worried over every detail:) Angela even showed up to our wedding to help in the kitchen after just getting back home from a quick getaway! They are devoted people who love what they do and it shows. It's also very evident that they all work together very well.
We almost had our wedding at another venue and we are sooooooo happy that we chose Canterbury Castle! It was the very best decision.
Everyone should get married at the Castle!
Our wedding was everything I dreamed of AND more.
Angela was so nice and I never saw her without a smile! She helped us through the entire process and answered our millions of questions. Everyone liked the food and the place was beautiful! We had our wedding during the holiday stroll and some of our guests walked around and got a taste of what Canterbury Village is all about!
Wow am I happy with our wedding at Kings Court Castle and Canterbury Village! My husband and I chose Kings Court for its unique charm (we’re huge Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones fans) and the affordable price. We happened to be one of the many couples impacted by COVID, and had to postpone our wedding twice before having our big day on September 5, 2021. Angela, the event coordinator at Kings Court, was super supportive every step of the way. She never gave us trouble the multiple times we asked to move our date. Sometimes it would take a few days to get an email response back, but I attribute this to how busy the staff was navigating event planning during the pandemic. On the day of our wedding, our guests were absolutely raving about how great the venue was! We got so many compliments on the food (especially those rolls!) and how cool and unique the aesthetic of the venue was. The entire evening the staff was super present and friendly, and my Dad complimented the bar tenders on the generous pours they were giving out! At the end of the evening when we were cleaning up, Angela was there to help and even hugged and congratulated us on the big day. The entire venue provided the perfect backdrop for pictures, and we even ended the night with a late-night snack from the Yate’s Cider Mill Store at Canterbury Village, a Michigan Fall staple. If you are a couple looking for a unique and memorable wedding venue and quality service without going into serious debt, Kings Court Castle is the go-to in metro Detroit. Thank you to Angela and the entire staff at KCC for helping make mine and my husband’s wedding a dream come true!
Read my google review for details, but they completely ruined my entire wedding
This place is amazing and beautiful, if you’re looking for the fairy tale wedding then this is it! The weight staff was fantastic and the food was great. Worth every penny!
This venue was wonderful. The were very accommodating. It was a great space and I loved that the chapel was withing walking distance of the reception rooms! I would highly recommend this location for all your needs and price was absolutely right.
We had our ceremony at the chapel and our rehearsal at the King Henry Hall. We are extremely happy with our decision, the food was delicious, staff with super friendly, and the place was beautiful! Not to the mention the price was extremely affordable.
Kings Court Castle was a great venue for our wedding. I loved the castle look from the moment I stepped in. I also liked the barn look of the chapel. We did end up getting a 5 foot wide aisle runner as the carpet was kind of dirty looking. We also got a rug to cover the tile during the ceremony as the tile looked broken in spots and a little dirty as well. We made it look beautiful for our ceremony. At the first food tasting the good was so so but they were incredibly accommodating and helped us create a menu that our guests love. The reception was great and the hall is beautiful! The only other thing that was tough for me was that no one was allowed in to KCC before 10 am. This caused some stress as at 10 am I was getting ready. My mom and my aunt's had to go to and set up the hall but it all worked out. Overall I would highly reccommend KCC. Angela was very responsive and helpful and did all she could to make it the best day ever for us!!
This was the perfect venue for our big day! Angela, the new lady who handles the weddings is stellar. She's friendly, understanding, and quick to answer any little questions you have leading up the the wedding.
The wedding day went smoothly, the staff on site was professional and friendly and the food was amazing. They provided generous portions to my gluten free party members who couldn't stop gushing over how good the food was.
Our only complaint was pretty mild from a little lack of communication: when we had booked the venue, there had been a piano in the chapel, but something happened to it and they're working to get a new one. We found this out the day before, during rehearsal.
Bottom line: still highly recommended.
Our wedding and reception at Kings Court Castle turned out beautifully! We got tons of comments on the venue about how beautiful and unique it was. Our guests seemed to enjoy the food and the bar was fully stocked and the bartenders were great! We did have a couple of snafus with some plans that we'd made, a staffing change right before our wedding and no staff present during our rehearsal ending up with us being locked out on a cold night. While I didn't feel like the staff was very apologetic, we were still able to have our perfect wedding day. The grounds and property are beautiful and were a beautiful backdrop for our photos. I would definitely recommend!
I attended a wedding at King's Court Castle this past January, and I have been meaning to leave a review...I just wanted to comment that we had such a great time, the hall, property and chapel were just beautiful, even in winter! I also want to add that my husband and I both suffer from food allergies and the staff/chef had no problem accommodating those needs, and made us a great meal that we could enjoy. Job well done!!
Kings Court Castle helped us have a dream reception! The staff was so helpful and the night was beautiful. We would not have changed a thing!
They were great at communicating, relieved all of my stress about the ceremony and reception, did everything they could to make our day amazing, and were always friendly and helpful. I highly recommend to anyone looking to get married in the area, in a beautiful place, with delicious food, friendly staff, and on a budget!
While the prices and packages are affordable we had several issues with this venue from start to finish. In the beginning there were several mix ups with our appointment time for a menu tasting, because we weren't going to book a venue before trying food as my husband is a chef. While they gave us a few price breaks for the mix ups it should have been a warning sign to us. Closer to the wedding date, there was a lot of scrambling to get our list turned in and the prices completed for payment. Then when my father called to bring the payment he is told the receptionist cannot accept it. All still pretty small things. We were told we could get in at 10 am the day of the wedding to set up and decorate the reception hall and chapel. While that was wonderful, when we pay a cleaning fee as did everyone else, it was a shock what my bridesmaids walked into. The reception hall was trashed, there were buckets to catch water dripping from the ceiling. Floor was dirty, trash was everywhere under tables, on window sills, on tables, etc. No skirting was even ready on the head table and some of the table cloths were dirty even. The chapel also needed to be vacuumed and cleaned. Thankfully I never heard a word of it until after the wedding because my bridesmaids didn't want me to worry. Once the day started, everything was going pretty well and I was just ecstatic to be marrying my best friend. That is when the other issues arose, which when I brought to the event planners attention after I was told there was nothing they could do and sorry for your luck basically. Now, at venues that have multiple halls wedding crashing is possible. Not only did we have wedding crashers but thieves. They came in and used the photo booth, stole the guys props, helped themselves to my open bar and walked off each time they left with cake. I put a stop to them myself and my bridal party went on the hunt for ANY staff members period. Now, when you are paying $80 a person plus some for a bar, food, etc it is very irritating that others can hop in and just help themselves because their wedding "wasn't as fun" as they told my husband. All in all it is a pretty good venue, but you get what you pay for. The customer service and accommodations just aren't really there in concerns to really paying attention to details and making sure its clean and ready for the next event. Communication is also poor between most people there so it is just a mess across the board for things like that. I was happy with my day but shocked with the lack of care and concern from the venue about holding up their end of matters. It felt kind of like
"well we got your money already so tough".
Had such an amazing time at Robbie and Melissa's wedding! Thank you for the great services you provided! Best wedding ever!!
We absolutely loved how our wedding turned out at King’s Court Castle. The only downside to this venue was little to no participation by the vendor. While they were responsive it often took a while, and there was absolutely no one there to assist with day of concerns. The ladies’ bathroom flooded the day of and they put a sign out however it was like pulling teeth to get in touch with someone. The one of the two bartenders were extremely rude to guests, my parents, and myself. The look of the venue was enough for us to overlook this and we still have people telling us how much. They loved the rolls!!
Our day was absolutely perfect and the venue brought our weddding dream to life! The bar tenders were amazing along with the rest of the staff being so friendly. Food was really good, our beef was cold and we told them right away and they fixed it for the rest of the guest. They were so accommodating and helped set out or doughnuts for the doughnut bar. We were in the King Richard room and it was so cozy and decorated for Christmas helping with the winter rustic feel of our wedding. The grounds are beautiful and we got amazing pictures. Our day was perfect and Kylie was so helpful with making sure everything ran smoothly. Definitely would recommend to people who are on a wedding budget but still want somewhere classy and delicious!
They ruined our wedding, We asked for our leftover food, they said it was against the law to give them to us, that was a lie. It went down hill from there. Bartender drank until the point of intoxication. We were charged 50.00 per pizza for late night snack. They only made 10 pizzas. No dessert plates brought out - they cleared food before everyone ate. They said the food was ready for bridal party - it was not - THE BANQUET MANAGER ATE OUR FOOD. Food was not kept warm while on the buffet line. Emily the evening employee was rude, and offensive as well as the office manager Kylie. I would never recommend this place. THEY HAVE NOT RETURNED OUR CALL IN OVER 3 WEEKS
We just got married at Kings Court Castle on 10/28/17 and are very happy with our choice. We wanted something different and unique and that’s exactly that they give you! We were in the King Richard room with 205 guests, we were able to bring in our own style because it’s all beautiful woodwork and goes with just about anything. We also used the chapel for our ceremony. It was the perfect mix of rustic and antique. Kylie was amazing to work with; very personable and quick to respond to my questions. The day of coordinator, Crystal is fantastic!! She was so attentive and helpful. The staff was easy going and allowed us to have a great time. The only thing I was bummed about is that I wasn’t told it was kids trick or treating the same day at Canterbury Village. It was so crowded we didn’t get to take some of the pictures we wanted too. Overall it was a great time, great venue and our wedding was perfect!
As a bride who recently had their wedding at Kings Court Castle, I take offense to the venue being called “cheap & a dirty dump. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but to make false overly exaggerated comments is unnecessary. My wedding was not cheap, & the venue was no where close to being a “dirty dump”. My ceremony was in the chapel not a shack, our wedding pictures behind the stained glass were beautiful. The staff was more then helpful, professional & lovely to work with. There was no issue with the restrooms what so ever the day of my event, in fact it looked like they were cleaned right before our arrival! Everyone has their own opinion when it comes to food. You will never please all your guests considering everyone has different tastes. I received several compliments from my wedding guest on how beautiful/unique & different my wedding was. They were impressed with the grounds, venue, & the convince of having the village with a verity of things to do! I personally feel bad for the bride who had this person stand up in the wedding. The bride liked the chapel & venue enough to book their wedding & was basically told the happiest day of her life was something she should be embarrassed by.
What a cheap and dirty dump. If you are looking to have your wedding, or, any other event at this space, please don;t.
First, the place makes no sense at all. If you want to get married in a shack of a "chapel", with a "Tiffany"stained glass window - which makes absolute ZERO sense in the location, you might be on to something...or, on something, for that matter.
The staff must have all partied hard together the night before, because they were all basically clueless AND useless.
The bathrooms were filthy. Come on, seriously??
The food was mediocre, at best.
"Canterbury Village" - is nothing more that a tacky Christmas shop with a grimy dollar store feel. Come on whoever owns this - Frankenmuth is barely up the highway. Why bother with this?
As a wedding party member, I was (and still am) a little pissed.
This place sucks.
Kylie was awesome to work with and our guests couldn't say enough great things about the venue. I wasn't very impressed with the wait staff and the bartender however.
The AC went out and we were not informed at first. venue looked great! Kylie was receptive of the issue with AC and is working with us to fix it. I would recommend them for sure!
I had my wedding at Kings Court Castle three years ago and it was perfect. I encouraged my sister to look into this venue as well and she’s glad she did. The King Henry and the chapel were both stunning and perfectly accommodating to her 150 guests! Her guests were blown away by the details of the woodwork and how unique this venue was compared to others she had previously looked at. The food was so tasty and the staff was nothing but helpful and attentive the entire night! The wedding was everything I could have wanted for my sister!
Before my fiancé and I even walked in the door we knew this place was totally wrong... but we had a tour scheduled so we couldn't back down. It reminded me of a middle schools idea of a renaissance festival. I highly recommend whoever took the photos of this place however - they made a white trash venue look pretty good.
I want to thank Kings Court Castle again for giving me my fairytale wedding. They really took all the stress out of having to plan a wedding. Everything is located onsite. My guests were able to show up for my ceremony in the Wedding Chapel & walk over to our reception. They were able to walk around Canterbury Village while we took our wedding pictures. We used flowers of the forest for our beautiful wedding arrangements. The best part is they are also located on site. For a late night snack Yates brought over cider and donuts, making it super easy for us considering they are apart of the village. You can’t beat the prices this truly unique wedding venue has to offer. Looking at other venues we got discouraged by pricing. With Kings Court Castle we were able to afford our dream wedding, with out loosing out on the quality of the food and great service. Thank you again Kings Court staff!!! If your looking for a wedding venue that has it all, makes everything stress free, and is affordable I highly recommend you give them a call.
I want to start by thanking Crystal, and Kylie for making our wedding day and night an amazing magical experience. Not only did we feel like we received the best customer service around, we were treated like family! The staff was extremely attentive with all of our wants and needs. The communication and ideas the staff provided was beyond exceptional! The chapel, landscape and all of the natural beauty in the castle make for such breathtaking photos we couldn't have asked for anything more. I got married in December but any time of year this venue would make for such a romantic ambiance, one that every bride should experience on her wedding day! Around the Holidays the inside of the Castle is decorated with just the right amount of holiday décor, while the grounds have a beautiful glow from the Christmas lights throughout the village. The food was great and the King Richard room was a wonderful place with access to the outdoor patio for a nice breath of fresh air after dancing the night away. Our guests got to enjoy the C-Pub and the Village shops while waiting for cocktail hour. I have received nothing but compliments from my guests on how impressed they were! I can't recommend this place enough! A true five star all around!
The staff and the service was the worst. As the Mother-of-Bride I am extremely disappointed in this venue. Kings Court Castle needs to hire better help. When we arrived, beer bottles from the night before were left on the ground, Vomit was left on the floor, tables were not set up, puddles of who-knows-what were all over the floor. The chapel's heat was not turned on, and the girl was vacuuming the carpet only hours before the wedding. My daughter, the bride, asked if the stage could be cleaned as there were dead bugs all over it, they gave her a broom, and she cleaned it herself. After the wedding, we were then informed we had to clean up the flower petals, so we had to clean the room before and after, what was the fee that we paid used for? At the reception the food was not ready when we were suppose to start, and they ran out of food. About a third of our guests did not get any chicken or beef. Do not even consider this venue for your wedding, this place is horrible!
We had our wedding Saturday evening at Kings Court Castle. We used the chapel that was located on site for the ceremony, the grounds for pictures, and the banquet hall for the reception. The entire venue from the banquet rooms to the outdoor grounds, and the chapel are beautiful. My questions were answered promptly and fully. The room was set up exactly as we had requested, the food was delicious, the appetizers were amazing, and we were able to accomplish it all while working within my budget. I was extremely happy with how professionally Canterbury handled the planning and execution of my wedding, and I would use them again. Also, we used the Canterbury Yates location for the favors (caramel apples) and the midnight snack (cider & donuts). Arranging both was so easy and enjoyable. I can’t thank the staff enough for making everything so easy for us, and for their excellent customer service. Over all my guests were impressed with Kings Court Castle, and I would highly recommend them for a wedding or an event!!!!
Kings Court Castle was the PERFECT venue for our wedding. The staff went out of their way to make our day incredible. From the ceremony and reception planning to the day of our wedding, everything went perfectly. The staff made sure that every little detail was taken care of. Our reception ball room was beautiful, giving us the romantic style we were going for. Kings Court Castle has a beautiful antique feel; with the hardwood floors, and breath taking chandeliers, there was no need for extra decorating. . The food was delicious, I was IMPRESSED that many of my guests said it was the best wedding food they've ever had!! Canterbury village was the perfect location for us to take our wedding pictures. Every inch of the property provides a breath taking photo worthy backdrop. The wedding coordinator Kylie was so helping in accommodating us with any and all requests from special meals to special drinks for our guests! !!! Everything we asked for we got and they even offered things we never thought to ask for. ABOVE and BEYOND my expectations. Highly Recommended.
TERRIBLE SERVICE AND STAFF. I mean THE WORST. I was a maid of honor for my sister's wedding there, I left a full review in google forums (it's extremely long, but that was the extent of the terrible service). Let me just say this: It was trashed when we got there for setup, all of the tablecloths were extremely wrinkled and stained (also the napkins) THERE WAS A PLATE holding up a side of one of the guest tables (yes, a dinner plate) AND ON THE BRIDAL TABLE as well. Vomit had been sitting in the bathroom the entire night/day. Absolutely a circus show asking for help- the manager continuously told me "this is how it is, and always has been." Completely unprofessional people there. It was a terrible experience, save yourself the trouble and do not book here- I have never felt the urge to leave a bad review until I experienced this. Check out my full review under Melissa Pellone if you want the whole story on google forums.
If you're looking for a winter or christmas venue this place is it! The entire place both inside and out take on a wonderful magical feeling. We appreciated that we were able to have the ceremony and reception in one location but two separate spaces/buildings. There was tons for our guests to do between the ceremony and reception which definitely helped with planning and everyone's excitement.
We ended up working with 3 different event managers which made things complicated. Each person we worked with had their own ideas - had I not been an event manager by trade it may have been more frustrating. The first manager we worked with discussed specific things with us that would be done and when the final manager began working with us she said they weren't possible.
Fast forward to the night of and Crystal was AMAZING! We had some hiccups with the table setups from what I had originally sent in and Crystal made sure everything was perfect throughout the whole night. The staff carrying out the day is what saved our experience. GREAT JOB!
My fiancé and I loved everything about this venue and all the little details throughout the chapel and reception halls. This was our first choice and we have no regrets! It's hard to describe just how beautiful the chapel and reception hall truly were and they made our pictures pop! The only frustrating thing was during the time I booked the venue and up until the wedding day they had 3 different coordinators. It did get confusing who I was trying to contact at times and the lack of communication between each coordinator became frustrating. Overall, I'm still highly satisfied with the outcome and each person I dealt with was polite and helpful. Minor mistakes did take place the night of our wedding but the gentleman assigned to us was on top of everything and made sure he brought things to our attention or the bridal parties attention so we weren't left in the dark. That was something I greatly appreciated! Hands down this was the most gorgeous venue we found and I recommend it to everyone!
We couldn't have been happier in choosing this venue for our wedding. The only drawback was that we went through 4 different event coordinators from the time we booked until our wedding day. The current coordinator is Kylie and she's the best one we worked with in our opinion! The banquet manager, Crystal, is also amazing! We loved Crystal and she worked very hard to make everything perfect for us! That place is absolutely gorgeous outside and inside. Our fall wedding was stunning. Another plus is we had Yates Cider Mill (on site) cater the dessert! It was fantastic as well. Highly recommend this venue!!!!
I love this venue! Its beautiful, elegant and best of all the staff are fantastic. They really treat you wonderfully on your wedding day. The grounds can be used for photos and they also have a carousel open for pictures too. They do more than just weddings and I would defiantly book them for another event.
Astoundingly beautiful and affordable to boot! The onsite chapel is beautiful and the grounds and pub provide plenty for guests to occupy themselves between ceremony and reception. The grounds are beautiful and allow you to do everything in one place!
The staff was very helpful and responsive to all communication!
When we began our wedding planning, our first stop was King’s Court Castle and after a bit of searching around, we decided the castle was just our style. The staff was excellent and really made our experience one to remember. The banquet staff and manager were both helpful and extremely professional. Our vendors even complimented the staff on their professionalism. Overall we were really impressed with our experience and have recommended the space to many of our now engaged friends.
My daughter had her wedding at Kings Court Castle in May 2016 and all I can say is it was pure perfection! The entire staff was tremendous! I would most definately refer anyone to have their event at this wonderful venue!
Love this venue! We booked with Gaby, their new wedding coordinator. She is so sweet and very professional, made us feel comfortable as soon as we walked through the door! She is knowledgeable as she has answered every crazy question we threw her way! Searching for venues was the hardest part for us, and Kings Court made it so easy. Everything you need is in one location!! Can’t wait for our big day!
This is a long read but WORTH READING. I would recommend NO ONE book with King's Court. We had a TERRIBLE experience with them on a professional as well as service level. Brittany was unfriendly and unwelcoming from the get go but ignoring better judgement I booked the venue anyway. We were on a short timeline as we got engaged 12/31/15 and wanted a fall wedding. We booked with King's Court in February and were so excited to have a ceremony and reception location! Emphasis on "were so excited". We went to our food tasting and the FOOD WAS AWFUL. Please ask me for photos, I have them. The filet looked like ground hamburger, the chicken was dry, poor quality and saturated in sauce. I am not a picky eater by any means but it was TERRIBLE. My fiances salad at the tasting had a dead fruit fly on it. We expressed our concerns to Brittany and she suggested an additional tasting, we agreed but also inquired (in a polite way) about a possibility of outside catering. I kid you not, this was the email I received after ASKING about the possibility of outside catering:
Hi Sarah,
I just had a response back from my General Manager, and it has been decided it would be in both parties best interest that we return your deposit and void the contract that you have with us.
From all of us here at King’s Court Castle we wish you and Ben the best of luck in your future!
Sincerely,
They cancelled on us, less than 6 months before our wedding. I, of course, asked to speak with Brittany after receiving this email and she was conveniently "busy" and I asked to speak with management SEVERAL times and never got a response back. I would NOT suggest King's Court to ANYONE unless the management, Brittany and the Food ARE GONE. It was a terrible, stressful experience and I am appalled at how UNPROFESSIONAL that entire establishment was. Please save yourself the stress and find a beautiful new venue with quality food your guests deserve and a wedding coordinator who is excited to help
We had an amazing experience at Kings Court Castle. Brittany responded to our questions quickly and helped everything go smoothly. The food was delicious and the event staff was very helpful. It is a beautiful location and our day was magical.
Thank you so much for all of your help with my sister-in-laws shower on
Saturday! We had a wonderful time. The food and service were great!
Everyone thought the Loft was such a unique space and it looked so cute!
Wonderful food, the staff is super friendly and helpful. Every question during our planning was answered quickly and the staff on site the day of the wedding were all on top of everything we may possibly need.
Brittany and her team are AMAZING! We had our wedding reception in the King Richard ballroom and it was beautiful. They truly helped make my dream come true. The food was delicious, and the staff was all willing to help make any little last minute changes that we had. I was beyond impressed with the venue and its staff.
The staff here is wonderful, helpful, and ready to lend a hand wherever I needed it! Brittany, the wedding coordinator was very accommodating through the whole process. The Banquet manager, Becky made sure our reception was perfect. This venue is also very affordable! I highly recommend this place for your wedding.
Our day was PERFECT!! Brittany and her team do an amazing job at making sure your day goes smooth! She was very helpful, well organized, and kept everything very easy. We had the rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception all in one place. It was very comforting having everything at one venue. Kings Court staff was wonderful to work with when planning food and making any changes to accommodate us. I am so happy we chose to use Kings Court Castle for our big day!
This venue is absolutely gorgeous!! I am from the Lake Orion area and have been invited to a few weddings here. I love that it is at Canterbury Village because the guests have so much to do and see! They can shop around the stores or hangout at the C-Pub. The food is always great and the staff is so accommodating for everyone! Definitely a great place to have your wedding!
Reading ask the positive reviews, and going the last night's banquet experience was just a fluke. Was at King's Court for a wedding yesterday, and was really dissapointed in the food! The pasta had a very bland marinara sauce that want more than a drizzle over the noodles. (No one at table finished it). The roast beef was simply rolled lunch meat with gravy poured over it. even the vegetables were entirely bland! Would never host at a place with such aweful food.
King’s Court Castle is an absolutely wonderful place to get married! The chapel is beautiful. We used King Richards Hall for the reception and it was the perfect setting! In between the ceremony and reception, Canterbury Village is a lovely place to explore and hang out! Almost every guest I spoke with raved about the convenience of having the ceremony and reception so close in such a fun place to spend the downtime (cider and donuts while waiting? Yes please!). It’s also a great place for photographs! We chose the affordable elegance buffet and it was delicious and well priced! They made plenty for everyone! Several guests had special dietary needs. We needed a child’s meal, a vegetarian meal, a vegan meal, and a few gluten free meals. The kitchen prepared the special meals (at no extra cost) and brought them to the tables. We had each person thank us, tell us their meal was delicious, and rave that they’ve never been to a wedding that was so considerate of their diet restrictions. King’s Court Castle made that extremely easy. We also had the late night taco bar and everyone loved it!!
There was a fairly big mistake (something didn’t get served) which is why I unfortunately can’t give 5 stars, but they owned up to it, apologized profusely, and refunded us that portion of the bill and a portion of the service charge. It was such an awesome wedding that even with a few mistakes (which no one else noticed), I recommend them!
I want to start by thanking Crystal, Brittany and Thomas for making our wedding day and night an amazing magical experience. Not only did we feel like we received the best customer service around, we were treated like family! We originally booked our wedding with Crystal (who was promoted to Indianwood) and without skipping a beat Brittany was there and extremely attentive with all of our wants and needs. Most would be nervous with a change in coordinators but it was actually another professional we could count on to make our day that much easier. The communication and ideas the staff provided was beyond exceptional! The chapel, landscape and all of the natural beauty in the castle make for such breathtaking photos we couldn't have asked for anything more. I got married in spring but any time of year this venue would make for such a romantic ambiance, one that every bride should experience on her wedding day! The food was great and the King Richard room was a wonderful place with access to the outside for a nice breath of fresh air after dancing the night away. Our guests got to enjoy the C-Pub while waiting for cocktail hour. After hearing nothing but everyone having such a great time, I can't recommend this place enough! A true five star all around!
We really loved the scene at Canterbury Village and we liked that our guests could hang out at the C-Pub in between our ceremony and cocktail hour. The venue and village offer entertainment and a beautiful backdrop for wedding pictures. The ceremony space, The Chapel, was a perfect mix of rustic and elegance. The reception space was easy to decorate because you don't need much in a beautiful ballroom. The only part of our experience that was less than a 5 star was that our event coordinator was switched in the middle of our planning and she had no experience and was at bit frustrating, maybe she was a little overwhelmed. Our food tasting could have been more organized, but the food was very good! At the end of the day, Canterbury staff and managers came through with flying colors and made our night amazing.
This venue was absolute perfection for our wedding! The chapel was beautiful. The atmosphere and the staff were both so welcoming and friendly. Our reception hall was the King Richard room, and having the porch off of the room was perfect for our guests. The wedding coordinator Brittany was so helping in accommodating us with any and all requests from special meals to special drinks for our guests! Absolute perfection! Highly Recommended. 👍🏼
When my now mother in law and I went looking for halls she knew I wanted a hall that wasn't the "traditional" wedding hall. I didn't want a long area where the wedding party sat up high in front of everyone. As soon as we walked into Kings Court Castle I knew I wanted my wedding there. I was just hoping that the hall was what I was looking for. The entrance is amazing then the King Richard room was also amazing! The night of the wedding my husband and I received hands on service and were waited on by the staff so attentively. They allowed me to hand hands on actions with the lighting of the room and adjust the brightness to how I wanted it. I was nervous about the food but after dinner I was surprised to say the least because I am a very picky eater and I also have a gluten allergy. They catered to the few guests and myself with this allergy and made us a portables and grilled veggie meal that was very tasty. The other guests and my husband also made very positive comments about the dinner food. We also ordered late night pizza and I was astonished at how good the gluten free pizza was. I heard the regular pizza was also very good. Overall, were there a few hiccups... Yes... were they life altering and ruined my wedding.... NO!!!! I would recommend this venue to anyone and the quality of service was nice as well!!!!
Thank you for helping us have an amazing rehearsal dinner! The food, the service, the ease of working with your management, Angela, made our evening a perfect one. The decor and set up was perfect and we all had a relaxing dinner before the hectic wedding day.
Always helpful and after some minor concerns (broken glass, sticky floor, etc) all items were quickly addressed and corrected. Cannot beat the venue, and Angela was always patient, smiling, and so helpful.
KCC was a wonderful venue for our wedding. Everyone was so accommodating!!! Everything we asked for we got and they even offered things we never thought to ask for. The food was very good. The venue and chapel have a beautiful antique feel that didn’t leave much need for extra decorating. All of our guests enjoyed the village while waiting for the reception doors to open. The carousel was such a fun photo session! The staff was great even assisted with a drunk guest at the end of the night and handled it all so well. There were a few problems the day of but most everything was responded to quickly…I brought in my own gluten free dessert for some of my guests and it must have been dropped and they brought in a replacement for them immediately. And one of my tables didn’t have enough chairs again they fixed it quickly. My only complaint was the delay in getting out the cake (we had to ask twice) and the very dark parking lot at the end of the night. Everything else was so perfect my complaints were barely complaints. All in all it was a great venue, great staff and great ambiance! I would definitely recommend this venue!!
The venue was so beautiful for us, the food was excellent and amazing (even better than our tasting, actually) and the staff was awesome and actually enjoyed the event with us. The banquet manager was amazing and dealing with him was like a dream. Excellent venue and highly recommended.
From the first time I met the staff and saw this venue I knew this is the place I wanted to get married at. They made our dreams of a Renaissance Wedding come true!! The food was amazing, I got so many compliments on how wonderful everything tasted! The manager on staff Dave was so wonderful, even though he had a lot going on that night he handled everything with ease and made our day truly special. Crystal and Angela were awesome to work with and answered all questions or concerns I had right away, they helped coordinate everything from us walking down the aisle to making sure our entertainment was able to perform and amazing show for us. I highly recommend this venue, they are worth every penny and more!! Thank you so much!!
We were able to have our reception here, and I wouldn't change that for the world. The food was amazing (much better than when we did our tasting of it), the service was excellent. I love the atmosphere of the building itself- it just added to the fun of the night. We had no problems with anyone that worked there- in fact, David (one of the managers) continued to check on us throughout the night. There were 2 other receptions at the same time, but you never noticed them happening.
