Jeanie was very sweet and helpful leading up to the big day. She promptly responded to every one of my emails. The cake that was made was absolutely PERFECT and I could not have asked for anything better.

We absolutely loved our cake! The design was exactly what we asked for and it tasted incredible. We heard so many compliments from our guests about how delicious our cake was (we did a yellow cake with vanilla buttercream and strawberry bavarian cream). We worked with Katie and Jeanie and they did an excellent job and were so friendly. Highly recommend!

Our reception package included cake from this bakery and they did not disappoint! The cake was decorated just like we wanted and tasted great. We also received lots of compliments on the cupcakes.

Central Continental did a great job with our cake. They were included in our banquet hall's package, but I would have chosen them regardless. I'm glad we had the opportunity to work with them. The process was quick and easy, and the cake was a crowd-pleaser!

Our picture perfect customized wedding cake tasted just as amazing as it looked! We chose alternating tiers of yellow and chocolate cake with raspberry filling. Topped off with customized pink and white ombre buttercream frosting. The staff was accommodating to all our needs and answered any and all questions at our tasting. One of the best parts of the wedding planning process was cake tasting! After trying 4 other bakeries, we tried Central Continental. Within the very first bite, we were sold. They had great ideas on how to cut costs including making a small show cake for the wedding and making sheet cakes for the kitchen to cut up for our guests. The price was great and the sales woman that helped us was fantastic too. The cake was to die for!!! We chose 2 different flavors- half yellow/half chocolate with raspberry and banana cake with fudge (by far our favorite!!!!). Our guests continue to rave about the delicious cakes! Central Continental is now our favorite bakery by far! We could never get a cake from another bakery ever!

I was blown away by our wonderful cake by Central Continental. Not only was it exactly as I imagined, but it tasted fantastic. I can’t wait to have them recreate a smaller version for our first anniversary.

We chose Central Continental to make our wedding cake and mini pies for our wedding reception. Our cake was exactly the way we wanted it to look based on pictures we sent to the bakery. The mini pies were delicious, and we received so many compliments. They also delivered everything to our wedding in the Rockford area. We are so thankful for Central Continental Bakery and their amazing work for our wedding!

We used Central Continental Bakery because our wedding hall works with them. We asked for a specific design that cost us extra and although the cake looked really cool and tasted good. They made a pretty big mistake. We had asked them to make the flags of the countries we are from, and they made a mistake with one of the flags by using one from a different Country. I told them about their mistake afterward, because it was something that was a big deal and they never even responded. No apologies no anything! Just not good customer service on their part. I wouldnt recommend this bakery for that reason.

Central Continental made the wedding process easy and helped to create the perfect cake. The cake tasted wonderful and they had lots of options to choose from!

The cake. Ours was included with our reception venue package and they picked a winner. Their cake is amazing. Highly recommend the raspberry Bavarian cream! They were very responsive to our ideas and the cake was stunning. I was able to work with them as well to include a surprise grooms cake! You will not regret this choice!

Our cake turned out so beautiful! We had an ombré three tier with script and it turned out better than I could have imagined. Tasted amazing and had plenty left over for everyone to take som me home. Couldn't have asked for a better cake and bakery!

We were connected with Central Continental through the Concorde Banquets and had a great experience from the beginning. We worked with Ashley and had an amazing cake tasting - ended up with white cake/raspberry filling! The cake was amazing. Ashley drew a photo of what we wanted and i dropped off the topper and some ribbon for the cake and it was perfect! Everyone commented on how delicious and beautiful it was - the photos of our wedding cake are fantastic. We cannot say enough great things about Central Continental! Thank you!

Our contract with Bloomingdale Golf Club provided us this bakery to get our wedding cake from. I was nervous at first because the cake was probably one of the things I was most excited about! From the start, Katie was great! We set up our tasting and the cakes were so amazing!! She was so nice and was so helpful! The fresh strawberry filling-YUM!!! I provided a picture to Katie of how I wanted our cake to look and it was spot on! So many people commented on how great the cake looked and tasted!! I was sad I only had the one bite of the cake all night but we plan on getting a small one for our anniversary! We also got French macaroons for our candy table and many guests commented on how amazing they were! I had one and it was perfect! So happy with the service they provided and the quality of their products! We will definitely use this bakery in the future!!

Our wedding cake came from Central Continental and we could not have been happier with it! Their cakes themselves are absolutely delicious and their butter cream is amazing! Their bakery is the best of old world European baking and care! Our design consultation and tasting went wonderfully! We got to try a variety of their cakes and fillings! They have traditional flavors and some more non-traditional (their banana cake was quite tasty). Our wedding was in September and our initial consultation was in early March. Their designers seemed really on-top of their game. They were going to create a cake for us with frosting cherry blossoms. We initially did not want to use fondant. However, cut to the end of August. I was checking in to see where our cake topper needed to go and was told by a new designer they could not do the cherry blossoms in frosting. I was a bit upset, but we had enough wiggle room in our budget to upgrade to the fondant. I would have appreciated knowing sooner about the need to change the design. It turns out they had changed designers in the time between our consultation and wedding. Just a reminder to always check-in with your vendors! Besides that hiccup, I was pleased as can be with Central Continental! The cake was absolutely beautiful and tasted amazing! Really, the one negative I had was nothing compared to the positives! Highly recommend them!

This was one of two bakery options my venue offered. Hands down amazing! We showed them a picture and they were able to duplicate it. They let us alternate flavors in the tiers of our cake. All of it was delicious. The only downside is that they are so popular, it was hard to get a Saturday appointment to do our initial cake tasting. We had to schedule 1 month in advance. Totally worth the wait though!

Best bakery. Hands down. I grew up in Mt. Prospect, and as a child, I remember going to CCB on weekend mornings with my mom to order cookies, coffee cakes, birthday cakes, marzipan, etc. It was such a fun experience and really stuck with me. In fact, for the last 29 years, I have had a CCB cake on every birthday. Naturally, when I got engaged one of my first thoughts was, "our wedding cake has to be from CCB!" I no longer live in Mt. Prospect, but my husband and I drove out to meet with Katie to do a tasting and order our wedding cake. She was professional, organized, and let us sample quite a bit before we made our final decision (red velvet cake- delicious). The cake was delivered to our venue in the Chicago neighborhood of Bridgeport. They were on time, the cake looked stunning, and it tasted devine. While I won't be back for another wedding cake of course, I will certainly return for more birthday cakes, cookies, and other treats. Thank you, CCB!

I want to start off by saying Central Continental Bakery is the place to get your wedding cake from! Out of ALL of our vendors not only was Central Continental the ONLY vendor that I can honestly say I would 100% recommend, they were the only ones who made my vision come true! Before meeting for our consultation I ordered a real flower cake topper thinking the cake would need something extra. Once we got to our consultation and looked through there "Look Books" I was amazed! I had about ten cakes I was in love with, absolutely beautiful! We only met once with the bakery and I had specific requests as to how I wanted the cake to look, and they completely nailed it! It was so stress free working with Central Continental, they were very attentive, professional, and talented! When I saw the cake the day of the wedding I was thrilled. We received so many compliments as to how beautiful the cake was and how delicious it was as well! I myself am not a huge cake lover and I can honestly say all five flavors we choose were absolutely delicious; delicious to the point were we couldn't help ourselves but to share our top tier with our family the following morning, following the wedding! It was just too tempting having it in the freezer for a day, let alone a year!! We decided that we would just order a small replica for our One Year Anniversary! As being the first to get married in my family, my husband being the first in his, and one of the first out of my friends, I will (and have already), insisted everyone order their cake from Central Continental Bakery! My Husband and I decided the second we left the bakery, after our first consultation, that this is the bakery we will be getting all of our cakes from; for our important events/parties including our future children's birthday, baptisms, graduations etc. I also feel that I should add we do not live close to the bakery either, but it is definitely worth the drive! I already told my husband I'm hoping for a birthday cake for my birthday in October! :)

I've grown up eating CCB every Saturday for brunch since before I can remember (in fact, it was one condition that my grandpa said to my dad when he asked to marry her - make sure she always has an amazing Saturday brunch!). I already knew I loved their donuts and their breads - but the cake was the centerpiece of the event!! Katie was amazing. We had such a fun cake tasting appointment and they had tons of cakes to choose from. The cake we chose had fondant in the picture, which is something we didn't want - so they iced it just the same. At my appointment, I said "I just want the whole thing to sparkle" and the lady, without missing a beat, said "We can add shimmer to the frosting so it's all pearlescent!" They totally understood my ideas!! I was so happy with it!

We were blown away by our wedding cake. We of course had high expectations because we had heard so many great things about central continental but the cake was even better than we could've imagined. We received so many compliments on how delicious it was, too! Highly recommend!

My venue includes a cake in their wedding package from Central Continental. While I did not personally choose the bakery for my wedding cake I was pleased with the tasting and consultation as well as the final product. Katie was very responsive and helpful in the consultation process. I was very pleased with everything.

We loved our cake. Tasty and classically gorgeous. We ordered the white cake with canoli filling. They replicated our inspiration cake photo perfectly.

Our wedding cake was included in our reception package and we had to use this bakery. We went into the shop in advance to do a cake tasting and discuss what we wanted the cake to look like. We were able to get exactly what we wanted and the cake turned out beautifully and tasted great! The number of options they were willing to work with was great. I also really appreciated that they put the silk flowers I bought around the cake for me and arranged them exactly how I pictured. I would recommend this bakery for wedding cakes.

Ever since I was a little girl, I would walk downtown MP always asking to stop and take a look at the cakes in CCB’s window. I always told myself that CCB would be the one to make my wedding cake. I had my reception at Medinah Banquets in Addison, IL and the cake was included in the package. Although I was still considering purchasing one from CCB, we decided it wouldn’t be in the budget since it is already included. We then asked our reception hall what color cake, designs, flavors, etc are available and they said to ask CCB where they get their cakes! How amazing was that!? It was meant to be! My reception hall purchased their cakes from CCB – my dream come true! CCB was very professional and quick to reply to emails coordinating a cake testing. They were very nice and patient as we worked through the details. They went above and beyond the customer service that was expected of them. They made dropping off ribbon, having florist add flowers, and reception hall add cake topper so easy! They are very well organized and I couldn’t have asked for a better bakery to work with! The cake was AMAZING! I cannot wait to enjoy the top tier of cake in about a year! The bakery is very talented! The cake looked GORGEOUS and the buttercream frosting was designed PERFECTLY. The taste was beyond anything you could imagine! I had SO many compliments on the cake. Both design and taste blew my guests away. If you are looking for a place to get your cake, please look no further because CCB is just the absolute best. The quality is unbelievable and the service is friendly, professional, and personal. They are very talented. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose them regardless if they were included in my package or not. It was wonderful that they were, but I would pick them right away every time. I can’t wait to ask them to make anniversary cakes down the road. We were told by numerous guests that the cake was absolutely delicious. Although neither of us were able to try it because we were constantly on the move!

My husband and I tasted a few different cakes and immediately knew what we wanted to go with. The bakery helped us pick out our design and we were out the door in twenty minutes! Our cake was the best wedding cake I've ever had! The cake was included as part of our package with the venue we chose, so I was very pleasantly surprised!

Our cake was beautiful and so yummy. I provided ribbon and fake flowers to decorate and they did it exactly how I envisioned it.

Our cake was part of our package from Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club. We heard on the news that a fire had nearly burned down their building so we were really nervous about how they would be able to fill all of the orders coming up for Easter and wedding season. Even though this massive fire required them to move locations, you would never know anything this horrible happened! They had staff contacting us to reschedule our tasting and even got personal calls to our cell phones from their staff's cell phones after they were still organizing all of the chaos that comes with moving locations. We chose a four-tier cake that included a blue ribbon and two simple broaches. We met with the bakery to go over all of our choices and again to have the tasting and drop off our cake accessories. The day of our cake arrived on time and exactly as requested. We think they may have upgraded our frosting just to make it exactly how we wanted it! The cake tasted great, looked great, and they were extremely accommodating and helpful! Thanks again! We also have a FREE one-year anniversary cake that came with our package so we don't have to let a cake sit in our freezer for a year! A+++++++. Will do business with again.

Our wedding cake came from Central Continental Bakery as part of our reception package. Even though the cake was included through the reception venue, we were still given a tasting and allowed to chose the flavors and design of the cake which I was not expecting. The flavors of cakes and fillings we tried at our tasting were all delicious and it made our decision really hard. The day of the wedding our cake was even more delicious than I remembered from our tasting and my groom and I had pieces wrapped and took home with us. One more benefit to this bakery is they sell small (6") sample wedding cakes that you can take home. Just in case our frozen cake isn't good on our first anniversary or if we want to relive our wedding cake on any anniversary, we can always purchase a sample cake!

Our cake turned out great! We had white cake with vanilla frosting and raspberry filling. I didn't get to meet with the baker, which was a huge drawback and risk, but everything turned out fine. I cannot speak to price, since it was included in our venue (Chandler's), but it was delicious!

I LOVE Central Continental Bakery and we've used the in my family as our bakery of choice for years! I was so happy that they were one of the preferred cake vendors for our reception hall, Concorde Banquets. The whole experience working with Central Continental was fabulous. My mom and I went in for a cake testing and had the best time. The cake of course was delicious (as expected) and the head baker came out to talk to us about the decoration for the cake. Everything we wanted was included (butter cream icing, raspberry Bavarian filling) and she even piped on a complicated swirl design to match our stationary. When it came to the day of our wedding, our cake looked beautiful and tasted even better. I'm sad I was so busy that I could only eat half of my slice, but all of my guests complimented me on the cake choice and said it was they best they've ever had at a wedding. Very moist and flavorful. I highly, highly, highly recommend Central Continental Bakery for your wedding cake or any other family/party needs. They are just the best!

The cake looked and tasted amazing!! They already worked with my venue so coordinating delivery was very simple. I'm not a big sweets person and the cake was so moist and flavorful that I had to make sure I had a piece at my wedding. Highly recommend! And they have a wonderful bakery in the store and we couldn't leave the tasting with out buying something for dessert.

You don't get a whole lot for your money here. but that might be the same at all these bakeries. we had to use Central Continental because our reception hall uses them, but if we didn't have to we definitely would have done our own research. Basically the only thing included in our package was a plain white cake. Any decor we wanted to add was going to be at least another couple thousand dollars. We also had to pay for cake samples, where at other places i know that those are included. In the end i think everyone was happy with the taste of the cake (my husband and i did not get a chance to eat it on the wedding night).

A cake from Central Continental Bakery was included in the cost of my reception. My parents, my sister, my husband and myself all went to taste cakes and they were more than happy to have all of us. Their cakes are moist, sweet and delicious. They have many flavors to choose from. I know they were delicious when we tasted them, but with all of the craziness of the day, I don't remember what it tasted like on the day of our wedding! I do know that our cake was absolutely beautiful. It included pristine scroll work and ribbons. It was simple but elegant.

Our cake was awesome. I am a cake decorator and I am usually very critical but this cake was soooooooo good. Try the non dairy whipped topping you won't be sorry! The price of the cake was included in our wedding package at Chandler's so I am not sure of the cost.

Central Continental Bakery was the bakery we could use with the venue we had chosen. We were not disappointed. Not only did they make a beautiful cake, but it was delicious too! They also didn't even charge us extra for the upgraded filling that we wanted. I would highly recommend them!

Central Continental bakery is the best, hands down. We sampled their cakes a couple months before the wedding and they were to DIE for. We had a hard time deciding on which flavor to pick because they were all so good! When we got to our wedding, the cake was absolutely beautiful. They did exactly what we asked! It was so great and everyone at our wedding was raving about how good it tasted!!

WOW was the only word I could find when I first saw my cake. We had a very large wedding and wanted something traditional with a modern flare. They effectively combined the styles beautifully. And it was SO delicious. I'm very sad I have to wait a year to eat the top of it. Use central continental and don't look back! You will not regret it!!

We were very pleased with our wedding cake from Central Continental bakery. We were able to sample some flavors in advance, which helped us narrow down our selection. The cake was decorated exactly the way it looked in the picture. We would definitely use this bakery again in the future for other occasions.

My family uses this bakery for every birthday and function. We love this bakery, so I knew I had to have it for my wedding. When looking at venues I would ask what bakery they used and luckily the venue I picked used them. Their wedding coordinator was a little hard to reach and we weren't sure how to do the tasting, make and appointment or just take the samples home, but either way they are amazing. They worked with us to create our own custom cakes. They have traditional and modern designs! Our wedding was in December, so we decided to go with a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and it was soooo good! We love carrot cake and this was probably the best one I've ever had! Several guest told us that our cake was the best wedding cake they have ever had and that they almost never eat the wedding cake at weddings. I was very pleased. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this bakery for all your bakery needs. They also created a dessert table for us and it was delicious!

I grew up in Mount Prospect and knew I had to have my cake from Central Continental Bakery. Because of cost, we ended up with a small cake for cutting and a small cake to freeze for our first anniversary because I enjoy that tradition. My fiance had never had the pleasure of tasting a cake from Central Continental until our wedding day (he wasn't able to be around for the cake tasting due to work) and he was definitely impressed! We had vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream frosting and it was pure perfection. The light and fluffy cake was a perfect balance with the creamy, sugary frosting. We will definitely be ordering more cakes in the future!
