YES YES YES! I would highly recommend the Marriott for any special occasion! We recently had our wedding there and everything was fabulous and went smoothly! The staff was so friendly and accommodating. They were so easy to work with and if I ever needed anything they were always right there. I cannot speak highly enough of the Charleston Marriott and what they have done for us and our guests. Thank you!
The Marriott was very difficult to communicate with. They seem to have heavy staff turnover as we were introduced to about 4 different event planners who would be "ours", and each time we contacted them we were told they quit. The hotel was nice enough to acknowledge our frustration and refunded our deposit. I would only consider using them if you are willing to go in person or call several times any time you need something.
I cannot say enough good things about our room block at the Marriot and our event manager Brian McClennan. Our room block rate was $99 and included internet, breakfast (which is amazing), and parking. Brian made every single change I asked for from adding people to the room block to adding rollaway beds. All of the employees at the hotel provided top notch service and I had many guests comment about how great the hotel and the service at the hotel was.
The hall was beautiful, the service was excellent. Wedding planner was very polite and understanding but not very experienced. We were expecting up to 250 guests and so we felt it was a little overpriced for the actual support we got from the wedding planner. That said, the staff were extremely friendly!
The Marriott was fabulous! They did everything we asked of them! Any question or concern or need we had, our event manager was there to get it for us. They let us do everything we wanted from having our dog in the ceremony to having bud light in our toasting glasses! We definitely made the right choice when we picked this place for our ceremony and reception!
Highly recomend! Our coordinator did not tell me until I arrived at the reception that they put everything together in an hour and a half before the guests started to arrive but it was perfect. Everything was where I asked for it to be. We had some guests that had food allergies and they went above and beyond to get them what they needed. Answered all of my questions and helped with anything I needed.

My experience with the Marriott was wonderful. If you are willing to put up the money they do it all plus you get to stay at the hotel! They were very professional and all of my guest loved the food. They even offer vegetarian and gluten free options.
I loved the Marriott Pavilion, where my reception took place. The Marriott planners and staff went above and beyond to decorate the room to my liking. I was even given chair covers at no charge because the facility ended up buying new chairs after I booked (different from the ones that I thought would be there). The entire staff was courteous and helpful. I would definitely recommend the Marriott for a reception or other event. The only negative aspect was the price. The food was delicious, but I still felt that the entire event was somewhat overpriced.
I had my wedding reception in the Pavillion at the Charleston Town Center Marriott, and it turned out fantastic! It was sooo helpful to have an event planner through the venue to help with anything I needed! The food and service were great that evening, which made for a great time!
Awesome awesome awesome! Yes, quite expensive, but so worth it! I didn't have to worry about decorating, which was a huge plus, they took care of it beautifully ;)
