About this vendor
Located in Pray, MT, Chico Hot Springs is a hotel that hosts wedding ceremonies and receptions. Nestled on 800 acres of rolling Montana land with a backdrop of mountains, this historic property blends country charm with modern amenities. Boasting two open-air hot spring pools and gorgeous accommodation options, couples who choose this venue will exchange vows in a truly exceptional location.
The hotel dates back to 1900 when it originally opened as The Chico Warm Springs Hotel. It became extremely popular with guests who came to the area to seek their fortunes in the nearby goldmines. In 1914, after Dr. George A.Townsend came to work on-site to preach the benefits of natural hot springs, a hospital wing was added to the property. Over the following years, the raucous dance hall parties and on-site hunting groups dwindled as the hotel transitioned into a health spa. The site was sold after the death of its founders and was briefly abandoned before being rescued in 1973. With passionate new owners and an innovative head chef, the hotel was revitalized and became the thriving business as it stands today. The hot springs remain an intrinsic feature of the property, and are used as an eco-friendly way to heat the buildings on site. The venue maintains much of its original features, spread out across the events spaces on the grounds. Couples who are hosting an intimate celebration may choose to celebrate in the Wine Cellar, which also boasts a private outdoor deck. For those who enjoy an alfresco experience, an open-air Garden Pavillion is available, set beside the natural hot springs creek. Offering glorious garden views, this space can accommodate up to 40 guests. For larger affairs, couples could choose the Convention Center, which boasts exquisite details such as a river-rock fireplace, and a front porch for the cocktail hour.
The Chico Hot Springs caters to all ceremony types, providing a luscious outdoor location with a glorious mountain skyline. An experienced Event Coordinator will be on-hand to assist couples with logistics such as the event timeline and menu selection. The dedicated team at this resort understands that the day is about realizing the vision of the newlyweds-to-be, and welcomes outside vendors and planners. Cuisine and beverages will be provided by the on-site culinary team, who work with fresh, locally-sourced produce, including ingredients from their own gardens. Paired with a selection of vintages from the wine cellar, couples and guests alike are sure to be delighted with this fabulous fare.

Chico was an absolute DREAM of a wedding venue. Tonya was a life saver throughout the last year of planning and we couldn't have done it without her. She was completely organized & on top of every single detail. She made sure the entire week, and day of went as fun, easy, and seamless as possible for us. (even with the flooding going on in the area😂)
Not only that, but the entire staff at Chico went out of their way to make sure my husband and I were spoiled & taken care of our entire stay.
We couldn't have asked for a more special, intimate, memorable wedding. I highly recommend this venue & can't thank them enough. ❤
If you are looking for a venue that will help you with everything, Chico is your place. It is beautiful. The staff is the BEST. From the sales coordinator, day of coordinator, bakers, serving staff, bartenders. They were all amazing. I can't imagine having our wedding anywhere else. They went above and beyond for us. They answered any request.
Chico was the perfect wedding venue! We got married this time, last year, 03/2020, and could not have asked for a more perfect venue. Tonya and all of the event staff were amazing! We no longer live in Montana so planning a wedding remotely was intimidating but Chico made the process easier than we could even imagine. When we arrived, all of the staff had itineraries ironed out and we just had to show up. Due to winter weather, we used the large event room for our rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception and the staff turned the place around quickly and completely so it felt like a different venue every time. Guests raved that the food was excellent, even for those with dietary restrictions such as vegans and gluten free. If only we could go back and do it again... :)
I am so glad that I chose Chico for our wedding! My husband and I had visited in the winter for Valentine's and such so we knew Chico was special, but they went above and beyond for our wedding. Merin was a great sales associate to work with, she helped me with the wedding planning for over a year. The food was delicious and the cake was great. The whole process is made very easy for the bride and groom. Thanks, Chico!
This beautiful tucked into the mountainside venue was accommodating and the staff was WONDERFUL. From the original tour of the venue to after the actual wedding my expectations were exceeded. The staff was amazing, attentive, and was one step ahead of us every step of the way anticipating all our needs. The space is beautiful! The food was delicious, especially the cake (people are still talking about the cake)! The guests loved the venue, accomodations and the overall customer service offered them at every turn as well. I cannot recommend this place enough! The price is also great for everything included. I did not have to worry about a thing all night except having fun with our guests.
We had a wonderful time, but it would have been nice to recieve any discounts since we booked nearly the entire venue with paying guest, plus a weekend's worth of meals for nearly 200 people, plus spa services, horse back rides, rafting trips and liquor.
The staff at Chico was incredible and everything went smoothly and without a hitch. I highly recommend this venue, they provided a great reception location with tables, chairs, linens and setup. The catering options were great and we used their Baker for our cake as well, and that was also great. I have nothing bad to say about Chico, highly recommend this venue for a place that had it all!!
Chico Hot Springs was a fantastic place to have our wedding. Their event coordinator was great and the rest of the staff were always a step ahead of us! The food was delicious, both the barbeque burgers and hot dogs for the rehearsal as well as the baron of beef and sides for the reception. The "Field of Dreams" gave great views of the Emmigrant mountains. The staff put parisols at the wedding site along with water in case guests were hot. They gave guests a ride to the site in a 6-seat golf cart and they picked up the bridal party in a suburban. During the reception, staff even noticed a person that was not our guest and nicely asked them to leave. Chico Hot Springs is highly recommended!
The staff is fully supportive and helpful the entire time. The field of dreams is an epic wedding site. Chicos had everything taken care of from water at the wedding, decorations, shuttle for bridal party, and incredible food.
Chico is such a unique fun spot! Great experience for out of town quests. They have all you need plus extra activities. I love Chico!
I love Chico, it is one of the most romantic places in the United States. The food is faboulous and of course the hot springs are so relaxing. There is something for everyone.
Having our wedding at Chico made everything easy- the ceremony, reception, food, alcohol, accomodations were all in one and we didn't have to worry about coordinating different vendors. It was perfect!
They covered all the details, set up all our decorations and had everything covered. All I had to do was show up. Nothing to worry about and the food was terrific. We had them cover the meal and the cakes. They provided all the linens so there was nothing we had to rent either.
Chico hot springs was the absolutely wonderful for all aspects of my wedding. The lodging for our guests, the site for the ceremony, the food, and the service were all above and beyond what I could ever have imagined. I highly, highly reccommend Chico!
