Jacky is the best. Everything went perfectly, she walked us through everything we needed from the time we got engaged till the time we left the reception. She was so gracious and helpful at our reception and the food and hospitality from the Marriott staff here was to die for!! I wish I could give more than 5 stars.
Don’t try to book a wedding here and expect anyone to think the day is as important as you think it is! Our request was handled completely unprofessionally by their catering manager Angela, who is “on call” which apparently excuses her from answering emails for 4+ days after you’ve told her that booking your event is time sensitive and the explanation you’re given from the director of sales Vicky is that Angela is on call and it’s hard for her to juggle work and personal plans/life, I’m assuming this means because she doesn’t have an actual schedule right now? So what? Answer your email at least. Then when she finally has the time in her super busy schedule to call you back she gets annoyed that you’ve kept her on the phone for an hour going over all details of your event. Then sends you a contract that does not outline what you’ve discussed and has the incorrect date for your event so when you ask for a more detailed one you get even more attitude. At this point you’re beyond mad and it’s been 4-5 days since you met in person and you need to lock this in (again, time sensitive). So you send an email again that night, this time you try to add the GM on it because he should be aware and maybe can help get things moving in the right direction. But no, you’re met with crickets again the next day and unanswered phone calls. Until finally the director of sales sends you an extremely unprofessional email full of inaccurate information and lies, let’s you know that they will not be working with you and your “hold” on your event has been released! So if you plan to have a wedding here just don’t ask too many questions or for them to give you a contract with specifics or you may be told they won’t hold your event anymore. I’ve worked in hospitality for many years and I have never seen anything be handled this way. And this is especially not the service I would expect from the Marriott. Basically the employees at this hotel (Vicky & Angela) could care less about your or your special day, especially if it interferes with their personal plans. And the General Manager, Mike Hogan, is no better considering he couldn’t even be bothered to be professional enough to return a phone call and he also allows his employees to slack off and treat potential customers this way. This was going to be a rehearsal dinner, wedding, reception, and guest rooms. It’s not like it was just some little reception. We planned to spend quite a bit of money on this event and they just threw it away. Unbelievable. Brides and grooms beware!
When I got engaged in November of 2015 I had really wanted a downtown wedding, but soon realized how expensive it would be with as many guests as we have to be able to have our reception downtown. Shortly after I researched venues I came across the Marriott Northeast and we were instantly in love. First, they offer a "station" style dinner which is exactly what we wanted to do and it's a hotel so our guests could stumble to their room (literally). We first had a wedding coordinator that got things started, but unfortunately she left mid planning. Next, we were introduced to Jessica and Jacky and we were blown away by their professionalism and knowledge of the wedding industry. I literally had a bajillion questions and they were there, no issues, able to answer all questions. Their service was above and beyond what we expected. The venue sat our 165 guests comfortably and had plenty of room for our Photo Booth and the food stations (literally everyone has talked about the food) since the wedding. It was top notch. I would highly recommend this venue for any upcoming event!
I read in a budget bride book to check into hotels for venues since they often package their pricing. They were right. I had checked out many venues but there was always 1 or 2 things that I was not willing to settle for. Them I met Jessica Lewis at the Marriot. We hit it off right away, she was amazing! I knew she would do a great job. She was very attentative, and actually listened to me, unlike some other venues. She treated us like we were family, and only the best would be good enough. Her staff is very helpful as well. The food was amazing, the ballroom looked gorgeous and the price was right where we wanted it. Everything was perfect, we had our ceremony, coctail hour, and recpetion there. She even put together my welcome bags for out of town guests, since I was running out of time very quickly. She went above and beyond to help, she contacted my vendors so I didn't have to worry about what time they needed to be there. She is amazing, I could not have imagined my day without her. I really miss our meetings, it just felt like meeting a friend for lunch most of the time. Would recommend this venue and Jessica to any bride!
I had originally gone to the Marriott Northeast for a bridal show and was looking specifically for a venue for my reception. Problem was, most of the venues there were already booked. ( I got engaged Feb/Mar of this year, and was getting married in July)Then my mother said why not take the business card from the sales representative for the Marriott and see if they were available. After calling several places, with no luck, I called up Chris Stone at the Marriott. He was extremely nice and said that they didn't have anything booked for my wedding date!! We were super lucky!! After that Chris was beyond helpful and did everything in his power to make our reception perfect!I highly recommend the Marriott Northeast for a wedding reception. If you do, make sure you ask for Chris Stone! :)
