Our guests raved about how beautiful our venue was! Chelsey was an awesome help throughout our entire planning process. She was very knowledgeable and easily pivoted for all of my special requests with our menu.
Our guests LOVED the tiki barge for cocktail hour, as well as all the yummy appetizers. Everyone kept talking about how unique and cool the entire venue was. Hotel itself was way too small to accommodate our large bridal party and guest count, so we did not book a room block at CityFlats. We went with the Doubletree by Hilton which is about 2 miles up the road. However, the select few guests who did stay at CityFlats had a good experience. Rooms were very modern and clean, no complaints. Dinner service was a little slow but it’s anticipated with a larger wedding and plated meals.
Beautiful venue, definitely recommend them for their space, staff, and package overall. I’d pick them again any day! We had an incredible night, everything was beautiful and perfect! Thank you CityFlats and Chelsey for all you did for us!!!!

A Dream Wedding Experience at CityFlats
From the moment we began planning our wedding, we knew we wanted a venue that would support us and make us feel welcome. CityFlats in Port Huron exceeded every expectation we had—and then some! Working closely with Chelsey and Zach was an absolute pleasure. They were always available to answer my endless stream of questions and kept us updated every step of the way.
One of the things we loved most about CityFlats was the inclusive and welcoming environment they provided for our LGBTQIA+ wedding. It was important for us to feel safe and celebrated, and the team at CityFlats truly delivered in that respect.
The venue itself is breathtaking. We were absolutely blown away by the beauty of the space—honestly, we barely needed to decorate because the venue already had so much charm. The bridal suite was perfect for getting ready, and the reception space was everything we imagined—elegant, spacious, and full of character.
What really stood out to us, however, was the level of customization and attention to detail. From the smallest details to the big picture, Chelsey and Zach made sure that everything we envisioned came to life. We were able to customize every aspect of our day, and their support throughout the entire planning process was invaluable.
The entire team at CityFlats went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day was exactly what we wanted. They were always ready and willing to assist, no matter how many questions I asked or updates I requested. Their dedication to making our day perfect was clear, and it made the experience stress-free and incredibly enjoyable.
We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful, supportive, and memorable wedding at CityFlats. If you’re looking for a venue that’s as stunning as it is welcoming, look no further—CityFlats is the place for you!

While our wedding was great due to the company we invited there was a few issues with the venue that can be looked past but should be mentioned. First, the wedding signage that was supposed be put out was not so no one knew where the cocktail hour was on the CityFloats barge—making our timeline off. Second, our last name was spelled wrong on one of the signs. Overbooking rooms that had been booked over a year in advance. No parking lot lines, and no handicap parking. Grossly understaffed—no wedding coordinator like stated in contract. The attention to detail severely lacks on the day of compared to during the planning process. The staff did not help with the ballroom set up on Friday as we had a Saturday wedding. THE FOOD IS SUBPAR AT BEST. Steaks were hockey pucks. If you book here I would highly recommend doing a buffet, I wish I would have. It is a beautiful venue just poorly staffed, and should allow the individual to bring in their own catering. I highly recommend the CityFloats for cocktail hour—despite all the issues we had with the venue itself that made the night 10x better.

Old world charm, a 125 year old bank turned into a ballroom with all the charm of marble floors, high ceilings with windows overlooking the Black River. Then to continue the original back vault along with the safety deposit boxes.
The staff is great to work with, very helpful with planning the perfect wedding. The serving staff is very professional and the food is excellent. Thank you to Chelsey for all you did to make our day perfect!

We had a longer engagement, so we saw a full switch of staff. Chelsey and Tori did a great job making sure everything was set and being prepared. Tori made our day stress free and was there for us for anything. They were very accommodating and answered all our questions. They were great to work with and made sure we felt special on our big day!

The venue for the wedding wasn't too bad, but the hotel was completely awful and staff was very unprofessional in the hotel

The venue is beautiful! I cannot say enough great things at how stunning the ballroom is. The vault was a huge hit with all our guests! Amber, Sydney, and Tori were super easy to work with and did their best to make sure our day went as well as it could. We are happy with the all the work they did for us! I will say the one thing that was disappointing was the Entrees. It was about as good as diner quality. Given the price per plate, I would have expected a bit better. The kids chicken nuggets seemed to be microwaved and I'd definitely stay away from the brisket if you are any type of foodie. Thankfully the dessert shooters and pizza were great at the end of the night. We did also have issues with the apps, dessert, and pizza being replenished. My mom had to go and request they restock it up multiple times.
The reason why I didn't give more stars is the hotel situation. It was a complete nightmare for us. We had to juggle rooms as people were booked into the wrong room types. There was zero response from Jordan on any of the issues we faced leading up to the wedding. Thankfully we had Amber on our side to help get things somewhat straightened out. What really got me the most is that when I was at the desk asking about certain situations and why things weren't being handled, I got a response of "we have been really busy" and it was from JORDAN! Who never once introduced herself to me and apologized/owned up to her lack of communication. With all the money we spent on the wedding and the hotel rooms, I would have expected a higher quality of service. I found it highly unprofessional. Fortunately the rest of the hotel staff was great and did their best to support us. The rooms are beautiful so the was a plus. All in all, the event coordinators are fantastic. If they can get their food on point and a new hotel manager in that knows how to do their job, this place is worth 5 stars.

We absolutely loved everything about planning and having our wedding at CityFlats. From the very beginning before we booked, Amber and the City Flats staff were so accommodating and super responsive. It made planning so easy and the whole wedding process stress free. We really couldn’t have asked for a better day and planning process. All of our guests loved everything and we wish we could do it all over again.
Thank you again to Amber, Mark and everyone at city flats!

My husband and I got married here a year ago and majority of the process was unprofessional.
We first signed when Riley and Jess were working there, summer of 2020, LOVED them, they were a big part of why we decided to go with the venue. When they left we were not made aware and I only found out when I sent an email and received a bounce back.
I then worked with 4 or 5 different people until our 2022 wedding due to turnover. Only one of them had the courtesy of letting me know they were leaving before I was handed off to another coordinator, otherwise I found out by emailing and getting a bounce back. Which is extremely unprofessional when someone is supposed to be your point of contact for an event like this. And that’s not really on the coordinators, if they are moving on, a manager should be contacting couples to let them know.
We had our tasting summer of 2022 and that is where we found out the prices had gone up. We understood that in the contract it stated market prices could go up, but it would’ve been appreciated if that were communicated, especially since they knew we signed the contract in 2020 and our wedding was 2022.
They should know couples need to budget for changes like that and to be blind sided at the tasting was disappointing, especially because it wasn’t directly addressed, we noticed the price changes on the menu items we were interested in.
Anytime I reached out to the venue I felt like a burden, either because they didn’t know the answer to my questions and had to do a lot of double checking or they made me feel like I was a chore. And, I had to reach out multiple times before receiving a response.
When our final payment was due, the invoice was wrong twice, I had to correct the math for them.
I also had to reach out for our deposit back, which we did receive.
When my husband and I wanted to see the ballroom before our guests entered, we had noticed that an appetizer station was set up after we paid an additional fee to have them served to guests, then we were told it wasn’t on our order, which it was, because I had to look it over several times due to errors. The manager spoke up and stated it was on there and it would be fixed. But, we should’ve just kept the station and saved our money, because the way they were served was laughable.
Except for a bartender that was very unfriendly and not willing to use the drink stirrers that we provided after being instructed to do so, all service staff were more than helpful and kind, it was the management and coordinators that are lacking professionalism and compassion for couples.
Another thing that was missed was the podium that we requested since we also had our ceremony at the venue and now all of our photos during our ceremony have a butt ugly microphone stand in them instead of a podium we were told would be set up. There was nothing I could do about that though.
I am a very detailed person, so I did a lot of the work for them, but they were too laid back when it came to following through, so much so, we had to hire a day of coordinator to oversee things and other than the appetizer station she along with the florist made everything happen as I had hoped.
So, if you do decide to choose this venue you will have to stay on top of the coordinators in order to get the day you want and I would suggest hiring a coordinator.

My sister got married in July 15th here, and the manager Bonnie was rude. She sent the decorator away which was the cousin of the groom. Proceeded to tell us (the wedding party) that we were responsible to set up the tables. My sister was in absolute tears due to this cause this cut into picture time and she had a plan. They were telling us it was a communication error. Luckily a few other cousins stepped in and made things happen so we could finish pictures. Dinner was a hour late. The AC wasn’t turned on during the ceremony or reception. But of course they had it on for the workers setting up the tables but not for the room of 200 people. attending. Food was terrible. Beef was dry and the salad dressing was basically oil. No flavor at all. And the staff didn’t come around at all with water refills. I had to go up and ask for pitchers for the tables. My sister deserves so much better.

We loved having our wedding at CityFlatsHotel! For the value, it’s amazing! The staff was super helpful. We did have a communication issue intially, but they quickly corrected it. Food is pretty typical for a wedding venue/hall. We were able to get in the day earlier (no event scheduled on that Friday) to set up everything which really helped. They also let us bring in a vendor for a coffee cart which was a hit! Definitely recommend this venue.

Our daughters wedding at the end of March was an absolute dream. Sydney and Melissa and their whole team were amazing to work with. The food was delicious and they treated us like we were family! I love a business that makes you feel like you were their number one priority, they had integrity and high character, and the ballroom was immaculate. The set up was beautiful and our daughter said it was more than she could’ve even imagined!!

The event team was fantastic! They were open to a lot of my ideas! They moved a coffee cart in front of the stairs so my one year old wouldn’t play there and let me buy my own Polaroid film. The ballroom is gorgeous on its own so I didn’t have to do much decorating and they even had an arch and tulle, table cloths, napkins, chairs, table numbers, cake stands, tip jars, Polaroid cameras, etc. included with the room rental. I could bring in my own dessert which saved us some money! The serving staff was awesome and had positive attitudes so we invited them on the dance floor at the end of the night! The event manager was amazing and even helped clean hotel rooms for our bridal party as we switched rooms from rehearsal day to wedding day! Another thing I loved was even though we chose a buffet, we got our salads plated and served to us!
Only thing that I heard others say they didn’t care for was the hotel booking wasn’t well organized if you have a block, they ran out of bud light at our open bar, and the food wasn’t as great tasting as it was at our tasting trial.

I’d love to give a better review, but there was some major communication issues at the venue. With switching of management and things changing certain things included that they set up they no longer did and was not communicated to me until about a month or so before my wedding. I had to reach out for the tasting and our meetings and response sometimes took weeks. The tasting is where we chose one of our entrees and it was not the same the actual day of my wedding. It was bruschetta chicken and it had NO bruschetta on it at all the day of my wedding. Apparently a change in chefs. Either way any changes should be communicated!! The food ended up being good and the day went smooth and staff worked well the day of. I got compliments of how beautiful it was. An improvement of the staff and how they communicate would make this venue a 5/5!

Amber was very helpful in getting us organized and set for the big day. They went through every detail with a fine tooth comb to make sure things were just how I envisioned. Sydney, the new manager, was able to tie it altogether and execute my wishes so I could relax and fullt enjoy my day. Not only that, we were able to connect on a personal level when my nerves were a mess which meant more to me than anything else. I cannot recommend this venue enough. While pricey, they deliver...and you absolutely get what you pay for!

*BEWARE FUTURE BRIDES*
My husband I got married here at the end of August...
Physically this is a BEAUTIFUL place to get married and have a reception. No complaints in that department.. But unfortunately the management was very very poor. Every step was very complicated when it didn't have to be. The coordinator would take almost two weeks sometimes to call or email us back. We were told to give a list of eight rooms and people in them for a room block with a discount. We did so successfully and come to find out my dad (father of the bride) didn't even have a room even though he was first on the list! We had to embarrassingly ask a friend to cancel their room so he had one. We also we told in the beginning we would get a free room for having our event there.. that was never honored either. Night before the wedding they tried to run my husbands credit card for ALL the hotel rooms.. the front desk told him "We thought you were rich or you won the lottery or something.." I was APAULED!!!!! We go the master suite to stay in friday night and saturday night. Me and my girls got ready there on Saturday morning/afternoon. We had run out of toilet paper so a bridesmaid went to the front desk to ask for more and they said "it wasn't included"... i was APAULED AGAIN! Paid over $800 for two nights and COULDN'T EVEN GET MORE TOILET PAPER!!!! My husband the morning after our wedding was blowing his nose in the bathroom towels.. Night of the wedding they told me if I did not get all of my decorations out of the ballroom by 1:00 am that night that they were going to keep my decorations!!!!! I was totally taken back...
What a shame a BEAUTIFUL place like this is being ran this way..
I will never return....

I was actually surprised with all the positive comments given to Cityflats. I had my reception there earlier this month and it wasn’t the greatest experience. The whole planning up to the wedding was disorganized on their end. Had my event planner quit a few months prior to my wedding and in a meeting stated “ I don’t care about your wedding, this is my last week here”. This back set so much planning and caused so much confusion for my special day. Do not I repeat do not chose the “New York Steak” as a meal option. This is a $38 menu option that was served looking like a Sal’s berry microwave dinner! Beyond embarrassed!! I had to give an honest review, my experience was terrible. If you book here I hope your experience is much better. Also you don’t get room discounts like they may promise on your big day. Silliest thing I paid for was two salad dressings since not everyone likes just on dressing, over a $100 surcharge. All in all if I could change one thing about my wedding it would of been the venue.

We are still amazed about how perfect our wedding day was! Thank you to Amber and everyone at CityFlatsHotel in Port Huron for working so hard to ensure our wedding day was the best day ever. The food was wonderful and the waiting staff was so attentive. As soon as we sat down after our pictures, they brought our appetizers and signature drinks to us (which were amazing). Many of our guests told us how wonderful all the staff at CityFlats was and that our wedding was the best they have ever attended! The hotel rooms are AMAZING! I HIGHLY recommend this venue, as they made our day absolutely perfect.

My husband and I got married at CityFlatsHotel Port Huron on 02.12.22 and we had a GREAT experience!! All the staff was incredible but I have to give a shout out to Jenny for helping us coordinate our dream day! She answered question after question for me, responds quickly and even the silliest questions were made important. We were so well taken care of, our guests had a blast and LOVED the vault! Everything seemed “easier” than I imagined it would be! From our guests only great things have been relayed to us. We get to be guests in October and I am so excited to experience it in all ways possible!
I am also a hairstylist and have worked on location and again as always everyone is so kind!
We are local to the area and I must also rave about the restaurants they have to offer!
Location has great photo opportunities as well, including the vault, lights downtown, river, and of course the ballroom itself!

The entire CityFlats staff was incredible. My fiance and I have extremely busy/full lives between work and school, PLUS planning a wedding within 5 months of booking the venue!!!
Jenny our coordinator made everything so smooth and STRESS FREE. She was friendly, responsive, on top of everything, and such a pleasure to work with. Everyone on staff is just the kind of people that you want to be around on your special day. Thank you CityFlats, and God bless you for all your support.

I had planned for a wedding with CityFlatsHotel in Port Huron before Covid-19 existed, and had wonderful experience with the venue. Since then, we postponed with the gracious and helpfulness of the venue and were able to host our event in June of 2020. All of the staff that we worked with were beyond sweet and helpful for all interactions. It's a wonderful venue with some unique aspects (the vault is really neat!) and it is a nice addition for Port Huron area. They offered tons of services to make planning and executing easier as well! I had multiple guests tell me it was the best wedding they attended. Highly recommend checking them out.

I wish I could give CityFlats 100 stars! They were exceptional. The venue itself is beautiful and unique, right downtown and on the water. Our guests loved the bank vault! The food was delicious, we had many positive comments. The staff was so amazing! From the very beginning, Jess responded promptly to every email answering all of our questions and going above and beyond to meet our every wish. On the day of our wedding, we were treated like royalty by everyone on staff! One of my bridesmaids had wet hair and forgot a blowdryer when we were getting ready. Jess ran home and brought back her personal hair dryer for us to use! Can't say enough good things about CityFlats!
