Wow, where do I begin - First of all, I honestly feel like everything in life is serendipitous. When my (now-) husband and I moved up to Saint Paul, we were lucky enough to try many different food trucks as they always set up shop right across the street from our building. One day, it was a truck with a Union flag on it: Potter's Pasties. Of course, I had to follow this truck on instagram immediately so that I could keep track of it - being obsessed with all things British. Then we bought a house north of the Cities and no food trucks park across from where we live now :( however, I still kept track of Potter's Pasties on instagram juuuust in case.
One day, pretty soon after I'd gotten engaged, I see a PP post about a London taxi. Like, a real LTI London taxi. And the caption was something about 'soon to be available for party rent.' I immediately commented, "WHAT ABOUT WEDDINGS LIKE NEXT SEPTEMBER TO BE EXACT?" The owner, Alec, had me fill out the inquiry form on the website and soon we were emailing back and forth working through all of the details. Keep in mind, this whole correspondence started in January of this year (2019) so when I say I JUMPED on this opportunity, I almost actually leapt.
Alec was so great at answering all of my questions and providing me with information - I was actually going to be the first person to ever get to use the taxi for an event, so we were both kind of learning as we went along (which of course also appealed to me a lot). We worked everything out and as it got closer, we checked in more frequently, just making sure those final details were nailed down. Initially, I was just hoping to have pictures in/with the taxi, and it turned out that there was going to be a whole photo booth rig built into the taxi so that all of my guests could use it, too! It was a super unique bonus to my original plan.
The day of the wedding, he let me know when he arrived at my hotel (I wanted some photos getting into the taxi before the ceremony, etc) and he was awesome enough to let us do that. He even drove up to the ceremony site to let us get some pics of my dad helping me out of the taxi at the ceremony and then let us take some photos inside as bride and groom as if we were in our getaway car. It was all so amazing. We hadn't even gotten to the reception/dinner yet!
Once we were done taking photos, Alec headed down to the restaurant and while we were all eating, he got everything set up, WITH A PRINTER AND EVERYTHING, so that the guests could start using the actual photo booth. Inside is decorated with the Union flag and some old 45s and he had little photo booth props for all of us to use, too! Even better was that since the photos were taken on an iPad, we're able to look at the photos first and give the go-ahead to be printed. Then as we walked back into the dinner, there they were - printed and ready to be taken home/put in memory books.
Seriously, if you're looking for something different, fun, and little destionation-y, and of course, if you're an Anglophile like me, this London Taxi photo booth is the way to go. My guests had so much fun with it and so far, the photos of us newlyweds in the taxi are 100% my favorites.
10/10 highly recommend.
