Clay and his wife were great! On time, making sure to get the necessary shots but the process was alright. They just cared about getting the shots but didn't really care about how each person was positioned precisely. There were some awkard spacing, clothes and other fabrics were not positioned right, just not something I was expecting from a professional photographer. And while they were there, they looked like they were not mentally there and just wanted to get the shots in, so kind of rushed. The pictures came out nice and clear but not the best. If anyone wants to book them, make sure to ask them if the positioning looks good, if anything looks off, etc. I wouldn't mind booking them again, but if I did, I'd make sure everything looks alright.

If I could leave above five stars for Clay and Maggie, I would! Their kind hearts put the cherry on top of an already efficient and professional business. Their attention to detail, creative eyes, and artistic expression is unmatched. In the beginning, my husband and I hopped on a facetime call with Clay and Maggie to discuss our vision for our engagement photos and wedding photos. Without a doubt, they listened to every detail and took note of every one of our requests! They were able to capture an amazing outdoor atmosphere out of a disc golf track for our engagement session! I asked for "in the moment" photos for our wedding, and they did not disappoint! Clay and Maggie captured every photo I listed on my shot list and, without hesitation, sent me a copy of a bridesmaid that I thought they missed (I had 10 bridesmaids, so it was a lot of formal photos to capture, cull, and edit!). Clay and Maggie created a flow of events the day of the wedding that kept both me and my husband relaxed. They were gentle with our timeline so we didn't feel rushed, yet kept us on track and pushed through to be on time throughout the evening. They kept me at ease (which was extremely important to me being a "type A" bride) and let us enjoy our day together. They quite literally captured every "in the moment" photo I could have ever asked for. I am eternally grateful for my experience with Clay and Maggie and would choose them again and again! They were EASILY one of the best decisions in my wedding planning journey.

Clay and Maggie were excellent to work with. I've heard it said that it is very important to enjoy your photographers on your wedding day, you spend a lot of time with them! My wife and I were thrilled to be able to spend time with Clay and Maggie during both our engagement shoot AND our wedding day. They were highly professional, prepared, and got us our photos in a timely manner even in the midst of some big life events on their end. They were warm and fun, and make the photoshoots something to look forward to rather than something to be nervous about. I would highly recommend them!

Clay and Maggie are the absolute best!! It happened to rain during our ceremony and they were so positive and calm and took the most incredible pictures! They gave suggestions on where to take our wedding party pictures when our original plan wasn't going to work due to the rain which took a lot of stress off of us! We gave them a shot list of pictures that we really wanted and they captured those and then some that we didn't even think of which we are so thankful for! He did a good job at communicating with us and helped us get a list ready of pictures we wanted and thoughts we had for our day. He exceeded all of our expectations. The pictures were great. He fit our relaxed, backyard family wedding and we couldn't have been happier with the results.

We hired Clay and Maggie for engagement and wedding photos. Just had the engagement shoot and cannot express enough how amazing the entire experience was. From our first meeting to now getting our engagement photos back, it has been absolutely wonderful working with them. We can't wait for our wedding photoshoot! Extremely easy to work with and they are exceptional during the shoot, making my fiance, Tessa, and I both comfortable while taking photos (we don't take a lot of photos, so this was awesome). Clay even brought hand warmers and let Tessa use them (the shoot was in January and it was very cold). Cannot recommend them enough!

Where do I start with Clay and Maggie.... From the day we met Clay and Maggie for a consultation over coffee, we knew that they were the perfect choice for our wedding photography. They are so much fun to be around and have a great energy. When we did our engagement pictures, we spent so much time laughing and enjoying the time we had. We got our engagement pictures back about 3 weeks after we took them. During our wedding, it was so nice to have both Clay and Maggie there to capture 2x the moments. Maggie was so much fun while my girls and I were getting ready and I know the boys liked hanging out with Clay too. They were totally on it with all of our requests and made sure we got every shot quickly and efficiently. We got our wedding photos back right at 6 weeks after our wedding, and they are ABSOLUTELY dreamy! Our families and friends have given us so many compliments on them as well. I know we will treasure these photos for the rest of our lives, and we are so happy that we choose Clay and Maggie for our wedding and engagement pictures.

Ahhh. We love Clay and Maggie. First of all, they're your friends first—at our first meet-up they literally called us homie, dawg, bro, and we've never felt so seen by a wedding vendor 😂 My main desire for our wedding day was that it felt very natural, not very scheduled or staged, and that my husband and I just got to be in the moment and not pulled off for pictures or poses all the time. Clay and Maggie were like ninjas, blending in with our bridal party, joking around with our families, and capturing those natural moments we wanted most. They were super flexible on timeline of the wedding day, letting us pick what was important to us and then taking care of the remaining details so we didn't have any extra decisions on our shoulders. Our pictures are so natural and raw and perfection; they capture our joy and excitement to a freaking tee. We just purchased our first home and we can't WAIT for Clay and Maggie's work to be the first thing our guests see when they walk in the front door because you can bet your bottom dollar we are hangin' our photos EVVVERYWHERE. Clay & Maggie were incredible- which we knew from our engagement photos -they made us feel confident and relaxed. BUT WOWW! Our wedding photos blew us away. When we met Clay and Maggie, we fell in love immediately. They clearly have the talent, but they also have incredible personalities. They were one of our favorite vendors from the beginning and were very patient with us when planning our engagement shoot. During the actual wedding they were fun, easy to work with, and I felt like they went above and beyond. The photos from our wedding turned out phenomenal, as well. The only frustration was their lack of communication towards the end. I don’t think their lack of communication happens with all their clients, because they were great at the beginning. They had life get in the way, which we understood. I would still recommend these photographers any day, but I would just recommend to communicate on both ends!

Clay & Maggie were awesome to work with for our wedding this year! They are a personable, down-to-earth, husband and wife team that keep things light, fun, and natural when shooting pictures. We loved getting to work with Clay and Maggie. They were easy to connect with, made the process so simple, and walked/coaches us through what we needed to do throughout the whole day. It was so easy to have them be a part of our day and they fit right in with the rest of our crew - Clay even got a couple of ping-pong games in with some of my groomsmen! We could not have asked for better photographers! I didn’t realize how important it was to have two photographers until our wedding day. When I first looked for a photographer on The Knot, I was already getting inundated by calls and emails from vendors we met at the local wedding show, and that was annoying to me. I went on the site to try to find a reasonable photographer and found this sweet couple with only about 8 reviews at the time (over doubled since then just 6 months ago!), and fell in love with the mood and romance of their photography style. I wanted to give my business to this company that deserves more attention on this site. Do not let their baby faces worry you! This team is incredible! Clay and Maggie literally felt like part of our wedding party, words taken right from my new husband’s mouth. They are so easy to work with, so professional, made my guy feel completely relaxed on our wedding day, and were wonderful with our little girl too! Best decision we made hiring Clay Swanson Photography to photograph our wedding! Very professional, personable, prompt and it was enjoyable to spend the day with them. Clay and Maggie weren’t just our photographers, they became our friends and beloved wedding guests! (Even though we brought a table for them to sit and eat but accidentally loaded back in the truck and forgot to set up for them!) .... always feed and care for those helping at your wedding.

My husband and I had an absolutely incredible photography experience. Clay and Maggie have such a good blend of being professional but also so personal and fun! There was no standing around waiting for pictures - they came prepared with poses and we knocked them out one after another! But it never felt rushed. I am a Dallas girl planning a Kansas City wedding. If you’re a bride, take a minute and let that set in. Stress sweat has become a constant thing for me. When searching for a photographer, Clay & Maggies effortless style is exactly what i wanted. After video chatting with them, there was no other option, it had to be them. When my engagement shoot came up, we drove to Kansas City from Dallas. & as every fun Wedding story goes: it was raining and 35 degrees. I don’t think even Zanex could have calmed me down that day, this had been planned for so long. Maggie emailed me and kept me so calm and cared for. I can't say anything but wonderful things about Maggie and Clay! From the first day I met them I knew I had made the right choice. After meeting them for the first time I remember thinking wow... they genuinely care about getting to know me and I feel as if I am talking with friends! Not only are they wonderful people to be around but they are also very professional and go above and beyond to meet your every need and make you feel comfortable. When it came time for our engagement photos they were flexible when we had to move the date to make sure our outdoor shoot would have all the wonderful fall colors. Not only that, but at the time Maggie was over 9 months pregnant and she was more than happy to still come out and walk around the park for our session! Taking pictures can many times be awkward but they made the entire process fun and enjoyable. Our pictures turned out absolutely perfect, and I felt like they were able to truly capture the essence of our personalities and relationship in every shot. I was a bridesmaid in my best friend's wedding. This is the first wedding that I had ever been involved in and working with Clay as our photographer was something that I can say truly enhanced the overall wedding experience! He was on time & early, sent in one of his female teammates into our dressing room to capture those special "getting ready" moments. They worked as a team throughout the early morning and into the late evening to capture special moments, multiple angles, and everything in between the events of the wedding. He was open to opinions, suggestions, and the random crazy ideas we threw out (we were a high energy bunch!). They carried themselves well and were a delight to have at the wedding. They were in the middle of all of the fun, yet seemed to go unnoticed, never interrupting the flow of the night or genuine interactions between the guests and bridal party.
