My wife and I chose Courtyards of Andover because they were the most accommodating place we found. The outdoor ceremony area was very nice with a waterfall, the indoors had twinkle lights, and draped fabric that made the hall look fabulous.
At the beginning Amanda, our wedding and event specialist, would answer our questions quickly and with details. However, the closer we got to the wedding; the more things started shifting the way they worked with us. It was nothing but headaches leading up to the wedding.
We had our down payment in as well as all monthly payments leading up to the wedding in on time. We were negotiating the food and beverage minimum down from $5,000 due to Covid. We had over 250 guests invited and because of Covid only 90 showed. They agreed to meet us on the minimum but never did. They repeatedly told us we needed to be closer to $5000.” We added 2 appetizers to bring us to about $3600. They said we needed to be closer to $4000. Amanda kept saying she needed to go to management. We added a luncheon for our family which brought it to about $3900. Amanda sent us an email saying we needed to be closer to $4000 and she took the liberty of adding a third appetizer and adjusted our other appetizers to bring our total to about $4300. I told her we would do the 3rd appetizer, but to put the counts back down to 100 each vs the 150 she moved them up to. This brought our number to just over $4000. After we got our final bill, I noticed the pricing of the milk changed from $15 to $21 a gallon.
Due to Covid they weren’t going to allow us to dance. Amanda said that they would have a tent set up outside to accommodate us for the dance. 3 days later she emailed us saying we would be charged $500 for the tent. This tent had been up for several months and even though we didn’t pay for it, it was up the day of our wedding.
We were told that we could have the rehearsal the night before our wedding. However, they wouldn’t let us book it until about a week before, just in case another event was scheduled. The rehearsal went well, but the area of the outdoor ceremony was a mess. My dad and mother-in-law were picking up sticks, leaves and rocks off the path, weeding the flower beds, etc. We were told it would be cleaned up.
The day of the wedding had come and Amanda told us she wouldn’t be working. The inside looked amazing, but they never cleaned up the outdoor area.
One of the food items we had was prime rib. We requested it to be cooked rare. It was supposed to be served with horseradish sauce which we never got. The prime rib looked and tasted more like pot roast. It was supposed to be a 10 oz portion and instead it was sliced thin like deli meat, was mostly fat, well done, had little flavor, and was tougher than jerky. We found out later that they are known for their prime rib. We had our meals served with garlic mashed potatoes and glazed carrots. When you tried to eat the potatoes, the whole thing was one big clump. The carrots were shriveled and overcooked. Our Caesar salad had very little dressing on it. The apps tasted good and we did have a very caring server who went above and beyond. Unfortunately, all the food was cold.
One of our guests hadn’t received his meal, so he found a server and showed them his food card. The server said they ran out of food and he wouldn’t be getting served even though ten people had not shown up. We were eventually able to get him some food.
I wouldn’t recommend this venue to anyone.
Unique Dining was the exclusive caterer for our wedding venue, Bloom Lake Barn. Amanda is so organized and kept me on track when I had so many things going on and changing with covid restrictions. She is amazing to work with! The staff was great the day our wedding! Kind and attentive - the food was great and plated so nicely for guests. We are so thankful for their service.
Amanda and all the staff were so friendly and amazing to work with. They were very receptive to all my requests and I could tell they wanted to make sure that my wedding would go exactly the way I wanted. My wedding day was an amazing experience and I am so grateful to the staff for helping make that possible. Also, the food is DELICIOUS and I received so many compliments on the mac and cheese bar!
This venue worked great for us! It was nothing extravagant but the courtyard is beautiful and the inside is a perfect space for a large wedding (the north hall). The grounds are always kept up very nicely, it's always clean. The food is good. Also Amanda Twait is amazing! She helped us through the whole process and was always patient, easy to work with and readily available! My only complaints about this venue are sometimes items are up charged way too much (but I did find this the case at most venues in my search) and sadly I did get quite a few complaints about the staff being rude the day of the wedding which was very disappointing because we had such a good experience with Amanda.
This was the perfect venue! They were easy to work with and answered all my questions in a timely matter.
Courtyards was wonderful. Everything was set up perfectly and the food was great!
I cannot say enough great things about Courtyards of Andover and the catering company. The staff was wonderful to work with and was constantly in touch throughout the wedding planning process.
We had to add on a few meals three days prior to our event and they told us it wouldn't be an issue at all! The event space was spacious with a large dance floor and the hall was set up perfectly. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and the food was delicious! I highly recommend considering this venue!
Courtyards did a great job they were very easy to work with and reasonable.
The perfect venue if you are looking for affordability and beauty. Super accommodating and always gave a quick response. The ceremony site is stunning, and the reception hall couldn't have been more fantastic (huge dance floor, by the way). I cannot say enough good things about The Courtyards of Andover. If you're looking to have your dream wedding, but can't afford those other places, then this is the place you should be checking out for sure.
We chose the Courtyards of Andover for our ceremony and reception. They were great! Anne was very accomodating and always available to answer any questions and the food was amazing! They were there while we were setting up and willing to help with anything. We received many compliments from our guests on how good the food and service was. Based on similar venues in the area, their prices are very reasonable as well.
The Ceremony was held outside which was beautiful. The reception inside was nice as well. The food was ok... I should of asked what the dinner rolls looked like. They look like buns from cub foods. The communication was lacking. Email response was days and not within timely matter for me to work with my other vendors to set up times for the wedding day. Our food was served late because of lack of communication and words were exchanged to the groom like we were in the wrong for what time dinner is served. We agreed on 6pm but again this is where the lack of communication came to play. Our guests got anxious. I had guests come up to me and tell me the mens restroom had no toilet paper and I had to find someone to have this tended to. I was the BRIDE. I should not be told there is no toilet paper in the bathroom and that no one was able to find someone to help. Overall. I give this place a 3 1/2 rating. I married my husband and thats all that matters to me now.
The space is great Large space able to accommodate 300+ guests and the Staff do an Excellent job making sure things run smoothly. They also we able to accommodate many additional request I had including a custom menu and set up.
Really nice place, great service, lots of "extras" in the meals that most places nickle and dime you for, lots of parking for guests, easy access, nice decor--I'm glad I had my wedding here, I had tons of complements on how nice it was and how good the food was.
Very easy and pleasant to work with.
I thought that the Courtyards was a wonderful place for our day. Everything they did went good and everybody had a wonderful time. We had our ceremony outside along with pictures and everything turned out great.
They were very helpful and willing to accommodate anything that we wanted to incorporate. The Courtyards outside were awesome for some outdoor pictures!
We picked the Courtyards because of the location, the fantasic food, the beautiful outside courtyard area (fantasic for photos) and the coordinator. We knew we were going to be inviting some guests with gluten allergies and who were vegetarians. So, when looking for a venue, we wanted a place willing to work with us in providing fantasic meals for these guests, while not limiting our food choices for the rest of our guests. The Courtyards was fantastic in allowing us to choose two plated options for dinner choices (steak and chicken), and also allowing our "special request" guests to have a veggie option avaliable and a gluten free meal avaliable. We had several compliments on the food!
And, even though the original wedding coordinator for the site went on leave just two months before our wedding, the new coordinator was fantasic in making sure everything was taken care of.
My one and only complaint was the food/drink "minimum" we needed to reach....but I think that's pretty common in the Mpls/St Paul area.
Overall, would recommend to others!
The lady we dealt with was Diane and I give her a 5 star rating. The only issues I had was the food wasn't served when I had requested, and some of the wait staff was rude when serving, and they didn't tell us when last call was and we had drink tickets people were trying to use up.
We held our ceremony and reception at Courtyards of Andover. Everything went so smoothly, and the coordinator was wonderful. The entire night went so smooth. This venue was perfect for our perfect evening.
Overall the hall was, clean, beautiful and dinner was amazing! My only complaint was the cake cutting. I had 4 different servers come up and ask if we were going to take pictures of the cake, when we were going to do it, can they cut it yet, etc. The first time I hadn't even finished my meal, and the next few times they were still only serving the main course to the middle section of the ballroom...a little rushed..then they ruined the top layer and seemed surprised that my mom wanted to take it home..
Reception hall was in pristine condition looking new and elegant, food was fantastic. we recieved many compliments;Coordinater of the reception venue was great and nice to us up until we handed over the money. It was a hot outside the day of our wedding and the hall was stiffling warm, we as well as guests asked them to turn up the AC and we were denied. They also told us we had to cut the cake 'right now!' because the kitchen was closing down. Gee thanks I didn't know I had to cut my cake on your schedule. That's not very professional or accomidating.
The food was AMAZING and the room was HUGE. I liked the way the room looked lighted trees BIG chandeliers service was GREAT nothing went wrong even though we showed up an hour early! The staff made the day go by smoothly and guests were very pleased with food and service as well.;During the time of my wedding there was road construction around the Courtyards of Andover and alot of people couldnt find it. Somehow everyone made it though since we were early to the reception hall it was great that people got lost! (I could have made better directions =/ oops) Everything was wonderful. I would recommend this place because it was reasonably priced and food was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO good.
It was new, up to date, had a beautiful mural on the wall, lighted plants, nice hanging chandaliers, clean, really pretty outdoor area with beautiful flowers and water, great food and service
