Our style is natural, unique, and spontaneous, capturing those special moments of your wedding day. Obviously, I can't control the weather, but this is just my way of making sure my couple gets beautiful images of their wedding day. I'm Crystal the owner of Crystal Image Photography. I'm a Wedding & Destination Photographer based in VA and travel all over the country to cover weddings of all types. I am also an LGBTQ friendly wedding photographer.I'm married and have one daughter. My daughter Casey is and will always be my best accomplishment in my life! I have entered my 25th year in business this year in 2021 and Casey has become my second shooter. So, I guess you could say we are a mother and daughter team! I'm a huge animal lover. I share my home with five beautiful rescue tuxedo kitties (NO, I am not a crazy cat lady :) and one little blind Bichon dog. Jaxson is my daughter's loveable black lab who everyone loves to meet as you may find him traveling with us at times. I'm a big-time coffee drinker, lover of tattoos, and sometimes craft beer drinker. In my free time, you can find me anywhere near the sun, sand, and water....preferably in the Caribbean if I can get there.

I had a great experience with Crystal and her team. From my very first phone call with her, I knew she was the one for us! Booking with her was super simple. We really appreciated being able to make payments and all of the inclusions in the packages she offers. She responded to my never ending questions in a timely manner and helped me feel more confident and prepared. My sunset engagement photos were absolutely stunning. That was our first time having professional photos taken and Crystal made us feel so comfortable. My wedding photos were also so beautiful. My only complaint is that, as the bride, I only got a few photos alone. Looking back now, I wish I would’ve gotten bridal portraits done. It also seemed that there were more photos of my husband and his family versus mine. I should have been more clear about my wants. I’m still very pleased with my photos and couldn’t have imagined our day without Crystal and her team! We will definitely be using her again in the future! 🤍

We found Crystal and instantly knew she was the one we wanted to work with! Whether it was her amazing editing style or the fact that she had a rain check in case it rained on our wedding day, we felt so confident in choosing her. Booking was super easy, and we were thrilled she was still available for our date. Crystal made the planning process so smooth. Since we didn’t have a wedding planner, her help with our timeline was a lifesaver. She made sure everything had its moment and gave us so much peace of mind. On the big day, Crystal showed up with Leah and Derek, and they were the best team we could’ve asked for. The three of them captured so many beautiful pictures and videos that we’ll treasure forever. Our only regret? Not booking a longer package so they could have captured our Robot-led party and grand exit! Now we’re trying to pick our top 80 pictures for the album, and it’s nearly impossible because there are just so many great ones. The photos were so good they even made my grandma and dad cry! Crystal and her team really listened to what mattered most to us and captured all the little details perfectly. If you’re looking for someone amazing to trust with your wedding photos and videos, Crystal is the way to go. We’re so grateful for her and her team for making our memories last forever!

Crystal and her team, Leah and Jacqueline, were our absolute favorite vendors! They were so thorough with details and made sure to capture the most perfect moments. They created a content creation video, and did videography and photos for us. Our content creation video was absolutely amazing, and we were so happy to share it with everyone on our social media! We have received so many compliments on our wedding photos, and are awestruck at all the of beautiful moments they captured. Our wedding video is amazing, and we are so grateful to have that video to cherish forever. We felt so comfortable and at ease with them, and they helped our wedding day to be perfect. We also were able to do engagement photos with Crystal, which we absolutely love and have hung up all over our house. All three of them were so responsive and knowledgeable, and fun, I could not recommend them enough! We are so lucky to have found them!

Where do I start? Crystal is amazing! From the pre-booking call to ensure a proper fit- the questionnaires before each session and the open communication with Crystal is so seamless. She really takes all feedback into consideration and when your session begins Crystal already has a solid plan in place so you don’t feel lost or out of place. From our engagement session we really learned the ropes of getting our poses and we had so much fun on our wedding day. We asked Crystal to focus (other than typical wedding shots) on quality time with our families and our guests have been raving about her and her team ever since. I’ve heard “They never missed a beat!” And “I can’t wait to see your photos, the team of photographers truly seemed to know what they were doing!”. I have seen Crystal in action at a wedding prior to mine and when I saw her on TheKnot I knew I had to reach out. Thank you again Crystal- I can’t wait to see the images from our big day!

Crystal and her team were such a joy to work with. We had our engagement shoot as part of the package, and that was a wonderful way to meet Crystal, and for her to know us before our wedding day. On our wedding day, I truthfully did not even register when she was taking photos; a sign of a true expert! And the photos are GOREGOUS. We were very impressed by Crystal and her team! They’re super friendly and very responsive to questions. They want to know all the details of the wedding so they can best prepare for what we wanted. They genuinely care about what we want. Their photos are beautiful, and they’re very skilled at telling us what to do to get wonderful photos. Their editing style wasn’t quite what we were looking for, but that’s just a personal choice and has nothing to do with their photography knowledge, poses, and quality. Other than some photos seeming a little washed out, the photos were beautifully posed and shot. If you like the look of the photos in their gallery, I highly recommend Crystal!

We spent quite a bit of time figuring out who our wedding photographer was going to be. We reached out to several people, who were wrong for a myriad reasons. When we met with Crystal, the fit was immediately correct. She asked thoughtful questions, and her enthusiasm for weddings and capturing the magic was infectious. We knew we were in good hands. After a few phone calls, and a few questionnaires we were off to the races. We had Crystal do our engagement photo shoot and our wedding photography. In both cases, Crystal took photos that were natural and beautiful. But the magic of Crystal's craft didn't come out until we saw the candid photos she took throughout the night of 6/3/2023. She, and her second shooter Casey, captured some really wonderful moments of our guests interacting, and dancing, and laughing. It was amazing. If you want beautifully framed photos of your wedding; Crystal is your gal. If you want fabulous photos of your wedding guests having the time of their lives; Crystal is your gal. I couldn't recommend her more highly. Hirer THIS photographer for your wedding.

Do yourself a favor and book her!!! From our first meeting, Crystal put my fiancée and I at ease- like we had found the right photographer, especially since we had some less than traditional ideas. We had so much fun laughing through our engagement session, and we were blown away when we got the photos back, so we knew our wedding photos would be great. Turns out we couldn’t have predicted how beautiful they would came out. Crystal and her daughter kept us on track throughout our wedding day, dealing with family members and making sure we got every shot on our list. We look like absolute queens in our pictures, and our big day was completely stress free. Incredibly, the package options were less than we expected to budget- the value is unmatched. We 100% recommend Crystal!

Miss Crystal did a fantastic job. the photos are spectacular and she made sure all of our needs were met. she has so many pricing options available and is super timely with everything from showing up on time, working with the materials with detail shots, and making you feel comfortable and calm with all the directions she gives. everything felt natural and she was always aware of which photos to take and she made everyone look amazing. she handled every situation with grace and professionalism and had a smile on her face the entire time. she was so sweet to get along with and felt like a friend capturing a moment. book herrrr asap. she was more than what we expected and reasonably priced!

Crystal and her daughter are the best photographers! Crystal shot both our engagement photos and wedding photos, and they turned out amazing! Her style is very warm and fall-ish which matched our theme perfectly. They arrived on time on the day of the wedding and were very patient with the large bridal party. Crystal was a dream to work with, and so flexible with me and my husband as we scheduled our engagement and wedding photos and postponed dates due to COVID. I love her style of muted tones and she does a wonderful job with outdoor nature shots. My husband and I were super nervous to do our first professional photoshoot together for the engagement shots but it was a really good decision - Crystal is so easy going and knew exactly what kind of poses we should do. She was able to use the engagement shoot to understand what we liked and didn't like in those photos, and our wedding photos were even better. Highly highly recommend!

Crystal captured beautiful photos for our wedding. We ended up moving our date over a year early and doing a smaller wedding and Crystal not only accommodated the change but still made time for engagement photos as well. This was all during the spring and summer (a busy wedding season time!) She was professional but relaxed and captured our small intimate wedding perfectly. Her costs are reasonable but do no scarify any quality. I'd recommend Crystal to anyone on the hunt for a wedding photographer.

Wow! From start to finish Crystal was amazing. The initial phone call was so detailed- she left nothing out and made sure we had no questions. She was flexible with scheduling our engagement photos and even recommended the perfect location! If you're looking for an amazing photographer who is relaxed, has experience, and knowledge look no further. Crystal took our engagement and wedding photos. Not only were her photos amazing, but she is extremely responsive to messages and will even help you when planning your big day. It was important to us to work with a photographer who has experience with same sex couples, and Crystal and Casey did a great job capturing everything for my wife and I. Pictures were one of my top priorities for my wedding. I spent a lot of time reading through photographers and even contacting some. We had booked Crystal for our November 2020 wedding. However, due to various circumstances, the wedding was cancelled. On the bright side, we were able to have engagement pictures done. Crystal was extremely helpful with giving possible locations for the pictures. The day of taking the pictures, she coached us in what poses to display and made the entire experience wonderful and calm. Our pictures came out beautifully. I was in awe when I saw the pictures and truly loved all of them.

Crystal Image Photography is a dream come true! Every single photo we’ve seen from our wedding and engagement has been phenomenal. Crystal worked her magic with one reticent bride, two very different families, tons of friends, and even our two curious pups! Our guests loved the photo booth and they shared that the photographers were so natural that they didn’t realize they were working. Planning was a breeze, the client portal is easy to navigate, and the actual sessions flow naturally. Crystal is not the type of photographer to make things about her or about those trendy “must-have” shots, she really thinks about who you are as a couple and works with your personalities to set up shots. Additionally, as an LGBTQ+ couple, we were looking for someone who not only had experience with couples like us, but who would be excited to work with us and who understood the added significance of this moment for us. We were not disappointed! Overall, this experience has been marvelous and we can’t wait for our anniversary session in the spring. Thank you, Crystal, for making our day all the more memorable (and gorgeous)!

As mother of the bride, I was very happy with Crystal's ability to make the bride and groom comfortable with the process. Neither I nor the couple live in Virginia, so all planning was done by email, text, and phone. This was no problem for Crystal! She asks the right questions to understand the couple's vision for the wedding, and the photos to commemorate it. The engagement photos were amazing! But the wedding and reception photos were even better! She got all the right shots to put a smile on my face remembering the event! You'll be happy you chose her too!

You're freshly engaged and within a few hours of starting your planning you're already overwhelmed. But I'm here to tell you that you should start and end your search for the perfect photographer with Crystal. To say she brought out the best in us is an understatement. My husband is tough to get a real smile out of, but she managed it during both our engagement shoot and our wedding day. She goes above and beyond and just made us feel so comfortable. We even had an emergency venue change 24 hours before the wedding was to start thanks to Mother Nature bringing us a flood, and not only did she reply quickly that she would be at the new location without any question, she offered to show up early to help us given all the last minute changes and chaos. Talk about a great photographer! Our pictures are just what we wanted, she's amazing to work with, and you go from just having a vendor there to having a new friend in Crystal. I can't wait for her to be in the area next time so we can meet up for a drink and catch up. Crystal Image Photography is the right answer for a relaxing wedding day! Hire her!

Crystal is an amazing photographer and we are so happy she was our photographer for our engagement and wedding photos. Crystal and her assistant Casey were amazing and a blast to work with. They captured our wedding perfectly! They were professional, but personable. Our pictures came in on time and looked stunning. We wish there were more stars to give! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Crystal and Casey were amazing!! We could not have asked for better photographers on our wedding day! They captured our special day perfectly and with ease. They were amazing to work with and they captured the most beautiful photos!! I am still in awe with all of our photos and cannot wait to decide which ones we will print! They're all so good it's hard to make a decision so we will probably just print them all!!

Crystal and her sister we absolutely AMAZING!!! From the initial phone contact down to the very end of the night when my husband Matt and I got into the limo to exit, we were highly impressed with their professionalism and creativity!
