About this vendor
Das Bevo is a historic wedding venue situated in the heart of St. Louis, MO. Characterized by its Bavarian-style beer hall aesthetic, this distinctive property occupies one of the city's most iconic symbols; its decades-old windmill. Home to a selection of event spaces that highlight its German influence, the venue is an ideal place for marital events in the Gateway to the West. Your nearest and dearest will surely be delighted by its welcoming atmosphere and vintage charm. Owners Pat and Carroll Schushard invite you and your significant other to start your new chapter in a traditional-meets-trendy setting.
Constructed in 1917, this venue was originally known as the Bevo Mill. This windmill has long been a staple of the city, welcoming travelers and townspeople alike to eat, drink, and be merry. Upon arrival, your guests will surely be impressed by the building’s distinctive facade, featuring stone walls and flower baskets. Though it is defined by its classic German influence, the interior also boasts details inspired by 1920s speakeasies. This is exemplified by The Underground, a snug, low-lit event space nestled beneath the Bierhall. Ideal for intimate celebrations, the room boasts a prohibition-era bar and an inviting fireplace. Larger occasions can take place in the Bierhall, the venue’s flagship event room. It is replete with old-fashioned copper chandeliers and hand-carved details that hail from Paris. This old-time European vibe is also apparent in the Mill Room. Here, you and your loved ones are sure to be dazzled by the room’s hexagonal shape and Austrian tiled murals.
Suitable for several hundred of your friends and family, Das Bevo can provide the backdrop for your entire once-in-a-lifetime occasion. An on-site event manager will be present to make sure that everything runs smoothly. Each rental includes parking facilities, tables and chairs, and access to get-ready rooms. Whether you wish to host a cozy event atop the mill or an extravagant celebration in the Bierhall, the staff will strive to bring your ideas to fruition.

The team at Das Bevo was one of my favorite vendors to work with! The venue is cozy, clean, unique, and fit the vibes perfectly for our fall wedding! The servers were so attentive to my husband and me—always making sure our champagne glasses were full and offering us appetizers. The bartenders kept the drink line down all evening and the mango margarita (my signature drink) was delicious! My wedding coordinator, Brenden, couldn’t have been a better match for my planning style. Brenden was prepared, attentive, informative, and lightened the mood with his hilarious personality when things felt overwhelming. I can honestly say this was a dream venue to work with. No one was cocky or rude. We felt welcomed the entire evening. I never felt like I couldn’t get a hold of Brenden or anyone from the team—someone was always there to answer my questions and concerns. I highly recommend this venue, not just because it is a Saint Louis building, but because the people you will work with will make your wedding planning experience so enjoyable and fun! As a bride who wanted an elopement, I can honestly say I’d go back and do it all over with Das Bevo in a heartbeat!
Everyone we worked with at Das Bevo was excellent! Brenden was a joy to work with and our wedding went off without a hitch… we’d absolutely recommend using this venue for literally anything!
Das Bevo was the absolute perfect place for my wedding, especially since I chose to do a brunch and end the day earlier than most weddings. Being able to get ready and have my ceremony and reception all in the same place was wonderful. Brendon was a delight to work with throughout the planning process and was quick to respond when I had questions. When showing us around the venue he made sure to point out the best spots to pose for photos. He was especially helpful in making sure the bridal party knew what we were doing during rehearsal. No odd-angled arm photos for us! The beauty of the architecture speaks for itself and made it much easier in terms of decorating. Plus, some of the features like the gorgeous green couches and fireplace are great to include in the photos! There was a snafu with incorrect linens being delivered but Brendon saved the day with a quick run to Majorette for similar tablecloths and everything looked perfect. Throughout our day, Brenden and the rest of the staff was wonderful and prompt to addressing anything we needed all the way down to helping us load up our cars at the end of the day. The brunch buffet was delicious— we received so many compliments that our wedding was the best people had ever attended thanks to a great combination of timing, venue and food!
There are a few things with the facility that could be improved but they didn't impact my overall experience on the day. The lights in the vestibule where we had our table flickered constantly — probably a wiring issue. It would’ve been nice if less things were stored at the bottom of the Mill where we waited to walk down the aisle. The room is beautiful and would’ve been great for more photos but it was cluttered with sound equipment and miscellaneous decor. Upstairs, a few small trash cans would have made for easier cleanup. As a historic preservation professional I noticed some issues in the Mill that could be avoided with a little routine maintenance. Plaster is falling in a few places and some of the rooms and staircases had to be swept upon arrival. Keeping the Mill climate controlled as best as possible, including use of a dehumidifier, would help with the plaster failure. There were also a few spindles missing from the staircases and the gaps had nails sticking up— this was a big hazard for me as I walked through with my dress and veil. Overall, thought, I absolutely loved Das Bevo for my wedding. It was just perfect for this history geek!
Where do I start, Das Bevo was nothing but nice, orderly, and supportive of us as clients! We chose them in the beginning since they accommodate small and medium weddings (we wanted about 50 guests) and their space includes a ceremony room, a separate reception area, and tons of extra space and rooms to get ready in and take pictures in. For a wedding in February, it was wonderful to stay out of the cold all day.
We also chose Bevo for the fantastic architecture and details, along with the building's history. Truly one of a kind. We are so glad we stuck with them because of how they run the place. We had plenty of meetings close to the big day that really made us feel secure in our wedding day choices and timeline. We had signature cocktails to go along with our open bar. And everyone on the day of the wedding never hesitated to ask me how I was doing, if I needed anything, and just overall treated me like a princess.
Thank you for making my day the wedding of my dreams, Bevo. I worked with Cassidy mostly and she felt like a big sister through it all. I have only fond memories and good things to say. so happy I chose Das Bevo!
I loved having my wedding reception at the Bevo. The staff were super easy to work with and accommodated every need and wish we had.
I can not say enough great things about Das Bevo and the staff. My husband and I were married here on October 23. The venue itself is absolutely breathtaking. I had the Jess as my main coordinator and I could not have imagined a better person for the job. She was on top of everything for us, had the most organized and calming demeanor (even during the chaotic week leading up to the wedding) and always checked in on me. The day of our wedding we also had Cassidy as a coordinator. She was smiling the entire time and had the most positive attitude. I truly don’t know how these girls do it! But they are the best of the best. This was by far the COOLEST wedding venue, if I do say so myself ;) We ended up renting the underground speakeasy for a couple hours after our wedding ended, and it was well worth it. There was a cash bar downstairs and a small stage where we played karaoke and danced. All in all, I would recommend Das Bevo to all future couples looking for an amazing St. Louis wedding venue!
I loved getting married here! The venue is beautiful and the staff is very helpful and friendly. We were able to have access to all floors for getting ready and first looks which made it ideal for a large wedding party like ours! If I were to do the whole wedding over again, I would pick Bevo again without a doubt!
My husband and I got married last May in the pandemic. Das Bevo was supposed to be the location of our reception May 2020, but instead, it happened June 2021... honestly, I'm so glad it happened this way! Jess was my main coordinator, and holy crap did she come through majorly for us! She had us come in for our wedding day to take pictures in the empty hall since we couldn't have our reception under quarantine, at the time. (shameless plug to say, if you can take engagement photos or wedding photos here... DO IT! holy crap they're gorgeous!) Our catering didn't work out as planned for our reception, and sure enough, two weeks before the date, Jess put together a killer menu for us and had Das Bevo kitchen completely take care of us. They even took my husband's family saurbraten recipe and recreated it for the wedding. Wherever you do decide to have your reception, i hope you have someone who works with you half as seamlessly as Jess worked with us. She even went and picked up our wedding cake that morning! Honestly, my husband and I both have been going to Bevo for years and years, so we were already fans... but i never expected to cherish this place so much. I saw another reviewer say it feels like you're in Hogwarts, and honestly, yes. It is! It is worth a tour at the very least, and then decide if it's your vibe for yourself! We are completely satisfied with how our day went, and I'm eternally grateful for the support Das Bevo gave us along the way.
We had our wedding reception at Das Bevo, and I can’t say enough how much I loved it. The event coordinators were so personable and accommodating, which helped lower my stress level exponentially! The venue itself is stunning with its low hanging chandeliers and oversized fireplaces. You feel like you’re getting married at hogwartz! The fireplace and candlelight really made for a very romantic setting for our reception. I wish I could do it all over again. Highly recommend!
The moment we walked into Das Bevo's Bierhall for our tour, I knew it was the place we needed to have our reception at. It's such a unique and historic venue that you don't really even have to do much to decorate for your event – which was right up my alley! We had just over 100 guests, and the space was the perfect size for us, plenty of room for people to hang at tables, get a drink from the bar, or dance in the mill room.
Alyssa and Mo were super helpful and accommodating in the months leading up to our reception. We asked if they'd be able to supply some very specific plum brandy that my husband requested and they were able to source it and got plenty for us. Marianne was our day of coordinator and did a fantastic job of making sure everything was perfect for us. She was also able to put fire pits and heating mushrooms outside for guests that wanted to get fresh air.
Our guests raved about the location, how beautiful it was, and how much fun they had! The only thing that I think Das Bevo could improve on is the bar. I had a few people tell me after the reception that throughout the night that they ran out of mixers or that things weren't working properly. It seemed like everyone was served enough alcohol and still had a great time even if there were issues – so I don't think it's that big of a deal.
Check out Das Bevo if you want a fun, super unique venue that will wow you and your guests!
This place is absolutely beautiful and could have the potential to be one of the best wedding venues in STL. There isn't historic ambiance like this anywhere else. I am flexible and understand changes but my wedding coordinator left a few months before our ceremony/reception. This was after they told us the restaurant closed. That was actually a benefit because we had better food catered in at a much cheaper rate. However, what I am not flexible in is the upkeep of the property. The ceremony was May 24, 2019 and it was an extremely hot day. The area where the bride gets ready was over 100 degrees. And Bevo had no way to add fans or any AC to the area. The windmill itself had the same issue. We ended up moving chairs and going home for fans but the experience was horrible. The windmill needs some TLC. I understand you might not want to continue renovating because of cost but cover the ugly areas with curtains or card board so guests don't have to see it and pictures are easier to work around. I also had to ask them to clean up the area the night before when I did my walk through. If I hadn't asked, I am not sure it would have been done. I also had to ask them to mow the grass. But they did do what I requested. The windmill and biergarten was stunning. My guests raved all night about the experience. There just needs to be some cleaning and decorating completed outside. Nothing that would cost much. Some new strings of lights since half of them are burnt out and some sweeping/re staining on the patio. I still had a wonderful time despite the above and would completely recommend to everyone. I would just be clear on your expectations upfront going into it.
This should have been the perfect space for our wedding and reception and it started out that way. I had booked it primarily because it billed itself as full-service with a dedicated coordinator so that I wouldn't have to worry about too much. But in the end, due to a number of changes with the vendor, we worked with 5 different coordinators and so many things fell through the cracks that it was a disappointing and frustrating experience. It's no longer a full service space, so please know that if you opt for this vendor, you'll need to find catering, linens, and all other necessities. Work has been ongoing in the space, and some of the promised final finishes weren't completed in time for the wedding (like the bathroom upstairs in the bride/groom space), so there are still some rough areas. Communication was poor and changes were made without talking to us (like changing our bar package unexpectedly which resulted in us losing some of the craft beer we most wanted to serve). Overall, I was disappointed with the services provided (or lack thereof) and lack of communication. It's such a beautiful, historic space and it's a shame that I have to post this.
I was maid of honor in a wedding held at Das Bevo- I can honestly say it was a poor experience. Das Bevo is undergoing changes. They stopped functioning as a "restaurant" and left my sister stranded without a caterer for 4+ months, up until TWO WEEKS before the wedding. The wedding coordinator she had worked with quit without notifying her, and never contacted her again- again, leaving her stranded and without anyone to manage the event. Even the day-of coordinator was unhelpful, appearing unmotivated and they did not provide the equipment (candles, a microphone, etc) that they stated they would provide. The day of coordinator was very disinterested and seemed overall annoyed at our presence. There were so many headaches that could have been avoided. The wedding turned out beautifully because of some VERY hard working friends and family, not because of the venue itself. It was haphazard, disorganized, lacked in communication, and was overall a stressful experience. Please think twice before booking this venue!
I genuinely hope whatever is going on with this venue is resolved soon. It has been my dream to get married here, and all seemed to be going well with the event coordinator, whom I was in contact with. We scheduled a date to tour the facility. That day, she never showed, never called, but the next day emailed about an emergency keeping her from coming. Understandable, and we rescheduled. The rescheduled date came, and, again a no show. This time, there was no response to my emails and all contact has stopped since. This is such a beautiful and historic venue that I was really hoping would work out for us. If there is a good explanation, I'm happy to change my review. However, from our experience just trying to tour the facility, I felt the need to inform others who are trying to plan a wedding about the red flags we observed.
We had our wedding at Das Bevo just a couple weeks ago and it was fantastic! Our ceremony was held in the windmill and then our reception was in the mill room. It was perfect for our small intimate wedding. It was exactly what we wanted our wedding to be. Bridgette was helpful and easy to work with. In fact, the whole staff was friendly and willing to help out. Such a beautiful venue! As far as St Louis landmarks go, this one is hard to beat. Food was great and photo ops galore!!!
This venue is very special. Beautiful, unique and a great history. Bridgette was awesome, so nice, polite and was always willing to make everything as perfect as she could. I would highly suggest Das Bevo for your event.
The wedding held there last week was their first. It went pretty well but there are a few things that could be improved on. The lighting in the Mill, too much glare through the plain glass windows. Also, it was very warm, maybe ceiling fans or another a/c unit. The reception room was also very warm. The other thing was the Open Bar service. The waitress was totally overwhelmed. It was very chaotic and I felt bad for her. She could have used another person to help with a group that large. Also...the Open Bar drinks were so weak that many guests ended up going to the bar and buying their own drinks.
The food was very good. Fresh, hot and displayed well. Although more pretzels would have been nice.
Being the first wedding there it was all in all a great event. And Bridgette was very interested in any advice to improve their services. She really is a special person. Always smiling.
As I said before...I highly recommend Das Bevo for your event!
Wonderful wedding venue! We highly recommend it to anyone getting married in the St. Louis area. We could not be more pleased with our experience at Das Bevo! We had the small, intimate wedding ceremony and reception we had always wanted thanks to the exceptional Das Bevo staff. They always responded quickly and professionally to all of our questions, met with us multiple times to discuss wedding details and taste test for our menu. They were always very flexible and happy to accomodate our requests, allowing us to make last-minute changes up to a few days before the wedding.
The day of the wedding, they were very accomodating, professional and attentive. My husband and I loved the food! We received multiple compliments from our wedding guests about the food, drinks, wait staff and atmosphere. We also got some amazing photographs outside the venue with the beautiful wind mill in the background. It was a wonderful day we will never forget.
We look forward to returning to Das Bevo for future events to hang out with family and friends. It is such a great place, rich in St. Louis history. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!
Warm, welcoming, historic, beautiful! Das Bevo has successfully brought back a beautiful gem with a light-hearted approach to good, old fashion service with a smile along with a genuine appreciation of protecting and celebrating the history of the place.
We held our wedding ceremony and reception at Das Bevo and were ecstatic with the results. We had the ceremony in the biergarten and it was just beautiful. The reception was held in the lower level and the guests were impressed with the beautiful architecture and the food was to die for. The wait staff were wonderful. We are looking forward to spending our first anniversary hopefully in the bed and breakfast.
We used Bevo Mill for our wedding rehearsal dinner, and everything was perfect! The food was delicious, my husband and I received compliments all evening from our guests! The maître d' we worked with was very professional and courteous, he was wonderful at keeping the evening flowing according to our timeline. The room was charming and fit perfectly for our needs, some of our guests are from Germany and they loved the traditional decor. I would certainly recommend Bevo Mill for any wedding dinner or reception and my husband and I look forward to having a Sunday brunch there from time to time to reminisce. :) Married October 24, 2015
We could not have been any happier with our experience at the Bevo Mill. From meeting to view the space to our wedding reception, we were well taken care of. There was plenty of wait staff, the head tables were well attended to and everyone commented how wonderful of an experience they had. As an event planner, I am hard pressed to say I have ever attended a tasting and then had the plates/food look and taste as good at the event as they did at the tasting. This was the exception. Everything was as good, or better, during the reception than at the tasting. The staff at Bevo was attentive, able to answer questions whenever I had them and was very courteous to us and our guests. I would recommend them highly.
We used Bevo Mill for our wedding rehearsal dinner, and everything worked out great. The food was delicious , the staff was professional and very courteous, and the room was charming and perfectly fit our needs. I would certainly recommend Bevo Mill for any wedding dinner or reception.
We had our daughter's wedding reception at Bevo Mill. She wanted something different than the typical reception hall. The building is very unique and very beautiful. The wedding coordinator was great to work with and was always quick to answer my many questions, The food tasting where we would decide what to serve at the reception was a private full meal for the four of us (bride, groom, bride's parents) with the owner of Bevo Mill. We were served selections to choose from, which were all delicious and served on china, along with the wines that would be served at the reception.
As we approached Bevo Mill for the reception, it was exciting to see the windmill turning, as if greeting our daughter and new son-in-law. The staff greeted us warmly and were very attentive. The Maitre d' introduced himself to my husband and me as soon as we arrived and he asked us several times during the evening if everything was up to our expectations and if we knew of any needs our guests had. That was so nice! We didn't have to worry about a thing. Our guests loved that we had the Mill Room for dancing. That meant that the people in the main dining room who didn't want to dance were able to visit without the music being too loud, but could still hear the music. Everything was absolutely beautiful, the food was delicious and the choices different than typical wedding fare, the staff was wonderful and very attentive, making sure the day was just as my daughter imagined it would be. Our guests are still talking about the lovely evening, even though it was months ago. My daughter has told me many times that the reception was better than she even imagined it would be! Dreams do come true!
Absolutely loved this venue! The staff was great to work with. Very helpful and attentive to our needs. They even gave us a meal to take home along with a bottle of wine. The room was beautiful and very unique and intimate. We were also able to go up on the balcony by the windmill which made for awesome photos! The food was great and they had many options that weren't "typical wedding food."
I had my wedding reception at the Bevo Mill October 2015. I had many guests so excited to attend because it had been so long since they had been inside. Not only did everyone comment on the unique architecture and beautiful room inside, but many guests told me it was the best meal they had ever had. Not only was the food outstanding but so was the service. A waiter met my husband and I at the door and told us he wanted to make sure we were completely taken care of for the evening. He made sure we had everything we needed and were never without a drink. The wait staff were so helpful with everything, including cleanup at the end of the night. Milan, the owner and head chef, was so accommodating during every planning meeting and phone call. I am so glad we chose to have our reception at the Bevo Mill because I have no doubt that this was the most beautiful venue in St Louis and absolutely perfect for what we had envisioned.
Awesome venue with excellent food and professional and attentive staff. We had two rehearsal dinners at the Bevo and wouldn't think of going anywhere else.
Some of the best food I was ever served at a wedding. The staff was really attentive and the Bartender knew how to take care of her guests. From the Chef walking from table to table to inquire on all of our meals (which I have never seen before ) to each staff member coming by and telling us what was being served and asking if any of us had allergies or menu dietary needs....first class great place I enjoyed it and I still hear others talking about how good the food was....
We used First Impressions (Bevo Mill's catering business) as our wedding caterer, and they were INCREDIBLE. Milan, head chef and owner, gave us an amazing tasting and allowed us to choose every aspect of our menu. The food was so wonderful, and we heard nothing but glowing reviews from our guests.
When I got engaged I knew that I wanted the food at my wedding to stand out. I didn't want your typical blah wedding food that you eat at every wedding that has that same boring cafeteria taste, that people eat but really don't like! I wanted real, yummy food that my wedding guests would enjoy and also stay within our budget. Milan made that happen. I still get compliments to this day about the food we had at our reception! He made our wedding guests feel like they were being catered to eating at a 5 star restaurant. People remember because it was so good and such great service!
We tried a few of the popular "go-to" typical caterers before meeting with Milan at the Bevo. Let me just say that there was absolutely NO comparison! His tasting, the food, and presentation blew us away. Milan really is the best there is in this business! Thank you for making my wishes a reality!
This company thinks of everything you haven't even considered yet. Preparation and organization are top notch, and the food is simply second to none. The employees seen to actually enjoy their jobs, and it comes through in the product. There aren't enough stars to rate these guys. Excellent...
We used the Bevo Mill as our reception sight for our wedding in August. We wanted something different then the typical hotel wedding reception. When looking at reception sights the Bevo Mill was very easy to work with, they gave us a tour of the entire building, we were able to try the food we picked for the reception and were able to make changes all the way up to the week of the wedding. We were able to decorate the day before the wedding and the staff was very helpful. We had 160 guests and the rooms were pretty full. All of our guests loved the food, we requested the Italian buffet, which was seafood stuffed pasta and chicken parmesan. The Bevo Mill provided security for the parking lot and we had no issues. During the reception the staff was wonderful, the bartender was quick to provide drinks, the staff was quick to fill up water at the tables, and they were quick to take away finished plates. We also got some amazing pictures of us up in the Mill. This is the perfect place for a couple that likes historic buildings, and for the guests to always remember the reception! Thank You Bevo Mill!!
We have been invited by The Bevo Mill to write a review. We had a wedding reception here. The Bevo Mill is a beautiful, historic venue that was perfect for our event. When we arrived the evening of our reception, the place looked magical. The lighting and ambience of the place was perfect and so inviting to our guests.
The food was impeccable and we appreciate the attention to detail The Bevo Mill provided, making the dinner memorable and thoroughly enjoyed by our guests..
I caution the reader to be aware of the bar service. We paid for the Premium Bar Service. The brands used are specifically written on The Bevo Mill's website and information provided to its customers. However, the brands listed were not poured at the event. Brands from their listed lesser bar packages were poured. It is good advice at any venue to check out the bar before the event. Or just bypass this issue and have your dry wedding reception here!
My (now) wife and I were hosted by the Bevo Mill for our wedding reception in early June, and, from start to finish, it was a wonderful evening. The venue itself is the foremost reason we selected Bevo; it's absolutely gorgeous on a normal day, and for the actual reception itself, they really decked the place out (I would check out their website for fantastic examples from previous weddings held there). Also, for potential brides and grooms, I would suggest you arrive and hour or so before reception start-time to make use of the outdoor architecture - we got some very memorable shots out of it.
One option that Bevo presented us was the "sweetheart table," which situated my wife and I in front of the fireplace at our own little table. We had the option of the standard head-table, but we liked the more personal option that gave us some alone time and allowed folks to visit us at our little "thrones." Very cool setup.
The main room was able to accommodate just around 200 folks without fail or discomfort (with the added options of below rooms too, which was very pretty as well), and I've since been inundated with comments from family and friends alike on how enjoyable the evening was. I won't get too far into the specifics regarding the food, but needless to say, it was phenomenal, and we left for the dance floor feeling waaaay more than satisfied.
When throwing a reception, open bar always helps. Though the line looked long at times, the dual-bartender system (at rushes) never took more than a few minutes to navigate. Of course, as groom, I got to cut in line whenever I walked by (which is pretty sweet - sorry for the line jumping, grandpa). Of course, the waitstaff was always there to help too.
Price-wise, we were able price-out more expensive and less expensive venues, but it was a solid deal. It won't break the bank by any stretch of the imagination, .
Thanks to Milan, Morgan, Jaclyn, and the rest of the staff at Bevo for a great night. It couldn't have gone any better, and I'm sure we'll see you soon at brunch - and, hopefully, future receptions.
This venue is amazingly beautiful. It has a rich elegance that you don't find everyday. It has a lodge feel in the main dinning hall and with a smaller room that we used for a chapel attached. The small room, called the Mill Room, has antique green tile on the walls with murals and large windows. The Bevo Mill was built in 1917, so it is filled will historical touches; some beautiful, some quirky, but all interesting. There was also a basement with a large wooden bar in the middle of the room that we used for a cocktail hour while they were flipping the ceremony room into the dance floor for the reception. There are so many unique decorative touches that it transported the whole event to another era. The best part is I saved money on decorations because none were needed outside of the centerpieces for the tables.
The Bevo Mill provided an event coordinator who I worked with leading up to the event who is present the day of the wedding, so I didn't need to hire one on my own. I got to meet one of the owners, Milan, who is also in charge of the kitchen. His food is amazing and his goal is not only to please but to shape the food for your event and your tastes. The menu options available allow you to make your event as fancy or casual as you want.
The service was amazing. Before the event, there was always someone there to answer if I called and emails were responded to quickly. They were happy to work with me on any requests I made. They were more concerned with me getting the event I wanted than overcharging me on the little things. As for the waitstaff, I couldn't have asked for more. They were professional, polite, and efficient. They were especially kind to my husband and me, making sure we always had a everything we needed. The Bevo Mill is the perfect venue if you want to have a no-worry wedding day. I made all the decisions with my wedding coordinator before the big day, and I just got to enjoy my wedding and reception.
I will say that the Bevo Mill was the most expensive part of my wedding, but the prices were reasonable. I can't imagine pulling off the day without their help and expert advice. Plus, who wants a DIY wedding where you're the one checking that the bar is stocked or that the food is ready. I also had strong feelings that I didn't want to get married in a hotel banquet hall with no personality, and the Bevo Mill was the perfect alternative and does not lack personality.
I originally was looking at vineyard venues but many of them had limited capacity and outside only ceremony sites. The Bevo allowed me to have an indoor wedding and reception with beautiful decor. They also have a lovely patio area with plenty of tables and chairs, so it wasn't like my guests couldn't enjoy some fresh air when they wanted it. Their building's exterior made a lovely backdrop for family photos. We did have to watch how many people we invited. The main hall can seat 210 people for dinner, but the room we used for the ceremony isn't made for much more than 120 (not including those standing). I absolutely loved having my wedding and reception at the Bevo Mill. It was picturesque and somehow quaint and classic at the same time.
Wonderful people, ambiance, food, and décor! our wedding turned out perfect and we would recommend this to those keeping their wedding under 200!
We booked Bevo Mill for our rehearsal dinner. We met with Kristin, who was our point of contact throughout, beforehand and loved the space. The building is so unique and inside it's even more beautiful. She gave us a ton of information and even generated a ballpark quote for the dinner before we booked. After booking the venue, Kristin kept us on track for the months leading up to the event; letting us know when we needed to get information to her and what we could expect from them. Bevo Mill was adaptable as when our final number changed more than once in the last 2 weeks and was more than willing to go back and forth several times to nail down the final amount and set up a time to deliver payment. Kristin made sure we could make the final payment at our convenience even though she was out of town and we had the pleasure of meeting their friendly kitchen staff. On the night of the event, everything was ready on time, the night ran smoothly, and we had a great evening visiting with family and friends, many of whom we had not seen in a long time. The dining room and bar staff were friendly, professional, and the food was FANTASTIC. Dinner service timed out exactly according to the schedule we planned beforehand and it was perfect in every way. We would highly recommend the Bevo Mill for your rehearsal dinner or reception. We probably could have found a slightly better value elsewhere, but the historic building plus excellent service and great quality more than put them over the top. Five stars for sure!
The food, decor, and service were all amazing. The wait staff took care of all of our guests. Not to mention a heavy handed pour at the bar. The meal was fantastic, all of the appetizers were served fresh and hot. The main course was delicious with everything cooked perfectly. Not to mention the owner prepared a special hot potato salad, and he made sure that every single guest's meal was to their expectations personally. I couldn't have been happier with the service, the attention to detail, and the warm, inviting atmosphere.
The Bevo Mill has ridiculously good food. We chose the Italian buffet for our wedding and the lobster stuffed ravioli were amazing. We received many positive comments from our guests on the food. We had the wedding and reception at the Mill with the wedding in the small room in the side. The location was very lovely and they were flexible with our decorating and setup preferences. We have many wonderful photos of both the venue and the wedding. While we were expecting 80 people, about 100 showed up. (I wouldn't recommend having the wedding and reception both in the Bevo with more than 100 people as the small room gets quite cozy with everyone seated. It did feel pleasantly intimate though.) The venue was able to adequately accommodate the extra people though it did seem like it stressed out the staff a bit. The only thing that I would recommend is communicating the literary of the wedding better to the venue as it seemed we were always catching the staff off guard. There was not good communication as to when dinner would be ready or when we could cut the cake, and for some reason, it was difficult to find anyone to ask at those specific moments. There was plenty of staff around otherwise, and they were very helpful. The evening was wonderful, and there were no disasters at all.
We had a great experience at the Bevo Mill! It's so stunning, I would recommend it for a rehearsal dinner, or even the wedding for that matter- if the guest list is small enough.
