1000/10 recommend Decades to anyone getting married! Kale was amazing to work with throughout the entire process. He made things simple and answered all of our questions and provided us his advice— he even helped bustle my dress after the ceremony. We received SO many compliments from our wedding guests about the venue. The decor rentals and bar packages they offer are hard to beat! Our day wouldn’t have been as perfect as it was without Decades!

Had my wedding at this venue! That staff is so easy to work with. They even stepped up to be the event coordinator for the day of. This was super helpful, as there were points that needed a little help. This venue is the perfect touch of rustic and antique!! Definitely worth the tour to check this out!

From the first time we met with Kale we knew we had the right place. Kale was great at answering all of my questions and within a reasonable amount of time. Everything was perfect the night of the wedding and it was relatively stress-free for me, which was really nice.

If you are looking for the perfect venue for your event look no further than Decades. From our first visit with Kale, through the day of the event, and after our event he was helpful and made it as easy as it possibly could have been for us. Too start Decades has probably one of the most unique spaces you will find anywhere in Des Moines, just set up a visit and you will see for yourself. Second, you can do it ALL at Decades. We did our ceremony and our reception all at Decades and it made for happy guests and an awesome time. Third, you can't beat the location. Your guests will have plenty of hotel options in the area and won't have to travel far. Lastly, the staff at Decades goes above and beyond for you and your guests. Kale and his staff made our event seamless and amazing. He was there for any last minute question, hiccup (corrected all the groomsman pocket squares), or need that we had. He even had mints for the entire bridal party before everyone walked down the aisle! Not to mention his staff behind the bar is a blast. They were down to party with you and enjoy your night as much as you, not just serve drinks behind the bar (although they're great at that too.) We truly can't say enough about how great Decades, Kale, and the staff were. No written review would do them justice. All I can say in the end is if you're looking for the right place, look no further. Meet with Kale, book, and don't look back. You won't regret it. We absolutely loved this venue for our reception. The flow of the entire venue was perfect and it seemed very spacious for the amount of guests we had. We loved how the dance floor was right in the middle of the room and how the set up of the food went as well. This location is also great location for guest.

I had my wedding here mid April. I had to move venues due to covid & was super lucky that they had my date open. Kale was so awesome to work with! He is so nice & def knows what he is doing! They had just made a lot of updates prior to my wedding & the place looks amazing!! The location is great. I also loved the bridal/groom suites! 1000% recommend having an event here!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. My husband and I had our event here over Labor Day weekend and even got to include our cats in our wedding ceremony. Kale was the best and very easy to work with. He answered all questions, was super friendly and bubbly, but still genuine. Everything was perfect and he puts full effort to assure it goes as planned, even amidst Covid. Their bar staff was also super friendly and assured everyone was taken care of. Seriously no complaints. The venue is beautiful and rustic with the most adorable antiques to be displayed. They have an array of choices or you can do a mixture of styles. There’s ample parking and they are close to the art center for more pictures. If you want the least amount of stress and have a wonderful time, I would definitely book here!

We were consulted and given the option to make our space as busy or as simple as we wanted. We opted in keeping it simpler, but the space was amazing. We loved the size of the space and having our own spaces to get ready or retreat to. We were kept in the loop on availability and what we were to expect. This place made our special day so easy!

held our daughters wedding and reception here and it was amazing! During our first meeting with Kale we knew we wanted to book the venue and knew he would take great care of everything. He was very willing and quick to respond to my daughters questions and requests, never afraid to offer up suggestions to 'tweek' things. The facility is beautiful and so decorating was minimal. The day of the wedding the staff was amazing, we didn't have to worry that things were being taken care of. shortly before the ceremony my daughter was stressing and as soon as Kale arrived he calmed her down and took total control making sure everyone knew their place for the entry and when to enter. The flip was effortless, went extremely smoothly and quickly so our reception decorators could get right to work on table décor, etc. Highly recommend them!

Decades is a fantastic place to have your wedding! It’s vintage and beautiful and Kale is an amazing coordinator! He made sure everything ran smoothly and was exactly how I envisioned our day! He even went above and beyond and helped us bussel my dress when my sister was struggling to get it. Decades event center was the perfect spot for my wife and I to get married. Located perfectly in west des moines. Decades was clean, and wonderfully decorated. The bar tenders where spot on with the drinks and even kept up with the crowd. My wife was happy all night! Definitely recommend!

I was in a wedding on October 26th at Decades Events Center and I can’t speak highly enough of the entire experience! Not only did Decades, the owners and Kale, the events coordinator, go above and beyond for the couple, they all went out of their way to make sure the day went off without a hitch! From helping the couple decorate, to coordinating with other vendors as well as making sure the guests had a great time! The venue was clean, well laid out and restrooms were always stocked and clean! I felt safe and the bar was well stocked with anything you could ask for! I was overall very impressed and I highly recommend Decades!

Decades is such a beautiful venue, don’t pass it up! I attended a wedding there this last weekend and it was one of the best I’ve been to! The space is absolutely beautiful, the bartenders, the event coordinator Kale, and other staff were amazing.

Decades Event Center played a huge part in what made our day so friggin’ perfect. Kale and the staff were amazing to work with, and made the day a breeze. I’m a perfectionist kind of girl and very controlling, so having Kale being able to tolerate me and be patient was what I needed from a venue. They also do a great job of providing you vendor recommendations, as well as hotels which made our search time reduce a ton. The space is fantastic. We did a flip, and the change was quick to where our guests had zero complaints. My husband and I couldn’t have thought of any other venue that treated us as well as this venue did, and the place is just so friggin’ cool!

We had the wedding of our dreams here. We're a quirky couple and don't see ourselves in the winery genre of venues. Decades is covered in rusty treasures picked from all over Iowa. It's totally our scene. Our guests loved it too! We saw people walking around and taking everything in. My uncle even read all of the newspaper articles on the pillars HAHA! On the day of, Kale was our wedding coordinator and he helped make our day the best! Literally if we had a question of if something was possible, he was on it. On the day of our ceremony music person was ill, so Leila (she's also a wedding coordinator there) stepped in and helped out. We didn't even have to ask. She just did it because that's the kind of people they are. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

We're a LGBTQIA+ couple. We ran into some hiccups with vendors not wanting to be a part of our day. Their loss. Decades though!!! I can't say enough good things. They even had a massive Mrs & Mrs light up sign for us. If you're looking for an inclusive venue that's beautifully decorated and ran by the best two wedding coordinators...this is the place!

I am so glad that we booked Decades for our wedding venue! Our guests loved the vintage feel and the bar options. Everyone kept complimenting the decor and the car. The venue really made our wedding. The staff was great as well. Kale was so dedicated to making sure everything was prefect for us.

Decades was fabulous. The process was easy and they took such good care of us, especially by providing a coordinator at the event. The vibe of the space was perfect for us; it dresses up well with the lights and centerpieces, but is still fun and laid back with the great bar and rustic feel. And the price was great. We couldn't have been happier with it!

We absolutely loved the feel and staff at Decades. They are so flexible with vendors and bar service that it makes it easy to make your special day possible as you pictured it. Staff are always available via phone or ever stopping by the venue. Kale is a rockstar handling all of the behind the scenes work. We couldn’t have done it without him!

I mean, honestly, this place was amazing! From the barn door to the lighting to the new bridal room. We were absolutely happy about every detail of this place. DES MOINES' ABSOLUTE BEST! Our wedding was an absolute blast, and a HUGE part of that was because of Decades Event Center. Kale & his staff were beyond helpful and courteous, assisting us with every little detail from months away, down to minutes before to ensure our day went perfect! This is THE best place for a wedding reception or any type of special event! My daughter recently had her wedding reception there and it was everything we could have hoped for and more! It was fun, it was unique, it has all the character and atmosphere you could possibly imagine, and the staff is awesome! We had our daughters wedding reception here last night. By far the best place ever!! Attention to all details, hard working staff, great atmosphere. We had people all night complimenting on the venue and set up and decor. Literally the only thing we brought in was candles, baby's breath and table runners. This venue setup and decor sells itself. Between the lighting, sound system, awesome bar and the back lounge area where a few of my family members had to catch a few minutes of the Nebraska victory�everything was perfect!!!! Once the secret is out about this place it will be booked solid for years!!!!!

We had our wedding reception at Decades Event Center and I could not think of anything I would have changed! The venue is beautiful. I had my wedding there a week and a half ago. It was fantastic! Everything looked amazing and was set up perfectly. We brought in a few of our own decorations, but with the antiques on the walls and the great lighting, we did not have to do much. Decades worked with us to make sure we had everything we needed. Between Decades and our personal wedding coordinator everything went smoothly and I had to worry about nothing. Overall it was amazing!

We cant even begin to tell you how much we appreciate you making our day so special! Thank you so much for the gift basket, cake, and glasses. We are truly blesses and very grateful for everything you did to make sure our day was perfect !

I wanted you to know what a treasure you have in Kale Smith as your Events Director. Kale took care of our every request so professionally and efficiently. When our caterer didn’t perform as needed, Kale stepped right in and made things happen. People attending had no idea what chaos was corrected to make the meals happen smoothly. I tend to be a worrier, wanting everything to be perfect, and Kale put up with me and my questions with grace. Our event was deemed a success, thanks to the tremendous efforts of Kale Smith.
