Delta Hotels by Marriott Anaheim Garden Grove

To be honest, we would have to say that most of the night went well including the cocktail hour, management of the space, lighting crew, set-up and bar. Our Dedicated Event Manager Marla was responsive in communications with us and our coordinator. What they botched was arguably the most important part so our guests left our event still hungry. Servers brought out dishes before plating was completed. There was more food left in the kitchen that the servers refused to bring out even when our caterer and guests asked them to bring it out. The Banquet Captain claimed he was never told this which we find incredibly difficult to believe. Tables with younger guests seemed to be ignored. Some of the servers claimed to our guests that they didn't speak English. To add insult to injury, these same servers ended up eating at least some of the food left in the kitchen while some of our guests left early to eat elsewhere. Many guests complained of ripped chairs. Our Dedicated Event Manager was not present during the event though I was told this is their standard practice. The Food and Beverage Director Tod is not usually present either but he somehow thought it would be consoling to tell us that he went the extra mile for the other wedding event they were holding. Many things did not seem to be communicated to the Banquet Captain which probably would have been mitigated by the presence of Marla and/or Tod. As a final gesture, Tod offered to make it right with Marriott Rewards Points. We told him don't bother.
