Communication sucked and then told us things last minute when they should’ve been brought up when we mentioned what we wanted. Also took days for someone to reply back

it was absolutely stunning—like a dream come true! The venue itself is breathtaking and made for a beautiful backdrop to our special day.
However, there are a few things future couples should be aware of. The venue is strict about their contracts at signing and does not allow for much flexibility. Additionally, securing a rain or high-heat backup space (important for summer weddings) is not included in the base price and requires an additional fee. We also discovered several hidden costs throughout the planning process. Beyond tables and chairs, no rentals are included, so expect to budget for additional items. Moreover, the venue requires the use of their AV services, which adds another expense. As we went, we found a few other hidden costs that added up.
Throughout the planning process, we faced challenges with staff turnover and inconsistent communication. There were times when it was difficult to get timely responses, and we often found ourselves working with someone new. We also had to advocate strongly to ensure the terms of our contract were upheld, particularly when requesting an extension for setup time. Ultimately, we worked our way up the chain to a fantastic upper manager who resolved our concerns, but it took A LOT of persistence to get there.
That said, the day of the wedding was flawless. Everything went smoothly, and the staff on-site did a wonderful job executing the event.
Overall, while the venue is gorgeous and delivered on the day of, we recommend couples go in prepared to stay organized, advocate for themselves, and budget for any additional needs like weather contingencies, rentals, and required services.

The Botanic Gardens had been our dream wedding venue for 5 years, and Kindra and everyone at DBG made it come to life! The communication, timeliness, and professionalism of the team made us feel comforted through the whole process, and both of our walkthroughs were incredibly helpful. We booked the Annuals Garden and Pavilion, which was so lovely and picturesque for us and our 80 guests at the beginning of October. The space is visible to the public on one side, but after the event we realized that neither of us thought about that and didn't notice anyone stopping or gawking. The whole day went incredibly smoothly between setting up, photos, catering (we used Serendipity who are excellent and know the Gardens well), our ceremony, and breakdown. We were surprised at how reasonably priced everything was, and ended up right at our budget. We have already recommended the Botanic Gardens to other friends to consider for their wedding or hosting work events.

Kindra and everyone at the Gardens was so wonderful! She helped us with any and all questions we had, got us measurements of the space, and helped make our day amazing. The botanic garden is the perfect place to have a wedding! The Solarium is tucked away and feels so private and romantic. Guests were able to walk around before the wedding and during cocktail hour to enjoy all the beautiful spaces. They provided us with a getting ready room as well, which was a great space to sit down and have a moment before the ceremony.

We worked with Sarah Dickens to plan our wedding at the gardens. She and the rest of the team did such a phenomenal job helping us out throughout the process from initial booking to vendor contacts to last minute details. We really appreciated how much effort they put into helping make our wedding everything we wanted it to be.
As for the space itself, you really cannot ask for a more beautiful location

We are so happy that we chose the Gardens for our wedding. Most of our guests had never visited before and they were just enthralled by the grounds, and the Woodland Mosaic was the perfect venue for our ceremony. Our caterer Serendipity worked seamlessly with the Gardens staff, and for what it's worth, it was very, very cool to see the gardens transform after sunset! We have nothing but gratitude to the Gardens; from planning the event to the ceremony itself, it was quite literally a perfect day.

The Annuals Garden worked beautifully for our spring wedding! The tulips were blooming in early May. We did ceremony and reception in one place and it was pretty affordable and the logistics worked out great. Guests being able to park their cars overnight was great from a safety and logistics perspective. The amplified sound restriction wasn’t a big deal - we just had an acoustic musician for most of it and then shuttled to an afterparty location.

My husband and I have been visiting the Botanic Gardens for years and it was the only venue we wanted for our wedding day. The wedding day was everything we had hoped for and many of our guests commented afterward how beautiful it was.
We also knew ahead of time that we wanted an intimate wedding and the Woodland Mosaic and Solarium as our location. The weather was fairly warm on our date but our guests didn't feel it because the venue has lots of shade with the solarium and trees. It also felt like a more secluded space, which is something that we wanted. Our wedding date was a very popular Saturday in June, and I believe 5 other weddings were taking place at the same time! Because our location felt so private, we hardly noticed. The only exception being the "golden hour" for photography, where we were taking photos in the Japanese garden and carefully maneuvering around other couples also taking photos. If you want to be the only bride in sight, keep this in mind. We didn't care though.
Because we had such a small wedding (~40 people), we chose not to have a wedding planner or day-of coordinator. I would recommend one for this venue if you have a larger group or if you don't have a lot of helping hands. We had a lot of help from our families on the day of the event - helping set up things like the gifts/card table and brining in liquor in coolers. We also carried out a lot of items ourselves at the end of the night. This isn't a complaint from our end, as we expected to do some of the coordination ourselves. Just keep in mind that if you don't want to have to do anything on your wedding day, be sure to hire someone for that role.
Emily was great at coordinating from the Botanic Gardens side. She gave us helpful information when needed, responded quickly, and we also met her about a month in advance to walk through the site, going over details on things like chairs and tables. In addition, you get an hour walkthrough during the day before your event. On the day of, I booked a touch-up room (included in the price).
They have a limited catering list and we were happy to use Serendipity Catering for our food, bartenders, service staff, desserts and floral, which made coordinating everything a lot easier! I highly recommend working with Brie and Raven. Another perk of booking this venue is that you can bring in your own alcohol, which can save money. Negatively, it was a bit of work for our families to haul all of this in and out while in formalwear.
Depending on which space you book, you are also only able to have acoustic music. We wanted (and hired) a string quartet, so this worked for us. However, if you want to dance the night away with a DJ, you would need to book elsewhere for the reception or book their indoor ballroom.
The best surprise for us was a free couples membership for a year to the Botanic Gardens. We are so excited to have the opportunity to spend more time here, enjoying their many event offerings throughout the year. We can't wait to return year after year!

We had a luxury micro-wedding at the Denver Botanic Gardens using the Romantic Gardens for our ceremony location and the Solarium/Woodland Mosaic for the reception. The areas were absolutely gorgeous and helped create our dream fairytale wedding! The Denver Botanic Gardens is truly a beautiful landscape and venue to hold your wedding at! I cannot imagine having my wedding anywhere else after my experience here!

I recently had a wedding here and it was amazing! The gardens are such a beautiful venue and everything was great. We booked a year in advance and there was definitely transition in our point person. However, Sarah is the best person to work with ever. She was easy to communicate with and knew what she was doing. She was also available throughout the day and was asking if we needed anything throughout the day. I had a lot of fun and appreciated everything that was done with the staff!
I think this is a great venue for brides and grooms who are more flexible and less particular about things that they strictly want (e.g. Music, lights, alcohol, etc)

The venue itself is gorgeous! We got married in the romantic gardens and the scenery is absolutely beautiful! The photos we got around the venue were also stunning! Our guests enjoyed being able to walk around the gardens both before and after the ceremony.
The reason we are giving them only 3 out of 5 stars is because of their staff and day of experience. Not a great experience at all! In conversations prior to the wedding, our venue contact could not keep things straight. There would be multiple times in which we would have to repeat ourselves because there would be no attention to detail. For example, she asked me several times who our caterer was and I had to repeat that we were only booked for a ceremony. Then, on the day of the wedding, they definitely make you feel like you are just another wedding. It definitely felt like wedding-factory vibes. We had the space reserved from 11am - 2pm and the staff interrupted our photos at 1pm to tell us the next bride arrived early and that they needed us to move so they could start rearranging the chairs. They could not comprehend that we had the space dedicated to us until 2pm and that it was extremely inappropriate to even mention another bride to me on my wedding day.

Our wedding ceremony (10/1/23) and cocktail hour in the Annuals Garden and Pavilion was absolutely beautiful. The folks we worked with at DBG (Courtney and Kindra) were kind and communicative all the way through. We feel so lucky to have been able to tie the knot at one of our favorite places! We were a bit concerned at first about having to use DBG's preferred vendors, but Soundmaster Entertainment and Serendipity catering were both lovely to work with as well. We decided to have our reception nearby at the Space Annex due to DBG's sound policies meaning we wouldn't be able to keep doors open during dinner and dancing but were so happy to hold the ceremony at the gardens and to give our guests time to explore the beautiful grounds. One small note if you decide on the Annuals Gardens and Pavilion space (as might be clear in the photo) four guests seated on each side made the aisle a liiiiiittle too narrow to walk down comfortably (it made us laugh so it worked out just fine).

I am absolutely thrilled for renting the botanical garden for our wedding. We had romantic, welcome garden and marnies pavilion. Everything was so lovely! Courtney and Kindra were so easy to work worth. Our wedding 10/7/23 was a dream with all the plants and weather. We also choose this place as a non profit and can very easily return to the scene of the crime :)

We had such a great experience having our wedding at the gardens in August! We had our ceremony at the Romantic Garden, cocktail hour and dinner at the Orangery, and dessert and dancing in Marnie's Pavilion. Throughout the planning process, the staff were always easy to contact and quick to answer our questions. There was also a seamless transition between our first contact at the venue and Kindra, who was so awesome to work with during the last few months of planning. I have loved being able to tell people that I got married here and would absolutely recommend any area of the gardens for a wedding or other type of event.

What a great location to hold our celebration! We rented out the Orangery for dinner and Marnie's for dancing. There were plenty of places to take great photos. It was stunning, and we had a good amount of down time for people to wander the gardens in between activities. The Gardens were very responsive and supportive throughout the entire process. Would definitely recommend !

We had our wedding night 1 at the gardens in the annual pavilions. The gardens are absolutely beautiful. The entire staff was a pleasure to work with, something that we were worried about especially as we were hosting a non- traditional wedding event. Kindra from the botanical gardens was easy to work with and made sure that we were happy as well. We had a wonderful time with our guests, but the complete stand out was the service and vegetarian food from Rocky Mountain Catering. They were so attentive to our guests and accommodating. We had multiple allergies and cultural diets and RMC did everything they could to make sure our guests were happy.

The Denver Botanic Gardens were an absolutely incredible place to get married. Kindra was our point of contact and she went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding day was not only gorgeous, but also ran smoothly. She was on SO MANY email chains, and handled all of them well. She answered tons of our questions and coordinated with our vendors to make our day perfect. Kindra, thank you for everything you did to make our day so perfect!

We host our daughter's wedding at Denver Botanic Gardens in late February and everything was beautiful. We worked with Andrew from the inquiry through the 30-day walk though, he was wonderful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The day of we worked with Macey who was present ALL day long for us answering questions, running errands, etc. Willing to help with literally anything asked of her. Helped us make changes throughout the day as needed. And came up with some great ideas for flow and guest experience during the event. The entire DBG team was fantastic and we would highly recommend them for any event.

Our ceremony at the Woodland Mosaic and Solarium at the Botanic gardens was more than we could’ve imagined. They set up and tore down the space for us and the location was so beautiful on its own, we didn’t need any decorations so the day was very low stress. There was a room for the girls to get ready in on site which was very convenient. The lighting in our photos from the solarium is incredible! Highly recommend this venue.

I thought the Gardens would be too expensive and "that's where rich people get married, what a fantasy" but once we dug in, there are so many different spaces and size offerings that we were able to make it happen and it was incredible. Can't recommend enough. We chose September and the weather was perfect. Since the location is so scenic already, we spent almost nothing on decorations and just used the flowers from the wedding party as decorations at the reception (held elsewhere). It looked great, saved us lots of money, and was practically stress-free. The team was easy to work with and made me feel very seen. Again, can't recommend enough.

Venue is great, but the staff in place is not. I would say 8/10 that we emailed our point of contact we got an out-of-office reply with the suggestion to call the main line - who seldom picked up and never answered a single voicemail. It took up to a week to get a reply when we needed to sign our contract and pay our final bill. I understand being short-staffed, but then the Gardens needs to figure something out so that they can be contacted - especially if they can't reply promptly to you simply trying to pay them.
Otherwise, the venue was a dream. Gorgeous and well-sutied for weddings.

We were looking to have a small outdoor wedding, and were looking at all the possibilities Colorado has to offer, and frankly there are a lot. The botanic gardens appealed to us for a lot of reasons. There are clear and clean paths to and from the ceremony point so people with disabilities were easily able to attend, you don't need to bring in a florest because nothing could compete with the gardens themselves, and we wanted a small gathering that wasn't overwhelmed by the size of the venue. The botanic gardens has several options on where to hold the event so you can pick by size. We love the water gardens and that accommodates 30 people, so it was perfect. We also only wanted to do the ceremony there with the reception at a nearby restaurant, and the gardens had plenty of options on how long the ceremony could be and price breaks to reflect that. On the day they had a room for the bride to set up and get ready in, chairs and a table for our unity candle was provided, and signs pointing out guests where to go. Everything went prefectly, and afterwards we were able to take wedding pictures throughout the gardens, which all turned out lovely. This venue was top notch, A+, 10/10, and I would recommend it to everyone

Our wedding venue was absolutely gorgeous, however, the logistics and sound was a nightmare. Hire your own wedding planner to get things done is my best suggestion! The weekend of our wedding we were finally responded to by their preferred AV vendor, that he wasn't available. We had been led to believe in the months leading up to our big day that sound was not an issue and they could do it internally, if worst came to worst. Well.. worst did come to worst. It sounded terrible and cracked the entire time I walked down the isle. I would have 100% preferred to go without any sound as it literally tainted the entire ceremony for us. When I called to discuss this I was told that it was our Aux cord that was the issue LOL...We payed $350, on top of everything else, and they can't provide an Aux cord.. or at least test a song or two to make sure it's working? Even if it was the Aux cord.. this should have been mentioned wayy before the day of our wedding. I was also told after our wedding that sound is typically booked 6 months in advance! Again... this was never made to be a point of contention to us prior to booking. Biggest takeaway is that they do not care if things go according to plan, or are up to your standards, the day of your wedding. The staff is really only there to book and bill your wedding. Hire a Wedding Coordinator to make sure things like this don't happen to you and that you have an advocate on your side!

We rented out 3 locations for our wedding day; Romantic Gardens for the Ceremony, Annuals Gardens for the Dinner, and Marnie’s Pavilion for Dancing. All of these spaces looked gorgeous for our June wedding. If booking, I’d take note of the specific sound policies that limit the plans around the reception and playing music for dancing.
Additionally, while everything worked out in the end, it was very challenging to stay in contact with their event coordinator who would take nearly a week to respond to each e-mail. I will add that her job couldn’t have been easy with all the rescheduling during the pandemic, but it added a significant amount of stress being out of contact as we waited for answers regarding guest count limitations, mask guidance, and food serving policies, which were in constant flux the week before the wedding. The week of the wedding, I was asked to provide a list of all my guests and their vaccination status. Not only was this a challenging task to stack onto the week of wedding preps, but it was also extremely awkward.

We had the most beautiful, dreamy, etherial wedding in the Woodland Mosaic Solarium at the Denver Botanic Gardens. It felt so romantic and peaceful and perfect for our 40 person wedding. Danae was so great with helping us with details and worked with our vendors. This was the absolute wedding of my dreams and wouldn't change a thing. The Denver Botanic Gardens was the ideal venue for our wedding. The combination of the beautiful scenery and the prompt and supportive staff made our special day flawless.
Our wedding was only a couple of days after the early freeze in September which could have very easily wiped out the flowers prior to our wedding. However, the grounds keepers and gardeners were able to maintain the liveliness of the gardens.
Through the planning process, Danae was nothing short of amazing. She was timely, flexible, and easy to work with, always ensuring that our needs were met and everything was squared away.
The audio was supported by the Botanic Gardens and all the music, microphones and timing were prepared and operated as planned.
I can only highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for the perfect place to celebrate a marriage.

The Gardens have a very special personal meaning to my husband and I, so we were very excited to host our wedding here in May 2020. COVID made travel impossible for many of our guests at the time, but the Gardens staff and especially our wonderful venue manager Danae were extremely flexible and helpful with making accommodations as the date changed and situation evolved. We were upgraded for free to a larger (even more gorgeous) venue to allow for social distancing with our 40 guests, and the Gardens staff was exceptionally helpful, and professional for the whole process. This is not an inexpensive place to host your big day, but it's worth it for the care you will receive and to have one of the most beautiful wedding days Colorado can offer!
A word of caution - the Gardens limits which preferred vendors you can use for catering/bartending due to the sensitive environments in the park, so be prepared to self-cater (which we did), pay an extra fee to use a non-preferred caterer, or pay top dollar for one of the preferred vendors!

Our wedding in the Romantic Gardens was stunningly beautiful! Our guests raved about the setting. The pictures and video are incredible. We had our reception in the West Terrace, keeping everything outside during COVID. The gardens have lots of rules so be aware and read the contract. It will add some expense to your wedding but it will be unique and special. Guests get all day access to the gardens to several of them enjoyed that. The gardens itself are beautiful, but the staff and communication are what make this venue a one star. We worked with Elanor and it would take 4 follow up emails to hear back about a simple question. Sometimes we even had to loop in the venue manager to get an answer (Most of the time actually). We even had to email them for almost 3 weeks to get them to TAKE OUR CHECK, to pay for the venue. Shouldn’t that be the easiest part? Really bad. Our event coordinator didn’t even make our walk through. They let us know they would be there during set up for any questions. When we got there and my day of coordinator had questions, they event staff WERE NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. It would take around 20 minutes for my coordinator to get a hold of them and when we communicated with them through the walkie talking to get assistance for our elderly with the golf carts it took 30 minutes for them to come around. Isn’t part of what we paid a decently responsive team? It’s sad when your day of representation can’t get a hold of the event staff at all. I know this isn’t a one off experience because I bought some second hand items from a bride who had her wedding there and also had a terrible customer service experience. Lastly, the staff didn’t turn on the AC in time and out cake started to melt. They told us to put our other cakes in the brides room because someone else’s cake melted the other day. They provided no refrigeration for our cakes even though they knew that cakes melted in the past.
All in all this venue would be perfect if they just hired better and more communicative people. Pablo was great though, if you have the option… work with him.

This venue is spectacular.
Beautiful views, flexibility for ceremony, reception, cocktail hour, etc. Bridal suite and grooms suite included.
Our wedding was at the Green Farm Barn, ceremony was just to the side of the barn and dinner was on the lawn with yard games and dancing on the patio. (Perk is the barn was our Plan B if weather didn't want to cooperate!)
Everything worked out so well.
The only reason 4/5 stars is that the venue has some pretty strict rules: must use their vendors(or expect a per person penalty $), decoration limitations (flame, stakes in ground, confetti not allowed).
The points of contact for the venue left a lot to be desired. They are very nice, but very busy so many times days goes between responses or plans fall off the radar if you don't follow up and confirm schedules with the points of contact at the Gardens. This is also a very busy venue, weddings Friday/Sat&Sun during peak season along with other events, etc.
I would do it all over again at Chatfield Botanic Gardens, though!

We were married at the Botanic Gardens at York Street, and had a ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner all outdoors. Everything went without a hitch - and we loved working with Thomas who helped coordinate the timing and many of the small details we wouldn't have known to think about. Our guests continue to rave about the venue, the beautiful sunset and the weather which thankfully was not too hot with some cloud cover. Although there were other guests around (and we had some difficulty finding privacy for a first look), the gardens are big enough to where you can find spots throughout the day and evening to sneak away if you want more pictures without others in the background. Highly recommend!

My daughter was married at Chatfield last weekend and the wedding and reception couldn't have been more perfect. The staff were responsive and helpful from the initial tour to the end of the reception. The ceremony took place at the Open Air Chapel, the reception at the Deer Creek Stables, and the dancing on the Prairie Garden Terrace. The setting, gorgeous landscaping, and fairy lights in the trees around the dance floor made it all magical. On a more practical note, there are nice bathrooms with handicapped access, which was important for one of our elders. We appreciated that one of the security guards had a bottle of bug spray that he offered around, since there were some mosquitoes in certain areas. Chatfield provides a list of approved vendors that are required. We were actually very grateful for that, since it reduced the vast universe of options and guaranteed that everyone would be familiar with the venue and its rules. Preparing a full meal without a catering kitchen, for example, requires special equipment and skills. We were delighted with all our vendors and many guests said that it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended.

We had a fantastic experience with the Chatfield Farms venue and team. As the bride, I received numerous compliments on what a gorgeous venue it was and how lucky we were to find it. The venue itself is stunning-- all the natural greenery and flowers makes for cheap and easy decorating! We specifically were married in front of the aspen grove at the edge of the main lawn and used the Deer Creek Stables for our reception. The stables kept us protected from weather and provided plenty of space for a 60 person dinner and dance floor (and cocktail hour on the patio!) The trees are lit at night, making the most magical setting for pictures, cake cutting, and mingling with friends. As far as the events team at Chatfield, Brittany was a pleasure to work with. She was available to answer all of our questions leading up to the big day and at our walk through, and then day-of, our wedding planner said she was easy to work with and accessible throughout the night. They take care of ceremony chair set up and have a variety of tables that can be used for the reception as well. Having access to a beautiful venue that allows couples to bring in their own beverages, pick from a wide range of catering teams and other vendors, doesn't have taxes and fees-- everything about this venue is a win-win! We would HIGHLY recommend Chatfield Farms for a wedding/reception.

We had our wedding on June 1st at the Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms - specifically at the Deer Creek Stables. The location was gorgeous and the events staff (Brittany and Eleanor) met all of our expectations from the original showing to the walk through to the day of our event. We had many notes and special requests, and they accommodated each of every one of them. From setting-up and arranging our ceremony chairs perfectly for our wedding of 56 guests to always being present whenever needed during our ceremony and reception for any problems we needed fixed, they were stellar. With another wedding the same day at the nearly Green Farm Barn, we were so happy that the assurances in our earlier meetings that we would not even know they were there came true! We paid for a quality experience at the Chatfield Farms and this venue certainly delivered it! As a groom, I was thrilled that they made this day so special for my wife and I!

We had our wedding June 1 at the Chatfield location. Yes, the gardens are gorgeous, but the events staff fail miserably at anything passing for competence. First, despite scheduling the walk through with Brittany, she did not attend it. Eleanor did. Second, despite our discussion of the chair number and arrangement for the ceremony (and explaining how important it was that my wedding of 60 not be swamped), they put out more than 120 chairs. Thus, not only did Brittany fail to attend, she failed to read the notes from the meeting. Additionally, the day of, not only was the cooler not running in the yurt for the groom and his men, but there were no working lights. When we asked the gardens staff if any one was around from events (we could not find them in their office despite it still being well before 5:00), the answer was no and no one was available to fix the problem. They did give us a business card. Our music was drowned out by the pulsing, sometimes profanity-laced music from the other wedding that day (despite assurances in our earlier meetings that they monitor the noise level). The restroom in our reception venue was never unlocked by staff. Brittany and Eleanor who were supposed to "tag team" the event were no where to be found. When we expressed our concerns, we were first assured that someone would be in contact (they were not). When we reached out and made contact, they only blamed the other wedding as having required too much of their attention (i.e. folks in trees and the like). Apparently the fact that we also paid for a quality experience (and deserved, if not the experience, compensation) did not seem important to them. Stay away unless you plan to be the crew climbing the trees!

We had our wedding at Chatfield Farms and overall the day was magical! We utilized both the both "barns" for our event because of snow/rain, and they were both beautiful and comfy enough for our party of 115 guests. Pablo was so friendly and helpful, as well as flexible as weather threw our plans. As an out of state bride, he and his team made the planning easy and almost stress free (as much as possible). Biggest complaints- because of front, the flower pots were covered with huge tan covers, and these eyesores were in several pictures sadly, I would have loved to have them removed for a few hours. Also, we didn't have as free rein to take pictures in as many spots as I had planned. Overall though, beautiful and affordable venue! Check this place out!

We loved having our wedding here. We hosted our ceremony and reception there. It's beautiful, you hardly have to decorate because the natural beauty is amazing. They are very organized, very responsive to communication. Everyone had a great time!

We got married last weekend at Chatfield Farms. Elanor has always been so communicative throughout the whole process. The barn was the first venue we saw and we put our name down and looked at many other venues that didn’t come close in terms of quality and price. Elanor was so great to work with and we appreciated having her as our point of contact from start to finish. The logistics of the day went incredibly smoothly, and we are so grateful to Elanor and the whole team at Chatfield for that. Our guests also raved about how gorgeous the venue and backdrop were, but of course we already knew that! We got married in the field in front of green farm barn, and it was the perfect backdrop! Thank you so much to everyone there who made it a success, especially Elanor! Also highly recommend the ponds further beyond the barn for photos!! So gorgeous out there!

This venue was absolutely gorgeous! We barely needed any flower decorations as the venue naturally provides them itself. The back drop of the outdoor chapel was also stunning! To be surrounded by the mountains in a grassy green area with a beautiful pergola was more than I could have imagined! I can't say enough about how beautiful the grounds are! Not to mention, the big tree in the middle of the dance floor/deck lights up at night and it was absolutely perfect! It made the whole night seem even more magical! The event managers here are also very helpful. They worked to get me exactly what I needed and explained things so that it was easy to understand. I recommend this venue to anyone!!

We had our wedding at Chatfield Farms and it was a dream come true! We got so many compliments on how beautiful our ceremony was at the Open Air Chapel and the Green Farm Barn was a perfect place for our indoor/outdoor reception. It fit in beautifully with our boho/garden themed wedding and couldn't ask for anything more. Pablo was wonderful and very responsive in answering all of our questions. I would highly recommend this venue for a more relaxed but gorgeous wedding!

We got married at Chatfield Farms. The venue was beautiful and everything we imagined as far as looks are concerned. However, in our year and a half engagement and since we booked, we went through three different venue event coordinators. The first two were great, and the most recent was horrible. Pablo forgot about important conversations and details within a week’s time and was so difficult to work with because of that. His lack of customer service and communication skills is truly shocking for someone who works in hospitality. For our ceremony, we requested 48 chairs. The venue set up 100 and told our privately hired day-of-coordinator and parents that it was heir problem to deal with—aka put away all of the extra chairs and figure it out.
Please, do not have the same experience we had. Take your money elsewhere. Yes, the venue was beautiful. But the people are horrible to deal with. Go somewhere else—there’s lots of beautiful places in Colorado.
I would give this review one star, but the second star is for the beauty.

We had an absolutely beautiful wedding ceremony at the Woodland Mosaic in September. I would highly recommend that location and it's hard to beat the cost of the botanic gardens. We started planning with the Gardens about 10 months before our wedding and I loved the woman that helped me, Amanda. However, by the time our wedding came around, she had moved on and I was really frustrated with the communication and support I received in the two months leading up to our wedding. It took two to four days to get answers to small questions (e.g., what can a flower girl toss?) (answer: nothing). It's impossible to reach anyone at the special events office via email or phone. My phone call and voicemail was never returned, instead, the person helping me emailed me back after a few days. If I call, extend the professional courtesy of calling back. I was anxious in the weeks leading up to our wedding and I felt the service at the Gardens made my wedding anxiety worse. Trying to coordinate multiple vendors and determine final details would have been so much easier if the staff could manage their email! I also felt that the rules changed between when I signed our contract and when we actually had our wedding. The information I was provided was "being updated" but it's not clear when new rules take effect. So, we would probably chose to book the Gardens if we did it all over again, but I would recommend two things: (1) use a wedding planner to coordinate with the Gardens and (2) ask if the rules are current and when they might change. If there is something you really want for your wedding, make sure you ask if it's allowed when you are interviewing and get it in writing. (We didn't have a reception at the Gardens, so didn't have any food, drink, or catering - so much easier!). Benefits: we didn't have to do any decorating and our damage deposit was refunded quickly.

The Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Farms is a beautiful venue. However, from my experience thus far, I would not recommend anyone host an event here, as their customer service is absolutely horrible. I completed an online inquiry at the beginning of July. After over a week of not hearing anything I decided to call the venue directly to try and set up a visit. We set up the visit for the last week in July and we were extremely impressed with the facilities, despite the fact that Haleigh forgot we were coming and had double booked herself. After a short wait, Sarah was kind enough to show us around and go over options. She stated she would be emailing me more information the following day. I never received that email.
Again, despite this, my fiancé and I were ready to book a date for both our wedding and reception. I emailed Haleigh two days after our visit with our top choices for dates and again, never heard back. My multiple calls and voicemails went unanswered over the following weeks.
At this point we had no choice but to look into other options (which worked out because our location is AMAZING!) But obviously Chatfield Farms is not concerned with customer service.
The best part was, nearly 4 weeks after our site visit and 6 weeks after my initial inquiry, I received a copied and pasted generic email responding to my online inquiry and offering to set up a site visit.
As I said, the venue is beautiful but beware of their lack of communication and customer service should you decide to host an event here.

We were married August 2017 in the amphitheater tent (the large, long tent that is set up during the summer months). It was a beautiful location for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Our guests loved being able to walk around the gardens.
However, I think the gardens needs to reassess their facility rental policies, especially if they are promoting weddings at their venue. Weddings are celebrations, and you can expect them to be celebratory. There are lots of restrictions in the contract, and if you have any creative ideas, I suggest you ask before getting too far along into the process.
We were allowed only 30 minutes of amplified sound, for which we had to pay $650 by using the company they have an agreement with. Absurd price, don’t you think? We requested more time and were given the “good news” that we were allowed an extra 10 minutes for “spoken word”. Evidently, they would have just faded the sound out if our 40 minutes were up. We used part of the time for our ceremony, and then cut some reception speeches out to prevent this from happening, which was quite a disappointment.
They also don’t allow most of the typical send-offs, and even the other creative ones we came up with instead. We ended up handing out bubbles, which actually turned out nicely. It seemed like the two venue sales associates we worked with were really intent on making sure we had a tame event and more interested that we follow all the rules rather than enjoying our time.
We had a string quartet for the ceremony, a harpist for the cocktail hour, and a 4-piece string jazz band for the reception (two guitars, stand-up bass, and violin). Yes, amplification would have been nice for the reception, but the cocktail hour and ceremony were quiet enough that everyone could hear the music.
The bridal dressing rooms are classrooms in the basement, so expect cement walls and fluorescent lights—not ideal. The room they sent us to at the front desk wasn’t even unlocked and the staff member we had been working with didn’t show up until late, so we took another open room.
It was nice that we were able to choose our own vendors, and bring in our own alcohol.
The gardens are beautiful, of course, especially in August, and the tent was perfect in that we had no worries about the weather. I loved our wedding day and had a lot of fun, and I think all our guests did as well. I just think if you’re going to be handing out brochures for wedding venue space, make sure you take into consideration all that weddings entail.
