Edgemont Caterers the venetian room

I held an event at this venue, and was more than pleased with the entire experience. From the first time I spoke with event coordinator, up until the completion of our event, I knew I made the right choice. The pricing is reasonable, the staff is friendly and helpful, the venue itself is STUNNING, and the food was so delicious. All of our guests were complementing the evening and what a fabulous experience they had. Edgemont was the perfect choice and I would recommend them to host my family and friend's events.

Edgemont is the absolute best priced place around! Great value for what you get, and the staff, including the owners, are so kind and personable that even my guests complimented the service at our wedding. I do have to say, though, that we did have some communication issues, so here are some things to keep in mind: Pros: -BEST pp price; included just about everything! (cake, champagne toast, chocolate fountain, 3 entrees, open bar, etc) -Venetian room is nicely decorated inside with vintage-looking pieces around (very cool). The previous color scheme was poor (maroon red!), but they’ve since changed it to a nice pearl white, which fits much better with other wedding colors -Staff was wonderful with our guests -Delicious food & drinks (we recommend the stuffed shells); appetizers were OK, but the mixed alcoholic drinks were awesome -Even more delicious desserts! -Complimentary champagne toast was a great touch -Included a yummy cake (from Oteri’s Bakery). We had 3 tiers total, & the 2 top ones had chocolate & vanilla filling (ask to sample!), but no one got to try it because our caterers only cut & gave out the bottom tier. :( BUT - Edgemont did box up pieces of cake for us & our guests, which was great! -Choice of buffet OR sit down (great to have both options!) Cons/tips: -A bit of poor communication & forgetfulness on their part before the event (they told multiple other brides very last minute that they needed to send their insurance or they wouldn’t have their event; they also asked me multiple times for mine when they already had it) -They could be a bit unprofessional at times with the planning aspect & are VERY hard to get in touch with (they don’t use email) -When you schedule an appt with them, be prepared to wait. They always scheduled us with multiple couples, so we had to wait half an hour plus each time -Seemingly poor communication between the 2 planners, as we heard a few times, that we “must’ve talked to the other one” -We, along with other couples, were frustrated to find out that they took out a huge part of the dance floor & failed to notify anyone; they carpeted the space, so the remaining spot to dance was smaller -Not much flexibility with set up (they changed the original set up, which we had already planned around, and they were really reluctant to work with us on it) -Parking is inconvenient and limited (and even the surrounding row homes get irritated with Edgemont guests for taking their parking). Do not book before requesting their valet service -Parking at their chosen cake place (Oteri’s) is also rough, and keep a lookout so you don’t miss it because it’s a small lot! -Bathrooms are small. Not easy with a poofy dress! :P -Headcount minimum was a little high, so we were forced to have it on a Friday (lower minimum). Also, plan for 8 max at a table. 10 is just too crowded unless you aren't dancing. In short, you often get what you pay for, but here you do get WAY more! :) In terms of planning, communication was tricky, so just make sure to go to a tasting, keep copies of everything (including your vendors’ insurance), & ask for clarification. Otherwise, this place is a gem, and we had a great wedding there. I absolutely would not have changed booking with Edgemont!

Edgemont was a great place for the reception. The food was terrific, and the price was just right. The only problem is parking.
