We went with Embassy Suites for our 20 year wedding celebration and had a great time. Our guests loved the food (beef tenderloin especially) and the staff was quite accommodating (shout out to Jennifer Poe for enduring our ever changing requests, she was great). The only thing we would have changed was to put a microphone on the pastor. The ceremony was in the atrium and the white noise/music along with the waterfall made it tough to hear the pastor. Really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely use them again.
My husband and I booked our reception over a year out from our wedding. This was probably our first mistake. The Embassy had renovation plans that we were told would be finished April 2015 (married November 2015). I was happy enough with how the hotel looked as it was but the promise of a freshly renovated hotel was exciting. We were also promised 2 nights comped in a presidential suite for booking our reception with them. Our banquet manager left the company so we had a new guy to work with. He was very nice and helpful but when we went to meet with him for the first time we found out the the main atrium area would not be done in time now. but told the rooms and the ballroom would be completed still. We also met with the roomblock people and told we'd have to pay for the night before the wedding but only 150 of the $400+ room. I was annoyed but just accepted this until they didn't book the room and I went to correct this and was told it'd be $200. I got angry and confronted them about getting so many different answers and thankfully we had emails from the original guy promising us this so they ended up giving us the room both nights for free... or so we thought. a week before the wedding I find out the ballroom hasn't been touched, all the presidential suites are under construction so they put us in a renovated normal suite. It was nice but not what we were promised when we chose this venue. we arrive 2 days before our wedding to find that the hotel in mid construction and you could tell.. 2 floors were tarped off, places where plants used to be in the indoor landscaping there were just open holes. We were extremely disappointed.. to the point that my husband broke out in hives he was so upset with the state of the hotel.
They did give us a little bit of a discount and a voucher for 1 night in a pres. suite to use in the future. When this hotel is finished I'm sure it will be beautiful and the staff is very nice but there was nothing they could do at that point to fix the embarrassment of the hotel. They should have told us months ago that it would be in this condition so we could have found a new venue.
We used Embassy Suites because of the proximity to our venue, ability for sharing rooms with many people, and the shuttle we were told we could use to transport guests to and from the venue. When we booked, we were told the hotel would be renovated by the time we had our wedding; it wasn't, but this wasn't a huge deal. We were more disappointed by some of the staff. We were having a big(ger) wedding with lots of out of town guests, but when we asked for 50 rooms, we were told we wouldn't need that many. Well, we booked 20, then 30, then 40 and then were told there were no more rooms available. In addition, we were told they would keep the hotel bar open as long as there were people buying drinks, but they ended up closing even though we had at least 20 people in the bar area. Also beware - the shuttle is just a 18 passenger van, not the best choice for ladies wearing formal dresses. Rooms were nice enough, though, and the front desk folks did a good job with our guests and handing out the welcome bags.
The Embassy was very accomodating and helpful to our guests! The breakfast was perfect and everyone enjoyed it!
I was very disappointed with the reservation staff at the ES - Blue Ash. My cousin's reservation was deleted and he had to wait 45 mins - 1 hour until my mother arrived to resolve the situation. Upon her arrival, she discovered that one of their rooms had also been taken off the room block. One family member had to move to 2 or 3 different rooms during his 5 day stay at the hotel, because of the mix up. Some guests told me after the fact that their rooms were dirty. There are some positives, though. The restaurant / bar staff is amazing. Betty Jo, the bartender, has a great knack for remembering names. Lynn and Bernadette were delightful. Unfortunately, the front desk staff detracts from the good things the restaurant / bar staff has going for it. During my initial encounter with one Front Desk staff member, Lamont, he told me, "It's my last day on the job," and followed up that sentence with a "not my problem attitude." The Front Desk Manager Jason was completely indifferent about the deleted rooms and multiple moves. All of this, even after I explained that I spent 1 hour 45 mins at the hotel (1 week before the wedding) fixing all the mistakes that were present on the room block list. That was just to square away hotel rooms and reservations - Nothing else! I spoke to various managers and minions and no one seemed to be bothered by the lack of organization, correct booking, or any other concerns I had. All of my guests paid the full price for their rooms; no one even received so much as a free drink ticket for their troubles. (Seriously, my guest had to move from room to room, because you guys deleted his room the week before the wedding?! And no one thought to offer him a discount or free movie or something?!) I'd eat at the restaurant or drink at the bar, but that's about it.
The indoor plants in the atrium and the river w/ fish and turtles. The hospitality rooms are good for rehersal dinners and you can bring in outside catering to those rooms.;reservation were mixed up between family members with same last name and Hilton Honors points were not awarded.
