This place was absolutely gorgeous, and the staff was so kind , friendly, and genuinely so excited for us. We were able to have the wedding of our dreams here, and we will be back just to experience the beautiful grounds & taste the delicious wines again. There is a cat named Tuxedo that lives here, and he walked down the aisle in front of me at our wedding, creating such a whimsical & memorable moment. Every characteristic of this place is charming & I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a vineyard, barn, or outdoor wedding.
The staff there on the day of our wedding we’re extremely helpful. We had accidents left and right and the staff was on top of it even when they didn’t have to be. Someone spilled barbecue sauce all over another guest and one of the staff went in and helped get the stain out with club soda. They really went above and beyond. We got married in September and the wether was absolutely perfect, the vineyard was a great location for us
We had a beautiful wedding and reception in the event barn. We had 120 guests, which was a great size for the venue. We had the patio part of the barn (which is enclosed and climate controlled) flipped from a ceremony set up to a dinner set up during our 30 minute cocktail hour (our wedding coordinators did this). The Equus Run bartenders and staff we so friendly and we received many compliments about them from our guests! As previously mentioned, we did have a wedding coordinator, which I highly recommend in general, but particularly for this venue. It allowed the flow to go very smoothly. The barn was cleaned for our venue beforehand and the tables and chairs (which are included) were also clean and in good condition. You are provided a list of caterers to choose from. We went with Cathy Vance and could not have been more pleased! We received our security deposit back in about 6 weeks, which is expected according to the contract. Our experience with Equus was amazing and we couldn’t have had a more perfect wedding day!
I was married at Equus Run Vineyards in July 2017 and the experience was wonderful. I had no problems with the staff returning my messages and they were very helpful in my wedding prep. The property is beautifully maintained and the staff were very helpful the day of the wedding. When I had questions, I could refer back to the contract and most of the information was right there. When the information was not on the contract I could call the office and someone would call me back that day if they didn't answer. The owner was very kind and stopped by the venue to see if we needed anything and to make sure that everything was working properly. As far as the setup and breakdown, there were no issues. I cannot wait to return back to Equus Run for my anniversary each year. It holds a very dear place in my heart! Thank you Equus Run!
BEWARE--I purchased two tickets to see Exile in 2016. It was about 110 degrees. They booked the concert early in the evening. The best I recall it was around 5:30 or 6pm. The ticket price included dinner. Ive been an Exile fan for 30 years. I've met them several times and will always them--but no thanks to Equs Vineyards!! This year when I received notice that the show was later in the evening, I immediately purchased my tickets. I promptly received an email confirmation. To my dismay, I started receiving phone calls and crazy messages telling me how excited Equus Vineyards was that I was coming to the concert and what a great evening they had planned, and they were offering me the opportunity to purchase dinner tickets for an additional $20.00. You see--this was not only an insult to my intelligence, but also a matter of principle. When I called Megan back, I explained to her that my receipt indicated that dinner is included in the ticket price. Nowhere in the voicemail did "Megan" mention that Equus was false advertising and not going to honor what was posted on their website. I demanded my money back--not because I could not afford the additional $20.00--but because my father always told me, "You are only as good as your word!" As you can see from the wedding reviews, the people that operate this business do not care about honesty, ethics, or the customer. This is not an honest company that stands by their word or their customer. I advised them to remove me from their phone and email list and that I no longer wished to be affiliated with an agency that operates in this manner. Would you believe Megan called me back the very next day still trying to sell me the $20 worth of dinner tickets for which I already had a receipt-but they refused to honor! I never received any communication from management as requested nor a single bit of remorse. Please steer clear from this company!!
the scenery of course was beautiful, you just can't beat the green of Kentucky summers;however the experience with the staff made this experience miserable for my family and I. Would not recommend to any bride especially knowing what they put us through in an already stressful time. Air conditioner in barn didn't work during one of the hottest days of the year and our guests were miserable. Staff undermined our wine choices to guests. Plans had to be changed multiple times because of zero communication and new rules (just days before wedding) They could care less they are in the wedding business and do not feel the need to make your day special. You even begin to feel as if you aren't the paying customer but that you borrowed the place free of charge. Horrible business practices
My wedding day was a beautiful, flawless day I will never forget, but no thanks to the staff that operates the venue. I want to strongly warn brides against booking with Equus Run Vineyards in Midway, Ky., they are an absolute nightmare to work with. They treat their brides like second-class citizens, they were disrespectful to my band, my caterer and my family. Many times through the planning process they attempted to alter my contract without my knowledge (this is illegal) and were NEVER accessible for questions. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!
