Completely professional, easy to communicate with, no issues whatsoever with them, they were perfect. I had accessibility needs that they immediately accommodated.
Krista and Steve a the Lakehouse were amazing. Every question we asked was immediately answered. They were kind and responsive. Steve was our day-of contact and he could not have been more accommodating before, during and after the wedding. Krista is a pro and knows just what is needed and who to connect you with to get things done. The Lakehouse was a beautiful setting for our October wedding.
We loved having our wedding at Evergreen Lake House!! It is so unbelievably gorgeous and they were so great to work with. They have great communication and always responded to emails and calls timely. Their staff on the day of is incredibly helpful. Don't let their having preferred caterers scare you off because even that was affordable and made our lives so much easier. They know what they are doing! It was also so great having a wedding venue that wasn't nickle and diming us for every single little thing. They kept their fees clear and upfront and there were not any surprises. They were flexible with us and helped us have the perfect day!
Evergreen Lake House was a truly magical venue for our wedding - we can't recommend it highly enough! We held the ceremony and reception here for our wedding of ~110 guests, and it was absolutely perfect.
Ours was a winter wedding so we held the ceremony indoors. The venue itself is so beautiful that you hardly need to bring in any decorations; we had relatively simple decor and all of our guests kept commenting on how beautiful everything looked. With mountains as a backdrop and ice skating on the frozen lake outside, it was a stunning venue.
Krista and her team were super helpful leading up to, during, and after the event. And we saved tons of money by being able to provide our own alcohol.
The Evergreen Lake House is stunning for a ceremony, cocktail hour and reception in the mountains! Our many out-of-town guests were awed by the scenery and appreciated the easy 1 hr drive proximity to DIA. The space was well sized for our 110 guests - ceremony by the lake, cocktail hour on the deck, and reception in the large timber lodge. Krista the venue coordinator was extremely responsive in communications. I wished the venue day-of coordinator was more hands on, but she fulfilled her role. We appreciated the approved caterer list to help narrow the decision, but it still provided variety of cuisine type and cost. Go to the Lake House's offseason open house to try the caterers and meet all other types of local vendors. BYBO is a huge cost savings and with the ability to have Apple Jacks deliver it to the venue, it was very easy. The venue is strict on allowable décor and clean-up times, so be sure to read the contract and have enough people scheduled for the limited set-up and tear-down times. However, the venue has so much natural beauty that we did not have to provide too many additional decorations. The Lake House and deck is private for your event, but note that the public still has access to the trail, lake, and parking lot. The closest accommodations with more than 15 rooms is 15 minutes away, so we provided shuttle transportation. Overall, the price is very reasonable for the quality and I would highly recommend!
Evergreen Lake House provided an amazingly beautiful backdrop for my daughter's wedding. The patio, deck, lake house, and grounds are incredible. Krista was a delight to work with. She was professional, responsive, and supportive from the initial contact to the after-wedding-followup . She thoroughly understands the many details of having a wedding at the Lake House and was ever-ready to answer my questions and provide support.
I cannot recommend this venue enough! We had our destination wedding here coming from Iowa. The weather was perfect for late October and all of our guests loved the venue. Krista was amazing to work with, always responded to my questions quickly and helped me with my organization for the day of! We didn’t have an event before ours so we were able to extend our time frame a little which was super helpful! If you have a bigger group I definitely recommend the octagon room for your buffet to save on space.
The Evergreen Lake House was a stunning venue for our wedding and all of our guests loved the space. It gives the perfect mountain feel without having to drive far outside of Denver and the glass windows allow the outdoors to be enjoyed at all times. It is also very close to Evergreen's downtown, making it very accessible for guests. The space comfortably fit all of our guests and provided a beautiful flow for the entire event.
The Evergreen Lake House was a fantastic wedding venue. The location and beauty of the building is spectacular.
Beautiful venue to have a wedding! Everything was perfect and I really enjoyed getting to have my big day there. Shawn and Adam were very easy to work with and super accommodating when extra people showed up to our wedding that didn't RSVP! It was such a seamless transition that I didn't even know it was happening until someone told me after! Shawn was awesome and helped every step of the way! Thank you for a perfect night!
The Evergreen Lake House was a great venue for us. We were thrilled by the affordability of such a picturesque location. Adam was a great contact to work with, especially considering he took over in the middle of the process. The building has limited kitchen facilities, and they have a lengthy cleanup checklist, but this was no problem for one of the caterers from their preferred list (we went with Fresh Tracks, and they were great!). They are also strict about their venue reservation times, but they were very helpful in getting the room prepped with tables and chairs before our time started. I definitely recommend this venue for anyone looking for somewhere beautiful and affordable!
The minute we saw the Lake House we knew we wanted to be married there. We had our ceremony outside on the deck overlooking the lake, and it was perfect! Very much a Colorado mountain feel, but close enough to Denver to make it easy for our guests to attend. We received so many compliments from our friends and family on the beautiful venue and scenic setting. And Adam made everything incredibly easy, from booking to the walk-through, rehearsal, and ceremony and reception.
I want to be honest, and this is hard for me to write because I hate leaving bad reviews. Evergreen Lake House misled my fiancé and I about the bridge project. We were told that there might be some lane closures and to tell guests to arrive early, nothing more.
Months after booking the venue, I called to confirmed they received some updated paperwork from me. I was met with a friendly guy who informed me the venue coordinator had left, but they did indeed have my paperwork. Right as we were about to get off the phone, he dropped the bomb that the bridge project was much larger than had been explained and that there was a chance my wedding would be cancelled. To say I was blindsided was an understatement. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
We ended up calling the city of Denver, who owns the bridge, and they told us they didn't really have an update on the bridge but once construction started that there would be no access to the venue. Our wedding was supposed to take place in October 2018, and the venue said we could keep our spot, and they would let us know in August 2018 if our wedding was a go or not.
Needless to say, we asked for a refund and found a new venue. I just wanted to write this as a word of caution to brides. If the bridge is still not complete, ask questions! Maybe something has changed, but I would be very, very cautious.
I love how beautiful this venue is. It is exactly what I wanted: a lake and mountain view with a log, rustic, classy ceremony facility (the lake house). I loved having the ceremony outside on the deck. Evergreen is a nice mountain town very close to the suburbs of Devner and (Like Littleton) so that in-town Colorado guests don't have to get a hotel room like they would at a far mountain town like Vail or Breck. Beautiful!
The Lake House was such a beautiful Colorado site for our wedding. After meeting online from 1700 miles away, Evergreen Lake was our first date when we met face to face. We couldn't have held our wedding any place else. The weather was gorgeous, the paddle boarders and kayaks just added to the picturesque background. Adam and other staff members were great to work with throughout our planning and the day of. He helped manage curious onlookers, parking, facility questions and a ton of other background things so that we didn't have to worry about them. It was perfect.
The Evergreen Lake House is the best venue for those who love an elegant mountain setting! It was convenient to have the ceremony and cocktail hour take place out on the deck with the reception inside. It was right on the lake and so beautiful! You honestly don't even need much decor because the venue just speaks for itself. The staff was very supportive and professional and responded to any questions we had throughout the entire planning process. I will tell you that you must book a year in advance and it is done by lotto, so you need to have a game plan and some time on your hands. We had our wedding on a Thursday which was a bit cheaper than a weekend date. Overall, we were very pleased with our venue choice and our guests couldn't stop raving about it!
The Evergreen Lake House is an absolutely gorgeous place to have a wedding. As a destination wedding, our guests were in awe of the location and beauty of the venue. It perfectly fit our 'adventure' vibe and looked so beautiful with minimal decoration. I absolutely loved getting married here.
My only complaint is the manager, Lorna. She's incredibly difficult to work with, rude, and was short with us at every single encounter. She fought with our vendors via emails we were CC'd on, she claimed we were 'burdening our family' by having a few of them take care of clean up at the end of the night, and the worst was when she ruined a moment between my mother and I on the wedding day. We were sitting out on the deck, I was writing my vows and my mom and I were just talking about the wedding and the future. Then Lorna came out and repeatedly told us we shouldn't be sitting on the deck and blahblahblah. It was just ridiculous, but honestly that's Lorna.
So, if you can handle a difficult person who constantly takes all of the fun and joy out of wedding planning, then I highly recommend the Lake House.
This venue is a 5-star venue, no question. Everyone was beyond nice and the views are breathtaking. We had a destination wedding (from Cleveland, OH) and we couldn't have picked a better spot. Our Guests were in awe the entire night.
Thanks Evergreen Lake House for helping to make our special night even more special!
We had our ceremony and reception at the Evergreen Lake House last month and I was more than impressed with how well our special day turned out. I was so nervous about the short amount of time we were able to have the venue, but we were able to get in a little early to begin our set up. We had our first dance on the deck overlooking the lake and it was so perfect. Our guests the entire night were just raving about how beautiful the setting was. I loved the geese swimming behind us during our ceremony, and the park rangers really did a great job of clearing out paddle boarders and canoes right before our ceremony. Lorna, Shawn (sp?) and Christine were all so great to work with. I would definitely recommend the lake house if you want a true Colorado wedding!
Our daughter and now son-in-law were married at the Evergreen Lake House on June 10,2017. The facility is absolutely beautiful and the staff are all very accommodating! Lorna, Rich, Jennifer, and Christine were all so helpful. The setting is stunning as they were married on the deck right on the water with a beautiful mountain backdrop and the weather was a perfect sunny 90 degrees. It could not have been a better day and we so appreciate the opportunity to use the facility. All of the guests commented on how beautiful the wedding/reception and venue was. Thank you Lorna and staff for such a memorable day!
This venue is amazing! We had a destination wedding and were not able to see the venue prior to our rehearsal the day before the wedding. Super stressful but so worth it! The staff were great to work with. The venue is a little pricey and you are limited on time but it's such a beautiful setting that I'm not sure you could find elsewhere. Shawn, the event coordinator for the day of, was so very helpful. She even tried to help bustle my dress!!
Beautiful log cabin on a lake. It snowed on our wedding day (in late April!), but it was a beautiful winter wonderland.
We had our reception here along with a short and sweet ceremony. Unfortunately it poured rain so we had to move the ceremony inside instead of having it on the lake. The staff was quick to help and make a decision of where to have it. The venue is cheaper on the weekdays which is what we did and we were allowed to bring in our own alcohol and food which helped save costs by a ton! The staff are very laid back and helpful to get everything set up. Just read through all of the agreements because you can only have the venue for a certain time and an extra hour is very expensive!! Plus, you have to take out all trash, pick up all chairs, and sweep before leaving! Make sure you have a few people selected ahead of time to help with this, other than those minor things this venue was amazing!
We were married in early June 2015 at the Evergreen Lake House, and the venue was absolutely stunning. All of our guests, whether Colorado natives or out-of-state visitors, kept commenting on the beautiful setting!
We had a somewhat unconventional Monday brunch wedding, which made the cost for this space unbelievably affordable (1/3 the price of a weekend!). Other reviewers have alluded to the complex lottery system, but if you are flexible with your day of the week, you will have many options. Although the Lake House doesn't provide day-of coordination, our catering team took care of all the setup and teardown details, which made the day flow very smoothly. (We highly recommend The Pines at Genessee Catering - amazing!)
My husband and I are both Colorado natives, so we know how unpredictable weather can be! That's why it was so important to us that our "back-up" indoor ceremony space would be just as beautiful as an outdoor location. You can't go wrong with the huge windows and beautiful wood beams inside the Lake House - our photographs turned out amazing both inside and outside.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Lake House to anyone who wants a beautiful mountain wedding.
This venue is to die for. Nestled in the heart of Evergreen with the mountains and lake, with no decoration at all this gives you an amazing and very "Colorado" backdrop. But because of that, there are some trade offs like very strict time lines & decorating rules and a lottery system a year in advance of the month you would like to get married in order to select your date. In my personal opinion, unless you are unbelievably organized I would hire a day of coordinator to help run things smoothly without stressing you out. We did and it was the best money we ever spent. If I had to do it all over again I would pick this place in a heartbeat. It was perfect!
Wow this location is fantastic! INCREDIBLY beautiful. The staff is super helpful and really friendly.
Also a PRO, was that we were able to bring in all of our own vendors including caterer and booze.
If you are looking to wow your guest have your wedding here.
My wedding was at the beginning of the summer/wedding season - the space was perfection. I would suggest a day of coordinator as there is not staff on hand to assist with anything. I would also suggest renting the space the entire day, as opposed to morning or afternoon. The time flies and my biggest regret is the wedding didn't last longer. The outdoor space was absolutely amazing for the ceremony, the cocktail hour was also held outdoors and the reception indoors was perfectly lit and room for lots of guests.
My husband and I got married here in the fall. It was a beautiful time of year to get married in the mountains and where better than a log cabin on a mountain lake! The venue is gorgeous and perfect size for a medium to somewhat bigger wedding guest list. The staff work well with the vendors and are supportive on the actual day. We had our ceremony and reception there. They have a great deck by the lake which is perfect for the ceremony. The only drawback is that they usually do two weddings a day. You can reserve the place for the whole day though, which would be my suggestion if you're doing both ceremony and reception there.
My husband and I just got married here and have to say that this place is truly unique and will wow out of town guests! We have heard nothing but wonderful compliments about this venue and the spectacular views that surround it.
The venue itself is clean, well kept, has newly remodeled restrooms, and a perfect catering kitchen.
We found our experience here truly memorable for ourselves and our guests. We feel so lucky to have won the Evergreen "lottery" which really felt like winning everything.
ELH was so wonderful. It is perfect for a DIY bride. The venue is pretty strict on their guidelines and isn't necessarily "helpful" with planning, but if you know what you want and how to execute it ELH is a fantastic choice. The setting really cannot be beat.
With both of our families coming from out of state, we wanted a venue that would take their breath away and wrap up everything we love about CO...we knew the minute we drove up to the Evergreen Lake House that we'd found a venue that would more than accomplish what we were looking for. Lorna and her team at the Lake House were wonderful. They helped us through the process, and made sure our day went off without a hitch. If you're looking for a venue that's sure to impress, make sure to visit the Evergreen Lake House!
From reading other reviews, we knew what we were getting ourselves into (lottery, strict timelines, etc), but we couldn't overlook the beauty of the Lake House! Our wedding turned out flawless and we had such a beautiful Colorado day.
With the venue closing down due to flooding 1 week prior to our event, Lorna showed her compassionate side and did everything she could to make our wedding happen at the venue we wanted. She kept us informed every day of the status of the flooding and gave me a giant hug when it all worked out!
The Evergreen Lakehouse could not be any more perfect for a wedding. And Lorna is fantastic!
The location for the wedding was absolutely exquisite; the mountains and lake make a beautiful setting! Lorna and the lake house staff were very helpful, professional and knowledgable. It is well maintained. However, there is very little time for set up and break down (one hour).
Beautiful venue with beautiful surroundings helps make a beautiful wedding.
Overall, the Evergreen Lake House is a great venue! It was cost efficient, beautiful, and a convenient place to book both a ceremony and a reception. Unfortunately, their staff is very unfriendly and not very helpful when planning your event. Their policies are strict and the rental time frames are not flexible.
This was such a lovely venue! It had a rustic/natural feel and I didn't need to do much decorating as it was gorgeous already! A few bad things is that the event coordinator at the facility doesn't do much the day of the wedding. The bathrooms are also very dated and the time slots available were short and would have to pay for extra time. You might also have to watch out for random paddle boaters in the background of your wedding pictures!
The lake house was the perfect setting for my wedding. Not too far from Denver, but still a mountain feel. The lights on the lake house are beautiful at night and then deck is perfect for a ceremony. There is not a large kitchen on site, but every caterer I spoke with was able to bring their own equipment. The only downside was that it seemed a little expensive to me for something that is owned by the Parks & Rec District. The plus side to that is that you can supply your own beer, wine, and champagne which greatly cut costs.
This was a beautiful location for a wedding. We had our ceremony out on the deck on the lake and it couldn't have been more perfect.
The reception was also at the Lake House inside, which was the perfect place for a big party. There was room for an 8 person band and a big dance floor. It was incredible. And the staff was very helpful and then on the actual wedding day, present but not at all in the way. They were stellar!
The Evergreen Lake House was everything we wanted for our day and more. The setting was ideal: showing our guests the beauty of the Colorado mountains. The building itself was stunning: newly polished floors, timber wood structure, enchanting lighting, perfect deck size and space for cocktail hour and the park administrators were helpful throughout the process.
It is a beautiful location.
Such a pretty venue! Everything was great, but their rules are strict.
Amazing place, but maybe best for a DIY event... be very sure to read ALL terms of agreement!
Beautiful reception area. Time limitation only negative.
The Evergreen Lake House was the most perfect setting for a wedding. It is absolutely beautiful- warm, intimate, mountain setting. The coordinator was extremely helpful. The only reason I gave a rating of 4 instead of 5 is due to the fact that the lake house is a venue ONLY. You must hire catering, staff, bartenders, and rent ALL of the equipment. You must also hire staff or set-up and take-down the event yourself. That being said, it can be a lot of work to work with so many other vendors. However, all of the vendors I hired had all worked an event there before and the night went perfect! I would absolutely have my wedding there again.
My husband and I heard about the Lake House through a wedding coordinator and once we visited we knew it was the place for us! Our wedding was a destination for all our guests since we are from Missouri and are currently living in Denver. Our guests came from MO, Fla, RI, Kansas, Seattle, NY...and were all so impressed with the backdrop of the lake and mountains and the Lake House itself. We have had so many compliments on choosing the Lake House and all our guests stayed at the Quality Inn right by 1-70 so it made getting to Evergreen from the airport and hwy fairly easy. Lorna, the Director and the Lake House is really accommodating and worked with us to make sure we had everything taken care of for our wedding day. You cannot serve hard liquor at the Lake House but our guests didn't seem to mind. Also music has to stop at 11:00p and we were told we could have music until 11:30 as we didn't have to be out by 12:00a. That wasn't a huge deal to us but it would've been nice to go a little longer. Great scenery, town and wedding venue!
I fell in love with the Evergreen Lake House and did whatever it took to have my September 5, 2010 wedding there. This included having to take time off work to attend a "lottery" 1 year in advance to fight other brides for my date and deal with the special events coordinator who was very difficult to work with. I also had to pay 6 months in advance (in full!) for the venue. Despite these frustrations, it was the most beautiful place I can think of to have my wedding and I'd do it again in a heart beat. All of my out of town (and in town for that matter) guests commented about the beautiful site.
Lorna who runs the Lake House is amazing. She will work with you to make your day perfect. The Lake House is beautiful. My wedding was perfect. Got the deposit back immediately.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful..;Over priced, very poorly managed, very poorly staffed. (some of our guests had to work at unstopping toilets...the staff couldn't be bothered). Poor communication - they switched managers 4 times during our planning period and never contacted me or my planner. It took them 4 months to get our deposit back. Had we known this we never would have had our wedding there.
Rustic, but beautiful. Great for people traveling to Colorado.;Spruce up the bathrooms!
