Let me start off by saying that this venue is absolutely beautiful! It was everything I had wanted for our wedding! There was just a few things that happened that made our wedding day extremely difficult!
First being that we were suppose to get into the venue the day of the wedding at 8am. Fast forward to 930am, we still weren’t in. The event coordinator just didn’t show up. I had no phone numbers for anyone else! I happened to find the the caterers phone number and he came to let us in around 945. If I hadn’t found this number, who knows what time we would have gotten in. This was extremely stressful as we couldn’t get in the night before to set anything up unless we paid an additional $1,000! It was nice at least that they had our tables set up where they needed to be. We didn’t have a coordinator at all the day of the wedding. Thank God for our DJ who kind of took over this role!
Another big thing was our bartenders. They were suppose to be there and start serving by 5pm. They didn’t show up till close to 530-545! Extremely frustrating as our guest were waiting to be served.
At the end of the day, we got married and that’s all that matters but just sharing our experience!
My chosen wedding vendors were absolutely amazing. The only vendors that made the wedding day stressful were the venues in-house bar service, as their bartenders were late. As well as their event coordinator Hillary, who had put her 2 week notice in before my wedding and decided not to show up the day of our wedding to let us in!
I really hoped for the best with this venue despite reading the previous reviews. The space is gorgeous and the price was great! Up until the wedding, the manager worked well and was responsive towards the questions I had. However, the venue basically requires you to work with their catering partner otherwise you pay a large fee. I didn’t enjoy that, but still knew that going into the contract with them. I was disappointed with the manager the day before and day of my wedding. I contacted her twice with questions I had and left a message. She never responded and wasn’t present during either of those days.
We loved having our ceremony and reception at Factory 12! My only complaint would be that in order to be guaranteed to have the venue for the rehearsal, you have to pay for an additional day. Luckily, they allowed us to cut an hour off in the morning the following day, and did not charge us additionally for the rehearsal. Very well orchestrated day of the wedding!
I was rather disappointed with this venue. My fiancé and I were very excited to be married there due to the beautiful space. The Staff was not very good about communication. We were cancelled on twice the day of the meeting and meetings have been forgotten about until we showed up for them. Which typically is not too big of a deal but we live an hour away and need to schedule time to come down. We were told there would be able to use the space for our rehearsal the night before our wedding but when we reached out to schedule the rehearsal we were told they do not do rehearsals. We would not have been upset if this had been the plan from the beginning.
There is also a lot of different people you have to go through for catering and alcohol. It is highly suggested you use the in-house caterer but there are three different people you need to speak to. When attempting to plan everything we got the feeling no one spoke to each other or communicated in any way. It was rather frustrating to be planning a very important event and having to stay on top of the Staff.
Ultimately our wedding was beautiful and our guests loved it. We do believe this was despite the staff and not because of them. They are nice people but I encourage you to look at another venue.
It truly is a shame that such a beautiful space can be so poorly managed. The lack of communication on the manager and staff’s end alone prevents me from recommending this venue to anyone. My husband and I always had to initiate communication and had to request to receive our invoices, which they sent to us the week of the wedding. We were also guaranteed “transparency” and clear communication among the venue coordinator, catering service, and bar service, but this never happened. We had to work with each party individually and often had to repeat information to all involved to insure that everyone would be on the same page. There needs to be great improvements in terms of professionalism and communication, or this venue’s full potential is going to be squandered. Again, the space is absolutely lovely, but it’s simply not worth the added stress and uncertainty created by its management.
The Factory 12 Event Loft is recently under new management.
I booked my wedding with the old owners, and they were difficult to contact and work with, but the venue was exactly what I wanted and was a decent price so I went with it.
I had a bit of a scare when the new management took over, but they made the transition painless and were SO much easier to work with than the old owners. Caleb is very professional and was willing to answer any and all questions I threw his way, and is very easy to reach. They were willing to make sure what I was envisioning for my day came through, even though my deposit for the venue had gone with the previous owner so they weren't seeing that money from me. Unfortunately we had a couple instances of miscommunication that I'm hoping were just caused by the ownership change and the proximity of our wedding to Christmas; first, I was not informed that Caleb would not be at our wedding, but instead their catering manager Brittany would be my contact for the day. Brittany was absolutely amazing though and bent over backwards to make sure every detail got taken care of.
Second, when we showed up for setup, the napkins were the wrong color, but Brittany sent an employee to Indianapolis to pick up the right color and got the situation remedied with no hassle.
Third, the bar had apparently not been told what our desires were for service that night. Caleb took our order for which wines and beers to serve, but those choices were never communicated to the bar and so some of our chosen beers weren't offered. But the bartenders were friendly and Brittany made sure to bring my groom and I drinks all night when she saw ours were empty, she certainly made us feel cared for.
Finally, when we showed up to the venue for set up, there were up-lights left in the space, presumably from a previous event. We had brought a few of our own, but had forgotten the extension cords for them, and Brittany said we could just use those that were already there instead. We set up what we wanted, but when we came the morning of the wedding the lights had all been taken away and there was no time to go buy extension cords for the ones we brought. Everything looked wonderful anyway, it was just a small inconvenience that added to the list of miscommunications along the way.
On the whole, I would recommend the venue. The food was amazing and affordable, the staff was friendly and professional, the place has an industrial beauty to it that requires few decorations making setup easy and inexpensive. But I would say to explicitly confirm all your choices with the team before the day of your event to prevent miscommunication; I have no doubt their performance will improve as they get used to the space and the requirements of a wedding.
We just had our daughters wedding reception at The Loft. We could not have been happier. The owner was very responsive and attentive to us through the entire process and worked well with all our requests! It looked beautiful! Everyone was so impressed. The owner and her staff were fantastic! I highly recommend The Loft!
The space itself is gorgeous and we received many compliments on the loft look. However, I'd have to say, if I had to do the day over again, I would find a different venue. Dealing with management at the Loft is a nightmare. The manager rarely checks email and won't get back to you for as long as a month and at no point will you feel like you are at all a priority. In addition, you will be nickel and dimed for everything. They maintain business because the Loft looks unique and there are only a handful of venue options in the area but as a recent bride, I'd save yourself the stress and deal with a vendor who appreciates your business. My husband and I found the owner to be forgetful, rude and unprofessional. I hate to be so harsh but it nearly ruined my shot at a positive engagement period because of the stress. We hope the owner can take the constructive criticism and strive to work with clients better as the space is pretty.
It was the perfect location with our large family and friends! So amazing! Do not forget that the linens, set up fees, etc are not included in the total! The numbers definitely adds up!
The space is great, so many things you can do with it. Must be organized to host an event here.
The space is lofty and great for an indoor wedding/reception. Although the space was beautiful it was way overpriced. The vendor was extremely hard to get ahold of and was difficult to work with. They put things together last minute and overcharged for every single thing. In the end because of the bridal parties' hard work it ended up looking amazing. The space is great but please look elsewhere. I would highly advise anyone NOT to pick the loft.
The reception space overall is very beautiful and the food from the in-house caterer was also very good. However, the owners were always extremely difficult to get ahold of and hard to work with.
Very beautiful venue!! A little overpriced. Watch for all the extra charges like the linens, bar fees, and you have to clean up afterward or you will be charged. The owner is very hard to get in contact with especially when you are running a business. Overall it's a very beautiful venue!
The space is beautiful, but there are hundreds of dollars of hidden costs at the final meeting. Owner is rude and not very accommodating. Bar is way overpriced, and during my reception we paid for open bar and they only served people beer and wine which is not what we paid for.
I am so pleased with the level of professionalism and overall experience with The Loft. They were very willing to help and made my day so special.
