I recently was married at the ag museum and it was everything I could have ever dreamed of. Debbie the coordinator was fantastic and so helpful.
We cannot say enough good things about the Florida Agricultural Museum! Debbie, who runs events, is so helpful! The Museum itself is just beautiful! Our guests had such a great time and raved about how awesome the venue was. A++!
If you're looking for a barn wedding, this is definitely a place to consider if you're in the Northeast Florida area. Although it may seem out of the way, it is actually pretty close to the main highway I95 and is pretty easy to get to with the right directions.
The barn is 5,000 square foot, so there is plenty of room for food setup, seating, a dance floor, a cake table, drink station, etc. The barn itself is no longer used for anything other than events, but it is on a farm that is functioning and includes, but not limited to horses, cows, chickens, a turkey, cats and a dog that happened to make an appearance at my wedding (not that big of a deal to this animal lover).
There's also a pretty big area right by the barn that's good for parking.
We did our ceremony at a state park down the road (Princess Place Preserve, very beautiful oak trees along the Matanzas River), but the Florida Ag Museum does have a ceremony spot on its property that I've heard is very pretty.
The barn does have chairs and tables it rents out, but unfortunately they've seen better days. If you want to rent your own, they charge a pretty hefty fee ($400 I think) for not using their's. A little crazy in my opinion.
If there's a drought going on (and there was when we were married) a lot of dust can get kicked around. The day of the wedding wasn't too bad, but it has been on some of the days I visited the site.
Overall, we had a great experience with the barn. Our guests loved the atmosphere that was set up (a lot of homemade decorations) and so far we've been pleased with how the pictures have come out (wedding only 2 1/2 weeks ago, so no professional pictures yet).
Word of advice: Candles, stringed lights, paper lanterns, chandeliers, hung mason jars, hung tea lights all make for a beautiful barn around night time!!
