I have always wanted to have my wedding reception here, after growing up in Mobile, AL. I booked the venue approximately 11 months out from the date of my wedding!! Overall, it was great!! The package values for the venue cost are great, and the prices of their rentals were very convenient. If you choose to use their food, it can be very pricey, and in my case, it was cheaper to bring in an outside caterer. Taylor, their coordinator is amazing when it comes to your time for you wedding! They help you with EVERYTHING the day off, and really took a lot of stress off out hands...did I mention that it's gorgeous. Having my entire family and friends being able to stay on the property was so much fun too!
I waited for this to be the last review I wrote from our wedding. I wasn’t sure where to even begin.
The Fort Conde Inn is a special place for a wedding, an event or just to stay for a weekend. When we first discovered the Inn we lived in New York. Coming from NY to Alabama we had no idea what to expect. We were blown away. Every last detail down to the sheets, pillows and towels are accounted for.
The Inn is a place that everyone should visit once in their lifetime. We decided to have a destination wedding at the Inn so that all our family and friends could experience the joy and peace that we feel while there.
To say that it was a success would be an understatement. People LOVED Mobile. Our event was a dream come true. The best part about having a wedding at the Inn is you get to pick everything that you want. You rent out the Inn and bring in all your own vendors. We rented the Inn for the weekend so it was like a family party for three days.
David and his father, the owners, have put so much thought and detail into the inn. The chef, Robbie, is friendly and his food is amazing. He cooked all my guests breakfast each day. He even accommodated for those who have allergies and dietary restrictions. The cleaning crew is friendly and efficient. The staff at the front (Michelle, Ashley and Dalton) are all wonderful. They each went out of their way to make my day special but also to make my guests feel special.
If you visit the Inn any room is beautiful. If you have an event at the inn, you must hire The McBride Standard to plan and coordinate your event. Amanda is the reason the wedding was so beautiful. She put out any fire that occurred that day without me ever knowing about it. She knows the inn inside and out.
Between Amanda, all my vendors and the Fort Conde Inn we had the best day of our lives!

My wedding at Fort Conde Inn was a dream come true! It is a beautiful venue dripping with southern charm. From the courtyard ceremony to the "street party" reception everything was incredibly great. The staff was so accommodating and knowledgable. We worked directly with Michelle who did a fantastic job! The wedding was beautiful and our guests thoroughly enjoyed their stay at Fort Conde Inn. The breakfast was top notch as well!
We booked this venue sight unseen and it did not disappoint. There is no detail unattended to in this beautiful historic inn. We live out of state and many of our guest were coming from out of town so we had the entire inn reserved for our wedding weekend. Amanda was extremely helpful and patient through all of the email and communication leading up to our wedding day. She has a great relationship with local vendors and a lot of knowledge about Fort Conde Inn that made planning our wedding so much easier. Ashley was another great asset to Fort Conde Inn and was so sweet and kind to all of our guests, making them feel take care of. The chef was so personable and the breakfast was amazing. Having our guests together in the dining room and courtyard was a great way to start our day and made for great community and conversation. As a bed and breakfast, it’s a great place to stay and the rooms are beautifully and comfortably furnished. All of the staff are amazing and their hospitality is unparalleled. As a wedding venue, it is like something out of a story book and we can’t believe how fortunate we were to have been able to start our married life together at Fort Conde Inn. We look forward to visiting again!
Overall experience was good. The planning process was complicated with hidden fees/unknowns. We wish that Amanda (guest coordinator) was more informative, and provided a list of things that were not included from the start. Ashley took care of us day of and was absolutely amazing! She went out of her way to make sure everything was taken care of and how we wanted it. Can’t say enough about her! Venue itself is beautiful and historic.
We used Fort Conde Inn for our rehearsal dinner, reception, as well as getting ready area for the bridal party. We were able to rent out the entire facility for the entire weekend, so our family was able to stay on-site as well, which we LOVED. The property is magnificent and restored both beautifully and historically. They all raved about their accommodations and the breakfast provided each morning by Chef Robbie.
The management seemed a little disconnected at times. We would get one answer from one manager, but then receive a different answer from the second manager. However, they would honor the other's statement. We also had to communicate with the owner in New York to book all the alcohol. Again, just disjointed, but we were never concerned about the quality of our reception.
We were told that we would have a day-of wedding coordinator provided in our rental fees. We were given her name and email address, but she never responded to me. After finally calling and questioning this, I was told that she no longer works there but was given the name and number of her replacement. The replacement coordinator owns her own venue in the city, and when we met with her, she made it very clear that Fort Conde Inn weddings were not her priority, and she was just offering her services to them as a favor. We were not comfortable leaving our wedding day in her hands, so we hired our own wedding coordinator. We later complained to the owner about this experience, and he refunded us some money as an apology.
These were our only complaints about Fort Conde Inn. Although the communication was disjointed, everyone was quick to accommodate us and resolve the problems when we made them aware. The owner in New York made himself very available to us, which we appreciated.
The gorgeous historic home was the perfect backdrop to our Southern wedding! We would absolutely recommend it to any Mobile brides!
The place is beautiful and fufullied our vision for what we wanted for our wedding day. We did have issues with our out of town guest trying to book a room for our wedding day, many of them had to book a hotel room else where because they kept saying all the rooms were booked. It got taken care of about a week before my actual wedding, which was just a little too late. Communication was a bit difficult to through email and phone, but improved once it got closer to the wedding. Even though we had these issues, the day of the wedding made those issues obsolete. Brandon and the crew worked their butts off to help us and ended up having a beautiful wedding and everything flowed perfectly. No regrets going with Fort Conde Inn for our big day.
Fort Conde Inn was fantastic! The staff was friendly and helpful. The area was gorgeous. The rooms in the inn were perfect. I have absolutely no complaints about this venue! I would recommend for a ceremony and reception (I had both there) to any bride looking for a "Old Mobile" feel with a city skyline in the background!
Beautiful venue! Made my wedding day amazing! Minor problems with manager and over charged on the bar
This place is amazing, not to mention beautiful. The manager there is fantastic and was a huge help all along the way. Highly recommended
